Jardins de Bagatelle Eau de Parfum

Very heady bouquet of opulent and heavy white florals. You have to really adore pure white flowers to appreciate this, but if that is your penchant then this is among the best options for your distinguished taste. There is an overripe quality to the scent, it isn't fresh, powdery or green.....it literally resembles an array of fully blossomed white florals bathing in sun nectar for hours on a sweltering summer day. The texture is dewy, abundant and opaque. An uplifting and extroverted tuberose is the most prominent and she's paired with a well-behaved earthy gardenia and a soapy jasmine. The latest formulation is powerful and this is coming from someone who rarely calls a fragrance beast mode. Characterisation: Strong, self-assured, obnoxiously confident, but in no way arrogant, the heart of the party, surrounded by company, echoes of laughter, flamboyant opulence, pearls consipicously falling from her neck, red lipstick, a baroque brooch, hair swept into an Audrey Hepburn bun, oversized Chanel sunglasses. Although shes overbearing, you love her company, you can't help but smile and you regret her absence. Edit: gave this to my mum cause of her love of tuberose. The sillage is the most beautiful, soapy, opulent trail, such an enhancement 😍😍😍😍

A breathtakingly beautiful, creamy and soft, moderately sweet white floral with a green, citrusy opening and a smooth, woody base. A very elegant, elevated, classy blend of tuberose, jasmine and neroli that rounds up so nicely after a more sharp opening. If I wouldn’t have Van Cleef&Arpels’s Gardenia Petale, I would probably pull the trigger and purchase on the spot a bottle of Jaedins de Bagatelle EDP. But because the dry down of Jardins de Bagatelle is almost identical to Gardenia Petale, I will hold off. Nonetheless, this scent DNA is unbelievably good for white florals lovers.

What can I say, I love vintage-smelling stuff, and Bagatelle fits the bill. It's one of those perfumes where I find it hard to discern any notes, because I wouldn't say that the flowers in it are at all realistic. But it is a thick, juicy, sunny scent that I haven't stopped adoring ever since getting a bottle back in December. It is uplifting and summery while at the same time having a richness and nobility that make it a good evening scent as well.

Jasmine, Lily of the valley, tuberose, ylang ylang, gardenia, with a green garden accord that I really like. It attracts mixed reviews but I find this easy to wear, really joyful, with an impressive sillage. Florals can sometimes be suffocating and heavy; but this is light, yet tenacious due to the superb Guerlain blending.

Very feminine. Very Old School without feeling entirely too dated. Very very Guerlain. It’s floral and musky with a hint of freshness. I get a bit of greenness from it, as well. I wouldn’t say this is a safe blind buy unless you’re a Guerlainaholic like me. If you are, you will probably love it.

My nose detects primarily gardenia, jasmine, and a hint of orange blossom, with green undertones and a slight powdery touch on top (there is something that very vaguely resembles the powdery tones of L'Heure Bleue). Really nice, and very Guerlain-esque.

when the masterpiece becomes a perfume... nothing wrong with this perfume. the notes are all balanced perfectly. for those who want to get closer to tuberose it is a good start. 9 performance. vote 10

FLORAL. Recently got my hands on the EDP and I loved it on the first spray. That being said, this a very strong scent and can be quite cloying to most. Interestingly, I was expecting to get more Tuberose. I’m a Tuberose fan and love scents like Do Son by Diptyque that are very green and photorealistic. In JDB (EDP), however, it seems that the Gardenia takes center stage. There aren’t any yellow florals listed in the notes, but there’s something very yellow floral about this fragrance. My partner noticed a Honeysuckle like scent, and I read that some smelled Aldehydes. What I think is truly happening here is a lot of Gardenia, which adds a sticky, sugary aspect to this fragrance. And the Neroli adds a bit of that sharp sparkle present in a lot of aldehydic perfumes. This is a fragrance that lasts and sticks to your skin, and you do get a mild touch of woodiness in the dry down. It is bold, sensual, and “Woman” with capital W. At the same time, there is a timeless and vintage elegance to this fragrance that keeps it refined and sophisticated. I can see a woman wearing this to a spring or summer evening dinner. It is also green, but floral, first and foremost. I guess the original has an additional Chypre element and earthiness to it that isn’t present here. But I’m curious to try the EDT... If you’re looking for something a bit more toned down, maybe try that.

