Vanilla Addiction

This fragrance has amazing performance. I absolutely love KAYALI’s Vanilla 28, but one thing I always wished for was a little more longevity. That’s why I was so excited to try Gulf Orchid’s interpretation—and wow, they really nailed it. Right from the opening, I get that beautiful sharp lavender note that gives it a clean, slightly aromatic edge before it melts into the smoothest, creamiest vanilla. The rose adds this elegant sophistication that keeps it from smelling too sugary or juvenile. It feels refined, warm, and addictive all at once. The woody notes and patchouli stay present from beginning to end, grounding the sweetness and giving the fragrance depth and character. I originally reached for this mostly in winter and spring because it has that cozy, comforting vibe—but let me tell you... this scent absolutely comes alive in the summer heat. The warmth transforms the vanilla into something richer, deeper, and honestly kind of sexy. It projects beautifully and leaves the prettiest scent trail without becoming overwhelming. This is the kind of perfume that makes people lean in and ask what you’re wearing. Sweet, mature, feminine, and confident. I can’t stop wearing it.

At first I was disappointed because the patchouli musk heavy opening smelled just like Eshal Vanilla. Then 5 minutes later when it dried i kept getting whiffs of gorgeous deep Vanilla. This is much closer to Vanilla 28 than eshal vanilla which is what I wanted! It's brand new from Burlington so hoping it will last longer with time and the opening will tone down, but its gorgeous as is. I am seriously blown away by the depth of this for less than $20. Like why would I spend over 5 times the money for Kayali when I have this? That was rhetorical, I am gonna keep that money and get the other dupes from gulf orchid because if there as good as this there's literally no reason to. The vanilla is warmed slightly by brown sugar and is made huff-worthy by the deep patchouli and musk. I dislike patchouli, but it just deepens and darkens the vanilla in this. The floral in this just keep it from being too deep and resinous and instead just slightly dark and seductive. I cannot wait how much better this stuff gets with age. I think I like it better than Kayali? It's like 95% similar but that extra 5% is magic.

Pretty much just better Vanilla 28. I wore both at the same time on my skin and this last longer, has more vanilla, and projects better. The Kayali only last about 6 hours, maybe a bit more, on my skin while this last about 8+. I could even smell this at or past the 12 hour mark, fresh out the box. It radiated faintly (but still very much present) off my chest when I woke up to my surprise. The only possible downside I can think of is that in the very intial spray (no more than like a few seconds) there is a sharp alcohol smell, but, considering how brief that is I dont count that. I really like this scent and can see if have a place potentially all year round (with controlled sprays) since the vanilla itself is pretty light (as in its more of a vanilla extract vanilla rather than a super dense gourmand vanilla), and brown sugar which while not in the note break down is 1000% here I feel can be pulled off at most temps except high heat. Fall, winter, spring, day or night and maybe summer cool nights.

Let me start by saying I wasn't looking for a Vanilla 28 alternative per se. I was just looking for a long-lasting vanilla that I could wear daily and layer. I knew the DNA was good for that, so I went searching. I had smelt Vanilla 28 awhile ago but I don't remember how it smelt. I recently tried Vanilla Addiction and Eshal Vanilla because I have heard great things about both. I prefer VA to Eshal. Eshal is stronger on the white florals with less vanilla and on the dry down I only get a slightly sweet/sharp note. Almost like plastic. It may need to sit for a bit. VA has more rose and vanilla and the lavender makes it a little fresh. VA is sweeter with more brown sugar which I prefer. It is a very well blended fragrance and the patchouli grounds it and makes it not too sweet. The dry down is smooth and not sharp at all. This was right out of the box. I am very happy going with Vanilla Addiction!

