Minuit à New York

Thank you Dora Baghriche for creating this whimsical timeless fragrance. I absolutely L♥V E! L ♥VE ! L♥VE ! I love white flowers so much and having peony in it makes it so delicate!. ....What a incredible experience I had with this one... opening the shiny fuchsia box that is absolutely breathtaking was just one perk. It's beautiful 🌸🌷🌸 with the beautiful swan logo with Gloria Vanderbilt's gorgeous handwriting" signature". It is so very soft and feminine. This is not a toilette like the original yellow juice Vanderbilt though, this one is a parfum but the other one is stronger??!!. This is easily my new signature scent and it is really magical. The bottle is just absolutely stunning. I always loved swans. Its heavy clear glass with the signature swan design engraved in it like the original but it's the 🌷fuchsia magenta colour of this juice that has me captivated.This is my favorite bottle out of my entire collection. I'm surprised it took me this long to find it. Now let's talk about the warm but fruity, white flower bubble gummy soft but also lush scent of this perfume. It is airy and dewy and smells a tad like 💄 lipstick, its a little waxy. It is an exquisite perfume. It is youthful and fun but there is something very mature about it I think it's probably the flowers💐 that make this sent well-rounded. It is uplifting fragrance. It's a Powerhouse too and lasts a long time on my skin. I sprayed it 7 hours ago and it smells like I just sprayed it. The suede is probably what gives this scent a powdery "feel" to it. The sandalwood giving it warmth. I cannot believe that I got this off of eBay for less than $15. It a so pretty I will order another bottle right now before its discontinued. A great year round scent day or night it's very versatile even though the name means "Midnight" in French, this can be worn anytime day or night anytime of the year. If you haven't got this try it I think you'll really like it. Its so feminine and sexy too. I will always have a bottle in my collection. ♥ At first this reminds me of a a more "fruitier"? version of Kim Kardashian original perfume or even a tad like a fruity flowery Sand and Sable or FRACAS... Its the white flowers... so BUBBLEGUM timeless and clean.

Really pleased with this blind buy. The first time I sprayed it (in late winter), I thought it was nice, but maybe smelled a little cheap. Like just a hint. I let it sit several weeks and tried it again (in late spring); it’s lovely, and whatever had given the impression of cheapness was no longer there! It comes to life in warmer weather. It was reminding me of another fragrance: Wonderlust by Michael Kors. I smelled the nozzles of both bottles and they’re very similar; I’ll have to do a spray-and-drydown test, then update this review. But for now, I’d say if you like Wonderlust, you’re likely to enjoy Minuit à New York. One difference between the two that I can point to now, though, is the longevity. Wonderlust has exceptional longevity, while Minuit à New York is pretty fleeting on skin. On clothes, however, it performs pretty well, and projection is actually pretty impressive. It’s a fairly complex (but also fairly linear) floral composition. The hint of patchouli, which doesn’t stand out as a prominent note, gives it that bubblegummy rich sweetness, rounding off any sharp edges and steering it cleanly away from sour notes. But this is not a sweet perfume, per se (nothing like La Vie Est Belle or any of the celebrity/designer gourmands); it sits among the more mature, base-y florals like Wonderlust, L’Interdit, My Way, Dior Joy Intense, etc. For the price, this is such good value. I have pricier perfumes that smell cheaper, and/or have similar performance issues. It’s a safe blind buy at its price point, and is pretty enough both in appearance and fragrance that it’s easily re/giftable, too.

What a fantastic cheap find! Honestly, this smells way more expensive than it is, and it is very modern of the current sweet/floral styles of now, even though it launched in 2015. I get the subtly spicey lily and pink peony, so much so that I wonder if there is a pink pepper note, along with the pink bubble gummy tuberose and creamy gardenia in the floral part. There's then an adoringly sweet amberwoods that comes through in the base, along with what I belive is the hyacinth note, which turns the pink scent to purple. This floral note is light and airy, dewy and, at times, jammy (as it mingles with the bubblegum note in the background). It really works and I wish this stage lasted a bit longer. I finally get a little bit of patchouli on the dry down, but mainly this stays pretty pink/purple florals and all sweetness to my nose. I think as it dries down even more it goes a bit flat on my skin, losing its initial sparkle and body somewhat. However, it continues to be very wearable and beautiful. Really, with the cheap price, I have no issues reapplying it when needed and I get a real sense of joy every time I do. This is a very happy scent that I'm glad I took a gamble on. Highly recomend it to anyone who likes these notes and a pink girly style perfume. Easily a safe blind buy!

Just got this blind buy ($10 US) and so far I quite like it. I've realized here on fragrantica (and IRL) that "cheap" is often a word ppl reach for when they simply don't like something. Well, there are budget paints and brushes and expensive paints and brushes, and in the end it's really the painter/artist that matters the most...same with perfumes in my opinion, at least the majority of the time. All that was to say that this perfume does *not* smell "cheap" and I bet if you put this sweet woody floral in a niche brand bottle that a lot of snoots would sing its praises. Beautiful and creamy soft tuberose/gardenia with wafts of suede and violet in the heart. Woody and amber drydown. Patchouli is not prominent IMO. Elusive whispers of Fracas and something else I can't put my finger on. Sweet. Not tropical. Longevity is medium to medium-low but not dismal. If you like tuberose perfumes you'll probably like this.

A blind buy based on the reviews here, and a good one! Initial impression: very flowery, creamy, warm, sultry, sweet but not to sweet. No fruit, which is good. Patchouli is not noticeable for me, sandalwood is. Friendly and certainly not girly, rather very feminine. A scent for mature women of all ages. Use in moderation, it is potent and long lasting. Seems right for Dutch autumn and winter, it is perhaps too heavy for summer. I have always disliked the original yellow Gloria Vanderbilt fragrance, fortunately this scent is nothing like it. I have the 100 ml, with a transparent bottle. The swan is nicely old-fashioned, but the spray cap looks cheapish and not very solid. Anyway, it is the juice that counts. And it does not smell like any other perfume I know of, which is a huge plus for me. Might be my new signature scent!
