Aqua Allegoria Nettare di Sole

French Riviera in heels and an oversized floppy sun hat. This beauty opens with a burst of floral, honeyed sweetness from the orange blossom and the calabrian bergamot which accentuates the soft citrus with a green, almost aromatic note. The magnolia is already wanting to make an appearance here and my nose delights in the recognition of an old scent memory; ‘Royal Jelly’. But interestingly wrapped around these tops notes is an aquatic breeze - a mild, fresh spritz of sea salty air. It tempers the magnolia, which is not heavy or loud in the middle. It’s enough to keep the white floral and citrus continuing into the heart, but adds a mild creaminess. Here there is the sensual Arabian Jasmine but it’s brightened with the slightest touch of green rose. To my nose, the honey is more noticeable here in the middle, a floral warm honey, slightly animalic. On paper, this might sounds like a heady mix of warm, sweet, floral, but it’s not cloying or in your face. There’s a very slight clean soapiness. Its delightful! And then as it settles on my skin. Oh my happy heart, these ‘solar notes’. It’s like when you’ve been lying on the beach and caught the sun and your skin is starting to golden, you can smell the sun, traces of the salty sand and the creamy sun screen lotion, is that a hint of peach? It’s warm and comforting yet radiant and exotic. Now *real* royal jelly is a pungent, sour and tangy affair. So what is ‘Royal Jelly’ to me? It’s a scent memory I’ve been chasing for decades. A gift set of my mums, of bubble bath, body lotion and talcum powder that was in a navy box with gilded gold and ‘Royal Jelly’ scribed across it. It is memories of being frozen and soaked coming home from school in the snow, a warm bath run, then wrapped up in a cozy towel warmed up on the radiator, and ‘getting spoilt’ by gaining access to the ‘Royal Jelly’ talcum powder and fluffy powder applicator as a treat. This is the closest I’ve ever gotten to it .. but even better... Nettare di Sole means Nectar of the Sun, but I call it my little bottle of contradictions. It’s clean, fresh and floral yet sensual, creamy and decadent. Its holiday memories of sun-kissed skin and sunnies on, yet its also happy memories of comfort - wrapped up in a warm, cosy towel after a bath in the winter. Yes, I’ve a strong emotional scent memory to ‘Royal Jelly’. And I do think to young noses this might have a vintage feel to it, maybe soapy. It’s floral-honey as apposed to gourmand honey (which to my nose is more cinder-toffee honeycomb). But the really clever, interesting and well blended aquatic and solar notes in it add a modern twist. The dry down is such an happy place, it almost makes you smell like you’ve caught the sun on your skin whilst lying at the pool or on a beach. It’s the French Riviera in heels and an oversized floppy sun hat.

Nettare di Sole is an Aquatic Solar Floral with Honey that is very uplifting and warm. Upon first spritz it has a Musky Honey Bergamot blast. It is not sweet although very botanical. I could see this being off putting for some. However, give it a few minutes to develop and the juice becomes quite interesting. After the initial Bergamot Honey blast fades the Solar note and florals become more noticeable. The Orange Blossom is what is most pronounced. Secondly, I pick out the Magnolia above the Rose and Jasmine but I do detect them both as well. On my skin I also pick out the Aquatic note which is refreshing and it gives this AA a dewy nuance. At this point my mind goes to envisioning the Honeybees going about their busy work collecting the pollen from the beautiful flowers early in the morning. The dew drops sitting on, while some drip off, the petals. The calming humming noise of their wings fills the air ensuring me that the little Pollen Bandits will be making their precious Royal Jelly and Honey. These great magical Pollinators, no doubt, contribute so much to the World. Although I am allergic, I love the Honeybees. The Symbol of Guerlain. This Nettare di Sole represents them perfectly. On the dry down, I keep getting Musky Honey, the Solar note and Orange Blossom mainly with some Bergamot. Some reviewers said this juice smells synthetic. I do think it is the Solar and Aquatic Notes. But it is not any more synthetic smelling than any other perfumes that also have this notes. I must say I am glad I picked this up. It is a wondrous addition to my Aqua Allegoria Collection. I will be using this more for warm Summer mornings and nights. I think it will be best for then. In the midday heat it may be a bit overwhelming. The sillage for this is moderate. And the longevity is about eight hours on me. Give it a try.

