Tonka Sarrapia Extrait 75

Approximately one week ago, I visited a store to purchase a few colognes. While browsing, I noticed Tonkan Guizan from Rayhaan. I inquired with the salesperson about testing it, and I was immediately captivated by its fragrance. It is truly exceptional. In my mind, my only thought was I must acquire the original from Gurlain. The clone from Rayhaan was so remarkable that it prompted me to spend over $600 for a full bottle of the original. This scent is truly extraordinary and possesses an exceptionally pleasant aroma. It is the most exquisite fragrance I have ever smelled before. I hold this fragrance in high regard, as it is my personal favorite. Despite its status as my favorite fragrance, it is quite expensive. In my opinion, the price may not be justifiable for most individuals. Additionally, the opening of the fragrance is quite harsh. It is predominantly unisex and more suitable for winter. It is not appropriate for summer use. Nevertheless, I do not regret my purchase at all.. Do I like it? Yes Would I wear it? Absolutely Does it last? 7 hours Did it blow me away? Yes Safe blind? Yes Worth the price? No Is it unique? Yes Overall rating: 9.8/10

I’m just getting to know Tonka Sarrapia so this is a first impression. While it is a richer, denser more potent than Tonka Imperiale, this isn’t just Tonka Imperiale as an Extrait- this is a whole different creation. I’ve only sprayed a 1/2 spray on each wrist (I purchased a 45/50ml from another Guerlain collector part payment, part trade) I’m always so afraid to use up the ones I love. Anyway, those 1/2 sprays are beastly!!! like the color of the liquid, dark amber- the fragrance is potent and rich. So much depth, on my skin for the first hour there is an almost metallic hue to the coumarin. I don’t get the herbal facets like Tonka Imperiale and this is nothing like Shalimar Millesime Tonka which when smelling along side Sarrapia is a bergamot overload! I do pick up some dry tobacco and hay, the spices in the opening are a bit smoky. As Sarrapia warms on my skin, it’s becoming more creamy, more vanillic and more nutty. The spices are starting to warm and I’m getting a custard or pudding vibe. I definitely need to give this a full wear test but my goodness, this is magnificent. Will compare with other Tonkas after a full days wear

My first impressions: love! On my skin it’s more vanilla and cocoa forward than tonka and almond. It’s so incredibly well blended: warm, spicy, sweet, creamy. The words smooth, dense and silky immediately come to mind. I think this sits closer to the skin, maybe arms length projection. But the longevity is definitely there. This is probably one of the most chic and sophisticated warm gourmands I’ve ever smelled. I think Tonka can be polarizing, it can lean vintage or gourmand. For example, BDK Velvet Tonka feels very vintage to me, while Tonka Sarrapia is more gourmand. I don’t enjoy Tonka Imperiale. TS75 is very special and the epitome of a Tonka scent. After multiple wears: I now notice the ‘spicy vintage’ aspects coming through more and more, while the vanilla and cacao have receded into the background. That was what I loved most about this scent, so this has gone from the top of my ‘to buy’ list to completely off the list. It’s still a masterpiece fragrance, just not for me. At first this reminded me of Feve Gourmand, but after wearing them back to back, I don’t see much resemblance.

This is such an incredible, warm and elegant fragrance. My opinion may be biased because I love everything Guerlain, but if I were to rank all my fragrances (and I would say I have a somewhat decent collection), this is one of my top favorites. This is the "if your house was on fire, which one would you save" fragrance, and I'm not saying that because of the price--this isn't the most expensive in my collection. I just don't get tired of it. Here's why I adore it: Scent: Soft, inviting, sweet but not in an overly gourmand way. It's not a club scent, not for the 20 something year old. It's refined, elegant, creamy, round, smooth, velvet in pale autumn colors. It goes a bit into the almond lotion (think L'Occitane) territory with a light dusting of powdered cocoa, but not all the way. Longevity: ...forever. It's 8:04PM and I sprayed it at 6:30AM before I went to work. I still smell it. Granted it turned into a skin scent around 3-4PM, but It's still going. Projection: Definitely not a beast mode; it will stay in your bubble. Intoxicating!

