Aqua Allegoria Flora Nerolia

This one is surely an overlooked treasure. The word "natural" comes to mind immediately. Heady orange blossom disperses right out of the bottle, hyper-realistic and blissful as the real thing. This is good, and I mean it - this is Diorissimo-level realism! Ever so gently, the focus moves from orange blossom to the scent of Thai jasmine. It could actually be any of several of the miscellaneous species of flowering bush that are called "jasmine," but it's not the typical perfume variety. It really smells like a walk in a subtropical garden in the morning. This doesn't make the mistake of being too high-pitched or too indolic - this is the look and feel of real, and it couldn't be more pleasing. After a while, some base notes must show through! There is a prominent orange flower note in the base along with what seems to be a very delicate incense-musk structure. It could alternatively be cashmeran. It's just the slightest touch, though - an undercurrent to add a touch of darkness to the otherwise blindingly light fragrance. There is no powder or heaviness here; just sunlight and silk. Gorgeous, unfussy, versatile, subtle, refreshing, calming - this is the best of the Allegoria series. Please do spray this one on fabric so you can really savor its development!

So I ordered this and the package got lost in the post and ended up sitting on the wrong person's porch for 3 weeks in Arizona during a heat wave. By the time it reached me I knew it would be all cooked to death and broken down, so I left it in the box. Yesterday I opened it and OH MY GOSH the cooking treatment gave it a rich, sexy EDGE that I can't get enough of. It has a sour note on first spray that reminds me of the way my mouth tasted after I had surgery, but after about five seconds all those bad parts vanish. It morphs into a luxurious, dangerous sort of neroli with sweet fresh nectar rising around it like a narcotic evening mist. As it dries the two halves become more independent, you catch a whiff of one and then the other a bit later, like those sand toys where two colors of sand refuse to mix. It fades away slowly, a spritz on either wrist lasted from 7 am to late in the evening for me, and other people were still noticing it then. What will I do when I run out of my cooked bottle? I don't know if I could deliberately cook a bottle, but if this is the result it might be worth it.

What a nice surprise, on my skin the jasmine is the most prominent note. The orange blossom and jasmine are sweet, succulent, natural essences that blend wonderfully together, but backing up... Floral Nerolia (just rolls off your tongue doesn’t it) opens with a woody neroli, a huge bloom of it, and it slowly wears into the jasmine. Now this jasmine is not indolic, but it does have a thick nighttime vibe. I can describe it only like this—it smells like there is something going on beyond the jasmine, something that you can sense but not detect, and you are determined to find out what it is. The jasmine is backlit by the orange blossom, and they work in harmony for most of the perfume. The dry down is woody, with a small hint of incense musk. Like LovingtheAlien says, it is almost cashmere like in texture, nothing is harsh or synthetic. This doesn’t wear that loudly but lasts at least 8 hours, pretty respectable in my opinion. Fantastically done and perfect natural, simple perfume, just like the Aqua Allegorias are supposed to be.

I can't believe how good this is. This isn't fake orange or bitter orange zest. This isn't harsh or abrasive. The neroli and jasmine blend beautifully to make this both creamy and bright at the same time. I would say that the jasmine is very prominent and it reminds me of Serge Lutens La Nuit, but less waxy. It develops beautifully on me and it becomes more complex throughout the day. It also projects and lasts longer than I expected. The first time I wore it, I got a compliment, "It smells like flowers in here!" It was me!! Tee hee.

This perfume is amazing! To me it's pure white jasmine and jasmine is one of my favorite notes. It is so realistic, like standing next to a jasmine bush. But the best thing about it is, that I can smell jasmine whenever I want, and I don't have to wait for jasmines to bloom...I am so happy to own a big bottle!Woo Hoo!!!

I absolutely love this perfume - gorgeous neroli at the beginning and then jasmine as well. Such a soft clean fresh scent - although it does get slightly too soapy for my liking. However, still my favourite type of floral. One of those scents where I can't stop smelling myself when I'm wearing it because it's so lovely.

