You Rêve

The best thing I’ve ever done is going into the Glossier flankers blind. As a disclaimer, I don’t really consider myself an enjoyer of gourmands, and Doux seemed more in line with my taste on paper. In fact, the mere mention of a lactonic note almost completely turned me away, as they almost always turn sour with my body chemistry. But once I actually tested them both on skin, I found my nose glued to my wrist until I showered that night. Reve is literally addicting to me. I couldn’t stop talking about it until I finally saved up for a bottle of my own. I would leave the house feeling that my outfit is devastatingly incomplete without a cloud of buttery smooth plum and ambroxan trailing me. I would have never picked this out as a signature scent for me until I spent a day with it. It was to my complete disappointment to find that this is a pretty polarizing scent. I’ll admit that I’ve sought out a tiktok or youtube video or two about influencer’s “most complimented fragrances” or “scents pretty girls wear”. I like when people notice that I smell good. It took some effort for me to push slightly against the popular opinion and go all in on this perfume, but that’s how strongly I feel about it. I see the reviews calling it plasticky or possessing an unnamable childlike quality, or comparing it to crayons and lipstick and play doh, and I raise you this: don’t you find yourself guiltily taking in a deep breath when you open a well-loved box of crayons or turning your head when you sense the distinct powderiness of a woman’s lipstick? This sensation married with the perfected Glossier DNA of iris and ambroxan is intoxicating. Maybe I need to smell it on someone else’s skin to understand the disdain for Reve, but for me, this is signature scent worthy. Just try it for yourself.

I received this as a gift and I really love how it smells, I enjoy the medicinal and plastic notes. If an office friendly hello kitty body spray is your thing, you'll like it. It's the overtly capitalist concept of it I find jarring. It's contradictory. Weird but corporate. Captivating and boring. The weird-slightly-freaky-girl version the clean-girl You series, but overly cautious and self conscious. It's wholesome, controlled, unpretentious, refined and squeaky clean yet crude, dark, melancholy and nauseating. Overall there is something truly sad about it. For me Glossier's capitalism chic and corporate friendly scent profile is uninspired and depressing, you can't not envision an entire marketing team conjuring up each note to be as marketable as possible. For this I would not have purchased it myself. The scent is freshly cleaned linen, sugared plum, peppery musk, cough syrup, sandalwood, lip balm, scented pens, nostalgic body spray, lactonic gourmand to tie it all together, and *of course* Glossier's iris trademark. I love the plum, plastic, syrup and cheap elements that cut through the cleaner more refined notes. I find it weird and sickening without actually being weird or sickening.

Like many other reviews have stated, I too was surprised to see that this is a polarizing fragrance. I got a sample kit from Sephora and glossier you reve was one of those samples. Out of all of the fragrances me AND my family adored this one the most. I’m generally a musky/unisex fragrance girl. I love father figure, not a perfume, dedcool milk, and things of that nature, so it was shocking to me that I loved something with so many gourmond notes. And I do absolutely LOVE this. To my nose this has that musky Ambroxin undercurrent with something fun, sweet, and girly on top. My husband even called this one super sexy and date worthy. I reach for this one often and have 20ish full bottles of designer and niche fragrances. It really lasts on my skin and the scent trail it leaves is absolutely heavenly. I wore it to an outdoor event and was asked multiple times what fragrance I was wearing. It is absolutely compliment worthy and over all a lovely fragrance in my opinion. Don’t shy away bc of the negative review before you give it a try for yourself!

I’ve never been massively into skin scents but I did buy You when it was first released, gave it a sniff and that was it, wasn’t impressed at all, now it sits gathering dust in my collection. I then bought Doux when that (and this) was released, again, out of the two, I thought Doux would be more me. Had the same underwhelming reaction I had from the OG. You Fleur got released and - because I don’t ever learn my lesson - I made another blind buy purchase but threw this into my order too. This is the one I would have thought would be least me yet this is the one I LOVE. I don’t get much sweetness from this and absolutely no gourmand at all, but I ADORE it. On me, this means quite androgynous, which I love, there’s an edge to it. It’s the fragrance I love to spray after the shower and can smell it on my PJs the next evening. I love wearing it during the day and for a skin scent, it’s got decent longevity and silage and I get a lot of compliments wearing this. Definitely give it a try and don’t let all the hate reviews put you off.

