Everything about the 2019 Guess release, 1981 Los Angeles, nails the vibe. From the dark wood cap that echoes the faux‐wood paneling dad slapped up behind the mini‐bar with an Easy Riders calendar and a taxidermied bass, to that amber‐gold elixir that wades ankle deep like shag carpet that’s seen its best decade come and go under the feet of patent‐leather Italian loafers worn with carefree abandon. No socks, of course. Socks were for quitters. The kind of carpet that has marinated in Marlboro smoke and Rabanne Pour Homme for the better part of two decades and hasn't been vacuumed since the Carter administration. And the juice. Oh, the juice. Sweet, resinous honey that fills the room like it’s thicker than an episode of Dynasty. Syrupy on top, then diving deep into warm amber, vetiver, and leather that swirl together into a cloudy, vanillic bubble of pure delight. The kind of bubble that would absolutely float across a smoky roller rink while “Bette Davis Eyes” plays for the third time that night. This is a scent hinting at a time when smoking on planes wasn’t just allowed, it was practically encouraged. When seatbelts were merely a suggestion, not a law. Just dangling there uselessly at your side saying "good luck out there, champ!" It's from a time when detergent didn’t need warning labels because everyone assumed you had common sense or at least one functioning adult nearby who could drive you to the emergency room. It smells like waiting for your favorite artist’s music video to premiere on MTV, you know, back when music videos were glossy, sexy movies and only interrupted by commercials that you can still remember and sing the jingle today like the ghost of Juicy Fruit past. Back when you only needed a quick news break from the great Kurt Loder who was practically music royalty. It gives torn‐out Hit Parader posters covering the walls and a significant part of the ceiling; held up with scotch tape, hope, and more than a little teenage hormones and delusion. It's the forbidden pin‐ups tucked under the mattress, hidden from everyone except your most trusted ride‐or‐die. But mostly from mom. Is 1981 Los Angeles from the 80s? Of course not. Is 1981 Los Angeles of the 80s? You bet your velcro wallet it is! So grab your Trapper-Keeper and Garbage Pail kids, give yourself a couple spritzes and hop in the station wagon, loser, cause we're headed to the mall, baby! I can hear Orange Julius calling my name and you know I'm about to answer!

This a rare love at first sniff and after writing this off I’m now disappointed in myself for not getting this sooner ! To get this out of the way it is a familiar smell that does smell similar to Versace Eros and other scents that it’s similar to are (John Varvatos OG, Armani code profumo, Joop home wild ,and even Pure Hanane slightly with the tobacco note) However, despite smelling similar to those scents mentioned it also has a unique character all on its own ! This opens up very fresh, semi-sweet and a little minty (which in the opening is where this will smell the most like Eros) but when this dries down in the mid and deep dry down is where the magic lies as it goes in a more classy,fresh spicy,rich and elegant direction with the plum giving it the fresh and sweet appeal and the amber and tobacco giving it warmth and a bit of a mysterious and edgy vibe !! The mid and drydown are quite similar but in the dry down the plum note becomes more faint and the tobacco and amber take control!! I love tobacco notes when they’re done right and this tobacco note is synthetic but sooo nice and appealing !! Also worth noting is this smells cozy,rich and warm on the skin but in the air this smells DIVINE!! In the air I get a better balanced smell and the notes harmonize better making this both rich and super fresh !!! I got a compliment on the first day wearing this on an elevator. The lady said she loved the smell and it reminded her of a fancy hotel she stayed at (which I totally get) Performance on this is above average ! It lasted me 8 hours but had only mediocre projection which judging by the smell I thought it was going to be a loud projector. I also like this better than EROS as it’s more grown up,less juvenile, has more going on and is not sickly sweet like Eros was on my skin. However,EROS projected like a beast with only 1-3 sprays where I have to spray 4-6 sprays to get above average performance with Guess. But for the price I’m not complaining at all !! Overall rating- 8.5 out of 10 !! A beautiful smell for a price you can’t beat ! I think right now my best cheapies for fall/winter are Every Man Jack/Sandalwood and Los Angeles !! Will be wearing a lot of this in the upcoming colder months

