Silky Woods Harrods Exclusive

This has a lot in common with the original Silky Woods. It's a tad darker and probably performs better (will need to have a few wearings to determine that) but it's very much the same blueprint as the original. For me that isn't a problem, I love Silky woods and having a slightly different iteration of it suits me just fine. Might be redundant though for anyone who isn't a big fan of the original. It's the 3rd incarnation of Silky woods so Goldfield and Banks know they are onto a winner with this DNA. Highly recommended

This is the same as the normal silky woods, just a different Harrods exclusive design. I've smelt both, they are the same and this is confirmed by the brand.

Silky Woods EDP opens immediately with a strong but smooth oud note that has just the tiniest amount of sweetness in it. Accomining this oud note is a mix of sweet, slightly spicy woody note & there is also a light tobacco note in the background. The tobacco note is a fresh tobacco note to my noise instead of a dried or burnt tobacco note. The main note of Silky Woods is oud and while not unpleasant; it is quite dominant. Every other note in Silky Woods is in the background and blended in with the oud here. The performance on Silky Woods is surprisingly low for a fragrance that is so strongly oud. It lasted 7 hours on my skin and even less on my clothing; I’d say 4 to 5 hours there. It gets a 6/10 for longevity. The protection was also surprisingly low, it never radiated more then a foot off my skin and spent most of its life there before starting to fade off at hour 5 & vanishing at hour 7. A 7/10 for projection. Silky Woods is a good into to oud fragrance but it’s not really for me. While the oud is good; the tobacco not is just not appealing. I don’t hate it, it just doesn’t really inspire me to pick it up again either. I do really appreciate the smooth present oud, so it’s a 4/10 overall.

This sounds like my version of Silky Woods! I have sampled the original several times and every time I found it too much and too masculine. The addition of ylang ylang and frankincense gives me hope that it is more feminine leaning than the original! Very excited and curious to try...

Omg love at first sniff! I was able to order online and it got to me in no time! Absolutely love love love Harrods Silky woods. I don’t think this leans masculine at all, I think it’s perfectly unisex and a nice spicy woody scent that I can’t stop smelling my wrist.

Seeing people proclaim to detect differences is so cringe, especially when I’ve been by the brand personally that there’s no difference in formula, just a special edition bottle.

Yes very smooth I see why it is called Silky. Quite sweet though and has that particular airy sweet quality that I don’t enjoy ~ something ambroxan-ish.

As other have said, it smells a lot like the original but with a bit more depth. The Dapper shmoop for this is spot on.