This is like Roja Diaghilev and Guerlain Feve Gourmande had a child. The most handsome man and sweetest and most comforting woman had a baby and the baby is a messiah 😂 10/10 Update: unfortunately I have to share some bad news after a full wearing of this. It is completely medicinal on me, and not in a good way. It is so familiar, I just can’t put my finger on it. It’s almost like the smell you get when you just had the carpets of your house steam cleaned. Or, the smell of a car wash waiting room. There’s something chemical and industrial about it, in a sweet and syrupy way. It smells good if I burry my nose into my wrist, but the cloud around me is unpleasant. Something else I will note: it reminds me of a cheap, vanilla-scented shampoo my mom always used to use - the kind where even after washing your hair, it will not squeak. It’s not a spiced bourbon vanilla, it’s like a vanilla Yoplait yogurt that almost has a soapy floral thing going on with the dairy taste. Anyways..... to me, it smells awkward on my skin, almost like a soap

Tonka Sarrapia is huge, an unforgiving beast penetrating with overpowering sweetness the nostrils of anybody nearby. Sarrapia is a tree which produces tonka beans, and unlike Vanille Planifolia, this Extrait 75 really celebrates the beauty of its star note in all it wonderful facets. As for the scent, imagine Feve Delicieuse minus the cherry, chocolate and caramel - the tonka used here is virtually identical to my nose. It’s obviously outrageously sweet, enough to almost give you toothache, but has this gorgeously dry and nutty bitter almond note which pairs beautifully with the tonka. I must admit I love this. Not enough to justify the absurd price tag but if I managed to find it for half the RRP I would definitely pick it up. Tonka is a magical note and it is done to perfection here, the projection is enormous too!

Stunningly breathtaking. A vibrant, most LIVELY, warm-sweet powdery composition in the world of perfumery. There are bitterness, sweetness, powdery and soft florals in it, that intertwine the warm tonka. It actually smell kinda like the base of Shalimar, but so extremely richer, and features a prominent Guerlinade DNA as well despite not listing the 6 notes that are supposed to form it. It is literally living and singing like an aroma of raw materials that is constantly dispersing its faucets through its natural design. A true liquid gold. The only underwhelming part is the drydown. After the glorious dances of bergamot, spices, florals and tonka; its drydown is kinda like a dusty soft bitter powder. It’s like all the magnificent things were fading away, but that’s how I want to spray it again and again.

The amount of people that don't like tonka commenting and reviewing a fragrance that is literally just distilled essence of tonka/coumarin reminds me of the George Carlin quote, “Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.” It's pretty simple, if you don't like tonka maybe stay away from the perfume named Tonka Serrapia. It is everything as advertised, if you took tonka bean and concentrated it to a perfume that last all day and projects. Obviously the price is absurd, tonka beans are one of the cheapest natural ingredients in perfumery and the simplest to process, it is all marketing and Guerlain tax. That said, is absolutely on my buy list but behind a few others, will pick it up eventually and savor my samples for the time being.

This is a very dense, intoxicating, hypnotic beast of a fragrance. Initial test and thoughts: I didn't understand it all that well and let it just sit on the cloth I was testing it on. I sprayed it again a few days later, I fell completely in love. If you are new to fragrances or is used to basic fragrances, this might be too much for you. Might label this in a limited way stating it's only for this and that and whatever else. For the evolved fraghead. This fragrance is a hypnotic beast. It is syrupy, dense, thick, intoxicating, seductive and delicious. This is confident and unapologetic. All fragrances are unisex, as notes have no gender. This is for someone who is confident and do not care what people think because they're That Girl.

Is this the epitome of Tonka fragrances? I would dare say yes. You get the most well-rounded, delicious, buttery tonka through and through. The tonka is the main star, but it's supported by a cozy almond and cacao in the background. It's a simple and linear scent. Tonka, almond and cacao; in the opening, middle and drydown. This is the older sibling of both Tonka Imperiale and Fève Délicieuse. It's Fève Délicieuse without the cherry and caramel note and Tonka Imperiale without the floral tobacco and incense note. Longevity is 8+ hours, better than Tonka Imperiale, same as Féve Délicieuse. Perfectly unisex. Now is it worth €550 for 50ml? Only if you're a tonka freak, otherwise it's "cheaper" siblings are much better deals.