So so let down by this fragrance. Such a big name but no performance at all. Weak, weak and weak is all that comes to mind when I think of describing it. I jumped the blind buy bandwagon on a you tuber's raving review. Quel dommage!!! Have a full bottle to lament. Dunno may be by some happy surprise I may perhaps find its wonders .. fat chance?!! But even after trying hard none of the notes are noteworthy to me. So I agree with Monsieur Persolaise this is nothing to demand such high price forget praise. Edit : I am glad and I am sorry. Glad that I am able to write that the perfume is beautiful. And sorry for my last review. Don't know what was wrong that day with my nose. All in all I am happy to have this in my collection before it is discontinued. The fragrance is a beautiful blend of flowers and honey and really gives the impression of nectar and bloom and the shining warm all enveloping sunrays. Longevity is quite impressive lasting 5-6 hours and sillage is moderate to good. Its v. unique for a floral combined with honey .. its sweet but not in the sugary syrupy way but sweet as in a sweet flower drawing bees to it .. a bouquet .. it feels like you're holding a fresh bouquet to your nose Wearing it for 2 weeks now and I am infatuated .. u wdnt imagine by looking at the notes that it wd b this interesting. There's a plant like bitter quality which makes this all the more appealing.. think of overgrown bushes full of chlorophyll and fields taken over by breeze buzzing with cicadas and therein the sweet perfume of some flowers

Quick first impression from a sample. Opens juicy and fresh, uplifting and natural. Feels more than just bergamot giving this fresh feel, maybe orange and grapefruit too as there’s a slight hint of bitterness to it. This citrus accord fades pretty quickly. In a short while I feel the florals and they arrive together to the party, their perfumes mingling into one beautiful bouquet. Actually not really a bouquet because the feeling that I get is the flowers are still alive and growing side by side. I don’t get a separate honey note at all, rather the flowers have a honeyed nuance to them, the affect reminds me of some honeyed flowers that are very popular with butterflies, I forget their name, usually pinks and purples sometimes white, but this very specific honeyed floral scent that’s quite intoxicating. The aquatic note is done with such a delicate touch that it merely lightens the feel, I don’t smell the ocean or seaweed or any typical modern aquatic notes thankfully. This feels like a “beachy” fragrance but executed with class and restraint. No coconut 🥳😀. I haven’t made it to the dry down yet but so far I really enjoy this. It’s not too rich or sweet for my tastes. Perhaps it’s not that original but how can anything these days be original and sell well? I’m considering buying this for spring and summer days, perhaps a holiday if I ever manage to get away 🍀🤞🏼

I finally took the plunge and ordered this alongside Marc Jacobs - Daisy Intense and Jimmy Choo - I want choo. All three fragrances are beautiful! I've been having terrible headaches these past weeks, so I wanted to revamp my fragrance collection with a few newbies. All of the fragrances mentioned are very fresh, slightly floral, slightly sweet (daisy intense the sweetest with very prominent honey and strawberry), and absolutely perfect for spring/summer. I was really trying to resist purchasing these for a while, but I sprayed Nettare Di Sole once more at work and all my colleagues commented on how lovely this scent is! I layered this with Daisy intense towards the end of the day and it was amazing. Daisy Intense mixed with Nettare Di Sole gives Nettare Di Sole slightly more depth and effect was amazing. It truly made the fragrance feel illuminated and I think that combo would work really nicely during the summer evenings ❥❥ As I had previously mentioned, Aqua Allegoria's really work nicely the hotter it is. The last week and half it has been super warm in Amsterdam (24+), and this did not disappoint. I highly recommend individuals to try this out and give it a fair chance. Ask for a sample if need be. P.S. I did notice on a paper strip this smells completely different than it does on skin x