The haters will say this smells like playdoh. And yes, that may be true, but it is the most delicious playdoh I've ever smelled. Of all the perfumes I've tried, I always return to this one. She's my very favourite. Reve is sweet, a bit powdery, gourmand, and so intimate. When I wear Reve, I feel like the scent is coming from my own skin. Its so warm and it makes me feel beautiful and yummy like a dessert. The downside is that it is fairly weak. It dries down to a very light, almost imperceptible plum vanilla scent. This is a perfume that requires re-application if you intend to be able to smell it for more than 6 hours. Also, if you're a fan of sillage, turn back now - you will not find what you're looking for here. I truly truly truly love this perfume more than I can articulate. I find it intoxicating and delicious. In my heart, this perfume is perfect. I feel like myself when I wear it.

This has a very dear and near place in my heart as my signature fragrance. Upon initial spray, you get notes of buttercream, plum and a subtle sweetness. I've found that after the dry-down the plum and iris notes fade away and you end up with a soft, powdery scent that sits very close to the skin. Personally, I feel like Reve lasts a good while but it definitely doesn't project that well after an hour or so. I end up spraying quite heavily and layer with something ambroxan to enhance the fragrance. My go-to recently has been staring with Dedcool's Milk/Xtra Milk, spraying a generous amount of Glossier's Reve, and then finishing it off with a spritz of Heretic's Florgasm to really accentuate the florals in Reve.

The first time I smelled this fragrance I wasn’t immediately impressed, but not disappointed either. I prefer the Glossier You Doux to this, but after about a year of having Doux, I decided to buy a travel size of reve. I’m extremely glad I did. It opens with this salty, buttery plum scent that immediately reminded me of something I had smelled before. The dry down is where that buttercream note thrives, and settles into the skin with the fruity plum. It’s my go-to scent to wear to sleep, and would layer amazingly with other gourmand scents, although this one isn’t a true gourmand. It’s much more of a clean, soapy, salty sugarplum.

This is my ideal everyday fragrance. This is not a perfume for people who like super-strong projecting perfumes. It sits close to the skin, but is addictive. It opens very sweet, almost like cherry cough syrup. But after a few minutes it develops into a rich plum and buttercream. Then, once dry, the wood notes come out and marry perfectly with the sweetness. It's playful and seductive, but still inoffensive and pleasant. Perfectly appropriate for everyday wear. I can see how fans of Glossier You would be offended by this fragrance at first blush. But I think this is one whose scent develops beautifully over time.

It smells like a kind of liquorice candy (or some fruity candy) that I had when I was a lil kid. I wore this during a winter holiday last year and its such a comforting scent. It stands out in the crisp air, and lingers quite long enough on clothes. Its kind of a weird but likeable scent to me. Its sweetness is nicely mellowed out but not cloying. As well as that, its powdery and musk notes sits intimately. Overall, its a nice sweet musk and skin scent to wear for one's self for cold days. Also, there is just something about this scent that is extremely reminiscent of my childhood that I cannot just place.

I’ll never understand why this You flanker isn’t more popular. I love all the other iterations of Glossier You but this one is really good too!! The sweet, musky, plum kinda reads like a creamy cherry scent. Definitely not a true cherry but that’s the vibe it gives. It comes off so sweet/sexy and the longevity is great. It’s a kind of skin scent, so yeah, you’re not getting crazy beast mode projection, but it lasts me through my whole work day and I don’t get sick of it, I truly enjoy and I get several compliments when I wear this one.

