Cabochard Chérie

First test review, may add to this as time goes on... I just received as a blind buy and couldn’t wait to test this. It’s one I’ve looked over for some time but finally decided to get. I was concerned if it might end up being too Vintage smelling for me... it’s definitely not that. At first spray I was in love, I didn’t find it very strong initially so I oversprayed a bit. At first I felt this is not close to anything I own, very chic, fresh and lightly sweet, a lovely mix hard to distinguish at first separate notes all blended, then I get the bergamot, pear, narcissus and light sweetness, it’s warm late spring/summery day and it feels so very uplifting it really boosted my mood 😀, as it developed a little if feels cosy and comforting and really delicious but getting sweeter. I hit the love on this page immediately! But... I have to say it has really adapted over 1/2 hour quite a bit now... it quickly became very patchouli heavy on my skin and also praline forward, it very quickly then seemed more caramel scented and 100% reminiscent of Orissima to my nose! The patchouli caramel and orange blossom are there but I’m not getting leather at all. I’m not mad about it as I do love orissima but it’s a real shame because I was expecting something different ... and now I feel it is getting sweeter and sweeter very quickly like sweeties and patchouli only and slightly overpowering and yes I get what a below review says... a teeny bit nauseating... so now for me it is not chic anymore in the way I felt initially / or in the way of lovely Orissima. I’m sad I’ve lost the fresh citrus, can’t find basil or narcissus orange blossom anymore at all... I have left it as a love for now, but maybe need to experiment with this a little more. My nose is a bit confused what has happened right now in such a short time 😂! Maybe it’s the warm weather or lotion I have on my skin, definitely going to try this in other circumstances . Right now I have a real itch to add something to it though... to bring back more balance to it.

This fragrance and its bottle are literally the embodiment of French charm. The beautiful bottle made of heavy glass, the beautiful bow and the lid could not be more French. The scent itself is sweet chypre, sweet pears, bergamot, freesia, daffodils, pralines, leather notes and good amount of patchouli. I also smell quite a strong incense there, although it is not mentioned in the composition. Modern yet vintage. This is the scent of a young Parisian woman who lives in an historical apartment with high ceilings, has artistic friends, goes to chanson clubs in the evenings and is terribly chic. I have read this fragrance compared to Miss Dior Chérie, but the similarity is minimal. This fragrance is much more original and captivating. Edit 06/16/2024: Surprisingly delicious in the summer heat. I don't even know how I thought of trying this perfume on my wrist in the hot summer. I originally classified it as a spring perfume, more suited to the cooler spring. I had the spontaneous idea to try it in the heat and to my surprise, it unfolded as beautifully as never before. I've found with a number of winter-heavy perfumes that they work surprisingly well on me in the summer and even better than they do in the winter. I'll probably start testing more winter fragrances in the upcoming hot season.

After smelling this for the first time, I thought it went wrong and badly! I really couldn’t comprehend what they has been sought with this? and to whom is this being marketed? I allready had orginal Cabochard and this was soo far away... I couldn’t have guessed that one day I would consider back up on this. 😝 I'm probably the wrong person to recommend this, my taste may be a little "on the edge", and someone else can smell this completely different, but... For me this opens with a cool, almost cold herb note with a natural pear. That pear quickly turns to like emaciated champagne when that "on praline drowned Cabochard" attacks the rings. The scent dries into a very playdough, waxy praline with cleanliness Cabochard and fluffy pear champagne. This stay near to skin, but leave trail and the longevity is just great! I think that this is easy to use, office friendly and unique, but not necessarily a compliment collector. I love it.

Finally decided to buy this as I had my eye on it for about 2 years. All I can say is that this is a wonderful fragrance, so elegant and feminine. Gres is a wonderful perfume house that should get more love, their perfumes are outstanding for the price you pay for them. I would say that Cherie is similar to Christelle Eau Verte but with more florals. I think this fragrance would be wonderful in spring and summer but you could wear it at any time of the year. Edit: I have now used up most of my 100ml fragrance and I still love it! I have literally used this every day for a month and am going to be buying a new bottle very soon. I agree totally with the reviewer above mine. It is french sophistication, signature scent worthy and the bottle is just gorgeous too!

