Jasmin Bonheur

Top: Apricot and Bergamot Middle: Jasmine, Orange Blossom and Rose Base: Iris I just got this perfume few days ago and I can’t stop wearing it and I can’t stop smelling myself. This will be my easygoing everyday scent which I can pair with every outfit. It may sound boring but it’s not. Actually Jasmine Bonheur is delightfully different Jasmine scent. There is something very old fashioned in it but in a very beautiful way. Apricot is very soft and fragile, not juicy. The scent is a little bit dusty yet full of joy. It’s not like dry make up powdery, it’s rather hazy. It’s really difficult to find a Jasmine scent which makes my husband react like “woooow” but this did it. The longevity is at least one day. Btw this is not animalic in any kind of way, neither heady. This is classy and beautiful. Thank you for reading, I hope my review was helpful. My testing experience was a WOW. Sure; there are a lot of jasmine perfumes out there, but this is undeniably great, to my nose. The jasmine seems very pure to me. First, it’s a fresh, night-blooming flower. Then it veers into more indolic territory. Then, it returns to a clean sambac. Nice little storytelling there! I get extremely light apricot and powder in the dry down. It’s really very lovely. I, myself, don’t get anything woody. For me, it comes down to reviewing my collection to see if this would be redundant to any other jasmine I have. J.B. is not all that unique, but it’s damn good for what it offers. It’s simple and performs better than other Guerlains in my opinion. It gets a little overwhelming to me and I get some mild sniffles, unfortunately. But it is a great jasmine. *Edit: I believe the apricot is prominent (for the wearer) and for me, it’s an unexpected and very nice combination. It really does make the fragrance special.

Guerlain are really good at misnaming their perfumes, in my opinion, and this is no exception. It's a sultry, slightly green, brooding iris scent, very complex, and dynamic. It has elements of the stemmy green floral lightness found in Joyeuse Tubereuse, and the dusty iris is immediately evocative of that found in Iris Torréfié. I like this shared DNA, it gives consistency to the line whilst those fragrances are actually pretty different. The jasmine takes a back seat at first, just giving a bit of flesh to the shadowy composition. It's a nighttime scent, a dark, spooky dreamland with twinkling beauty, an English garden bathed in magical twilight. Then after an hour or so the jasmine comes forward and begins honking and throbbing, a bit like a rich tuberose can do, but it's not skanky to my nose. There's some quite prominent aldehydes on top of it all, but nothing too overwhelming.

I started my 2023 fragrance exploration with Jasmine Bonheur. Oh! She is a peculiar and interesting jasmine. I was nearly disappointed when I tried them for the first time. The jasmine here is not soliflore, not always in the limelight. It is somehow transparent yet colorful, many many jasmine flowers, but they are tiny and not alone. The violet is always there accompanying the jasmine, sometime swapping the limelight with Jasmine. Somewhere in the middle of the transformation, juicy apricots joined the show. It is interesting. Easy to like, but easy to dismiss, yet so memorable and unique. Stay with it and try for a full day wear, you’ll hopefully see (sniff) what I mean. This is great for those wanting jasmines without the indolic -ness. Do not come with expectations of super jasmine forward, but do try first on your skin and enjoy the journey as the fragrance evolves.

I loved it from the first sniff and went back to the boutique after I left to spray some more on me. So the SA gave me a sample. Next day I put it on and realised why i was liking it so much, because of the familiarity to Chanel 1932, which I love (which is similar to Chanel Chance Eau Tendre). very good sillage - a group of 3 women approached me to tell me how they could smell the amazing perfume as they walked behind me and how they were just following me to know the name of the fragrance! long lasting, pretty, powdery. not much jasmine as i'd have preferred but still quite good. I will get a bottle of this for sure!

I purchased this in Paris, in the Champs Elysees Boutique. I sampled a few of the collection and while this wasn't my initial choice, I found this one the most tenacious and also the one I found my nose constantly drawn to. The overwhelming aspect of this fragrance is the powdery iris for me. It has some aspects in common with Insolence: prominant iris, the slightly fruity overtones and subtle white flowers, although minus the parma violets of Insolence. I don't really think that jasmine is the main player in this fragrance, it's a powdery floral with iris as the main performer for me. I think it's lovely.