Wow this smells so good! I originally put off getting this but I got Marshmallow and loved it. So I wanted to try more from this brand. This smells so good and it lasts so long. The patchouli just adds some depth to the scent it's not patchouli forward and the vanilla is so good it's spicy, it's sweet, and it lasts on my skin. I don't have the og but I hear it doesn't last. This lasts and lasts I'm really impressed. I put this on yesterday and can still smell it on me. And clothes it lasts forever on. Don't spray this on light clothes as the juice is super dark. This is so inexpensive for the quality you get. I love the bottle and it feels heavy the cap is plastic but it doesn't feel cheap. All in all this is an excellent scent. I have a back up coming i like this so much and have no desire to get the OG. I highly recommend this if you want an amazing vanilla with a little something to it.

I recently gifted this to my sister for her birthday. Later on, she sprayed both this and Vanilla 21 (which I didn't know she owned) on each arm, and made me guess which was which. I was able to correctly guess which arm had Vanilla Addiction on it, by choosing the one with stronger projection haha. Otherwise, we both agree they smell identical, with performance being the differentiator. Longevity is good, we went out that morning for her birthday, and 4 hours later on our drive home, it was still projecting beyond 4 feet. I could easily pick it up on her. This is the first time I have put my nose on this DNA, and I can say it is wearable for a male as well, under certain conditions. Ultimately, I'm just happy she loved it and it seems like she'll keep buying this moving forward. ✅Excellent

This is my 6th Vanilla 28 "inspiration". I find Vanilla Addiction to be the most accurate out of all 6. It's a bit masculine but not masculine in the sense that it can't be worn by women, to my nose this is the less sweet, more bitter and more "dry" feeling than other dupes. I feel the earthiness of the patchouli prominent here. That being said I love it anyway, I am a big fan of the V28 dna but not fan of it's price and it's performance so I got 6 dupes that together don't cost as much as the Kayali one and they perform better.. Very pleased with this, if you love the DNA, you won't be disappointed with any of the dupes out there, honestly! (Tried: Elysia Vanilla, Eshal Vanilla, Ramsh Diva, Samah Onyx, Fleur Antique and this)

The notes are wrong, here are the corrects ones : Top : Vanilla, Orchid, Jasmine Middle : Brown sugar, Tonka Beans Base : Amber, Musk, Patchouli There is no Lavender, no Coconut, no Rose notes. 😊 Very very nice vanilla perfume. Last forever on clothes in a smooth way. Don't have Kayali 28, so can't telles. The more it seats, the more beautiful and powerfull it becomes. Sweet Vanilla, young demographic suitable 😊 but not only. Very good layering perfume to add vanilla in any frgrance and very beautiful by itself 🤎 Not smoky, not earthy, patchouli is very light, amber is present, very light musc,.sweet sweet vanilla Love it. Layered it with Riifaqat to sweeten it 👌🤎

In a sea of vanilla fragrances and a million and one dupes for the OG Kayali Vanilla 28, i can say in my opinion, having owned vanilla, 28 and now owning Gulf orchid vanilla. Addiction, vanilla addiction is a 1to 1 dupe for Kayali vanilla twenty eight!!!! Eshal Vanilla by paris corner is touted as the best dupe of V28, other to my nose, it's much more floral.With the rose note. Gulf Orchid and Paris Corner are some if the best dupe houses there are. Gulf Orchid wins this one of best dupe for V28!!

This is very simular to kayali vanilla 28. There is a coconut note I can sense. It makes it creamy and more summery. Almost like vanilla 28 but with a twist. I like it. It has dept, its long lasting. It smells like Brown sugar and coconut with a hint of vanilla. The original smells mostly like Brown sugar too. I cant smell any of the patchouli thank god. It is a good dupe for kayali but with some coconut creamyness. I have tried many dupes this and the elysia vanilla is my favorite of the dupes.