Okay so... yes I love it! But also... I was surprised to love it because the original Cambochard is soo different. The one thing they do have in common though is the orchestral symbiosis within their notes. This has better lasting power and sillage, but even then I had to spray the hell out of it (I used it on my fake flowers). I think I’ll be getting this and the original formulation again. My Mum, who is my second nose (birthing somehow gave her the nose of bloodhound) has commented on how dated my recent purchases have been. But I like this. I like lasting power and staying power, that has to do more with quality than technology... That said, this really is the ‘ féminin ultime’ when it comes to perfume. Hm... I think I like Gres.

Cabochard Cherie.....IMO....is a touch of Cabochard EDT.....Coco Madmoiselle....Miss Dior Cherie...and, yeah, Valentino Donna also. The original Cabochard is one of my favorites of all time....so this flanker was a no brainer for me..lol. This does not directly smell like any of them...but the "vibes of" are there inter-twining. A modern chypre type scent,which has some greeness. I do get the narcissus...pear...orange blossom...but not prominently. This was an instant like at first sniff....and it goes thru subtle changes while on the skin. A leathery vibe comes thru in the dry down...but it is smooth leather and more subtle than in original Cabochard. Easy to like and also performs rather well so far.

It's honestly the cousin of Chanel Cristalle Eau Verte and Mademoiselle and I LOVE it! Its feminine with a musky base, so good, so addicting, so pink and green. As I smell it more, at first it has an ever so slight medicinal undertone, but it doesn't bother me! It is not a 'mature' or 'dated' scent. I have ordered a sample and I now HAVE to have to whole bottle. However, I remember that I used to hate Cristalle Eau Verte (Chanel) when I was in my 20s, it smelled like grass to my untrained nose, and this is pretty much a dupe of that, so I recommend buying a sample first. It's a 9/10 for me, one of those fragrances you'd never get enough of. Perfect for summer, luxurious scent.

This is the perfume that I hesitate to wear for everyday occasions as going to university or or to the shop. This is the one I reach to with events hosted at night, dates and parties, worn with red lipstick and a long black dress. It is no wisp, whatever the name chérie suggests, she blends beautifully in colder months especially delicious with rain, or a room full of smoke. She has a mature seriousness, complicated and ballanced - I think letting her sit in the dark closet would make it even more complex and warm. The cabochard perfume for me, nothing like cabochard gres which smelled like a loud tobacco and male sweat mess.

Now THIS is office siren. She wears a black lace bra under her silk blouse. LVEB wishes she was her. She’s got a feud with Miss Dior at reception but we all know who’s the winner. She’s related to Chance Eau Tendre but dirtier—she’ll make out with you in the back of your car after happy hour. The bottle is beautiful, a pleasure to hold, nice and heavy smooth glass and a little bow. The lasting power and projection put pricier perfumes to shame. It’s complicated and beautifully blended, narcissus, leather and praline being the standout notes for me. I don’t own anything else quite like it and I’ll be reaching for it often.

I think this perfume is interesting because of the chocolate note. It's not a modern praline, it's not sweet and gourmandy it's a very herbal leathery chocolate. In the beginning it does give of cabochard vibes (I hate the original cabochard) then when it dries down I just smell leather and chocolate. I am letting it macerate because my tester smelled much more chocolatey and warm and cozy while the full new bottle I bought doesn't yet. EDIT After a couple of months in the closet I love this! An herbal leathery chocolate is the best way I can describe it. I think it works for any season.

This is stunning, I am so glad I got it. Cabochard leathery goodness but in a lovely sparkly summery cocktail with a surprisingly bright and upbeat punch of patchouli - which I love and find very feminine here - and then light, sweet top notes layered over it: I think I get the orange blossom and the praline more than the pear, it is definitely super sweet and fluffy against that beautiful Cabochard leather. It's like a pink girly summer take on one of my spicy favourites and, as someone who totally fails at summery girly perfumes, I am totally HERE FOR THIS.