[DECEMBER 2021] Not a fan of this line... BUT, perhaps also why I'm surprised Fragranticans were on their noses about Nettare Di Sole's fizzy sparkling aldehydes because this is my personal favourite Guerlain so far ...(!) Great replacement for Amouage Dia (which I have had bout 8mls from Amouage sample boxes by now) -- if you find Dia too low on longetivity, too overall musky but absolutely loved Dia's oakmoss-peach soapy fizzy effervescence then I personally would bring Guerlain's Nettare Di Sole home ; pleasantly light sunny fizzy Sprite-seltzer-soda aldehyde stuff with enough cidery lightly-touch Manuka sugarscrub-styled honey and edible flower petal garnish. This is now my go-to example of a good modern "budget" floral-aldehyde (emphasis on fizzy modern aldehydes ; no skanky musty civet musk, indolic "turning" jasmines or roses or "dark" smells here. Guerlain's Nettare Di Sole is light and pleasantly bright.) Love pairing this with Estee Lauder's Patchouli-jasmine Radiant Mirage, and especially if you can afford: The lindt cherry chocolate white flower edibleness of Lubin's Upper Ten For Her ! I absolutely LOVE this! Guerlain is one of my favourite fragrance houses followed by Dior and Maison Francis Kurdjian. I work in cosmetics and sprayed this today. I sprayed it around 11am and at 4pm this was still going strong. On me this is very prominent honey and a soft rose. Received two compliments after I could no longer smell it on myself (thank you face masks), but I guess others still could. I have been eyeing up Marc Jacobs Daisy intense and I think this two will pair BEAUTIFULLY! I really wanted 'ginger piccante' but now i'm stuck between the two lol. I will eventually end up getting both. For all my honey lovers, as much as reviews are helpful, I highly recommend you try perfumes out yourselves. Notes tend to come out different on everyones skin and you'll never know unless you try. Also, don't despair when you see negative reviews. Perfumes smell different on everyone!! Marc Jacobs 'Honey' was absolutely one of my faves, yet there were so many bad reviews. P.S. The warmer the weather, the nicer Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria's are! ❥

White florals and honey makes a beautiful pollen scent. I dont have any other comment besides it is a very solid white floral scent. My only negative mark is i wish the solar and bergamot note was more present. Definitely a safe blind buy for people who want a good spring fragrance. Edit: Okay so im updating this review because it's growing more and more on me as the each day passes. I'm taking back the part where i said it is just a white floral fragrance, it's much more than that. It makes the opening with a fresh gorgeous orange blossom followed with sweet honey and magnolias. In the dry down it turns to a more powdery honey and jasmine scent, very cozy and uplifting. Also contrary to most of the comments the logetivity is pretty decent on me it makes itself present for about 3 to 4 hours. Definitely gonna stay as one of my favorite scents in the foreseeable future.

Omg yess!!!! Ok I have over 100 perfumes. Some cheapie dupes, some expensive originals. Some classic quality ones but not so expensive. There’s a reason why Guerlain is one of the oldest and most respect French perfume houses in the world! I have not worn it all day yet but i sprayed in on my ant when i got it! Immediately i could smell a sweet citrus and what i can only describe as sunshine!! Like the smell of citrus fruits being warmed by the sun. That sweet zesty citrusy slightly salty but oh so wonderful aroma! And the scent stayed on my arm for longer than most of the middle eastern perfumes I’ve had sitting for weeks they fiddlers within 10 minutes! (Not all of them but a lot of them) This is a refreshing easy summer scent that would also be comforting for after a bath or shower. It’s perfect for any time The only problem is now i need to pay for a back up bottle

A nice fresh slightly powdery bar of soap sweetened with honey but not too sweet (at least on my skin) I’m not sure if it’s the orange blossom or something else but I can swear I feel the same soapy Ceder there is in infusion de cedre by Prada. Not thy same as strength and so on but it has this soapy quality just milder and sweeter. Now imagine you washed your hands with this soap and collected the water but made it fizzy and added citruses and honey in it- that’s the opening of this fragrance. I love it I wish it lasted longer but it’s edt after all. Still a love! Perfect for the summer! Got mine for 45€ for 125ml which is a steal. If I find a good priced refill probably gonna get it since I heard it’s discontinued.. not sure if the 125ml bottles are refillable tho. If anyone knows please let me know :)

I'm in love with this one. It's stunning, and possibly the little child of Jean Charles Brosseau' Fleurs d'Ombre_Ombre Bleu, and Marc Jacobs' Honey, to me. A.A.Nettare di Sole has on my skin a note I adore, like honey diluted in a liquid solution in which sodium bicarbonate is dissolved. Propolis kind of smell it occurs to me, probably as a result of magnolia, bergamot and honey, I don't know.. This fragrance is adorable and gorgeous, and my skin exalts it. An extraordinarily good and longlasting Aqua Allegoria, a lively and effervescent perfume. Sizzling and wet, umid like a watery fluid but not in a typical fresh kind of way. I just finish the travel format and I'm ready for a second capsule. Then the full bottle will come. I have no other words but bewitched by it.