An exact dupe of Kayali Vanilla 28 but BEAST MODE. This will project much better and last wayyyy longer. And the scent is identical. It comes fully macerated too. My last bottle of Kayali Vanilla 28 wasn’t even macerated and the smell was so off. The atomizer on this bottle is amazing, it’s one of those atmospheric mist atomizers and it’s just so good. I’m buying this perfume from now on, and it’s a fraction of the price. Very good for layering. Just be sure not to spray on white clothing

Ughhh... ADDICTIVE. Periodt. The best dupe for Vanilla 28. I own both, and ever since I got Vanilla Addiction, I barely reach for Vanilla 28 anymore. Vanilla Addiction projects better, and the ingredients feel much more natural to my nose, whereas Vanilla 28 can sometimes come across as a bit synthetic. I honestly don't have much more to add—the reviews have already said it all! 9.5/10

Ok so me and Gulf Orchid we have love & hate relationship 😅 many perfumes I tried were miss. But this one is love; this is 100% dupe of Kayali 28 but stronger and longer lasting. To me its sugar brown rum 🥃 vanilla 🧁. But its not gourmand in literal way. I find it versatile and wearable all year.

I love this vanilla. On a paper test, it's very boozy and sweet. I get the vanilla but to me it's more ambery, and there is more rose coming out than jasmine or lavender. Kind of reminds me of Paris Corner Vanilla and Roses. Love it!

This smells identical to Eshal Vanilla, which is a very close dupe of Vanilla 28. It’s 98% accurate, but is arguably stronger, better performance. This one and Eshal get ALL of the compliments. Truly beautiful. Will purchase again.

this is soooo yummy! a more masculine take on vanillla, boozy and its not so heavy that you cant wear it out during warmer weather. i would probably not spray too much of it though

For the price this is an excellent alternative to Vanilla 28. Very very similar and I find this lasts longer. I picked mine up at TJ Maxx for $15! Can’t beat that.

It is a very nice vanilla and it is like a high quality fragrance ! Great ME purchase ! But she is not for hot summer days

I recently sampled Vanilla 28 and wasn’t too impressed. I got burnt plastic. Not worth the coin, in my opinion. Saw this at TJ Maxx and thought wth. It’s so much cheaper than the Kayali at $15 and I can return. It is strong at first and there is some of that burn plastic, but the price and longevity are so worth it. I wish there was less patchouli, but the brown sugar vibe is very nice. I think it will work wonders for layering. I tried to layer B&BW Vanilla Cafe with another vanilla and wasn’t feeling it so added this and it was perfect. Would absolutely purchase this again. Good gift for vanilla lovers too.

Im not a big vanilla fan but this intrigued me. I was worried it was going to smell like vanilla 28 which has almost a brown sugar smell that I personally dont like. I was suprised that this has more of a vanilla essence/spearmint smell to it in a smooth way. Its really nice. I was looking for a unique take on vanilla not a gourmond way. It does have some vanilla sweetness but the lavender and patchouli i think are grounding this very nicely, I think thats why im getting that minty smell/refreshing. I like this, I feel like this would smell amazing on a cold night

I love this floral vanilla. Seems more fitting for Night time, winter or fall. Not very long lasting as of yet but that might change over time. Found it on sale at tjmax. $12 for the smaller bottle.

Great smell. Smells better after maceration.

This fragrance has good performance — strong projection and longevity — so if you enjoy the scent profile, the quality-to-price ratio is genuinely good. There’s a noticeable resemblance to Kayali Vanilla, but this version feels much simpler and far more gourmand. It leans heavily into a sweet bakery-like vibe, to the point where people constantly comment on it and ask who smells like cake or pastries. Personally, I do not like these comments, as I prefer something more elegant. That said, while it’s very attention-grabbing and pleasant, it lacks something intriguing or distinctive. The scent is enjoyable and comforting, but it doesn’t really evolve or leave a more sophisticated impression.

So, I dislike this and finally bought the OG... they are both very similar, they are both terrible.