It’s very pretty and there’s nothing wrong with it but it’s a like. If I hadn’t known about Fracas then I would love the tuberose here but because I do, I have been spoiled about tuberose. Its kind of how I knew LHB before ALO and therefore ALO is a shadow of LHB to me. Thats the same here, pretty and well blended and I would fall in love if i didn't experience and know the queen of all tuberose.

Big Beautiful White Floral. I do not smell tuberose at all. It starts with jasmine, lota and lots of jasmine, classic soapy/aldehydic type, non-indolic. And then my beloved gardenia comes in, and for a while the fragrance reminds me of one of my favorites - Serge Lutens' Une Voix Noire. Overall - classy and dignified, ultra feminine, if not at all unique.

I love this. I love vintage perfumes, usually more chypre leaning like Mitsouko, but this makes me feel like I’m sitting on a rustic bench in a cottage garden surrounded by flowers. It’s a fragrant old lady but so am I.

At the first spray, it's evident that Jardin de Bagatelle is an aldehydic perfume from another era. However, I found the first moments pleasant as the aldehydes are quite gentle and smell neither of urine nor soap, while the white flowers take center stage with their charming presence. As the fragrance evolves, though, the balance shifts. The aldehydes grow stronger, overshadowing the flowers and ultimately dominating the composition. Jardin de Bagatelle then becomes too dated for my personal taste and increasingly less enjoyable. Recommended only for lovers of very vintage and aldehydic perfumes.

I love the floral notes but this ended up being far too soapy for me. They should list aldehydes in the notes here.

A beautiful white floral garden. The heart is the core - an ensemble of four white florals: gardenia, jasmine, neroli, and tuberose. The top and base notes play a supportive role: a touch of citrus above, a bit of woods beneath. The stage belongs entirely to the florals. This is one of the purest and most refined white floral perfumes I have ever tried. I love florals (I’m usually a yellow floral girl), and at times I genuinely thought: maybe I just don’t like white florals. Turns out I do, I simply don’t like the generic atrocities that happen to contain white florals. So many perfumes distort that white floral purity — they become too sweet, overworked, suffocating, or tainted. This does none of that. This is clear, balanced and pure. It feels slightly dated, but in a good way. We do not need current white floral trends here at all. “Dated” becomes a strength because it preserves a style of perfumery that understood restraint and floral structure. Spectacular.

I am testing the newest version of Jardins de Bagatelle in a 'heart' bottle, (re)created by Thierry Wasser. I have never tried the original in the 'bee' bottle, but I have no regrets. This is such an in-your-face super-floral! Impossibly strong, tenacious, impactful, unforgettable. Jasmine is the strongest note, wrapped in aldehydes, and brilliantly combined with a whole bunch of other flowers - I can identify daffodil, tuberose, ylang-ylang, lily-of-the-valley and whatnot. Jardins de Bagatelle has absolutely nothing in common with floral-fruity-gourmandish fragrances that currently dominate the market, and thank god for that! If you are a flower-lover, this is a must-try (and probably a must-buy); however, if you are averse to strong florals, then stay away, because this juice is strong, lasts an eternity and projects like it's nobody's business!

To me it’s like a more refined, greener version of LouLou. Both fragrances are wearing the same big 80’s hair, but this one has a classier fashion sense and is wearing a simple mini white dress with shoulder pads instead of pastel neons. Also both have this Crayola/ slightly plasticky drydown (although here it’s more subtle) that just won’t wash off, which I think is caused by the type of jasmine they use. I love bold florals and old Guerlains and I don’t dislike anything about Jardins de Bagatelle, but also nothing about it peaks my interest either. Reminds me of Insolence, not because they are very similar, but because I find them both to be rather simplistic but powerful florals.

This is gorgeous! Bright and slightly spicy white flowers but with the greeness of a 70s-80s style perfumes. Therefore, it's not mainstream smelling in today's perfume spectrum. It smells a little distant, a little different, confident but not suffocating. Guerlain's blending is always chef's kiss. With the right character/personality, this is signature perfume worthy.