Considering the hefty price, I really took my time before getting this, but I cannot stop thinking about this perfume for a year. I have always felt funny wearing lipsticky fragrance but this one blooms just in the most perfect way. It has powdery facet with a hint of freshness and fruity touch. The floral touch is not the most realistic, yet it's so intoxicatingly beautiful once it blends into my skin.

It is contemporary certain unisex perfume unlike other quaint and sophisticated L'Art Et La Matiere ones. It has a bit rough bergamot start then distinct jasmine with a hint of ripe rosy apricot. Iris note is prominent here. There's no sweetness at all. It has amazing long fresh bitterish sillage. Definitely worth trying.

This one is not just for female only definitely unisex i completely agree with some comments that you will appreciate more and more after you wear this beauty, another less talk and less hyped hidden gem from the house must have in collection if you like any guerlain

musky animalic playful jasmines... This beautiful modern take of a vintage 80s animalic jasmines. it is rich yet musky with iris powder, some orange blossoms, fizzy bergamot, & apricot jasmines. This is beauty in a bottle. Beautiful.

Oh this is pretty, I don't understand the low reviews! Reminds me of Joy by Jean Patou but with candied violet and powdery iris. If you love "lipstick" fragrances and you love jasmine, this one is worth trying!

It's not often that I read a company's press copy on a perfume and think, yeah that's it. But with this scent - on my skin, on warm spring day - they pretty much nailed it: "joyful composition of notes, including bright orange, symbolized by apricot, and lively violet, represented by pink iris. Color, as well as soft pink roses, set off the colorful fragrance of jasmine, intertwined with the fragrance of Guerlain to create a happy atmosphere". Check! The only thing I'd add is that it's a bit more abstract-impressionism on my skin and not so much overt jasmine or rose, although my nose might just be interpreting it that way because I've been wearing more figurative, hyperrealistic scents lately. Overall, this is an uplifting, pretty, colorful - but certainly not silly or mindless! - perfume that more or less does what it says on the tin. It might even be a safe blind buy. It's a strong like rather than a love for me only because I find myself appreciating it more from an intellectual standpoint than an emotional one.

Bought a Guerlain lipstick last week and got a 2 ml sample of Jasmin Bonheur. I sprayed it, and a wave of nostalgia hit me. I've smelled it before but I forgot what fragrance. I've been wearing it everyday for almost a week, and suddenly I remembered! Jasmin Bonheur smells almost identical to my Shower to Shower cologne, the orange/peach one, called Flower Fresh, that I wore everyday when I was in highschool in Indonesia in 1994. It made me laugh, since this expensive fragrance ($470 in Canada for a 100 ml bottle) smells like a less than $1 cologne. Having said that, no, it doesn't smell cheap. Jasmin Bonheur actually smells very beautiful (and so did the long discontinued Shower to Shower Flower Fresh). It's smooth, clean floral, a bit sweet, a bit powdery, very safe and easy to wear. No, I'm not going to pay $470 for a full bottle.

Recently, I've been sampling Guerlain's Aqua Allegorias and the L'Art & L'Matiere collection, and as a long time collector of vintage Guerlain, their newer scents have strayed far from what I know and love about what was Guerlain. Maybe we can blame it on generational changes on what users want, the LVMH acquisition, or the IFRA standards and restrictions which are forcing reformulations of many iconic fragrances and limiting new fragrances, but these newer collections, including the Jasmine Bonheur, aren't what I expect from Guerlain. While I like this, it's "pretty", it's safe and simple, it doesn't stand out with the usual wow factor I would expect from pricier frags from classic perfume houses. But perhaps your nose will find it worthy of a FB at this price point; mine does not.

The description of this perfume is accurate, it's a very pretty fruity jasmine. I got a sample of this when I ordered my Shalimar Millisime Jasmin, and was expecting the jasmine in both to be similar, but they are quite different perfumes. I prefer the Shalimar Jasmin over this one, as it has more of the "Guerlain" feel. But Jasmin Bonheur is beautiful, too. I really get that sweet and tart, juicy, apricot note. Jasmine and iris are playing beautifully with it. It's a spring jasmine, I don't find it too indolic, and the tart fruit gives it a nice vintage touch, the way some full-bodied vintage white florals are so potent they are a little sour. I wouldn't necessarily buy this one, but I do like it.

