Fidji Eau de Parfum

I got this in a little game my fragrance friends play "blind blotter" where you have to guess as much as you can about the fragrance. Turns out I loved this fragrance so much I had to send it back to the lady to figure out what it was. My bottle has arrived in the mail today I was so excited I sprayed on my hand and did a side by side or the blind blotter and it didn't match, anyway reason Im saying is you need to spray the first few sprays out of the tube to reveal the real scent, Im glad I persevered as the stuff in the tube was so unbelievably powdery pissy 🙈 Anyway getting to the fragrance wow its just so nice absolute bargain for 20 quid. I would happily pay much more for it, very nostalgic but very clean smelling woody with a green undertone I just love it, best bargain of the year 🥰

The eau de parfum arrived today. My first impression is of a classic, feminine, chypre floral fragrance with medium longevity and projection. I like. Reminds me of Nina Ricci and Dior style. I don't detect any sweetness. I will enjoy it and look forward to trying it again when the weather cools down.

This is a very nostalgic scent for me. My mam used to have the old vintage in a miniature from a collection box and I used to have a little dab of it now and then. I recently purchased a new bottle from a discount store for £26 and it smells exactly as I remember. It's very clean smelling and feminine. I'm not a great lover of overly floral fragrances but somehow this works. It's like a nice bath in a luxury spa with petals in the water. This guy is very strong and longlasting and can't wait to wear it in the spring. I dont think 3* c temperature is going to do this any favors atm. If you like to smell different from the crowd this is well worth a go. I guarantee somebody will notice you as you waft past. 👍👍

A gorgeous spring, summer tropical getaway inspired perfume. To my mind, there is a similar vibe as Hibiscus Palm.

Perfect light but elevated spring/summer perfume. Smells like a wealthy art student.

It seems I do not have any memories or nostalgia related to this perfume, so just would agree that it is old-school and probably interesting for history. But would also agree that comparing to modern stuff it smells horribly.

Exactly, Elinor! Fidji is one of those rare fragrances that must always be bought in the form of eau de TOILETTE, not eau the parfum! I hope it is still time to inform the shop what happened - so you could send back and receive an edT. EdT is a GREEN fragrance (also woody, earthy, floral...) and lasts for a good amount of time (at least on me), while the edP is warm-spicy and - to me - scents nothing like Fidji. (Because Fidji to me means a heavenly mixture of hyacinth, carnation, galbanum, tuberose, ylang, violet...) EdT is made of Hiacynth, Galbanum, Iris, Bergamot, Tuberose and Lemon; Aldehydes, Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, Cloves, Orris Root, Violet, Spicy Notes (Carnation - respectively eugenol) and Rose; Oakmoss, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Musk, Resins, Amber and Patchouli - with very prominent hyacinth! ... while edP has Violet Leaf, Cardamom; Carnation, Jasmine, Spices, Iris, Ylang-Ylang and Bulgarian Rose; Musk, Sandalwood and Patchouli - with no hyacinth at all! Hope you'd be able to fix this mistake; and if not this time, it can serve you for the next time you buy it. <3

Many thanks to Renee. Exactly what I wanted to know. Too late to change as sadly, I've already sprayed the EDP and it covered me in disappointment! Not the lovely green smell I recall but a blast of aldehydes and bitter carnation, like a watered down L'Air du Temps, a scent I'm partially anosmic to and which also misbehaves on my skin. I'll put this one down to experience and chuck the EDP to the back of my 'Good Grief, NO!' drawer in the hope that it may change over time. I'll be getting the EDT. Got it. It's waaaay better on my skin. So much more going on.

I recently bought this for my mum. It’s not something I’d wear but it suits her. It’s old school elegance. It is very soapy but the Jasmine is strong too and gives it a tropical vibe. It is absolutely perfect in hot weather. It has the best projection and longevity of any scent I can think of. This is also a nostalgic scent for my mum, who used to wear it when she was a young woman working in London. She felt at the time it was the height of chic and I wanted to transport her back to that. She was very happy with it!

Eek! I've just ordered a bottle of this EDP due to one one of those uncontrollable yearnings for a blast from the past. I've just checked the notes on here and find they're completely different to the EDT. I think I should have got the EDT because I don't recall my old bottle of Fidji smelling of cardamom instead of galbanium. Oh dear. Anyone else done this? Is it the same? Will report back when receive it.

I blind bought this and loved it. It smells expensive, like a wealthy rich woman who’s well put together. It’s floral, spicy and last for 7+ hours on me. For the price you can’t go wrong. It’s great for day time, evenings, and can even layer with others e.g citrus scents to freshen it up during the day if needed. IG/Tiktok: @wilddew_vibes

EDP! Nobody knows the new edp? Different composition. No hiacinth, no galbanum? No lemon? I think I would like it, lemon sometimes wins over others for me. Will it last longer? The edp version first appeared in my country, I have so many questions. I can't right now, but I'll have to buy as soon as possible.

All my life, my grandma wore this perfume. It’s quite sophisticated and elegant to my nose, but perhaps this is because of the woman who wore it. It’s both a delicate yet ardent floral, and you can probably get away with using it all year round. I love this one immensely and I miss my grandma tremendously.
