Iconic Blue

Essentially this is Versace Eros EDT if you got rid of that mint opening for a more clean lavender slightly salty opening. The lavender actually develops in the mid to something more fresh and aromatic sorta like a Le Male flanker but it actually just kinda swerves right back to Eros in the dry down just a bit more woody and a little less ambery. This might be slightly sweeter and denser overall but it's still a little less linear to make up for it. Honestly this is better to me than Eros I really hate the opening of Eros and think this is miles better in that aspect. But seriously this is Eros through and through it's maybe the like 15% more fresh version or something like it is so similar at almost every point they are neighbors on the same street sorta deal. The quality is there and even though this is slightly overplayed this is a great deal if you want Eros. I don't see why you would ever buy Eros when this exists unless you just love the Eros opening.

So bad, it's kinda good. It's obviously synthetic, and feels completely synthetic. But I like soapy fragrances, and this is intensely soapy with lavender, geranium, and a musk fixitive. Whatever they are using for the musk (probably galaxolide) has a thick and fatty vibe which I like. Smells like it would make a great room spray or candle.

Ok so I think most people would agree that guess fragrances don’t have high expectations in general. Overall they’re not bad but nothing to hype up. In my extremely unprofessional opinion, this one falls in that same category. Starts off with bright citrus, lavender, aromatic and powdery from the tonka. Gives off a decent blue type fragrance feel but not necessarily like your typical blues, more so in a similar space as Ralph’s Club EDT (not saying it is a dupe of that just in that space), but that is very brief. Once it hits the mid and begins to dry down it has some striking similarities to another guess fragrances created by the same perfumer and that’s Guess Los Angeles 1981. Which has comparisons to Versace Eros. Now it is different enough with other nuances to separate itself bringing more freshness to the fragrance. Where this has the lemon and sea salt up top and the lavender in the mid replacing the mint and ginger combo and the lack of tobacco and amber in the base. As far as comparisons to Eros, this one lacks the apple, mint and vanilla but still gives off that familiarity. Not a dupe or a clone, seems to be more of a twist if you will, a little fresher and an attempt at making the DNA blue. Nothing spectacular in terms of originality. Not quite a clone/dupe of anything but takes inspiration from others. Projection is decent for about an hour or so, longevity is better than expected and is more of a true EDP as I’m getting about 8 hours +. It’s an easy dumb reach. I got mine for free but wouldn’t pay full retail, wait a few months and you’ll probably find it at one of the rack stores for $30. At that point give it a try if any of this interests you. Can't say I'm super disappointed but I expected a little more given this is an older, overplayed DNA. Overall, not a bad fragrance still would give it a 6.5-7/10.
