Midnight in Milan

To me, this perfume is a little bit of a sexy and mysterious night scent perfect for going out in the evening. Rose is a bit hit or miss for me, but it's done well here. To my nose, I mainly just get the rose but not in a cloyingly sweet or super fresh way. It's more like a rosewater scent or rose jam scent with a subtle hint of something else (I'm not quite sure what, maybe the blackcurrant and jasmine?) The sillage is not very big for me, but it lasts a long time. After about 2 hours it starts to sit close to the skin and becomes fairly subtle, it still smells great, but it becomes noticeably less sweet and floral (I think the amber sticks out the most from the base notes). I can't see myself wearing it every day as it's a little heavy for the daytime or work, but it's quite evocative and feminine in a grown-up way. I think the name 'Midnight in Milan' suits it very well, it definitely has a romantic sensual vibe to it but with a slight edge. EDIT: This has grown on me so much, I now feel like you can wear it anytime for any occasion. I love it. The only downside is I feel like you have to reapply after about 5-ish hours. It will still be on your skin after 5 hours but it will be very subtle. Also, after wearing it more, I can now notice ever so slightly spicy and earthy notes to it which I love. Maybe it's the saffron and base notes?

I am not a Rose girl and I am not a candle girl (glasshouse immediately makes me think of Peter Alexander) but picked this up while I was sulking and looking to spend some money on anything. Unbelievable. The first day I did sense some resemblance to BR, but I haven’t noticed that since. It’s non linear in a very literal sense, it seems to always be shifting, it never really settles or stagnates, but always delicious and never overpowering. The rose is fresh and juicy, there’s a sweetness that almost reminds me of like... a Cola? Something fresh and pine-y going on too. Not my usual style but I just love it. I have the 14ml, will upgrade to a 50ml likely soon. For a travel size in an already fairly affordable range the atomiser is very high quality, sprays extremely fine, no leaks.

This is absolutely to die for! I think it smells even better than the candle version, which is saying a lot. I mainly just smell the saffron and rose, it is unisex but more on the feminine side in my opinion. The silage and longevity are great and it smells so strong- you only need a couple of squirts. I have had family, friends, coworkers and even strangers compliment me on how good I smell. I think it smells like a mixture of BR540 and Coco Mademoiselle. I highly suggest giving it a sniff because it’s just gorgeous.

I really love this perfume. I tried it out and thought it honestly smelt like lychee. Even though that’s not a note listed here, it smells fruity and sweet to me. Def one of my favs in life that I’ve tried so far, recommended if you’re looking for a feminine, feel-good, light-hearted scent to boost love in yourself and those around you!

This smells very close to my favorite perfume - Elizabethan rose from Penhaligon’s. Obviously in a very different price category, but it’s still a very fresh elegant rose (fresh compared to like rose with patchouli, haaa), with an interesting twist (this time saffron). Cute, feminine and absolutely stunning. Love this.

Rose and safron combo gives a gulab jamun vibe, but it's not overly gourmand. Agree that it's similar to both BR and Delina, and it may suit you if you find Delina a bit intense or like the idea of a more feminine-leaning BR. I think it's really quite nice, and it has great staying power for the price.

Surprised no one has suggested the similarity between this and Si? They literally smell identical! Love this so much, tested a sample in store and now definitely adding to my list! I feel like this can be worn all year around, just smells great 😍 the body lotion too!

This is really lovely and I’m liking it more and more. It is deep, heavy, sweet and flowery. My friend said ‘it’s got a lot of rose in it’. Maybe my favourite from the glasshouse range although it’s always changing. It has strong staying power which is great.

Much prefer this over a Baccarat Rouge - to me they sit within a similar family but this leans a little less heavy. A little bit of a juicer rose than baccarat. The saffron note is great! Lasts well, very good value for money!

This is such a sexy girly perfume. I agree it has a bit of a lychee undertone even though it's not listed. It's so smooth and deep but yet not too masculine or overpowering. I really want one after borrowing my mothers.

It's mostly rose with a hint of saffron. Such a feminine, classy scent. Really good for the evening if you're a bit dressed up. I don't see it as a daytime perfume at all. It's kind of a hidden gem.

Gorgeous sweet jammy rose. The black currant and rose is what come out strong for me with the amber and Jasmine rounding it out. Phenomenal! Elegant!

I have the body lotion for this scent and I’m in love! I had no idea it was also in a fragrance. I will definitely be purchasing a bottle soon.

This does not smell like Baccarat or Delina. The closest scents to my nose for this is Jo Malone's Red Roses or Velvet Rose and Oud. Baccarat has a sour note that this does not have. Delina reads "all lychee no rose" to me but I can see how most people get rose out of it. It has the darkness and sweetness of Velvet Rose but has a more prominent rose and less sweetness. If you are searching for a similar Velvet Rose fragrance with better longevity, this one might be your closest bet. If you're looking to smell like a dark, rich, red rose, this is the scent. After a while it may become a bit too sweet for some and reads more "candy".

