Halloween Freesia

The name "Halloween" doesn't really suit this line at all, IMO. You'd expect something sultry and dark, and every fragrance I've sampled in this line is light and airy. Well, anyway... Upon first sniff, I absolutely adore Halloween Freesia. The opening is a full-blown freesia who rings your doorbell and immediately invites herself in without asking... which I LOVE. But it's not overpowering, it's light and summery. I don't have a lot of other frags that are so freesia-forward, and it's one of my favorite notes ever since I was just a wee bebe in the dark ages, sniffing the tester of Freesia in Bath and Body Works. This freesia is more sophisticated than that one, and lacks the sharp synthetic edge. It is unabashedly girly and sweetly floral. It boasts the addition of pear, and when that note comes through, this really could be the flightier little sister of a Jo Malone concoction. It's not cloying, and I really like it. I'm not going to pretend this perfume morphs a lot or has many undiscovered layers... and for the price, I didn't expect it to. *edited to add* - months after reviewing this fragrance I find myself reaching for this one a lot. It's an excellent floral summer fragrance for when you want something easy that just smells *good.* It has that quality of making people wonder whether it's your hair/shampoo - even though it's not a clean/soapy fragrance - and I like that clean floral association for summer especially when you're in a situation where you don't want to overpower (like a work or classroom situation, or a mixed group of people). I just like it a lot, and I know it smells good on me. Firmly in the "no-brainer" category of fragrances.

It is predominantly a freesia scent, which I love, but also very similar to the classic Halloween. Floral, romantic, feminine. As if just the floral aspect is freesia dominated here, the rest is like your Halloween. It is a bit mysterious, a bit moody, like the classic. At the same time bright, crisp and clean. Woody at the base, exciting at heart and floral-fresh on top. Absolutely lovely and I would say, if you love the classic, which every female should know, you will like this. It is also similar to Halloween Water Lily and Sun and Fatal Rose. They are all similar to the classic with particular note as the front centre. So, freesia is the cetral figure, lotus, pear and peach surround it, cardamon, sandalwood and musk finish it off. But the scent is more than its parts. It is lovely for summer. Especially summer evening that gets special thanks to it. But it is great for a day too. And in general it is universal if you like this scent profile. Scent profile reminds me a bit of Armani Acqua di Gioia Intense. At 7 hours mark, I feel it very faintly.

Halloween freesia is a gorgeous scent! It smells quite similar to the original halloween but more fruity and not peppery. The opening is a very fresh natural pear that is accompanied with freesia and lily of the valley. I get a bit of that lotus as well..funny I don't get much if the peach on myself but I def still smell the pear. As the hours pass the fresh flowers blend with the muskysandalwood base that I love. It stays fresh for hrs. I agree with it being a great summer scent and a great pick me up on a cold rainy day as today. I find all hwn scent last almost the whole day on my skin .. People can pick up the light scent with the breeze and it brings compliments! I find it works for day and night.

I love the original Halloween (a love that has lasted 15 years so far) and own all (or most) of its flankers, and this one is the best of them. It's similar to the original but the freshness of freesia is a nice addition.

At the first sniff just from the bottle it yelled to me - FREESIAS! Luckily I adore the smell of this flower, I know there are people who cannot tolerate it or cannot really appreciate this delicate scent. However, I thought I might give this one a try. It easily opens its heart to you once sprayed, sweet and fresh pear with cardamom elegantly move away for the entrance of freesias, peach and slightly powdery lily of the valley. I need to say I could not detect blackcurrants here. To tell the truth the base is very weak, so after the scent has opened and settled fully, you are left with a whisk of airy musky warmth, nothing heavy here. All in all a very good summer use. Daytime wear!