My first encounter with this was a fragrance test strip I got given and promptly forgot about at the bottom of my bag. After a few days, I fished it out; the scent was still there. And what a scent it was. That was two years ago. After, I’d go into every Guerlain store and try and try it again and again, falling in love with it more and more each time, before finally giving in and purchasing it. The scent is like nothing I’d ever known; it’s the tangy sweetness of a bean unshelled and the woody, leathery warmth of skin. It’s sweet but not garish, more like the natural sweetness of buckwheat honey rather than sugar. It’s warm, not necessarily gourmand.

Elevated, rich - smooth tonka scent that somehow feels airy, not heavy. Sweetness, earthiness, woodiness, depth. Nothing feels too much or too heavy here. Almond does give a bit of nuttiness but the tonka is the star Rich yet light. One of the qualities the most luxurious and well blended scents have Its not similar to the others listed or anything else ive tried. Smells unisex but i find it sensual and feminine. Definitely more of a masculine woman though, assertive, sweet but difficult It smells incredibly luxurious, yes the price is also luxurious. I find it more unique than the vanilla of this line

Crumbs this is lovely. I love tonka. I love Guerlain’s offering. Yes it’s expensive. It is a beauty though, special. Not a sling it on every day fodder. The construction of this fragrance is note perfect and so addictive. Yes there are a slew of tonka perfumes out there and, as with all perfumes, not everyone will favour this over other houses. This is an extrait. This is powerful - a little goes a long way. £500 for 50ml is a lot granted but this is for high days and holidays not for oversprays. And yes Guerlain’s mission to bankrupt me is going swimmingly.

The most beautiful in the Les Extraits line up. Tonka Sarrapia feels like you are wearing at least three Guerlain masterpieces at once. I get flashes of Shalimar's sweet DNA, the stunning cocoa note in Feve Gourmande/Gourmand Coquin, and the warm nutty almond from Tonka Imperiale. What is also worth noting is that I get more vanilla in Tonka Sarrapia over Vanilla Planifolia, which turns spiced and smoky on my skin. Also, considering the fate of Tonka Imperiale and Feve Délicieuse, Tonka Sarrapia is worth the spend.

This is a bomb. Sweet, VERY sweet, the sweetest of the extraits in my opinion. Where Vanilla Planifolia is dark sweet and lasts and wraps you in a bubble where people will only notice if they walk behind you or hug you, Tonka Sarrapia is the opposite. The bubble bursted, everyone around you will be enveloped in this sweet, definitely not bitter almondy sweet fragrance. Unisex, 100%, and I am getting honey? Maybe it's the way these notes were mixed, but it's loud and comforting at the same time. Do not over spray!

This is my new favorite fragrance. I love tonka so much and this fragrance highlights tonka in a beautiful, multifaceted way. Delphine Jelk has done an amazing job making the tonka the star of the show as the name suggests. It is quite simplistic while still being rich, smooth, and one thing about Guerlain is that they have mastered in creating the signature almond note that we love. The price is unfortunate but if you have the money and you love tonka, you have to get this.

Tonka Sarrapia is such a beautifully deep, dark and refined scent. The best of the extraits line in my opinion! As a huge vanilla fan I expected to like Vanille Planifolia the most but this one tops it. There is a subtle sweetness throughout with bitter almond, vanilla and cocoa supporting the overall composition, whilst the tonka bean remains the star from start to finish. It’s worth testing multiple times to get a real understanding of this complex scent.

I tried this once and over-sprayed a little, Damn the headache i got was intense. Not to take it negatively the fragrance is absolutely amazing and still bought a full bottle retail but be cautious when spraying because this thing is nuclear. This is such a nice perfume for special occasions. This will make a statement and make you smell edible asf. Such a sweet creamy smelling piece of art this is the type of fragrance that make people turn their heads!