*Disclaimer: I haven’t had my nose on Versace Eros yet (at least knowingly). Just a thought: I’ve never smelled any of these, but the note break down made wonder if this was the baby boy of The One EDP and Eros who happened to have large plum nuts. Surprised me. I thought the plum was only a supporting note, but on my skin it’s quite heavy in the top and mid of this fragrance. Mint is in the background adding some freshness initially, then quickly turns a bit spicy. Bergamot adds some zing to the tart and sweet plum. Ginger and black pepper creep up in the mid, making it a bit fresher and a lot spicier; the plum starts to mellow out some. The base is dry yet warm with the amber and tobacco. Vetiver helps add some slight vegetal dryness in the base, and sandalwood adds a creamy quality. For being a $20 fragrance at rack stores, this is a no brainer. An absolute steal. I was about to grab Paris Hilton for Men over this, but my friend said he’d get this one; I’m glad I grabbed it. Props to my og. Doesn’t project too loud (no more than arms length), good 2-2 1/2 hours of projection, and lasts about 7-8 hours. More of a night scent. Perfect for nights out with friends, date nights, cuddling with your significant other. It made me think of a great first date scent: nothing too loud or too challenging, but very appealing with a touch of uniqueness due to the heavy dose of plum, and it’s something you want to get closer to. Anyone could wear it: sweet enough for the younger crowd, but has some maturity to it in the mid and base. All year rounder due to the heavy notes but mellow projection; less in the summer, more in the winter. Opening is surprisingly good, the mid is just as good if not better, and the base is fantastic as well. Doesn’t smell like a $20, could easily be double the price on discounters and rack stores. Not really synthetic either; the composition is well put together. My favorite blind cheapie in 2021.

We humans are a suggestible lot. The fact that others say this is like Eros, and the inclusion of mint in the description, is apparently enough to make this "a lot like Eros." It isn't. The mint is much lower in the mix here, and this lacks Eros' vanilla. Eros also has a sharpness to it that is completely absent here. I don't like Eros. I do like this. If I were pressed to say what this smells like, I would say La Nuit De La Homme with a hint of mint, and tobacco taking the place of cardamom. It gives the same warm, friendly, lightly-sweet, ambery feel, and even performs similarly. It also has similarities to the hidden gem that is Karl Lagerfeld Bois De Ambre. But looked at by itself, this opens with beautiful aromatics of lavender and ginger, light fruit notes (apparently plum, though I doubt anyone could have guessed that without looking at the notes), counterpointed by touches of mint, bergamot and green geranium. At the 30 minute mark, the plum, tobacco and amber have taken the lead, smoothed by a very light sandalwood, but retaining all of the elements of the opening in the background. It is comforting and comfortable, impossible to dislike. It is understated, in the best sense of the word. Unisex without being feminine. I would avoid this above 80F, but below that this is quite versatile. Office safe, good for casual to semi-formal, a great pick for a date (especially if you don't know if your date likes fragrances). Just a very solid scent, and possibly the best Guess I have tried.

For the longest time I sat and huffed this stuff trying to place the subtle and very appealing background note I was detecting that was so gaht dang familiar and nostalgic to me. WHAT IS IT!? It finally hit me when I looked at this note breakdown. TOBACCO! Extremely nice, though. It smells a tiny bit like one of our old antique snuff boxes that I used to love to sniff all the time as a little kid 😂 (I'm not a smoker lol) but that's not a big deal with this fragrance. My nose kind of sucks, so maybe others can pick it up better. Regardless of that very subtle aspect, it's sweet but on the lighter side of sweet fragrances with the mint and aromatic qualities. I definitely get the comparisons to eros, but I prefer eros parfum's depth a little more than this. They are definitely not the same. To me, 1981 has just a tiny bit more designer floral aspect to it that almost makes it the teeny tiniest bit "soapy" but in a good, clean way. I think it adds balance and is welcome. And don't let what I said about tobacco put you off. It's ridiculously subtle as far as I can tell, and if it's picked up, it is pleasing, nostalgic, masculine, mysterious in a positive way. Honestly you could wear both this and eros parfum (I would spray in different spots) to add depth and it wouldn't be a mess. In terms of bang per buck this might be one of the best scents on earth. What is it like 10 bucks and I'm bothering to write a review lol. Just buy it.

