Jicky Limited Edition 2019

Guerlain get a grip !! Concentrate on the quality and composition of new perfumes - dont give us PR and new bottles It is a disgrace to put wonderful old school perfumes in those supposed to be "artbottles".

****Horrified**** As of this moment, this is the most hideous bottle I've ever laid eyes on. It's as far away from love as anything can possibly get for me. The only perfume I know of and dislike as much as this bottle is Bath and Body Works Into the Wild. It smells exactly how this bottle looks to me. There are a few things on the planet that I can not see anything good in....this bottle is one of them. I hope this gets deleted because I'm ashamed to be so blunt and so disgusted by a bottle AND have everyone know how childish and not nice I can be, but it's something I must do....or I'll blow up! Yea...I gotta push the submit button! Forgive me just this once!

I had to echo the reviewers that condemn this bottle as being hideous. It is. This is cosmic evil Kitsch. Very Pennywise-Silent Hill crossover. I also feel it bears little relation to Jicky ‘s soft sun-draped mauves and dusty browns, or maybe my synasthesic receptors are defunct. Guerlain is my favorite house but it makes me cringe seeing them stoop this low into the gimmick game. Between this and Musc Ravageur Sex Pistols edition stickers, LVMH and Lauder please just...stahp.

Going against the grain a bit here. As the first reviewer stated, the design is to commemorate a poet who wore Jicky religiously and has a bottle of the extract placed at their grave every year. That in itself is a beautiful gesture. I also personally do not hate the bottle, I clicked over here because I thought it was cool! Jicky itself is another matter, I cannot love it, though I've tried, I just got rid of my bottle. I probably would've kept it had I had this one though!

This is not a new fragrance. This is a limited edition bottle produced for the 130th anniversary of Jicky in collaboration with the Senegalese artist Baye Gallo. According to the Guerlain website, the choice of artist and design is to pay homage to Cheikh Amadou Bamba, poet, theologian and humanist, who used Jicky and at whose burial place a bottle of Jicky Extract is placed every year since 1927. Each of the sixteen numbered bottles contains one litre of Jicky Extract.