I tested it yesterday. At first I didn't understand what was so unique, as the opening is a very common "jasmin tea", the same that you will find in DS Durga Jasmin Yucatan or Kilian Imperial Tea to name a few, but after 10-15 minutes, the iris starts to pop up to really bring the Guerlain iris DNA, which to my nose is quite close to the beauty of Cruel Gardenia. That being said, I find that it is well-crafted and a generally beautiful scents. I'm hesitant for the price range of 310€ for quite a soft floral scent. You can get Roja for the same price with much better longevity. Only you and your nose can decide if it's worth it for you.

Sparkly, effervescent apricot jasmine with a touch of rose. Super clean smelling and fresh with a bit of fruit. I don’t really detect the iris much here, although the dry down of this is VERY musky. Longevity is a banger, about 8-12 hours. This is very pretty, pleasing, and perfume-y. Not really understanding the negative reviews, I don’t find it indolic or offensive. I don’t find it dated either. Oh well, you can’t make everyone happy! I will use up my sample, but likely not full bottle worthy just off my personal tastes. I can still appreciate it for what it is though. If you love jasmine or white florals, you’ll love this.

I am so surprised to see that I’m the first to say this is similar to Ex Nihilo Fleur Narcotique. They both present as a fresh and fruity white floral with a little bit of tangy edge. Jasmin Bonheur seems to be a little bit more reserved and a tad less sweet, but having both would definitely be redundant. If you don’t have that and aren’t worried about similarity, this is beautiful. Very spring and summer appropriate. Modern, and chic. Makes me think of a picnic in Central Park wearing a white sundress.

I really don't know whether or not I like or dislike this. At points, it's nice enough but then at other times it's way too much and almost sickening. Quite Guerlain, and as mentioned below... not overly modern.

Jasmin Bonheur is a very modern, attractive spring scent- vibrant, intriguing, refreshing, uplifting, definitely floral, with a hint of bergamot and the smell of the peel of apricot. Interesting, unique.

I wouldn't categorize this as a jasmine perfume but rather apricot one. Nothing too groundbreaking though having the note of apricot carves a specific niche in the perfume world.

A beautiful Jasmin fragrance with violet in the vase. If you lay Fleur Diamantine on Rose SaltifOlia by Maison Crivelli - you will have the same effect.

I find this a pretty linear jasmine, nothing special, a bit powdery.

I'm not really loving this... it's not the worst thing I've ever smelt, but it just feels so basic and uninspired. Plus I feel like the jasmine in this perfume gets drowned out by all of the other notes in this perfume. I can smell the jasmine in this, but it's not the star of the show and it never gets to shine. I can smell a lot more of the iris, followed by the apricot and a lot of wood in the base. This is a very woody perfume that smells a lot like alcohol in parts of it, which I'm not a fan of. I also feel that the other notes in this perfume don't really go with jasmine all that well or really mesh, either. Apricot, iris and wood all seem like they belong to different perfumes and like they all dominate in whatever perfume they are put in. I hate it when perfume houses put in flowers that come from very different floral profiles, too. Please make up your mind in what direction you're wanting to go, for crying out loud! On the plus side, the bottle is super pretty and it lasts and projects moderately. It's a feminine fragrance also. But I feel this perfume is so overpriced and not up to what Guerlain is capable of. The only perfume I like from the L'art et la Matiére line is Joyeuse Tubéreuse.

This has a nondescript fruit-ish top, non indolic greenish jasmine and something woody (not woody as in wood, but kind of soft driftwood? maybe from the iris?). It fades into a violet tinged powdery musc, not the nuclear candy violet, but more the greeny violet leaf. I've been wearing the samples I received with a recent order and I can say I like. But it's not a fragrance that I'd peg as one of Guerlains L'ART & LA MATIÈRE collection. But, I've not really cared for any of the releases from the last two years either. The cost on this one is not something I'm willing to pay. It's pretty, don't get me wrong, but it's not something I'd wear a lot. I honestly don't get any likeness to the reminds me of section. If I had to sum up this scent with one word it really wouldn't be a word. It would be ish, as in: It's a fruity-ish, green-ish, floral-ish, powdery musc-ish perfume. Best I can do. The reviews on this are all over the place, probably need to sample for yourself before writing it off, though.