Wearing Flora Nerolia makes me happy; it is such an uplifting, joyous scent that spraying it onto my skin immediately improves my day. It sparkles and shines, like a floral ray of sunshine, and is absolutely perfect for Summer days and nights. Beautiful, complete, all I want and having it is, somehow, enough.

My favorite floral. I feel so much jasmine in it! It is just like the smell of a bush of italian jasmine comming from the windows of my house. It is so calming. I use it to go to sleep.

Very photorealistic Neroli, the whole tree, fruit and blossom.... very green, very bitter with the petitgrain blast in the opening, plus an indolic jasmine which packs quite a punch. A very bright, summery and fresh option, with a glimpse of nectar and honey during the dry down. It seems like it's too much at first when you spray, before It rapidly settles, calming down into a much more gentle natural, reminding me of Profumum Roma's 'Neroli' and Hiram Greens 'Dilettante' in it's more true to life composition. I don't get much of the Olibanum base here, which is apparently in this scent and, sadly, it just doesn't last very long at all on me, wearing quite close to the skin with minimal projection (although this is much improved in hot weather). I was going to let mine go, having it up on ebay for a while, but I've taken it down as summer approaches. Both the Profumum Roma and Hiram Green are much better examples, and once I have gotten hold of a full bottle of either (or both) I will probably let this offering off Guerlain go to a new home. (Edit - I sold my bottle now, as I got hold of the other ones.)

For some reason, neroli oil and perfumes in which neroli figures heavily always remind me of marijuana. Not that I have been around much of that substance lately, but associative olfactory memory is apparently quite strong! Guerlain's AA FLORA NEROLIA is no exception to the rule. However, I love the way this simple yet pleasing combination dries down to a calmer floral shortly after the initially surprising spritz. The neroli does, however, dominate throughout. FLORA NEROLIA is a completely unisex fragrance, in my opinion. It's not a scent that I would want to wear every day, but now and then I appreciate this dry brown grassy scent. I would advise against wearing this fragrance on days when you are carrying controlled substances on your person...

This is a lovely fragrance for spring and summer. The jasmine plays nicely with the neroli. On my skin, jasmine is the dominant note. One caveat - it is a very indolic jasmine, as is the orange blossom. It's right up to the very edge for how much indole I can tolerate. It stays on the side of dirty, sexy, and animalic without crossing the line into fecal territory. I strongly recommend you try before buying. As for longevity and silage, well, it's an AA, so it stays close to the skin as it dries down, and disappears completely around the four hour mark. It does become sweeter and cleaner as well. I really like it, but I don't think it's for everyone.

I'm always looking for something that reminds me of Narcisse Noir, since it's so incredibly hard to get. This captures some of the notes from NN, but is less animalic. It's somehow fresher but less airy. I assume because it's mostly neroli while NN has more narcissus and less neroli? The longevity is incredibly poor though. Even on clothing it disappears quickly. But it's lovely and refreshing while it lasts. I keep trying to layer it with something to give it a more animalic edge and make it last longer. I wish it had some actual base notes so it would hang around more. Narcissus and neroli seem to disappear quickly on me in general, though.

I have been slowly collecting all family era Guerlains and just got this one. Its lovely. Quite subtle, close to the skin white floral, doesn’t shout loudly but its very comfortable, elegant, soft sunshine to surround yourself with in the summer or late spring. Well blended, none of the notes is particularly prominent, equal balance of the slightly indolic jasmine and the freshness of neroli rendering the combination into a comfortable equilibrium. I have to say that I do miss the excellence of old school Guerlain in this day of loud, not layered/non-developing scents. Quality never goes out of style..

