Vetiver

A nice surprise, i bought It blind after some social media buzz and i'm very happy i did. It's mostly woody, and the violet is very proeminent. Clean, comfortable, elegant. Very different from anything i have and it'll be my signature for the rest of the year. It truly suits all genders nicely.

Woody and leathery vetiver. Performance isn't too great but for the price i'm not complaining. It's very linear and most of the notes listed here are completely nonexistant. Not anywhere as serious as guerlain's vetiver making it more wearable. Safe first vetiver fragrance. Edit: after more wears i've began to find this quite vegetal or more specifically cucumbery making it green, fresh, clean and almost aquatic. Very nice fragrance for a rainy summer day. Tbh i prefer this over guerlain vetiver.

Smells very clean, powdery and slightly soapy for the first hour. This vaguely floral, powdery note is the violet, I suppose. It's beutiful. Then the vetiver strarts to actually appear, and the scent becomes smokier. This clean, smoky vetiver dry down lasts for hours and hours on my skin, although very close to it. Very pleasantly dry - and almost austere - all along.

I blind-bought this based on Eddie Bulliqui's review and was very pleased with it. It is subtle and delicate and foregrounds the vetiver nicely while just containing the right amount of violet, tiare and lily to keep it light and airy without turning it into a bouquet.

This was a blind buy because I like Vetivers, I like this brand, and it was half price on their website. I'm not at all keen on it though. Perhaps it's a batch issue because I can't see that anyone else has mentioned it, but to me the pepper is completely overwhelming, I can barely get anything else from it, including Vetiver. Just strong, harsh pepper. Definitely a dud for me.
