Eclat Noir

What you see is what you get. It smells like black forest cake. It opens with cognac and cherries. The cognac is not too strong; it is just there, which is perfect. The cherry is one of the best additions; if you really pay attention, it does not smell too sweet; it smells like how a cherry would smell when you bite into it. On the dry down, you'll smell like a chocolate cake, which lasts 12hrs+. When I tried it on my hand, I washed it a couple of times, and the scent was still there a few hours later. When you touch it, it will get transferred to the other surfaces.

The opening smells like a photorealistic Black Forest Cake (cherry, chocolate, and a touch of booziness). I catch whiffs of patchouli in the drydown. I'm not really into gourmands, but I love this. Scent: 10/10 Projection: 8.5/10 Longevity: 8.5/10

After months of contemplating, I finally decided to cave in and buy myself a bottle of Eclat Noir. As someone who likes gourmands, the notes are surely right up my alley. Safe to say, I wasn’t disappointed. Eclat Noir opens up like a sweet booze. I am an occasional alcohol drinker, and cognac isn’t exactly my booze of choice when I’m having a good time with friends so I’m afraid I can’t accurately describe how it’s supposed to smell like. And then after a few seconds, I get that whiff of a black forest cake but mostly in the air, not on my skin. When that dissipates, you’ll get that tartness from the cherries. Thankfully, it’s not a “cough syrup” type of cherry that I’m aversed to but rather, it’s like smelling cherries when you soak them in rum. I also pick up the bitterness from the cacao. The drydown is a perfect blend of that warm, ambery vanilla with a slight hint of musk. There’s also the earthiness from the patchouli that adds an interesting layer and balance to sweet facets. It is also, surprisingly, powdery in texture - like a finely milled cocoa powder. The projection is also quite strong, and I have this nice scent bubble around me even after hours of spraying it. Given the heavy scent profile, this is very much a nighttime and cold weather scent. Longevity is also impressive, lasting 8-9 hours on skin and longer on clothes. I haven’t really dabbled much into local perfumery, I’m ashamed to say. I am now actually trying to, and I’m honestly impressed with this composition. It makes me more hopeful for the future of Philippine perfumery.

My first niche local perfume and my Father absolutely loved it! In the first minutes after spraying, it smells like beer/rum. Boozy, vanilla, gourmand, and if you love the smell of black forest cake, you'll absolutely love this. Very High quality considering its cheap price too. That's all, more reviews to come

Smells like a celebration in a nice, speakeasy bar. The black forest on the table with people clinking their glasses of rum over a good catch up. Not really a huge fan of boozy fragrances, but this one I can tolerate. I only do two sprays and usually mix it with other fragrance because this stuff is stroooong.

Immediately got hit with the Cognac note before quickly transitioning into a sweet chocolate. Honestly, this fragrance made me hungry. The dry down is a beautiful mix of cacao, vanilla, and the rum note balancing out the sweetness. As someone who usually dislikes gourmands, this is an exception in my book.

Pretty good! It does capture the black forest cake vibe. It's sweet and slightly boozy. It actually got stronger after I used it again after almost a year. Stuck to my clothes even the day after. For those who like gourmand scents, you will probably enjoy this. Better for cold weather.

This is a very strong perfume. Tried it once I got it and wore it last Christmas. I am a gourmand person who likes to smell like cookies and pastry. This doesn't really smell like a black forest chocolate cake, but more like a sweet booze. The cognac is very strong and it's overpowering other scents I layered it with. Two sprays are more than enough and I can still smell it after a week on my clothes. I live in the coldest city in the Philippines and this is more of a sensual dinner-night scent for me. Not a good blind buy but it is a good perfume overall.

The cherry in the opening leans slightly cough syrupy but saved by the cacao, vanilla, and amber with a drop of booziness then dries down into typical black forest cake. Here in the philippines we have this black forest bar cake called Quake, this perfume smells exactly like that. Not the smoothest nor highest quality but for its price, worth the money.

I was looking to buy a special occasions fragrance and unfortunately these went out of sale. I wanted to finally get one so bad.