There's something I find so addictive about Rêve...the ambrosian, confectionery smell from the buttercream and plum are really grounded by the pepper and ambroxan. It's more playful and sweet than the original You, but without being saccharine and without straying far from the classic You DNA. If you love amaretto and pepper-forward scents, I think you'd love this. For me, the longevity and sillage are on par with all of Glossier's perfumes, lasting around 4-5 hours.

literally stunning. kind of like if replica's afternoon delight ate a huge, juicy plum. the rich plum smell compliments the buttercream notes beautifully, adding some much-needed depth to what could otherwise be a very standard pastry scent. definitely sprays a bit like cherry chapstick or cough syrup, but it dissipates pretty quickly. i can see why it's a bit polarizing but reve definitely has my heart <3

This is so yummy and spicy and sensual but not so much that you can't wear it regularly. I just love it so much, it has the kind of spiciness that warms your cheeks. I didn't get the grapey-ness some people complain about on my skin. The spice and gourmand was much more prevalent. In my clothes the plum comes through a little more. I was always a fan of You, but this is honestly an even better scent imo.

Smells beautiful. I much prefer this to the regular Glossier You, as I can smell that one yards away yet have never smelt this fragrance on anyone else literally ever. Perfect combination of gourmand and floral and musk. Wore this in Italy and Paris this summer and got millions of compliments from locals. A very luxurious sugar plum fairy smell as if the nutcracker took place in summer in Europe.

Cherry-grapey chapstick/lip product that you uncovered in your caboodle from the 90s. I can see Buffy wearing this to the bronze as cibo matto played. It has a waxy quality going on, some powder. A smooth buttercream with almond in the background. The you dna is present in the dry down. I enjoy how the notes melt into the skin perfectly. All of this works quite nice and appeals to my tastes.

I am slightly addicted to this scent. It’s clean and musky with a little depth. Dry down so good on me. I wfh and will leave the house and upon return I can smell it in the air and it’s so good! Not really gourmand to me which I am glad about as I don’t like gourmands but I love this! The has quickly made its way to one of my top perfumes, along with Omnia Coral and baldafrique by Byredo.

Don’t like the original You and don’t like gourmands, but for some reason I love this. It’s not generically unobtrusive like You or even mass appealing by the modern definition (ie, vanilla 28 or bianco latte or l'eau papier) — I actually find this pretty anachronistic and charactered, it reminds me of girlhood and the early 2000s. More almond than plum IMO, and such a comfort scent.

I don't understand the hate for this scent, maybe it's just a strange take on a gourmand, but this scent is sexy and delicious. Buttery, soft, fluffy, sweet, but still has that spicy-fresh DNA of the OG You. Plum is such an interesting note that I have never seen done like this, nutty and creamy, not overly sugary. This is the underrated best of the You flankers. I crave this scent.

hated it at first, and now i love it. so i guess you just learn to appreciate it the more you wear it? it smells incredibly nostalgic for some reason, it’s creamy but also fruity, in a lip gloss kind of sense. i absolutely love how unique it smells, i don’t think of any perfumes which has the same DNA, which impresses me considering it’s only a “makeup/skincare brand” perfume.

Ok, woah. When you get really interested in any art form, sometimes you start critiquing pieces too close to the medium. Every once in a while a fragrance reminds me to step back from the canvas and enjoy it without thinking too hard about it. Glossier You Rêve did that for me. I wish more people smelled like this! Modern, addicting, approachable... a little sexy? 9/10 :)

not a safe blind buy by any means, it kinda smells like pencil shavings n sweet smelling crayons to me but im obsessed with it idk its yummy n lasts sooooooooooooo long & projects very well!!!! i can put this on at night n still smell it the next morning. love love love this perfume its my fav of the bunch. she is very gorgeous to me!! i don’t understand the reve hate. :/

This grew on me so much. Recently wore it to the gynecologist and when my nurse came to get me she said the whole waiting room smelled delicious and asked to write down my perfume. Then when the doctor came in she also asked what I was wearing. It’s so good. Perfect for when you want a winter “gourmand” that is still more of a skin “you but better” scent.