My SA made me a decant so that I could test it before buying. I'm so glad she did because on my skin, the Jasmine is an ANIMALIC bomb!!! I was so disappointed for about 45 minutes, but after that JB bloomed into a beautiful, soft floral completely void of the traumatic opening. If the opening was as lovely as dry down, I would have purchased it right there on the spot! This is not a safe blind-buy by any means.

I wish Jasmin Bonheur had more jasmine and a less exuberant musk. The apricot is subtle. Not nearly as fruity as Dior Jasmin des Anges. Jasmin Bonheur has its charms but not a fragrance that I would wear. Sampled from a 2 ml bottle.

very mature. something you’d smell on an old woman in an old church. it could almost be like passing a flower bush but it’s too heavy to smell natural

A bit old fashioned, traditional jasmine/iris scent. It’s nice but there are much better florals from Guerlain.

I've got a bottle because it's Guerlain's one. That's all. LVMH has spoiled the brand.

I normally try not to be too negative. After all, each experience is personal and certainly subjective. With this, I just cannot. Received it as a sample with a purchase for my wife. I politely asked her never to use it again. Certainly strong floral. I am a huge fan or iris. For this, I couldn't take it any longer in my attempts at waiting for it. When I say "grandmotherly", I mean when you still find those stuck together butterscotch and red cinnamon disks. Please no. If you enjoy it, great. Just not for me. I do enjoy Shalimar and Insolence but this...it is a big no.

Powdery violet/iris, seriously?! Whoever came up with that needs to have their nose examined. So do those who think this is anything like Insolence. This is white florals (mainly jasmine) with a soapy musk drydown. The opening reminds me of Dyptique Olene (but not as nice), but then it goes downhill. I find it really nauseating after about an hour.

Holy plastic, synthetic sweetness. Reminds me of the inside of TJ Max; you know it’s time to leave when the scent becomes overbearing. The listed notes are here, but they are from a lab and not a garden. I’m surprised this is from Guerlain.

Extremely animalic and heavy 🤢 And that's coming from a jasmine lover. There's something about this that makes me nauseas. Don't let the notes fool you, it's not fresh in the least. I have no idea who the target market is for this scent.

I cannot recognize the Jasmin immediately. But what came to my mind first is the Secretions Magnifiques vibe. Not in a disgusting way. But still it’s not a pleasant scent for me.

Sweet ripe apricot + jasmine, followed with a blast of lipsticky, slightly waxy iris on the background. Way too feminine & cheerful for me

This scent reminds me of things that are not Guerlain. I love Guerlain because it usually smells refined and elegant. Usually there is a bit of the beautiful, soft and confident "Guerlinade". This scent, has a very aggressive arrangement of notes. Like and elephant running into a crystal store. Rude and thick bergamote and a very high pitched jasmin. There are some green notes that are completely screechy. What is that? some bitter galbanum maybe? styrax and patchouli? a masculine vetiver root? I have no clue. I can only say, I am disappointed, this Guerlain is not a true Guerlain. I don't know. I would never imagine this is a Guerlain. It is really screechy, loud, bitter. Sorry Ms.Jelk but you can do better. Maybe you need to take a vacation? Now I need to wash my arm. Please, I beg you, sample first. I have read some colorful comments praising this scent as a modern and attractive fragrance...really I have doubts regarding the veracity of these statements. It sounds more like some people love this brand so much that they are willing to come and write praise for a scent they have not actually sampled yet.... I love most things Guerlain, but, for real this scent is too bizarre and Pinesol like. I am still trying to understand this fragrance and the inspiration behind it... I don't see any Matisse, nor Monet's inspiration here...if you wanted to make me think of art... yeah this scent has strong colors and strokes...it reminds me of Picasso's Weeping Woman...

The accords are accurate, you get white florals orange blossom/jasmine on Iris. Reminds me of lipstick and jasmine. The bergamot enhances the white flowers/tartness. And soft dried apricot, rose makes the fragrance sing. it evolves and turns softer. It reminds me of lipstick and the rest of the notes (floral) take turns. The jasmine is a melody but not the top note, it dances with the iris. The IRIS takes the base show and the rest is dance/art. It's not a simple fragrance or linear. i like it, I will continue to use it in different times/weather. this probably changes from day to night/weather.

