Hysterica

Uhm Hmm - it's a YES for me! This has to be one of the most gorgeous and feminine fragrances that I own! Stunning, and intoxicating, yet still unique - I don't have anything that smells like this. The opening is honey, and even more honey (in fact, this honey made me think of JPG's Scandal By Night, but it is definitely a more intense honey than that); but there's this tropical/fruity-esque, bubble gummy, beautiful floral drizzle that creeps in w/in minutes. And I'm telling you, it is so beautiful... The fragrance wears on and I can still smell the opening, but PLUM w/ drops of liquor are there also, adding another lovely twist to this beautiful fragrance. And I say "drops of liquor," b/c to me it's only a hint of the liquor - there to simply supplement your fragrance bubble but not completely take it over; and it accomplishes just that! Around the 6-7hr mark, the one spray that I placed on my wrist to sample has dried down to still house this beautiful honey note, with some woods and light powder. Thoroughly enjoyed this!!

This has such mixed reviews I wanted to add my own. I received Hysterica in this mornings post. I adore it. Rich honey, juicy plum and a gorgeous tuberose. It's unashamedly sweet, pretty and strong! I have sprayed a couple of sprays without letting it settle down from being posted, let alone macerate. The first hour is intense but it's such a happy scent I don't mind. It is the colour pink in a bottle- exploding with femininity and joy. The dry down is so far even nicer. The vanilla, woods and gardenia come in and sit perfectly under the sugary top notes, opening up and rich, warm scent. I want to hug myself while I'm wearing it. This is a love for me! If you don't like tuberose/bubblegum than this is not for you. It's probably not blind buy safe (although I did), unless like me you love every note listed.

Don’t buy this if you’re not fabulous enough to pull it off hahaha! This is a bold scent that’s full of personality. I personally love abstractions in scents because I consider myself a creative and outspoken type and I love fashion and have a strong sense of personal style. This fragrance opens with a sharper synthetic sweetness that feels slightly musky, very sweet and powdery. After a few minutes on the skin it starts to settle into a powdery and spicy tuberose with a sweet honey liqueur and wood base sprinkled with a dusting of powdery pink bubblegum. It’s what I like to call a “chewy floral” it’s got bite and it’s bold,sexy and intriguing. If you don’t want to smell like you own the room- then skip this one!

I get mostly plum, liquor and honey, it's very pretty and boozy and sort of quirky, too, but it doesn't last as long as the other Gritti perfumes I have. I still love it though, and not every perfume needs to be beast mode. Unfortunately I smell none of the bubble gum myself. It projects moderately for a couple of hours and then fades to a skin scent. The bottle is gorgeous. Edit: I have to edit my earlier review, now a year later this perfume is STRONG. With 2 sprays you definitely feel it all around you, 3 sprays is too much. I have noticed Gritti perfumes among others become stronger with time.

I became obsessed with Duchessa earlier this winter. (My first Gritti perfume purchase.) I am not typically one for a bubble gum tuberose note, yet Hysterica has me hooked! I heard/read/saw someone call it a "Mad Hatter" fragrance. It is definitely that! It starts off a bit unusual, then it gets stranger and stranger and unlike anything I've ever smelled. By the dry down, it has me all in. This is definitely not for everyone, yet it seems to have me in its clutches. I cannot get enough of this delicious juice, and will for sure be buying a full bottle.
