Guess Dare

Nothing daring about this. Just straight up pretty and gentle! I might be lucky because this just smells amazing on my skin. I was super surprised by it! It gives me the same vibes as my Acqua Colonia Starfruit and white flowers from 4711, in that it is a light and watery, juicy fruit (not quite citrus but not stepping into apricot or peach territory) with a tiny hint of greeness, mixed with blossom-like spring white flowers. It's sweet kumquat, watery green cactus, and spring blossom! It's making me chuckle how much I disagree with other reviews on here! Kumquat up the top with the cactus. I don't get any rose. I can definitely get the jasmine but it's so well blended with the lemon and pear blossom that it doesn't just turn into a jasmine scent (I can't wear most jasmine-heavy perfumes fyi!), but it's kept sweet and..... not so much creamy, but cosy from the coconut in the base. It doesn't actually smell like a recognisable coconut but you can kind of get a sense of something comforting in the base, that's holding the composition together and I think it's the coconut. The woods aren't woody if that makes sense? They just give it a bit of depth. A beautiful clean creamy musk too! Think Jennifer Lopez Still sort of musk. Actually, it has that sort of light perfume with a tea note kinda vibe so if you like those kind of perfumes you might be on to a winner here. Plus it's such a bargain! In terms of performance, this one is LIGHT! It's a skin scent really. I can smell it on me for about 8 hours during the day but it has very little projection unless you massively over-spray it. I love it though and when I wore it to bed, I could still smell it when I sniffed my arm in the morning, even after my shower (a long one that included washing and conditioning my hair!) so the scent hangs around forever, but only up very close. To manage expectations, I think it's fair to say that this one is a 'your skin but better' kind of perfume. It's so very soft and pretty and comfortable to wear. Dare is absolutely one of those skin scents that turns a cuddle into a neck nuzzle, followed by very deep inhalation and probably a sigh.... or a moan.... or a growl! Thinking about the deep dry down of this, If you know what Cerruti 1881 smells like, then you can imagine what the musk in Dare smells like. Dare could be an 1881 summer flanker...... I think that’s why I’m so in love with it!

If you like Guess Dare but it's too sour for you as it is for me due to the pear-cactus pairing, go grab VS Crisp Marigold Pear, they are similar, but the latter is sweeter and combines some more elements. I can smell the syrupy honey, it's a solar, sugared vibe here, and paired with the marigold they give a sunny, subtle dusty-floral flair to the scent, hence why they talk about a "sunlit garden" on the back of the bottle due to the honey giving that sunkissed vibe like yellow flowers in the sun. The marigold is always a slightly dusty-floral note as in BBW Gingham Glow. The toasty musk at first is spicy-sweet, a nice gourmand touch. The pear makes VS "crisp marigold pear' high pitched/tart as Dare, giving some desert vibe, but not overly sour, while Dare turns too sour on me due to the cactus. The marigold adds some floral sweetness aside from the dusty-floral element which again is not obnoxiously dusty like BBW Fresh Cut Lilacs is. Both Guess Dare and Crisp Marigold Pear remind me also of BBW Ivory Cashmere at times due to their tart musky element, but the latter is spicy due to the white amber. I'd say they are in the same league as Ivory Cashmere, but not dupes of that.

I was in Kohls testing fragrances. This one made me pause and think "Wow, that's different!" Right away I got musk & fruit, two of my favorite accords. So I check the notes - kumquat and cactus. Yeah, not your normal floral musk! This kinda reminds me of what folks would wear at Coachella. It's got a California desert vibe. It develops in a stunning way and lasts forever. On me, the notes just work in sync and blend effortlessly. The kumquat is ripe on the tree, the cactus is sharp and green, and the two blossom notes (pear and lemon) are rich and heady. I'm almost a little overwhelmed by this, and worry if I spray too much I could get sick from the juicy florals. Later at home, I wanted that wood note to shine through, so I layered this with another woody/fruity fragrance - Burberry Classic. And OMG, the perfect peach - woody - musky - floral - fruit combo is finally REALIZED. Note: I tested this on the hottest day so far in the California heat, and I think thats why it lasted so long and projected so far. Heat makes it bloom. Really a summer perfume.

This was a pleasant suprise as this EDT is simply delicious - it is fresh, fruity, slightly tart but in a savory way, there is also subtle sweetness and light florals. Briliantly blended and does not smell outdated. There are also no sharp or synthetic notes! Vibe wise I'd say this is how a carefree young and beautiful girl would smell prancing through a pear orchard during bloom. Make no mistake - there is no pear listed, it is simply so savory, it reminds me of a juicy pear, the kind you bite in and the juices flow down your arm, the kind that is so ripe, that after that bite, it's delicious fragrance fills the room, making you forget about your wet hand. Only downside is that it is subtle so you need to overspray for performance but at this price and with no harsh notes, that is not an issue!

I was gifted this by my friend jean and it's seriously a beautiful perfume. I am obsessed with it. First thing I smelled was coconut, and it's not a Beachy scent, but it's so unusual to me. I haven't smelled anything like it, and it's not generic, like most guest fragrances, and it's very well blended in for the price point, you get what you paid for but it's just a good perfume. It's not something super special, but it's different, right. And it's good. I could see a grown woman wearing this or I could see a young girl. Wearing this, it's very versatile and you can use it. If you want to dress up or you just, wanna have a chill day. What's perfect for any occasion?And it lasts a decent time.