Jasmin Bonheur Guerlain (Skin test) Jasmine for grown up, powdery blanket yet carried over guerlainade effect with realistic Jasmine support. I really do like it. There is a sheer line distinguish between kinda of sweet vanilla gourmand Powdery and Realistic Jasmine but cohesively co-existing. There was also another creation from Dior, I think it calls Dioramor from La Collection Privée but it heads to realistic Iris Root with realistic Jasmine support. This should be so lovely who loves Jasmine for the main Olfactive. But it is not for me like now, I personally like Jasmine Marzipan from Maison Lancôme a bit more as it is a bit more Gourmandy with almond wood. However, the Jasmine is not realistic as this. I really enjoy, maybe will be if it comes in good price. But I have personal way of Jasmine that I like it more. Just not be "Mon Guerlain" as of now... ===== Reassert on May 17, 2024 I sniff Jasmine Bonheur one more before buying Curel Gardenia, and yeah my thought still the same. Powdery Classic Guerlainade with Beautiful Jasmine, softly dew. It is definitely Solid offering if you love Jasmine & Guerlain... you can’t go wrong and it quite modern. But I don’t think I should buy this just to be outshined from my other selection.. Curel Gardenia. I think, if Jasmine is your main olfactive. Please give him a try. ...

The longer I let this perfume linger on skin, the more I fall in love! Okay so this is my first time trying LALM Collection from Guerlain and I have HIGH expectation. Wearing this for the first time did feel like emotional roller coaster. I sprayed on both skin & clothes after my nightly shower. At the first few hours, all I got was cold, clean iris with no trace of fruitiness. To my personal imagination, it depicted the smell of my regular hospital's lobby. I don't think this is the right word but it felt like.. "hygienic" powdery bomb. Not a big fan when I sniffed up close but BOY OH BOY the whiff!!! It was an entirely another story because I found myself addicted to smell the whiff from an arm length distance. Then, I went to bed, not knowing that a pleasant surprise was waiting 7 hrs ahead. The morning came, I opened my eyes and my nose instantly caught a whiff of SENSATIONAL scent. Turns out Jasmin Bonheur bloomed overnight, and when the morning light came, it turned from that cold powdery iris scent into... a grandeur mix of iris, rose, and just a shy shadow of sweet nectar-ish facet dancing together. I kept sniffing myself all morning and yes, true to it's name, it did make me feel like I found a bonheur worth every penny.

I like this one, it seems classy and realistic, pure white floral to me, with thankfully no added sugar, and is on the clean side. I sprayed six sprays as it is lower sillage and does not leave a long, lingering trail, which I am also happy for. And as it’s Jasmine has a slightly indolic, fly up your nose high notes that can interpreted as powdery in texture by some but is not as thick and dry and smothering as powder, that’s just how real jasmine smells, it’s not just a flat, sweet, delicate scent but drills up the nose as well. It’s quite simple and linear but refined. I feel happy wearing it but it’s not a safe blind buy as it’s super expensive, low projection, and a true white floral and nothing more. I would love to wear this for purity reasons as I like some scents to be simple so I can appreciate the florals only. If you like indolic,rich, wild night time, jasmine then Sarrasins is ideal but this is more of a sunny, day time French style Spring jasmine. It’s a very good scent but it’s on the simpler side which can be good or bad depending on your needs. On cooler, drier weather it closes up but on warm days it might open up more.

It’s a really good daytime-style jasmine musk, soapy-fresh with enough little contrasts and changes throughout to keep it from being too one-note. I cannot fully commit to “apricot” or “iris” but I absolutely get the influence of rose in the heart. The jasmine is only prominent in the first hour. It’s a thick-petaled, mentholated, “chewy” jasmine. Very clean, dry and vaguely medicinal which is how it distinguishes itself as jasmine as opposed to a generic white floral accord, (since it lacks indoles or any night-blooming sweaty or dark grapey nuances). It’s unisex because it mostly conveys elegant hotel soap fragrance on clean skin, fresh from showering. I think this is the same quality (and price) of those limited release Armani Privé scents (which is what this most reminds me of, although I can’t recall which one). For me, it competes with Musc Outreblanc for which squeaky clean elegant Guerlain musk deserves a full bottle. I like both but there is something unique about Musc Outreblanc on my skin in hot weather that has me leaning toward it over this one. But I count Jasmine Bonheur among the good ones from this line. 3.5 out of 5