Does this smell like Los Angeles in 1981? No. Is this a quality fragrance. Yes. I must admit, I bought this without reading the reviews first. Like many of you I suppose, I was curious to see if it captured the vibe of the smoggy gutter-slut that was L.A. in the early 1980's. They say that our sense of smell is most closely linked to our memory. As I recall, L.A. in 1981 smelled like a cocktail of Froot-Loops, Band-Aids, and my mother's menthol cigarettes. That being said, I would have rocked this bad boy sideways, while patrolling the strip malls on my Schwinn - Poncherello style! What I smell: a raisin-like pipe tobacco, Old Spice - Timber with Sandalwood Deodorant (cheap clone), Ginger but no Mary Ann. What she smells: amber, plum, chewing tobacco, Her extemporaneous remarks: "Now you can stop rubbing that deodorant all over your neck and telling everyone it's Versace Eros" Fragrances this fragrance would wear if it weren't already a fragrance: Franck Boclet Tobacco, Joop! Homme Ice, Gino Vannelli Nightwalker. Conclusion: Really a nicely constructed fragrance. However, I was hoping it would better capture the Summer of '81. BEST SUMMER EVER!!! My mom dumped us at my old-man's place, and then he took off to a nudist colony with his girlfriend. His apartment had a pool and we ran ass-wild all over that place! Can someone tell me if this memory has been captured in a fragrance???

I got my bottle of Guess 1981 Los Angeles for Men about a year ago and finally cracked it open. I’m surprised I waited this long. The opening could almost be described as fresh, with a touch of bergamot but mostly plum and black pepper, delivering a fruity, spicy kick. The mint and geranium add a cooling effect that blends perfectly with the plum, creating a refreshing feel. As it dries down, all the notes are easily detectable. The ginger adds a touch of zing and spice, while the amber provides a sweet, vanilla-like warmth. The tobacco brings a slightly sweet dryness that balances the cool, watery plum. The sandalwood adds smoothness to the fragrance, and the vetiver enhances the mature edge, giving the scent a more refined finish. If you like Versace Eros but find it too sweet, this is a more refined option. It has that same alluring sweet warmth, but the tobacco and Vetiver lends a more mature vibe. Performance is pretty solid for the price, 6 hours on skin, with good projection for the first 30 minutes, then moderate for 2-3 hours (depending on your skin type) before then becoming more intimate. On clothes, it lasts longer but doesn’t shout, making it perfect for close encounters. Okay, first and foremost I do not have a refined nose. I am a fragrance enthusiast but I can't pick out very many notes in a fragrance But this smells beyond belief. I heard it smelled like Eros which was what attracted me to it because I knew it would not be an exact replica but as soon as I sprayed it onto the back of my hands, wrists, forearms, and neck I got a huge blast of Eros. Almost identical. The drydown is where it got very very very interesting. I was almost moved to tears by how beautiful this fragrance is. I could feel my heart radiating because I am in LOVE with this!!! The weather today is quite sunny, but chilly and windy. The way this fragrance dances and the tobacco note is so cool and vibey it's PERFECT! You still get an Eros vibe throughout but it definitely starts to do its own thing lol. I've had so many fragrances and very few have touched me in a way that this has. This is truly art. Will be buying at least 5 more bottles, just in case they try and discontinue it, but also looking forward to trying the rest of the Guess 1981 line. (The original and indigo) Another thing, this is more "juicy" than Eros, playful, cool, charming, yet refined. Extremely grateful for this! 10/10

This is quite a nice scent. Amber and mint share equal dominance and balance each other. To me this is good, I don't like either note to take the centre. Plum is also noticeable and it seems to wax and wane. I don't get much of the other notes. I smelled edible I was told. Gourmand, noted. Maybe I was a bit noseblind and oversprayed but the projection is fine as well. 3 feet certainly. The presentation is really nice and elegant. Decent bottle and cap. Size wise it looks small, exactly on par with the Encre Noir bottles. But it really is 100ml. Versatility: date night, or Netflix and chill. Colder weather. If applied modestly, heck take it to the office. I am against awarding extra points for pricing. But a decent 7.5/10 fragrance I got for 15 euro? I tip my hat to you Guess. Update 5 Feb 2021: I am upping this to 8/10. And my date complimented it as Very Nice. Yeah. Update 5 Mar 2021: other date also complimented this as Very Nice. Update 15 Mar 2021: a third date complimented it as Nice. Update 28 Jul 2021: another date mentioned how great I smell. Yeah! Genuine date fragrance people!