A very fresh, light, fruity floral scent, this is clean laundry and fresh fruits. Really pretty for every day wear, a very easy reach and suitable for work. I’m really happy to have this in my collection and have been spritzing this on summer days and nights when I want to smell fresh and clean. In the dry down I’m getting creamy and sweet coconut which I’m loving, so this is a perfect fresh, slightly green, slightly aquatic, floral, fruit scent. I will say that this isn’t groundbreaking in any way but it’s extremely pleasant, and super pretty, uplifting and clean.

This is a love for me. Im almost out of my first bottle and I hope I have a backup. I spray this on my skin and hoodie, and I can still smell it on me the next morning. Thats lasting power! Its green and bright but the greenness is not subdued. As soon as you spray it, its strong and in your face. Maybe some don't like that but I definitely do. Id put this in the same group as my Vince Camuto Capri in terms of the bright green zing, the fact that they are both refreshing and uplifting and they both last pretty well on me, especially if sprayed on clothing.

Tried it today, a very refreshing scent. On me it was mostly tropical fruit, reminded me of a fruity celeb scent...but i cant put my finger on it. Also smells similar to a few few Tommy Hilfigers. Very sweet and fresh at the same time. It has the just-out-the-shower-feel to it but with something extra added, like a sensual sweetness to it. i would like to buy one - i really like it for sure. Great for an every day fragrance, easy, affordable and longevity pretty good! :)

That's an amazing perfume! Smells so fresh but sexy and mysterious at the same time. It is very different from any other fragrance that I own and it is indeed a bit unisex. It's more on the feminine side,though. The lasting power is so disappointing, only 1-2 hours for me and I combine it with the body lotions. Although I love it and think that it's unique, I won't buy it again just because it's not long lasting. It's not even moderate it's weak to poor.

I love it so much, it’s different from all my other perfumes, very clean unique and fresh without being too floral which is hard for me to find. I mainly smell pear, it made me realize that i love pear notes in perfume. I pair it with dkny be delicious, and feel like i just walked out of a spa every time. Longevity & sillage are not very good however.

One of the best cheapie out there. Great value. Smells really sophisticated yet at the same time playful. Love how it wraps you up in a bubble of its scent. Definitely has very strong citrusy white floral note and can almost be described as sparkly. Can easily be made a go-to fragrance, safe for all kinds of occasions and places.

Am loving it..can't stop putting my wrist under my nose..smells like guava & a little bit pear..isn't so faminine, isn't the kind that you would wear with skirts/gowns. A tropical scent which i find energizing, calming & bold. Good staying power. Love the packaging..the bottle looks elegant & nice to touch & hold

Ahhh this is actually a perfectly charming, not at all serious summer fragrance for me! I love the initial sour burst of kumquat that gently melds into the florals. The cactus flower adds a bracing green element that keep s it from becoming too cloyingly floral. It's just pure delight and just right!

I'm in love with this perfume,it's a wonderful fruity fragrance with good strength and good longevity,to me for some reason it smells more expensive than it is and was surprised how much I ended up liking this perfume,will purchase again.

Soft and utterly gorgeous. Cactus blossom is one of my favorites, and I so love it with the lemon. Wears beautifully in warm weather.Edit: only performs in the warmest weather. But still so fresh and pleasant.

This defines beautiful and sophisticated. Very soft with fruity-musk mix and leaves. Very interesting. If you're a soft-scented perfume lover, go for it.

Gorgeous scent! It's citruishly floral, but smells expensive.

I just received a 1oz. bottle of Guess Dare that I purchased on Amazon for $7.50. You really can’t beat that, even with a blind buy, which this was. I sprayed it on a piece of card stock first, and a few hours later, I tried it on my skin, and I’m pleasantly surprised. I have to say that this fragrance is exactly what I expected it to be: a light, fresh, fruity floral without a whole lot of depth. I get a lot of citrus when I first spray this - very bright, sunny citrus. The citrus notes were very prominent on the card stock I tried this on, and they hung around for quite some time, but on my skin, they evaporated quickly, and the heart notes of cactus flower along with the woody base really came through. If you’ve ever smelled the scent Cactus Blossom from BBW, this fragrance is almost identical to that one. The cactus flower is by far the most prominent note, on me at least. About an hour or so in, that woody base becomes soft and comforting, and it’s very much a skin scent. This fragrance is great if you need a “safe” scent, whether it’s for work or school or an event. I honestly don’t know how this perfume could offend anyone, but I did read the other reviews, so I understand that not everyone enjoys it. It’s really just a nice, light, easy fragrance for daily use. For the price, I recommend picking one up.

This is something I would expect from a mainstream perfume brand, that is to say it's "perfumey" but not cloyingly so. It's actually a more subtle fragrance and I think it could be unisex as it's not too masculine nor overwhelmingly feminine. It opens with a slightly masculine, musky accord but then dives right into dark, dusky fruits to me. A light touch of white floral rounds it out. I like to sniff fragrances and form my own impressions before I look up their notes, so I see I was pretty close here with the main notes of musky, fruity and floral. The silage is moderate; I kept caching whiffs of it but it sat fairly close to the body overall. I get the feeling it would trail me a bit more if it were sprayed on rather than dabbed on. It lasted about 3 hours on me but the drydown was rather flat. It lacked the fruit and was mainly musk with the white floral taking on a slightly metallic tone towards the end. I like this fragrance quite a lot on me, but am not in love. It's not quite special and intoxicating enough to captivate me as some more unique fragrances are. I'll definitely use the sample from time to time but probably wouldn't purchase a full bottle.
