Middle aged Georgia cowboy here: Just got in my fragrance sampler (10 samples in just 3 days across the country - impressive) and Nelson is the 10th one I'm trying. Impressed with this one. Similar to Palmer below but a bit more of an Iced tea vibe in the middle For me 7.5/10. Of those in the sample I've tried so far from fave to least: Nelson (9/10) (piney/woodsy/sweet ice tea vibe) Palmer (9/10) (piney/woodsy) Primo (8/10) (smoky/leathery) different from the others so far, very manly Jefe (8/10) (orangey then oceanic with clean hot linen) different from the others so far, very beachy JP (7.5/10) (limey/woodsy/classy) Preston (7.5/10) (citrussy/tropical flowery/aquatic) Vince (7/10) (limey/woodsy) Marra (6/10) (limey/woodsy) Tyler (6/10) (citrussy/coconutty/woodsy) Mikul (5/10) basically Jefe without the citrus in the open but weak.

Great for fall into winter. Lasts long on fabric. Took a hoody off after spraying my neck in my car and a week later found it. Smelled string still Very pine scented wth citrus. Found guy fox in a random surf shop ij florida and this one stopped me in my tracks trying the selection out. It is exactly what ive been looking for out if a cologne. A more citrus/pine masculine cologne with long lasting power. Hilariously enough my girlfriend hates it. But this is for me

Out of the 10 Guy Fox fragrance samples i tested... Nelson is my #2. It kinda gave me pine forrest vibes, but in a sexy, classy way. Super fresh, very dry woody, clean guy scent. No sweetness here. The only other Guy Fox fragrance i loved more (not including Nightcap and Riviera) is JP. Highly recommend Nelson for sure.

It feels very juvenile, but super easy to wear, smell good, fresh, its an elegant green citrus for a daily use. I feel old for this fragance tho, it reminds me the 90’.

Nelson sorta surprised me. The initial opening gave me a hint of apple - not what I was expecting. It started to smooth out as the lavender and base woody notes appeared. While I was able to pick out some of the individual notes, the overall impact is of a really nice, smooth, creamy and fresh scent. Cedar was probably the prominent woody note, but it was still well blended with the rest as to not be too strong, or smelling like hamster bedding or cedar mulch. Yet, the patch and sandalwood weren't very strong either. The eucalyptus in the opening wasn't strong - no vapor rub scent. I guess everything was just nicely blended resulting in a pleasant, masculine and versatile scent that's also fresh but not sour. There were shades of the far dry down of Palmer here but Nelson is the superior scent. Longevity was good coming down to a still noticeable skin scent by the 10th hour while projection is more moderate - something that would make it very good for office and close quarters use. UPDATE (1/18/2025): I've completed testing all of the Guy Fox fragrances available in their two sample sets. One set is for the "Founder's Reserve" Collection while the other contains all their standard releases. Here's my ranking of all of them, with a few notes: First group, ranked in order of my preference. These are the top Guy Fox fumes in my book - full bottle worthy, with Nightcap being the best: 1. Nightcap 2. Fairway 3. Vince 4. Nelson Second group, no rank or order, just grouped together. Nice scents. I like them, but not enough to buy a FB: Aspen Primo Mikul Jefe Preston Third group, no rank or order, just grouped together. OK, somewhat generic. Mediocre performance for some: Palmer Tyler Marra JP Fourth group. Just plain awful. Was almost a scrubber for me: Riviera

Sampling Guy Fox Nelson, a very fresh blend featuring an interesting but not overbearing eucalyptus note and a lovely woody blend of sandalwood and cedar, borderline green and coniferous, though. It definitely has some citruses and spices, also, but is really pleasant throughout, with additional notes of lavender, citron leaf, juniper, and clary sage. Overall, it’s really nice, one of my two favorites of the line so far with JP, and is a versatile, everyday option that’s still sophisticated and seems a bit special. Nelson, like the rest of the line, is EDP concentration and priced at $68 for 50ml, sold via both the house website and boutiques like Ministry of Scent, from which I bought a sample pack. It performs decent well, so the value is quite good. 7 out of 10

Love this scent - as others have said, not sweet at all - very dry and green. I got a hit of lime at first that dries down to a more juniper/piney base. I can also get a little bit of the lavender mixed in with the woody base notes. Very close to the skin, doesn't fill a room by any means. I would consider buying this one if it projected better I think, but overall a very pleasant scent

Very fresh and easy wear! Lasts long too! Not sure who compared it to aVentus but that’s totally incorrect. Great everyday fragrance, masculine, sporty and fresh!

I find this very dry, clean, almost a scent of the desert. There is no sweetness here. On me it is also extremely close to the skin. It might be a good work scent if you want an under the radar level of scent. Also worth noting that I hardly smell the top notes at all. It’s like it went straight to the middle stage. I probably wouldn’t buy after my sample is gone—too faint for me.

Got two sample packs from Guy Fox for my bday. 9 scents in total. All pretty good - lots of clean soapy scents - but Nelson was an immediate favorite. Ordered a bottle and it’s now in heavy rotation. The way I’ve been kinda describing it is like a bizarro cousin of Aventus. In the opening instead of pineapple you’ve got a greener more dank fruit you can’t quite place (I’m guessing the eucalyptus + citron) and in the dry down instead of a smoky birch you’ve got a gorgeous dry cedar. ALMOST incense-y. Idk it’s really lovely, great performance and sillage, nice price. Have gotten some compliments from friends and strangers. If you hate Aventus don’t let my dumb analogy stop you from sampling - it’s not a dupe or impression by any means, it’s just its ratios of ‘fruit opening : woody base’ seem similar in proportion if that makes sense.
