Marra

Middle aged Georgia cowboy here: Just got in my fragrance sampler (10 samples in just 3 days across the country - impressive) and Marra is the third one I'm trying. Really limey out of the decant then dries to a more even citrus and woodsy scent with a hint of sweet tea. Not impressed with the longevity. If I were to buy it I'd save this one for spring/summer. For me 6/10. Of those in the sample I've tried so far from fave to least: Palmer (9/10) Marra (6/10) Tyler (6/10)

I get mostly orange citrus on top with some mossy woody notes underneath. There's nothing wrong with this fragrance, but much like a lot of Guy Fox's lineup, it's nothing to write home about either. It's perfectly pleasant and hard to beat for the price, but there's nothing that stands out about it. Edit: the dry down of this is more complex and I like it a lot - it's woody and aromatic, and more interesting than the opening hit.

Really nice summer fragrance. Very comparable to D&G Light Blue Intense. Smells fresh - citrus and juniper. Good longevity and affordable. People really need to get to know this house.

Really enjoying this. One of the most easy to wear scents I’ve sampled in a long while

Marra opens with a strong blast of citrus, specifically grapefruit. Although grapefruit scent can bring to mind sweaty BO, Marra quickly (5 minutes or so) evolves into a more generic citrus scent with the appearance of the bergamot and orange. The citrus here is very realistic without a hint of a synthetic vibe. Where Marra fails is performance. Projection is quite intimate and longevity is only about 4 hours on skin. Quite disappointing. If you're looking for something along these lines, definitely look at Terre d'Hermès Eau de Toilette or Terre d'Hermès Eau Givrée. They are much better overall. UPDATE (1/18/2025): I've completed testing all of the Guy Fox fragrances available in their two sample sets. One set is for the "Founder's Reserve" Collection while the other contains all their standard releases. Here's my ranking of all of them, with a few notes: First group, ranked in order of my preference. These are the top Guy Fox fumes in my book - full bottle worthy, with Nightcap being the best: 1. Nightcap 2. Fairway 3. Vince 4. Nelson Second group, no rank or order, just grouped together. Nice scents. I like them, but not enough to buy a FB: Aspen Primo Mikul Jefe Preston Third group, no rank or order, just grouped together. OK, somewhat generic. Mediocre performance for some: Palmer Tyler Marra JP Fourth group. Just plain awful. Was almost a scrubber for me: Riviera