Rating: 8.5/10 Call me crazy, but Guess 1981 Los Angeles transports me straight to the world of the Lincoln Lawyer. Perhaps it's the essence of Los Angeles that lingers within this scent. LOL! Who knows? Regardless, this was one of my initial cheapie finds, and it is a diamond in the rough! As many others have pointed out, the quality of this fragrance surpasses the bargain ($15) that I received. I believe I purchased my bottle from eBay after watching a YouTube review. I concur with the comparisons drawn with Versace Eros. However, I believe the performance doesn't quite reach the same heights. I probably get like 3-4 hours. Nevertheless, considering its price, I believe it carries its weight and delivers an intriguing blend of warm notes. Pinpointing the exact scent is a challenge, but if I were to paint a picture for you, it would definitely include a dimly lit bar with elegant wood grain decor, while sipping on a Jack and Coke and maybe puffing a fine cigar. Undeniably masculine and remarkably captivating, this fragrance is an absolute must for a blind buy.

It may be me and my batch, but I find the "Eros" portions of this fragrance far outweigh everything else. I get plum first and foremost with this lovely tobacco-vanilla combination, the mint playing in the back. It is that eros style mint and vanilla, but it is a very different fragrance, at least from my experience with my bottle. People seem to say it's almost exactly the same, but I find it to be very different. This could be a flanker of eros with how well that mint vanilla does match, I'd say it'd be like Eros Plum Pudding or something like that lmao. Very good for the fall and winter. A little sweet, so I wouldn't say it's perfect for summer though it's an awesome little fragrance for an awesome price. Smells nothing like it's pricetag. Update: 8-31-24 The Eros quality has calmed down over time. I still get this lovely plum and mint! I like it eve more now. The plum and tobacco and mint make this really stellar! And as an aside the bottle is very pretty :) If this was a song it would be 4:00 A.M by Taeko Onuki.

What a great find, I admit I was intrigued because of people saying it resembles Eros and it is right to an extent. It is a matured and sophisticated version of Eros with an added depth from tobacco. I am not a fan of plum in general but here it is not as acidic and rather gives it a mellow sweetness that compliments the overall scent structure, with amber and sandalwood in the base giving it a nice clean roundness. I am not too sure about the performance as I managed to get about 5-6 hours on my couple of testings, it did project well for the first hour but was a little closer to the skin subsequently. I will have to test it more to get a better understanding, but so it does seem to be fairly average, wish it was a little stronger. It is practically an all-season all-time any occassion classy and modern scent that would justify twice its price. A perfect signature scent for anyone who wants a fragrance for cheap without compromising on the quality.

The opening of this is kind of similar to Eros, but way better to me, because I love ginger when it's blended well. And though it's listed as a note in the mid, I get that ginger snapping in the citrus, plum and pepper right from the start. Over the course of the next hour, the citrus and mint pull back and the sweet tobacco, amber and woods warm up and it becomes a wonderful slightly fruity, ambery, woody, sweet spicy scent that is perfectly balanced and works well in any weather below 80 degrees. It reminds me a little of Captain Morgan and Coke, but it's not boozy. I'd call this more of an amber spicy than an amber fougere, but your nose may vary. I get decent projection and it lasts 5 - 6 hours for me. I bought this on clearance for $14 at TJMaxx. This is the type of fragrance that I hope to find when I blind buy cheap fragrances from rack stores. I will pay a lot more if needed to replace it if something happens to my bottle.

You know the more I wear this fragrance it's kind of weird to me. Now don't get me wrong of course I love it it's what I'm wearing today. But first of all I don't get the comparison for the similarity to Versace Eros. Probably because I don't own Eros so I can't smell them side by side. But I would never guess based on the presentation and juice color and everything that it would smell anywhere close to a Versace. Also second point is it's a weird thing where when I smell it I can visualize things and anybody that is in the fragrance community knows what I'm talking about, but for me it's weird I envision a cheap trailer park trailer with wood panels you know the old type they used to use in the 70s and what those would smell like given their own fragrance. Also the juice being so dark which I totally love it seems like it would capture the smog filled air that was present in Los Angeles say perhaps in 1981.