Absolutely stunning fragrance. This starts out with the most beautiful fresh pink rose scent, delina-ish without the sour rhubarb note then after around half an hour it completely changes to something resembling BR540 without the gross dentist smell. The best of both worlds! Not a linear fragrance at all. Performance is just below average but I don't even care because it's just so beautiful. Around 4 hours longevity and projection arms length for around 2 hours. I think this could be worn year round because it's not cloying and totally inoffensive, very office safe.

Wow this is strong! The longevity and sillage are awesome. I do find this is suitable for night out because the rose and blackcurrant are so syrupy. I really love the smell become softer and softer after hours, more feminine, more mature, more musk. I can't find any trace of jasmine however. It's not sickly sweet but do not overspray, can become a headache. Overall not bad, impressed!

At first whiff this reminded me of Delina, and after seeing that people liken it to Baccarat Rouge, I can see the resemblance on the dry down. So to me this is like a Delina + Baccarat mix. Either way, it lasted well on my skin, and is a fresh rose with musky dry down...so far very nice!

Conflicted. I love a chypre. I love that it combines an amber and chypre profile. But a rose bomb like this always puts me off for two reasons: first, rose just does not feel like my scent. It’s beautiful and I love smelling it, but I always feel like I’m cosplaying someone else when I wear it. Second, my skin pulls so sweet that whatever level of sweetness is in the rose gives it an almost alcoholic, wine-like quality that’s nice to smell once but not something I want to be enveloped in all the time. The saffron and ambergris on top of it makes it feel a few things: buttery, almost SALTY even; metallic, like the the smell of blood; vegetal, herbaceous like a well-seasoned salad. This is elegant. This feels vintage with its spicy amber, waxy lipstick, and juicy currant. It’s very clear on what it wants to be and it delivers that really well. But if I’m reaching for this profile, I’m reaching for Eau Capitale for its tamer and less cloying qualities. But man... I’m smelling it on my wrist right now and it kinda drives me crazy how addictive it is. Do I love this ???

The opening is rather fruity, the black current note is prominent in the initial spray and it lingers a little more before drying down to a more amber, musky, slightly sweet base. The dry down definitely smells like Glasshouse ‘Tahaa Affair Devotion’ except more airy - perhaps a tinyyyyyy bit of citrus ?? I believe that all the Glasshouse fragrances make for perfect signature scents for all year round, although, please note that I haven’t worn this for a week at least so I can’t really comment on the silage or longevity,, but I have worn it since 7:00AM and it’s now 5:00PM - it has lasted at least 6 hours with an average silage, after that it becomes a very intimate skin scent.

A good mix between sexy and sweet - super strong sillage as well. I did not realise it had rose notes as it doesn't smell like your typical rose fragrance. If you like the above this is great for you. I have some qualms*, though still smells nice. Just not for me. *I had a little tester of this and loved it at first hint but after having received the 14ml and used a full spray, it is very in your face and sickening. I have a suspicion I'm allergic to something within this scent though not sure what just yet.

This scent used to be my ride or die, but I outgrew it and now I can't stand the scent. It's beyond any emotional connections to that time in my life, it's the richness of the saffron which gives it an overbearing and nauseating quality. Any fragility of the rose is overwhelmed by amber and saffron, but that berry quality does provide a much needed fresh revival. It's very difficult to place the appropriate time and season for this scent, as it's an unequal mash of notes that don't blend the best together.

I get total YSL Babydoll vibes from this. Gives me a wonderful nostalgia of buying Babydoll in my early 20s when it was first released. Also Tom Ford Rose Prick vibes. Fresh fruity rose! I hate the Babydoll bottle and TF is a bit out of my price range atm so Glasshouse Midnight in Milan will be my happy substitute. The 50ml and 100ml bottle is very elegant and will be a charming addition to my vanity.

Come on guyssssss this smells nothing like baccarat rouge. Please give baccarat a break, not everything smells like it. This is a really nice every day/night signature scent type of perfume, it’s very fresh spicy, clean girl energy and pretty. It’s also quite romantic with a prominent fresh rose note. Quite strong too it’s really nice, this perfume house is honestly excellent.

It doesn't smell like Baccarat rouge 540.... however it smells like Kajal Lamar without the pineapple in it and then people say Kajal Lamar smells like BR540 even though it doesn't really. So that's probably where the comparison comes from... i'd say it's closest to mancera instant crush out of everything

I can see the Baccarat rouge 540 likeness...only just, but to me this is WAY nicer, this is so ethereal and classy & cheaper . It's my 4 th bottle and I get heaps of compliments, men love it.

Um what? waaay too soft, only got a couple hours out of this. I will retest but at the price point I can name at least 10 other brands which are cheaper and perform well. :/

This smells nothing like br540. This smells closer to roses vanille mancera or even intense cafe. Fruity green and jammy rose
