Rose Ardente

Fiery rose. This is a very different rose fragrance. It opens up very spicy, fiery and I guess smells a lot of something like chillies that others mention, although not listed within the notes. Then you get a fresh rose with leaves and stem. The overall feel of the fragrance is watery and translucent. As it develops, it is tart like biting into blackcurrant. Then it smells like unsweetened fruit tea. In the drydown you are left with blackcurrant mostly and at the very end something a bit animalic, but very faint. It is an interesting take on rose. Very well blended and quite light. It doesn't last more than 5 hours on my skin and it's mostly a skin scent.

I once saw the advertisement for this perfume, and with a name like Rose Ardente, I thought that it's gonna use chilli or pepper as ingredients... But no... This is spicy rose fragrance indeed, but they utilise amber instead, and it gives off the nuance of warm, cozy, and elegant. A sophisticated rose perfume that suits cooler weather. The notes that I detect are blackcurrant, rose, amber, honey and vanilla (people need to find other ingredient to create sweet nuances, honestly vanilla has been overused). This scent projects moderately on my skin with above moderate longevity.

This is definitely a spicy rose, and one of my favorite rose perfumes! I love that it's so different from other, more traditional rose-based fragrances. The chili pepper blends so beautifully with the other notes. This is a fragrance I find myself reaching for year-round. It lasts a long time and has decent sillage without being overwhelming. The price is a bit steep and comparable to many other high end brands but it's for 100ml, which is double the size of a TF private blend for that price.

One of the best roses. Vanilla, honey, and jammy yet slightly tart and sour rose. It did remind me of Lettre De Pushkar, but unlike Lettre rose accord in Rose Ardente is much stronger. Smells divine, sillage, and diffusion are on top. Shame this whole line is discontinued. But if you come across it somewhere or on resale please take it and give it the love it deserves. In return, Rose Ardente will guarantee you endless joy and tons of compliments.