This is so addicting to me and I am obsessed with the overall warmness. No pencil shavings scent at all. The opening is punchy plum but the dry down is cake frosting. Reve was correctly named as this is truly such a dreamy scent that ticks all of my boxes. One of my current favorites and without a doubt my top pick from the glossier you quadruplets.

this is 10000% the best you flanker. it lasts forever on me, and it's such a pretty, sweet version of the original you. some people are wild in these reviews, I will forever buy this, I don't get burnt plastic at all. it also pairs really well with orebella's nightcap. it smells like icing musk, it's delicious.

i love wearing this one when i go out on a cold day, the plum and iris pair so well together and the dry down is very warm and addictive like the og glossier you. i guess i can understand why a lot of people dislike reve, it does kinda smell like chapstick but i'm weird and i love the waxy quality it has.

I absolutely love this fragrance! It's so sexy, not overwhelmingly sweet. It's very warm, the notes blend very beautifully. Creamy plum, the toasted almond, with the light iris note; I'm a big fan, it's a great fragrance for the colder months. It lasts about 3-5 hours. My favorite from the glossier line!

Call me crazy, but I sprayed this and was immediately transported back to being a tween irl and spraying myself with Juice Bar Cotton Candy body spray. This definitely has more layers and sophistication to it, but those first few minutes are so nostalgic, I might have to buy it just for the memories.

I love this perfume! I don't really smell the Glossier You "DNA" quite as much. It smells kind of like black cherry to me, but not in a cough syrup way. It's sweet, but not too sickly sweet. It still feels bright, although I wouldn't say it's a fresh scent. This is definitely my go to for going out.

Theres something fuzzy about this fragrance. Ambery musky plum buttercream sweet but clean in a velvet, suede sort of way. Its not as strong as i would like tho. If anyone is looking for an inspiration sand and fog has a perfume oil called "Soft Skin" its a 1 to 1 du pe of you reve but stronger.

totally smells like playdough and crayons and plum in a way i never would expect to be so obsessed with. is delicate and very sexy feminine in a super mysterious way (in my opinion). i feel like such a cool girl when i wear this; gives very wearing capris and kitten heels in soho vibes. love it

Absolutely lovely - smells less like a true gourmand and more like a sugar plum fairy to me. Warm, inviting, and powdery from that Glossier You DNA with juicy plum and a waxy/frosted quality from the buttercream note. Perfect Christmas scent especially for the Nutcracker girls.

Whoever manages this site really needs to take out the lipstick fever comparison. It obviously lost the vote! And nobody says this smells like cherries, because it doesn't. Nor does it smell like that abomination lipstick fever. This brand is way underappreciated

It's very hard for me to describe what it makes me feel. It's like hugging someone I love. It has a very beautiful skin scent. The most beautiful one in the series is definitely Reve. You definitely can't hate it. If you do, the problem lies with your nose.

I dont know what it is but I LOVE this. It really grew on me. Mind you as someone NOT an expert in fragrance this smelled very unique to me, its actually better than You. Hate Doux. Haven't tried Fleur. Its a very inoffensive plum-y dark fruit smell.

Also tried this today at Glossier Boston!!! I’m a gourmand h8r but this really shocked me. I will be buying this, not the white one. It’s so sexy and addictive. The plum note isn’t like a sickening cough syrup moment it’s sophisticated.

definitely sweet and sugary in a way that i cant get enough of. i LOVE this take on you! (tied for first with fleur) although i dont know if the base notes really suit me that much so i cant say i plan on getting a full size as of now

I went to the store to smell and buy the original You, but upon smelling it I really didn’t like it on my skin, so I tried this one, and really loved it! Smells a bit like expensive lipstick and I’m here for that

dreams of sugar plum fairies ✨ a little waxy, sure, but it’s in a way i find absolutely addicting; reminiscent of cosmetics. reminds me a little bit of hypnotic poison or mmmm by JHAG, but softer & sweeter.

Loveee. Subtle, warm, sweet, very faintly woody. Sprayed a little on post-shower in my pjs and was delighted to wake up and feel the scent lingering on me. I think she's a winner for my day-to-day.

I honestly was surprised how much I loved this. To me it's very unique and not a 'boring' scent. Notes are unlike anything I've smelled before. Wish it lasted longer tho!

smells like a cherry tootsie pop mixed with a really nice smelling shampoo... really delicious but sometimes feels a little bit too immature and fruity