I adore this scent. It's almost everything I hoped it would be after being recommended this cologne so many times. The sweet plum and sweeter end of tobacco mixed with the amber and the hint of mint really makes this scent stand out. I fell in love with it right after the cool down. Though I have 2 gripes with this cologne, and one of them is most likely an area and/or temporary thing. First, it's hard to find anywhere. Even Amazon was a struggle and I ended up paying $35 instead of $25 (USD). Second, it doesn't last that long for me. I get at most 2 hours of smell before it's completely gone. It's a shame because like I stated prior, it's a great scent. I've heard people say it lasts upwards of 6 hours and I guess I'm just not that lucky. If there were travel sizes available, this wouldn't be such a pain. As much as I'd love for this to be an all day scent, it's just not an option for me.

I picked this up for $22. The 3.4oz bottle came with a generously sized body spray and an equally impressive shower gel. I gave the spray and gel to a homeless guy before I got home. He didn’t seem to appreciate it any more than I did. So... the fragrance... . It has the sweet DNA that I would nearly turn gay for. The fresh, minty, aromatic opening is a near clone of Eros edt BUT... 1981 LA has a black pepper note which reins in the sweetness just a bit when compared to Eros. I don’t sense the tobacco note that others do but it definitely has a darker base than Eros. The main difference between the two is performance. Eros comes with nuclear capabilities, while 1981 lasts a few hours. If performance were better I’d give it a 9.5. Instead it gets an 8.

This shines as an EDT. A prime example showing how a fragrance in EDT form can be perfectly balanced and airy. If 1981 Los Angeles were to be an EDP the base would outweigh the brilliance of the top and middle notes and it would become just another amber sweet tobacco frag. The plum and geranium really play a huge starring role and transform the tobacco and sandalwood into something absolutely unique and beautiful while the vetiver and amber bring out that quietly sweet vanillic creaminess that makes this fragrance addictive. It’s not too much, not too little. It doesn’t scream at others in your space but it will be noticed as it quietly sings it tune. It’s brilliant, and it’s $12.

Just got home from my first evening of full wear. I gotta say, I love it. Has a deep, rich, sweetness to it that’s intoxicatingly interesting. As for compliments, it’s a monster. I got my first compliment at a gas station outside at the pumps. I don’t know if you’ve ever smelled gasoline but it’s a very potent and strong scent. This guy pumping gas on the other side smelled it and instantly wanted to know what it was. That was astonishing to me. A fragrance that’s smells hood enough and strong enough to pierce through gasoline. Crazy right? For the price, absolute banger. Longevity so far is good. Perfect for a night out when you need it to last throughout. Great recommendation.

A super underrated hidden gem. Very similar to Versace Eros. I heard it described as a grown up version of Eros, and I agree. Very pleasant dry down. I get about 6 - 8 hours on skin and longer on clothes, but it sounds like I'm lucky with that. I own Eros EDP and Maison Alhambra Jubilant Oros (decent Eros dupe) and do not find this redundant at all, but I can see some doing so as it definitely smells very Eros-like. It could definitely be an Eros flanker for sure. If you like Eros DNA or minty vanilla (with a very light but detectable tobacco in the background) scents, this is a no-brainer.

My First guess fragrance smells like Versace Eros in the opening Fresh and minty after some time Eros will go towards vanilla and it goes towards fruity smell of plum but I agree both of the fragrances smell almost identical but 1981 LS is not cheap at all I put it in same category of any other designer perfume I love its fragrance its fresh sweet and spicy. One of sexiest fragrance I Own if you want Eros vibe in less $ go for it and if you own Eros you must buy it I love it ,1981 stays longer on my skin than clothes and smells better on skin too I suggest spraying it on skin.

I really like this one and wear it most days especially at night as it has a soothing warmth to it. I def get the Eros vibe but it’s not a sharp or fresh. More leather spice and warmth rather than the higher note of Eros (which I also own and enjoy. I spray two sprays behind ears maybe one on chest and it lasts for 3-4 hours. Projection is fair but not too over powering. They can be a good thing. A safe warmth scent for most occasions. For the price I can live with the performance as I got a 100 ml bottle for cheap. A blind buy for 27CAD and I highly recommend it.

