Mysterious Tahara

A pretty musk scent with dried fruits and violet or orris. Maybe a faint touch of rose? Slightly powdery, as well with some vanilla. I have Tahara Vanilla, and this smells just like it with added sweet notes. I don’t know why they would release something without telling the notes. I have seen a lot of returns for this scent and I’m guessing it’s due to not knowing anything about the notes. Fortunately, this was something I loved and I’m glad it was given to me as a gift, otherwise I would have never purchased it myself because of the unreleased notes. To me, this is a universally pleasing scent, but scent is subjective and I would suggest getting a decant or to pass altogether if you don’t like musk or powdery scents. Edit 05/01: Ok, so the weather has been a bit rainy in my northeastern city and I’ve been wearing some really cozy scent combos to match the cloudy wet spring days. I came back to say that this might sound crazy, but hear me out: Layering Mysterious Tahara + Bianco Latte ( or its dupes) smells AMAZING!!

I was trying to figure out what this smells like to me, and it finally clicked. It reminds me of the original smell of Hempz lotion. The regular original scent says that it has tropical banana, plumeria, and pineapple in the lotion. It might not have any of the notes listed, but that's what this mysterious girl smells like to me.:) The longevity isn't great, but I have just received mine and I KNOW that gulf orchids fragrances always bloom after sitting and settling for a minute. I have been looking for a scent to go with my hempz for summer, and this is it.:)

Very nice and fairly unisex fresh out of the shower-scent without being overly so. Slightly powdery white musk but not in the dated and/or screechy sense. It's a bit in your face at application but give it 15-30 minutes to mellow down a bit. Lasting power is very good for the price, around 8 hours on me. Showered with Rituals of Karma shower mousse and it layers very nicely with it. Definitely a hot weather-perfume in my opinion!

I tried to come into this one with zero expectations so I could experience a mysterious surprise! I’m a sucker for a musk/vanilla/powder combo, and this really hits the spot right out of the gate. As it dries down, the dried fruit and incense with a hint of rose start to arrive, but they are subtle. Overall, this has more depth than I expected. This is one that smells really really different on skin vs a blotter.

A beautiful sweet-floral musk that works perfectly for daytime wear. It offers impressive longevity and projection for a musk-based scent, making it both delicate and noticeable. I own three perfumes from this musk line by Gulf Orchid, and I genuinely enjoy all of them, as each one brings its own unique twist. They’re also surprisingly fun to layer and mix, which makes the collection even more versatile.

What a nice surprise! First 15minutes, a note that is not referenced is horrible. Kind of horrible oakmoss. But after that, I TOTALLY AGREE with Maria0802: "It's smells like a Lush store". <3 More accuratly, it reminds me the smell of the discontinued Lush Soap named Rock Star, that I adore. And a little bit of Rua Radiant Roses. So, thank you Maria0802, your coment made me buy this precious gem!

A delicate, creamy composition wrapped in a powdery veil. Feminine and softly sweet, yet not gourmand, it remains subtle and refined. It lingers on fabric for a long time with gentle projection, forming an elegant and safe skin scent. Easy to wear and clean—though not in a soapy, cosmetic way—this fragrance feels smoother and more sophisticated. A very pleasant scent to wear.

This is soft and girly. It doesn't last very long but it puts you in a sweet warm cloud. I have no idea what the notes are but I was told that in the Middle East the original musk that this is based on is used for intimate feminine hygiene. I can see why. Pure soft feminine.

There are days when we are oversaturated with "dangerous" scents, when we just want the scent of freshness, purity, lightness, airiness. This is exactly that scent. My highest possible recommendation. (if you're afraid of musk, here it's like a feather)

When I saw the name Tahara I thought it was just gonna be one of the super pure white musks, not aware there was a range of others in different colours. The Gulf Orchid website lists Top notes : mysterious Middle notes : mysterious Base notes : mysterious. I had to accept this challenge lol ! Someone mentions a Lush store in their review and the first thing that sprang to my mind when I tried this was the new Lush limited edition Hello Kitty shower gel. I get a creamy, powdery milkshakey musk bordering on banana and in the background the teeniest tiniest whiff of Miraaj exclusif. Maybe there's a drop of cardamom in there? Dates? A little grapey? I really don't know. It's a very sweet edible musk. The Tahara Vanilla version lists generic "fruity notes" and "creamy flowers" with the image of a cupcake ? 🧁 on Fragrantica so this is probably along the same lines. It's a pyjama fragrance for me or to layer. I love the lilac milky look of the bottle . 💜 Mood : showered,simple, cozy. I'm back after more sniffing. Today it kind of reminded me of custard apples (cherimoya) but I don't think that will be in it, more like vanilla , but defo feel like there's something a bit fruity in there, maybe even a bit sour. Could it be plum? That would go with the purple theme but is the purple a clue or not? I feel like its swaying me. Some people have mentioned violets but I'm not getting that at all. Plum, vanilla, cardamom? Anyone else get that? I'm really interested to see what everyone else thinks. It would be fun if there was a prize for correctly guessing the notes!

