Jackal

Makes me think of a drizzling late afternoon in New Orleans. Suggestive mix of spice, chocolate, and patchouli. Not the longest lasting, but strong for the opening act. Might stain white clothes. I'm on my second bottle.

I get dark chocolate and some sweet notes at first, with a hint of what's to come: some very well blend patchouli (I normally loathe patch but I can handle it if it's not prominent - when it is a complement to other notes and not front and center) and other notes that come together to give off a dark "je ne sais quoi." I'd say I don't pick up on tobacco or smoke or something earthy or woody per se, but I think these notes/qualities blend together to make the scent edgy and more complex. Although I love chocolate, it's not normally my kind of fragrance as I see the notes listed. However, I'm definitely enjoying my sample. Although I generally find gender in scent (or other aspects of life) to be b.s., I would say that even those that normally do categorize scents as more feminine or masculine would agree that this is unisex.

This what Smell Bent tried making with Hungry Hungry Hippies but couldn't do properly. It's a dark scent that definitely feels unisex, I get a good bit of patchouli, chocolate and sweet woodsy smell. I definitely see it working in cooler moodier conditions over bright hotter days. Has moderate longevity at least within me being inside my house for longer than 10 hours. I would consider getting a full bottle of this from the samples of Goest I have tried so far.

This is probably one of the only Goest scents I have still have in my thoughts and even sprayed the aging sample on me the other day. I really enjoy this scent, but I know this is not something I can really wear with others (strangers and acquaintances) around me. It's just a semi-sweet dark chocolate patchouli scent. A full bottle would be redundant as it's a fleeting experience.

This is all about chocolatey patchouli, chocolate, boozy vanilla, and woods. I also get resins, so I'm a bit shocked that amber or other resins aren't listed in the note breakdown. Although it's a dark fragrance, it's not loud. If you're a fan of patchouli-centric fragrances, then this is one to try.

Makes me feel a little sexy and dangerous, in a dark, masculine way. However, it didn't last long on my skin. An enjoyable affair I'm unlikely to repeat.

the way the chocolate is mixed with patchouli gave me the impression of a zoo, and not in a good way.... if i try to parse out the individual notes it's actually not terrible because i can make sense of what i'm smelling, but if someone walked past me wearing this i would wonder if they had just been rolling around in an animal enclosure ....