Versace Eros all the way through, in the air it's impossible to tell any difference between the two, only if you compare them side by side upclose you can recognise they are not exactly the same scent. The only big differences are the performances, Guess 1981 is a less loud version of Eros because it doesn't last like the Versace one, that's it. To me this Guess has an unbelivable value for the price, i only paid it 15 Euros and the quality of the blend and the presentation are way ahead than what it cost, no doubt about it, i don't know why this gets hated. 9/10

I scored this fragrance at a local fragrance shop for about $20. The performance wasn't super impressive at the beginning, but over time improved into moderate territory (about 6 hours longevity). The scent profile is similar to that of Versace Eros, but made more mature thanks to the inclusion of the tobacco note. My issue with Eros was that it was too bubblegum-y sweet to my nose, but Guess 1981 Los Angeles adding the tobacco note resolved all issues I had with that scent profile. Give this one a shot if you are looking for an alternative to the Eros DNA.

Oh my god this fragrance is so gooooodd. The story behind of me buying this is that I bought a sample of eros, wanted to see why is it so popular and I knew it right away why it was popular. I was like wow this is awesome but can this get any better?? It sure can. This fragrance is it. Love the plum and the tobacoo in it. Basically more masculine eros. The drydown is different than eros tho. The downside to it is the performance. The projection is good but the longevity is mid. About 4-5 hours longe. and 1-2 strong prjctn. Overall 10/7.5 for me

I thought people might be exaggerating, but you guys were not kidding. This does smell extremely similar to Versace Eros. Almost exactly. People saying it's a more mature Eros is spot on. I don't see ambroxan in the notes but I smell it. This is $20 at fragrancenet. People always talk about Nautica Voyage, and other cheap fragrances, but are sleeping on this and Guess Seductive Homme Blue. If you love Eros for the scent (and not the name) you will love this.

TRUST me, this fragrance is insanely good for its price which is around 20$ for 100ml. It has many similarities to Eros and I agree with many reviews here, however I would say that Eros smells "more natural" and fruity. In my opinion this fragrance is very comparable to Eros Flame. Its definitely a good fragrance for the price, but sadly it doesnt get much attention as the house of Guess is not respected that much in the community.

This is the manly version of Eros, more mature. This is a smoother not as loud version of an Eros scent, for me it is a scent you could wear just about anywhere with out choking anyone out. This is a cooler weather scent or controlled environment such as air conditioning. I get a little better than average performance 6-7 hours with a 2 hour projection. It is blind buy worthy as long as you know this is on the sweeter side,

I think many people become desensitized to the experience and are unaware of it. This scent lasts 6-8 hours on skin (3 sprays.) and even longer on clothes with a few sprays (2). This is like Versace Eros but with more depth with a little bit of fruit and tobacco. This is underrated. 8/10. This is for men, and I think it's suitable for any age. I think this is good all year-round, but maybe decrease the sprays in the summer.

Blind bought this for my father and wow was i really surprised and blown away by it. Really did not expect just how amazing it smells!!! paid 30$ cad for 100ml but it easily smells like its worth at least 60-80$. Kinda wish i bought it for myself instead actually 😂😂. Such a perfect balance of spicy freshness and warmth with just the right amount of slight sweetness. Definitely can't go wrong picking this as a blind buy!!

Really inoffensive vanilla/spice cologne. Smells clean, nice, and it's not overpowering. Three sprays will last a while, and it's a really good smell to wear to the office. This is very much a pleasant crowd-pleaser. It's not going to get you too many compliments - but it's also just meant to be super chill. No good way to describe it other than simple, nice, spicy, warm, vanilla, and affordable. Great daily wear.

I'm not a big fan of Versace Eros as it feels a bit too sweet and "young" for me; this is in the style of Eros, but more grown up. Opens with juicy peppery plum and bergamot which then quickly transitions into a warm ginger-mint and geranium heart. The dry down is sweet amber, grassy vetiver tobacco, and sandalwood. It was a surprising good Guess fragrance that I think would do well in a date night situation.