OK- this went from a strong like to an absolute love! It opens with a creamy orange blossom that almost reminds me of classic Nivea lotion in the blue bottle, but an expensive version that evokes a rich woman on a luxurious vacation. I find it elegant but casual and relaxed. I also love wearing it to feel cozy but can see myself wearing it out to a patio dinner with friends. So easy to wear and the honey note brings in that sunny warmth implied by its name. Nectar of the sun indeed! I'm not a gourmand lover but the honey here is neither gourmand, cloying, nor heavy. As with Aqua Allegorias, this doesn't project a lot but it does stay on the skin for about 3 hours. Medium sillage but mostly wears close. Don't be afraid to overspray this one!

Here we have a beautifully constructed fragrance. The honey note is definitely the star of the show and it does represent Guerlain's association with bee protection in both, the bottle and the perfume. Opens aquatic which prevents the honey from being too sticky or heavy and develops into a delicate and warm floral, evoking a bright ray of sunshine on a beautiful Summer day. Wearing Nettari di Sole brings lots of comfort to me. It’s very natural, full of warmth, sun and joy and has become my favourite fragrance from the Aqua Allegoria series. Longevity is decent, around 6 hours but the projection is soft as this fragrance sits close to the skin after the first hour.

This is my favourite fragrance in the Aqua Allegoria series since Lys Soleia. Today I tested it again and I couldn't understand why I smell some cinnamon or something that reminds me a lot of cinnamon. I believe it's the combination of honey with those creamy, white flowers. It stays really warm on my skin with honey being prominent, later turns more fresh with orange blossom. Overall, it's an incredible journey full of warmth, sunshine and joy. If you are into warmer, creamier summer fragrances, you will adore this. I will definitely be getting a few bottles already before it disappears/ is discontinued...

Have been blending this with my natural honey oils I've accumulated off Etsy ranging from beehive beeswax, earthy floral pollen like, to sweeter mmmm oils... Since I haven't been able to find the one and only blending is where I'm at with finding the right "all in one" Honey (obsessed really) elixir perfume. Alone this begins fresh and almost would miss the honey notes until the base presents fully with your body heat... and love how this juice just resonates with my chemistry/aura. Am smitten completely by this newest of the Guerlain Aqua Allegoria offerings.

I had been wanting this for the past 2 summers, but finally got it this year! I am glad I didn't listen to the mixed comments in the end and relied on my memory of this scent. I have tried it several times over the years. I like the honey note and slight soapyness. A clean yet floral fruity fragrance. It is my 3rd bottle from the aqua allegoria line. This is great for lazy days when you are not sure what to choose but want to feel refreshed and comforted. I got it on discount a good offer from allbeauty for a 125ml bottle which will last me ages!

Ahmazzzzing scent but zero longevity. Lasts at best two hours (more like one hour) and you’ll get a nuclear scent bubble if you overspray during the first 30 mins. This is the absolutely most beautiful solar scent with like citrus and aquatic vibes. Absolutely light and airy and great for summer. If only it was more stable and didn’t evaporate almost immediately. I still love my bottle and would repurchase Scent 10/10 Longevity 2/10 Projection 7/10 (during the first hour)

Beautifully done honey fragrance, does justice to Guerlain’s association with the bee and doesn’t disappoint. Aquatic in the opening which keeps it from getting too sticky or heavy, it settles into a very pretty, warm honeyed floral. Like a ray of golden sunshine on a Summer’s day. It feels special and different to other Aqua Allegorias, worth trying even if you own a few from the line already. Decent projection and longevity. Lovely.

I wasn't blown away at first – it took me several hours to fall in love. The honey in this fragrance is delicious. It smells like a warm summer evening in the garden (golden light and long shadows, a garden party, the quiet buzz of the last bees before they head back to the hive), though occasionally I'm also reminded of a sunny day in the snow. Long lasting but intimate. Comforting and addictive.

The start is a bit boring and flat. For first hour it smells with pure orange blossom..BUT..then it opens up beautifully with honey..natural honey and beautiful miz of flowers. Sillage at first is medium, so orange blossom is more powerful. But then the main beauty- honey with flowers unfortunately sits close to the skin.. The phase of fragrance which I like is too silent.