What a sting you get right after first spray!.. I like it, the way I like most floral orange-y scents: it may not be used very often, but I consider it a Musthave in my wardrobe. A very close sister of Lutens Fleurs d'Oranger, but this is even more a 'one of a kind' type of perfume. It has a vibe of very old times, of simple white cotton dresses (when, if ever, will I start wearing those?) and of rural surroundings, even stables, which is GOOD in my book.

I am very surprise how much i like this. I am not usually a floral fan; however it is just lovely. For me the jasmine is the dominant note followed up equally by nerolia and orange blossom. I agree with the louanne and lovingthealien it is very realistic floral with excellent longevity. The floral is so vivid it almost has a green note. If you like the notes listed you'll love it if you manage to find a bottle

This is a lovely aromatic citrus that leans unisex, and has more character than Nerolia Bianca, which, by comparison, smelled syrupy and synthetic- it is holding up well against the wintry weather, with decent longevity and potency- it is more bitter than sweet, and leaves a nice soapy trail in its wake- Highly recommended for lovers of this genre-

Just a lovely fume. I adore this stuff. It's bright, bubbly, but has a musky salty edge on my skin. The dry down smells like a flowery ambergris on me, which I love. This is just a gorgeous little orange blossom. I highly recommend.

This Neroli is close to the real thing! I love wearing in during summer, because the fragrance lifts me up & makes me alert during heat-waves.

Gosh-a big, big blast of orange blossom that is soon overwhelmed with jasmine. This has a lot of ooomph behind it, feminine but loud and brassy. I love the neroli and orange blossom, but the jasmine is just too much for me-its a note I can only take in small doses and this isn't a small dose. It starts out very clean and fresh, sharp and tangy then settles to overwhelming jasmine. After about 4 hours it becomes a little soapy. This is lovely for Jasmine fans, but not right for me.

I had it but didn't like it because it was hard to breathe wearing this. The fragrance has a touch of vintage style in my opinion - I sometimes like it, but not in this Aqua Allegoria. Simply uncomfortable scent (and I like some other Allegorias).

I adore Guerlain and have fourteen different fragrances in my collection. My three top favorites are L’Heure Bleue, Jicky and 68. I’m also very fond of Cedrat, Insolence and HabitRouge. I was given a gift of this Guerlain today and I cannot stand it. I felt as though I had been punched in the nose with a brass-knuckled fist bearing a large bunch of ripe-to-the-point-of-turning lillies. Half an hour later, I still found it offensive ly cloying; thick. I don’t expect to fall in love with every Guerlain but this is like a teenager’s idea of what a great scent should be, when they douse themselves head-to-toe.

Guerlain has a terrible habit of discontinuing my favourite fragrances. The Aqua Allegoria line is comprised of limited editions, however, some sell so well that they become part of the regular line-up. Sadly, Aqua Allegoria Flora Nerolia didn't make the cut. I adore anything that smells like oranges; that includes the fruit, the peel, orange blossom, neroli and petitgrain. This fragrance epitomises the scent of an orange orchard with the heavy scent of blossoms in the air. It's sweet, juicy and joyful, the kind of scent you reach for when you need a mood boost. I own several orange blossom and/or neroli fragrances, yet Aqua Allegoria Flora Nerolia is the juiciest and the greenest interpretation I have ever smelt. It smells quite realistic and projects strongly, making it the perfect warm-weather scent. It appears that Guerlain has replaced this fragrance with a newer release, Aqua Allegoria Nerolia Bianca. Some reviewers have mentioned that these two fragrances are similar, and I truly hope that they are right. The Aqua Allegoria range is quite underrated. For the most part, they are inexpensive, have great longevity and smell true to their name. They are often high on my recommendation list for easy to wear Summer scents. Although linear, Aqua Allegoria Flora Nerolia is a beautifully blended fragrance. The liquid is a deep yellow-amber and smells a lot more expensive than it actually is. A quick online search located a few tester bottles that are still being sold, so thankfully this fragrance is not as rare as first thought. I'm tentatively adding Aqua Allegoria Flora Nerolia to my wishlist. Only time will tell if I take the plunge and purchase this underrated gem.