This actually smells a lot like Eros, but a little bit woodier, less sweet and subtle and not so heavy on the vanilla. It's a shame the sillage is lacking, If this lasted a little longer I'd actually consider selling my bottle of Eros and getting this stuff. At 20 bucks, go nuts. This stuff is a good deal, but keep in mind you're gonna have to use like 10 sprays to get similar performance to Eros. 9/10

Great alternative to Eros. Can vary a bit based off of skin chemistry however I feel that it is more mature than Eros and for a fraction of the price you cannot go wrong. I did not expect much out of this fragrance considering the brand's reputation, however, this one does almost everything right and is a great alternative to Eros if you want to save some money.

Yep, smells like Eros minus about $40. Get this and $ave $ome buck$. After a few wears, I've noticed this stuff lasts longer than a lot say, and longer than i thought at first. I get a solid 8+ hours from about 6 sprays. It seems to last forever on my clothing. This is probably my favorite cheapie out of 30+ bottles. Very smooth and sweet. Great fragrance.

A lovely warm fruity perfume. Similar to WOW but has its own character and is woodier. Good price point. It's very nice on all counts. *Update* The dry down is the best bit with a distinct and well done tobacco note and the silage is lovely. Don't under-estimate this EDT - this is so pleasant. It's a love from me and I would buy this again.

Second time wearing this and I changed from like to love. There is a comforting, gentle quality to it and a sweet complexity that evolves from a minty-sweet quality to a warmer, jam-on-toast kind of vibe. Not sure about the comparisons with Versace Eros as I've not worn that, but this does not feel like a club scent to me.

This is the Nautica Voyage of the fall/winter season. There’s absolutely no reason not to buy this cheapie unless you’re a snob. Even if you don't wear this that often, it’s still worth owning. Versatile for any situation in cool weather. Many people only get moderate longevity, but I actually get 9-10hrs on my skin.

It's nice. Sweet with a hint of spice, and rounded. I wear it alot as a dumb reach. To my nose the only thing I don't like, if I'm going to nit pick, is a subtle kind of plastic scent I pick up. It's a bit too sweet for FL summer, but is not ultra sweet. Longevity is average, projection is average. Solid for $20

First time i smelled it thought it was copy of Eros....but now i see its not that similar. Lower quality and fruitier. No real perceivable mint note which is the magic in eros IMO and its less deep in construction. Not a bad fragrance. Similar if your not an Eros fan, but actually not that good

In my opinion THE MOST underrated CHEAP cold weather fragrance. 20$ for 100ml depending on where u pick it up. Smells mainly sweet with tobacco and other spices and woods. I use this on cold days I don't want to wear my SB Extreme on. Truly an underrated and unknown side fragrance to try!

How are people saying this only lasts an hour or two tops? I got this for $20 at Burlington 2020 and my bottle lasts at least 7 hours. It's very smooth and leaves a nice trail. This is perfect for all seasons except Summer. Eros is loud, nice but loud. This is more mature.

I was also founded in 1981, so I'm fond of this Guess series. Basically if you have this, you really don't need Eros Parfum (not EDT), and it's not only the opening, they are almost identical all the way through. Nice perfume.

For some reason on this fragrance the tobacco note comes through really strong for me on the dry down. At first I smell a lot of the sweet plum notes in the opening but those are the two main notes that I smell in this.

oh man, after 3 years of macerating in my closet it is VERY VERY ok juice, gentelmen smell for the colder outumn evening, even date night perfume easy, so classy and calm, good juice :)

It smells great, a little sweeter than eros - honey and plum come through to me. I'd say it's your perfect 5/10 scent. A little more dailyable than eros - would be OK for the office.

What a fantastic fragrance! I get the VE vibes but in a cooler, grown up brother smoking cigs kind of way. I wish the performance was a bit better and this could be perfect!. (9/10)

Sucky longevity and projection. I payed a lil over 50 euros for a 200 ml Eros that this one is cloning and the real deal performs like a normal frag is supposed to. Smells nice tho

One of the best cheapies you can find imo. It is similar to Eros but you can make out the different notes like the tobacco. Performance is good on my skin. Highly recommend.

Purchased a 100ml bottle of this scent for $13.59 at Burlington. Very good scent. Reminds me alot of versace Eros. A more refined Eros for more adult male.

There's a distinct similarity between this fragrance and the original Givenchy gentleman dry down. 1981 is sweeter and less complex but the DNA is there.
