Muguet 2023

This has hardly been out yet, so I doubt most people have smelt it already... Are people just hating this because it is so expensive and hard to get your hands on? I'll be the first to admit this is slightly too expensive at $1260 AUD and it should probably be more around $800-$900 AUD, but this is no reason to give a terrible review for a perfume. This is MEANT TO BE a luxury item! It's meant to be exclusive too and something that not everyone else will be wearing. Unique and different. It's also re-released every year in a different bottle for those who love collecting the beautiful bottles. You usually get what you pay for in life. I just received it today and it's a beautiful perfume. Nothing was spared when it comes to attention to detail and the bottle is so much more beautiful in person. I mean it does look funny in the picture on here, but in real life the porcelain lily-of-the-valley flower decoration around the stopper is actually lovely to behold. You get an extra travel spray and miniature funnel that goes with it too. And of course the smell is wonderful and one of the most true to life lily-of-the-valley scents I have ever smelt, which is a real feat in perfumery. I'm not sure if you can distill it's smell through steam distillation or not? I think I read somewhere very recently that you can and that this process is super expensive to do. Maybe that's why Guerlain only makes limited batches of it and only uses the best of the crop, hence the French word "millésime." This perfume reminds me of a cross-between Lucky by Dior and Pur Muguet by Cartier, but it's more simular to Lucky by Dior. Lucky is not entirely a dupe for this, but it is much cheaper and would be the closest one can get to Muguet Millésime 2023 by Guerlain probably. Lucky is greener and has slightly more projection and longevity to Guerlain's muguet offering, though. Guerlain's is also sweeter and slightly more feminine, though they are both very feminine perfumes. It doesn't smell at all like Diorissimo though, which I can say is less of a pure soliflore lily-of-the-valley scent and more a sketch of lily-of-the-valley than Guerlain's offering each year. Also doesn't smell like Mughetto by Santa Maria Novella, which is super green and bitter and is probably the worst lily-of-the-valley fragrance I have ever smelt thus far. Creed's lily-of-the-valley scent is pretty bad too... I get moderate projection and longevity too. It lasts about 5 hours on my skin. It's slightly short admittedly, but that's just the nature of something like lily-of-the-valley... it's slightly short lived and glorious, like some of the best things in life. I would not say it has weak projection and weak longevity like these reviews are saying! I highly recommend that everyone smells it first before knocking it down and writing up a terrible review for it. 9/10 for this fragrance in my opinion.

I absolutely adore the natural, true scent of lily-of-the-valley. My neighbourhood has loads of these flowers in their yards in the spring (right now) and there is a patch of them growing wild in the local large park. I absolutely know what these fleeting flowers with an angelic scent are supposed to smell like, and Guerlain has truly done a magnificent job. I literally compared the real flower and a spritz of this perfume side-by-side - which I have wanted to do forever - and this year I was finally in a financial position to obtain my own bottle. Well, it does not disappoint. It truly IS the flower scent, and most impressively, the whole flower scent - flower with a hint of the green stem - just like when I hold one little bell in my hand and take a sniff of the fleeting gloriousness. I am so grateful that Guerlain makes a perfume that is a true to life lily-of-the-valley soliflore. I am so glad this is not some "re-imagined" artistic version of it, given the amount of money spent on this. I wanted it because I cannot have the real flower to enjoy all year long - now I can! The talent required to replicate the aroma of this elusively-scented flower is worthy of the price. Like another reviewer, I do not understand the low grade reviews at all. It is perhaps some odd backlash at the high price, though this is a luxury item made with the highest quality flowers in a limited format, and not a mass-market fragrance one can purchase on discount. Possibly the sheer amount of skill required to produce this scent is just completely so far over some people's heads to grasp. The bottle that houses the scent is beautiful. I treasure this perfume so very very much!

A stunning perfume that I just adore! My husband bought this perfume for me in Selfridges (a department store we have here in the United Kingdom) for our wedding anniversary and I was happy when I opened the box to see what was inside. It reminds me a lot of Diorissimo by Christian Dior (which famous supermodel Naomi Campbell loves like me) and it smells just like lily of the valley flowers in a meadow, with me just laying down in the glen and soaking in some rays while surrounded by both these flowers and the grass around me. Muguet by Guerlain is super feminine and pretty and it makes me think of both spring and the Easter. I couldn't ask for more from a fragrance and so I don't understand why this perfume has such a low rating on this website?! Something to do with the price? Regardless, this frag gets 5 stars from me!

I have tried it today and I am very impressed. This is the most photo realistic of lily of the valley I have ever smelt. However, at this price, I am hestitated. The rating given here does not do justice to this masterpiece. I may come back and write more review, if I decide to get it. 05/14/2023 I decide to buy it. After three day use, I appreciate the details of work that Thierry Wasser put in this one. A photo realistic scent focuses on lily of the valley. I understand that the price upset quite a few people. Try it and decide by yourself. 10/01/2023 I had a chance to have a brief conversation with Thierry Wasser, this one was sold out quickly. At this time, we have to wait for next year release.

Muget by Guerlain, which is an annual tradition, is hands down the best Lily of The Valley on the planet. It’s so realistic that it passes the living flower test - when you compare it with freshly picked Lily of The Valley flowers side by side (which I did), this fragrance is identical, the illusion is perfect. True work of a genius! Thierry Wasser, who created this formula in 2016, has done a marvelous job here. In comparison, Diorissimo is just a pale reflection of the flower lacking its crispness, floralcy and countless facets. No other LOTV out there comes anywhere close to Guerlain’s rendition. The price is obscene, but if you are a fan of LOTV flower, this is your only satisfactory fix.

If you collect perfumes, then this is a must for the collection. It is a very photorealistic scent. Heady but light in composition. It is not as creamy as Voulez-Vous Coucher Avec Moi By Kilian. They are both worthy of having a full bottle in your collection.

Don't care much for the bow but the ceramic is very demure & cutesy 💁🏻

The biggest issue? Performance. It’s super soft, almost disappears quickly, with weak projection and short longevity

My Mother was one of the best florists in the country. I grew up helping her with her business, one of which was picking lilly of the valleys for her bridal bouquets. I think it's fitting I received my 30 ml of Guerlain Muget, a day after Mother's day. I will think of her when I wear it. She went to be with the Lord in 2016. This is the best muget soliflore out there. You can't distill Muget because there is not enough oil in the flowers. But this is a great interpretation. My favorite Muget is a complex one. It has more going on, some galbanum etc. It's discontinued Kilian "Love and Tears". Rating: 9/10 God bless. John 3:16

Muguet 2023 IS nice, especially in the first moments you feel that you are burying your nose in a bouquet of freshly picked lily of the valley. Over time, however, it becomes a smooth white floral perfume complemented by additional notes, and the lily of the valley begins to play hide and seek with you until it blends in so well that you can no longer find it. Therefore, it is NOT a soliflore. Diorissimo on the other hand keeps the illusion of lily of the valley much more intact. Otherwise, Muguet as a perfum per se is good. You smell the quality and the bottle is an aesthetic pleasure.

It looks like an angel :) I would buy it if I had that kind of money to spend.