Everyone who thinks that this smells like cola should go buy some Tonka beans, break one in half and have a good sniff. This is a banging fragrance that smells like Tonka and Sugared almonds. It's powdery, projects like a mofo and lasts a good 10 hours on my skin. 6 sprays, one one top and bottom of each arm, and front and back of my neck. I'm happy to wear this in all weathers and seasons and I think it works best as a layering perfume.

Very good, well rounded perfumery. I happen to love this fragranced liquid. I adore tonka and I love a good Play-Doh plasticky effect in fragrances. I will enjoy my official sample to the last drop. 1100 EUR for 100 ML... After 2 + hours it smells like a soft blanche Bete on my skin, it also has that sour aspect like Blanche in the drydown. (Ambroxan?) Own that one so glad to know I have something that gives me similar feels.

Amazing is is the not thing I can say to describe this fragrance. I replicates the smell of a sweet marzipan but in the most mature and richest way. However even though the fragrance is amazing the price of it is insane £500 for 50ml. Overall the only thing I can say is you have to smell it yourself it’s a whole experience on its own I genuinely felt teary smelling it that’s how much I enjoyed the fragrance. 10/10

Just came back to say that it's been two months since I purchased my bottle that it has only gotten BETTER! The vanilla is more upfront and gives off a spicy, resinous vibe. It's very familiar as I can detect it in Vanilla Planifolia and SDV. Two sprays max is all you need and it sticks to skin like gorilla glue. Damn, I love this so much! Yep, Tonka Serrapia is quickly headed towards masterpiece status...Easily!

Guerlain is really something else. I'm in love with this fragrance. The loveliest tonka fragrance I've ever smelled and I'm here for it, I must have it in my collection. It's so elegant, creamy, and the dry down on my skin is full of vanilla. Not a beast of a fragrance, which is perfect. It captivates and envelops the wearer in in a tonka-vanilla hug which you can't escape out of. 100000000000/10. Amazing.

Testing my sample; smells like a vat of melted marzipan, super rich, almost ooey-gooey almond extract infused with cacao powder. Delicious, you want it right under your nose. Projects immensely off my skin, but I think most tonka-forward scents do so with my body chemistry. Perfect for cool/cold weather, so definitely autumn & winter-appropriate, and those cool spring nights. Full-bottle worthy for sure.

DIVINE!!!! Stopped by Guerlain last week to purchase Vanilla Planifolia and walked away with this beauty! 🤎 I'm in my almond era currently and Tonka Serrapia Extrait 75 just checks all the boxes---sweet, vanillic, nutty goodness! As if I couldn't fall more in love with this house, LOL. Is it expensive? Yes, but this bottle should last me a few years as I have a very large collection.

I disagree with comment below says its verry sweet its not ,its the best and smoothest tonka fragrance available in the market it feels sweet because its extrait, you have to use it as extrait not edt ,it's heaven in bottles bit more masculine but female can enjoy it too worth every cent,other extrait are really good i enjoy the whole line-up 💙💙💙

This one dries down to spicy-ish Gourmand Coquin, chocolately tonka with a pinch of sweet cooking spices. It's probably the most gourmand of the five, though. Elegant gourmand, nothing you'd be embarrassed to wear. If you have GC, you might want to test, otherwise it's a love. I've only tested a few times, I don't have a full bottle. Yet.

What can I say? Its a masterpiece! Its been a while where I have genuinely been taken back by a fragrance and this just HITS SO HARD. It was love at first sniff. Do I regret the price? Yes! But do I care? NO! You pay for what you are getting and this is a luxurious, sexy gourmand and very unisex.

I fell in love with this scent the first moment I tested it: creamy, dense, warm, very refined. I am wearing it right now and can't stop smelling my wrists. Too expensive, I definitely agree, but worth the money, better than most of the perfumes I know. Great for autumn.

Never thought I would like a tonka this much. It is much much more than just coumarin like in many other tonka fragrances. It is herbal, spicy, sweet, slightly powdery and nutty. It is all tonka with its every facet. @Ryan1_y, you can totally wear this one on its own.