I have no idea what's in this aside from Musk, Musk and Musk (lol) but it sweetens as it develops on my skin. It's like a "your skin but better" perfume, perfect if you're not used to strong scents, or if you aren't allowed to wear perfume at work. It just smells like the scent left behind by your soap, and it's musky too. I don't find myself buying a full bottle of this (I got a 10ml decant) but I don't mind using my decant up for days where I just want to smell clean and subtle.

Honestly the dry down of Mysterious Musk reminds me a lot of Modest Deux. This is like a lighter muskier version. Not my favorite scent profile, but it smells nice :) Obsessed with the bottle though! I think if you like Modest Deux you will also like this. For those who haven’t tried that one, it’s like sophisticated dark chocolate berries. A little musky and powdery.

It smells a lot like inside of the LUSH store. Just imagine this generic smell of lush bath products and give it not too offensive projection. That would be this mysterious tahara. Sweet, inoffensive, pleasant. Edit: in dry down actually reminds me a lot of Kilian „woman in gold“. Not in a dupe way, but just „if you like this - you will like that“ way.

This smells almost identical to kayali candy rock sugar. And I already own the 100ml bottle of that, this was $23 on Amazon and since I like the bottle I won't return it, it does dry down better than the kayali that one does a armpit smell on me kinda.

A couple of people here mentioned how it smells like a lush store — it smells like walking into a lush store or a similar type store with lots of fragrances in the air. It's not as chaotic on the nose as it sounds I promise lol. But have you ever walked into a nice smelling store and wondered what smelt so nice and no matter what you sniffed, none of them matched the air around you? It absolutely gives that vibe. Musky, lotion-y, came out of a nicely scented bath vibes. Good to go straight out the bottle and might be a little more potent than expected. Smells like peach or apricot for a moment then dries down fruity musky. There's definitely some vanilla here. So it's nice but like defs not edible gourmand, still a fruity, cool, kind of fresh musk. I prefer it in cooler weather personally, I like how it projects airer in cooler air. It develops and dries down warmer on the skin than initial spray, but then becomes rather cosy and second skin like after like 30 minutes. It's a nice easy fragrance really, lack of notes keeps you curious but otherwise a nice addition to the collection.

At first, this is quite alcoholic. It's a sweet, musky baby wipe scent. Also very waxy. But like a... stylish baby wipe. Something flowery, vanillic, slightly soapy, milky underneath the musk, but it mostly reminds me of the sweetness from a sugar rock candy with a touch of generic fruit. Easy to wear, but makes me cough a little, without having a strong scent. This is perfect if you want to smell soft, sweet, fluffy and feminine. Quite boring though. I think this is what I wanted Donna Born In Roma Ivory's base to be, but it's rather a flat powder instead. I'll have to try to layer them.

To me, this smells kinda like marshmallow-scented candle wax... it's sweet in an unspecific way, with a waxy, even almost bitter quality. Can get cloying quite easily in my experience. A certain influencer hyped up this whole collection so badly I felt I wanted to try one of the perfumes. If this is the lane they're all in, they are definitely not for me. Also, I'm starting to seriously doubt this guy's taste.

I saw at least 2 influencers hyping this up. Do not believe them. It smells extremely synthetic and harsh. Air freshener mixed with bug spray. I’m not surprised though. I got an even worse reaction to the Vanilla Tahara from this line. The Angel, Cotton Candy and Toffee are safe blind buys. The vanilla and Mystery are not. I hope spraying this out some and letting it mature improves it. Otherwise, this may get donated because I’m not comfortable selling it as is and I doubt there will be any takers. You’ve been warned. Edit: All the reviews are glowing?! Could mine be fake or a bad batch? This is also getting harder to find. Perhaps discontinued so not sure if I’ll ever find a decant to compare?

Reminds me of vanilla rock candy by kayali with added pear and palma violets. Its sweet candy-like but it has an aromatic musk and Violet that makes it creamy, powdery, very feminine and pretty. I like it alot, its both complex and simple, its a simple concept with an east to understand vibe, but is actually complex in that I am detecting alot of notes. Its very strong, sillage is pretty impressive, do not over-spray it. It is not a clean skin scent like the lack of listed notes suggests. I could see some finding it sickly or cloying. What I would say is that the sillage has air freshener vibes. It smells perfumey, slightly synthetic. But still, its nice nicer than i was expecting. I will be wearing it, it feels like a cozy girly spring scent to me.