I've never smelled vannila 28 so i can't really make a comparaison but this perfume shou've been called amber addiction beacause i could not smell vanilla to save my life basically this perfume is a heavily amber perfume but a sweetened version when i bought i was soo excited thinking this is going to be my VANILLA perfume but no it smells straight up like sweetened amber even my mom and my sister smelled it and none of them can pick up on the vanilla note at all it's actually annoying. the perfume itself is not bad but i feel like i got scammed because this was not what the name nor the reviews described it to be

A sweetly gourmand take on amber, nicely balanced between vanilla (vanillin) and tonka (coumarin). That patchouli note is mercifully subtle, adding only some brightness in the background. If Gulf Orchid had wanted to interpret (market) this as more explicitly gourmand (with sugar or marshmallow notes) they could have easily done so. Certainly a pleasant vanilla scent to wear alone, but even moreso are its worthy layering possibilities. Perhaps use this to add more vanilla to an amber or spiced -oriental fragrance. More specifically, I can imagine using this to lightening other overly dark vanillas, if they seem to much . For example, if something like Babycat or Rifaaqat starts smelling too dour or heavy, try layering it (at 1:1, adjacent) with this. - Conversely, if something like Eclaire begins to seem too flat, try layering (or replacing) with this. Finding one's favourite vanilla scents can often be a lengthy pursuit, ...if not eternally circular. This Vanilla Addiction is not sheer perfection, but I do appreciate its balance and moderation.

i adooooooore this fragrance!!!! vanilla addiction has became my pheromone perfume just because it’s so darn delicious. i came across this when searching for kayali 28 dupes and i’m so glad that i did. it’s such a head turner and i’m always showered in compliments! others have told me i smell yummy – like marshmallows, dessert, and of course, vanilla. i’m quite a heavy sprayer so this stuff lasts me a loooong time! i could even still smell it on my clothes after a long day. the dry down is just so pleasing. my bottle ran out, but trust, this one will be in rotation. if you love sweet vanilla gourmands, i def recommend!

Insane performer, lasts easily eight hours on skin and longer on clothes. It's an extremely ambery/smoky vanilla with maybe a hint of the herbaceous lavender. It's a beast of a perfume and it's very easy to overspray. Dry down is flattering and gentle vanilla, but it's not a sugary sweet perfume by any means. Definitely a wintery, cozy vanilla for nights in bed reading with a whiskey coke.

I bought a 1 oz of this from TJ Maxx for $15 USD. I like it! It is not an EXACT dupe of Vanilla 28, but it is close. It is noticeably more patchouli forward (maybe because it needs to mature more?). Overall I would consider this to be 85-90% similar to the Kayali frag. No weird plastic or chemical notes which I appreciate. I am not picking up on any coconut at all.

Uhm HELLO, VANILLA 28 WHO???? Gulf Orchid’s Vanilla addiction is a happy blind buy. I’ve been trying to find a 1:1 for vanilla 28 and this one smells pretty spot on I would even think it has more of a vanilla smell than the perfume it’s trying to dupe. Okay if you see this anywhere in the wild GRAB IT I found mine at Ross and so glad to get a big ole 100ML bottle

Jost got it in the mail. Smells rich, boozy and sugary sweet with a touch of suede like note to it. the floral notes here in combination with vanilla and patchouli come out like a pear blossom to me, not rose, jasmine or lavender. Really nice. think it's more on the grown up side. Beautiful fragrance.

Bought this because i did not want to buy another Kayali 28, and this did not disappoint. Has a bit of an alcohol-y smell to it at first that somehow always makes me sneeze on application, but dries down beautifully. One of my favorite vanilla perfumes because it smells identical to Kayali. Beautiful

A very decent vanilla option. This wasn't that oily plain grapey rubbish that some arab scents are.. Yes it had a vein of 'sniffing vanilla essence' but, it lasted well, was more nuanced, and, im glad it wasn't.. plain oily and grapey in the background lol

From what i remember - smelling once vanilla 28 it was darker, like more oudy version than this. This is "Bourbon vanilla" liquid that you add to a cake, not the basic 2$ one, but the 3$ better one. For 8$ 30ml its not bad

This smells like a classic run of the mill vanilla nothing special , it’s definitely mature and more muted , one dimensional so if you want to smell just like basic vanilla get it .

Nice vanilla perfume, but it disappears within minutes