Yum. Decadent and syrupy- not for the faint of heart. The cacao is very intense to my nose. Delicious. Certainly unisex. It’s a lot. Cold weather only. Monstrous sillage and longevity, but that should be expected for the price. Sexy, but in a dark, decadent way.

I don't get any spices or cocoa apart from a fleeting Coca-Cola accord, it's simply the most pure essence of Guerlain, the base in all their perfumes, in its platonic ideal form. Too sweet for me to consider wearing regularly, but divine all the same.

I Love this one a little bit more than Tonka Imperial. It's more intense. more almondy and have really great buttery vibe. smell very yummy but im not sure this deserve the price. althougth it's a really great smelling. i think it's too expensive.

Best perfume I smelled for a long time. Amazing, actually. But still overpriced. It is great for fall and winter, I have a small decant and I treasure it very much. Definitely recommend it, it you are rich enough. :)

One of the best smelling fragrances on the planet, i was able to spray it and test it fully on my skin and it beams a sweet tonka/almond scent and lasts a very long time. The price however is crazy high.

OBSESSED with the *beginning stages* of this perfume!!! Sadly, I do not enjoy the final dry down :-/ But I still want it just to experience the beginning which would be a ridiculous purchase...but....

It’s a beautiful tonka, almond and vanilla fragrance. Very high quality and excellent performances. It’s a classy gourmand. To me it’s a mixture of fève délicieuse by Dior and velvet Tonka from bdk😍

Phenomenal! Deep rich and intoxicating. ❤️ love. A very similar scent is Feve Tonka by Boucheron La Collection. It doesn’t match the performance but scent is similar for a fraction of the price .

Beautiful, spicy, almondy tonka! If you like Shalimar, or even better Shalimar Millesime Tonka, and you want more tonka from it, this is your perfect fragrance. Super beautiful.

To me this is Velvet Tonka by BDK on steroids. VERY strong. But that’s about it. It’s pretty linear. I love it but can’t justify the price tag for the format + notes.

The only outcome of trying this is Girl dont do it its not worth it - im not gon do it girl just thinkin about it im not gon do it - i did it. Please dont try it.

i havent really tried this properly i have sniffed it once.. and it was incredibly sweet,i hhave never smelled anything as sweet and sugary as this fragrance.

The sillage of this is stunning, I slightly prefer this over Tonka Imperiale but the price is insane for only 50mls. Need to test more before splurging. 9/10

this stuff goes crazy. slightly mature, yet slightly youthful. close up not crazy, when this radiates in the air, amazing. if you have the money, yeah.

In terms of Tonka, it just can’t get any better than this. Absolutely gorgeous, rich and potent (really potent) one. Love it!

Is is better than Diors Feve Delicious? Or tonka imperial? Because they are really hard to find!

A warm and dry tonka with a tad of almond, not too sweet, but rich and deep.

One word a true masterpiece 100/10

DUA has a dupe, Tonka Bean Addiction for $65. I have the 10ml solo and it is a unique, deep woody tonka with a hint of cold almond making it youthful, moderate vanilla sweetness and some balsamic powdery and amber-y drydown that is slightly mature reminiscent of Demeter's Frankincense for a second, but the latter has a rosey overtone making it too heavy and balsamic like Indian incense sticks. Its unique feature is the powdery effect from the cacao that's slightly cold on my skin paired with the almond, almost soapy on my skin progressively. The deep scent of the tonka coumarin blend is also mature imo as in sophisticated, but the almond and cacao make it modern and youthful, so it has become a favorite. I'll try DUA's Tonkalicious for Tonka Imperiale which has vanilla added by DUA. Also Velvet Tonka BDK is prolly the heaviest due to the rose oil. Winter and fall scents for sure. Pairs well with DUA Flower Fruit Compassion/ Manakara Indult. I like it more than DUA Royal Tonka for Shalimar Millésime Tonka by Guerlain being very mature and powdery with the rose/iris like balsamic rose baby wipes. I am just notifying those who don't have the money for Guerlain or can't find these scents.