Omg so I am wearing this right now and I swear my reaction went from UGH to the first spray to OMG I LOVE THIS once the dry down phase started. The first spray is like an attack, it is all bitter petit grain mixed with orange flower and a lot of indolic Jasmine. So when I just smelled this I was sooooooooo disappointed because it was too bitter and the Indolic Jasmine was like an attack on my sense. BUT BUT BUT give it like 3-4 minutes and this little beauty turns into the most realistic Jasmine I have ever smelled outside of a garland of Jasmine flowers, ok? I mean I can't stop sniffing my arm! I went from hate to love in a matter of minutes. It's like walking through a garden, it is so realistic! The orange blossom is faint in the dry down and I smell something mildly incense-like alongside the Jasmine but I'm not sure? Either way, if you like Jasmine go for it. It does start out Indolic but it settles down into a most realistic Jasmine. This perfume made me go on a roller coaster ride of emotions lol

Flora Nerolia is the closest to the real orange tree flowers I could find. The opening is just stunningly beautiful. The neroli is fresh and crisp, it even has a tiny tartness to it! Then it calms down and loses some of that sparkling quality, turning most toward jasmine and orange blossom. I can see the similarity between this and Estee Lauder Tuberose Gardenia. They are both white flower perfumes,tropicals, but I prefer the tuberose one. Why? Because after a while, Flora Nerolia get a little soapy note. Not much of it, but enough to give it that aura of a "clean" perfume, which I am not crazy about. But it's a lovely tropical scent, without being cloying or boring. I can tell the flowers here are lush and "fleshy". Silage and longevity are both above average, especially considering this is an "aqua". If you wanted to love Fracas but you couldn't wear it, give this one a try, you might like it. It's still a bit of a powerhouse, but not chocking like Fracas.

I think of The AA line as the "eaux" line for women. Pared down Guerlains when you are looking for something simple with recognizeable notes. Flora Nerolia is IMO the spare female version of Eau de Guerlain it had the petitgrain and citrus blossom and even the bit of jasmine, but it strips out the masculine caraway and basil replacing it with a very feminine orange blossom. I think of Eau de Guerlain as a masculine office scent and Flora Nerolia and a good choice for women searching for something subtle and not quite sexy. This would be a nice non-provocative scent to wear when perfumey choices would be deemed inappropriate. Not sure Guerlain was thinking "professional" when they created this, but it would satisfy.

I do recognize a bright neroli note here, but I am grateful when it fades to a skanky jasmine/orange blossom note, because the neroli is almost too detergent-y to me. When it does fade into jasmine/orange blossom, I get this beautiful frankincense. It becomes both indolic and a bit churchy, a strange balance that in large doses makes my stomach roll. But just dabbed on, it's one of the sultriest white floral scents I've ever worn, gorgeous for the summer.

Oh no! I think this has been D I S C O N T I N U E D ! This and Annick Goutal's Neroli were great "lower level" Neroli frags to top shelf Tom Ford Neroli Portofino and Jo Malone's Orange Blossom. Anyway-this is heavenly and affordable. Longevity is fair--not great. Blind Buy OK like I did. Very happy with this one!

Tried this while wandering through Epcot's French pavilion on a 95 degree day. Beautiful off the nozzle but when on my skin, turned to a public restroom in 5 minutes. My husband was the one to point it out and he couldn't have been more spot on. An artificial, squeaky plastic lemon scent not worth the price.

Strong indolic jasmine and orange blossom... The jasmine seems the stronger of the two. Not a tame scent! Lasts 4 hours. More of a nighttime going out sort of orange blossom.

It is a beautiful perfume, soothening and soft.. subtle and long lasting. Its jasmine notes are too good and they do not change notes over time.

How I wish that this water could tap into a pit, buckets of water this beautiful infinity.