I love this! One of my comfortable first choices on an unremarkable day. I find the bergamot to be appropriately understated for a "girly" scent (I'm a musk, leather, Arabian or Paloma Picasso kind of character). The basil is just enough to give this a unique and likeable character and the flowers and praline round it out into a warm fuzzy pink dumb reach for me. It goes into the ambroxan type emotional impact catagory without a noticable note of ambroxan. I just wish it had more staying power. Just ordered a backup so I can spray away.

No expectations. I came into this having no expectations and this one surprised me. Its perfectly weighted, not too light or too heavy. The echo of Cabochards base of leather, patch bitterness contrasts off the sour bergamot/praline note. The freesia/jasmine florals are bright and add interest. I think its a great release for the brand. This is not the heavy banal fruitchouli or syrupy suffocating gourmand. The bottle is beautiful and just wish they used a grey bow as a nod to the past.

This was not an instant love for me; this is something I had to sit with for a few hours, re-read the notes and come on here and read others’ reviews. I was previously purely a gourmand gal but my tastes are leaning more to more interesting scents than just sweetness. Someone further down wrote that this perfume is the office siren wearing a white silk shirt with a black bra underneath. To me, that description is this perfect for this fragrance!

This might be a perfume that smells better as it ages (no vanilla, but can patchouli age?), either that or it's just grown on me more and more. I find Cherie unique, it deserves more attention from perfume lovers. Gorgeous bottle and small price, and blows many more expensive perfumes out of the water. If Prada or Dior bottled it, I wonder what people would think! But I guess for now I'll just be happy with my stinky little secret 💚

This is such a beautiful scent. It has an almost old fashioned amount of patchouli, but when mixed with the pear and praline, gives a dewy morning rose scent that I adore. This reminds me of 212 Sexy by Carolina Herrera. The notes are different, but that warmth and old fashioned floral feel is there and I am living for it at the moment.

She's definitely related to Cabochard, I'd call it an entry-level leather. Cherie is sweeter and more floral, & therefore more modern--but not too trendy. I think vintage lovers will like this, but don't expect it to be as dry as Cabochard. It layers beautifully with Cabochard edt or edp.

Cabochard Cherie on this 82F day is a slightly fruity, sweet leather and patchouli. Divine! So beautiful. A worthy flanker of original Cabochard which is one of my favorite perfumes. Gorgeous with great longevity. Good signature scent. The value is unbelievable.

Other than its name, there is little in this frag that resembles the original Cabochard. I would cast the original scent out of your mind entirely and judge this one as a completely distinct scent profile. You might find the opening to be discordant at first as I did. I was disappointed upon first spray, as the praline and basil (?) battled it out on my skin. I like strong leather scents, but found it to be all but missing. I was ready to give this a very mediocre rating. However... I've paid close attention to its progression so I could review it fairly. The wonky, unsettled notes at the beginning mature beautifully and settle into a nice blended composition. Though I have a practiced nose, I have trouble picking out specific notes as they are that enmeshed with each other. The best I can describe it is a full-bodied, grounded, floral with a hint of (pear/basil/bergamot) freshness. The patchouli is there, but it isn't dirty or overpowering. While Cabochard Cherie isn't groundbreaking, it is unique in a subtler way; I constantly sniff my wrists and clothes just to enjoy its sophisticated evolution as it dries down. I feel good wearing it. Longevity is good. Sillage is moderate--not intimate, but not a "room broom" either. I wear truly unisex scents, and definitely think this is feminine; do not, however, expect a sugary, syrupy-sweet gourmand. I strongly like, but not quite love, this one. Overall rating is 7.5/10 Edit: While I strongly disagreed at first, I can see the resemblance to Miss Dior (I just finished my bottle of that one) after a few hours of settling onto the skin. However, I like this one a bit better.
