EDT Review We are all used to apreciate or value more an EDP than an EDT. Hanae Mori proposes us an EDT and an EDP that are very similar in both scent and performance. Strangely enough, both bottles and prices are also quite similar. The EDT version is a tiny bit more subtle than the EDP version. The fragrance is quite versatile and it suits women as well. I would judge this fragrance to be more unisex than masculine. It does fit well in mid season - Autumn or Spring, day or night. It has got a wide weather latitude and it's quite safe to use it in Summer nights and Winter days. I already asked a handfull of people for identic vibes or look alike fragrances. No one gave me any positive answer. There is an Iris middle note that blended with the top lemon and lavender, plus the bottom notes of dark chocolate, amber and cedar, creates some (faint) ressemblance with the current version of Dior Homme, although I don't consider it a dominant vibe. As no one around me shares the my opinion I'll wait for some fellow reviewer to share the same opinion I have. The fragrance opens with a creamy sweet accord of lemon and black currant with a touch of lavender. The lavender does persist for the second phase where you notice some flowerish scents - mainly iris - in a semi sweet background (is it the awakening of an early vanilla note?). The bottom notes are very rich and responsible for the sweet aura around this scent. Vanilla, tonka and chocolate take over and do play the major role during the drydown, supported by sandal, amber and cedar fainter notes. It does have a nice longevity (8+ hours with 3 sprays), but an average sillage (3~4 feet) and average projection that lasts between 2 and 3 hours. You won't get neither darkness, nor animalic vibes. You'll get a sweet zen lull for long hours that will make you feel good and secure. Like I said before, it's almost an unisex fragrance and a very sexy fragrance indeed! Let's see the math of HM for men: - Scent opening: 8.5 (very very good - my judgement) - Scent drydown: 9.0 (very very good - my judgement) - Longevity: 8.0 (8 hours+ with 3 sprays) - Sillage: 7.0 (about 3 feet for 3 hours with 3 sprays; projects for 2~3 hours); practical skin scent till the 8th or 9th hour. - Uniqueness: 9.0 (unique, very well blended giving me some vibes of other fragrances like Dior Homme, but similar to none; Hanae Mori EDP is out of this equation) - Versatility: 9.0 (almost everywhere, but with better choices for clubbing and formal events. Don't use it while working out or in the beach) - Wearability: 9.5 (high during Spring and Autumn,... quite adequate during Winter or Summer as well, but avoid extreme heat or cold). - Compliments: 8.5 (It's a universal pleaser, without being a compliment magnet) - Quality: 9.5 (my judgement - does not suggest even a small vibe of being cheap or synthetic. It does smell expensive; with a little better performance it would deserve a 10.0) - Presentation: 8.5 (discrete but very nice. Excellent cap and sprayer.) - Price: 10.0 (100 ml tester for 21 Euros + VAT) Average: 8.77 / 10.00 It is one of my favourite fragrances. Will I buy it again? Yes for sure. Will I recommend it? Of course I will, mainly due to its alluring scent, quality and price.

The crescent moon hangs low in the stillness of the night, almost close enough to kiss the earth. A symphony of crickets fill the warm night air with life. You sit in your shrine facing a lone candle praying for answers in an uncertain world. The shadows dance throughout the room like demons taunting your sincerity. The pale moon's glow trickles in through the passing clouds - you can almost taste its lemony luminescence. A cooling wind disrupts your tense tranquility - a rush of powdered roses and ancient iris invade your steady breaths. The rustle of greenery behind you nearly disguises the gentle footsteps quietly approaching. You feel a warm hand wrap around you neck and chest - it pulls you tightly against her bosom. You taste her pale, creamy skin as it brushes across your lips, an aged vanilla and amber dances on your tongue. She leans closely, "You've prayed enough for one night...any more and they will willfully neglect you." Her voice is as warm as her skin and hides a faint smile. Her hair falls across your face for a moment, traces of chocolate and sandalwood interlace with floral breeze and the musk of your meditative skin. You can't help but smile...she wins this battle every night. You know she will always win...and you wouldn't have it any other way. Day 92 - Alone Listening to: Moby - Porcelain Notes: Again, this was something in my collection that I had written off as too off putting to really enjoy on a regular basis. Something about all the favorable reviews and likening it to lemon tart or cream - those reviews might hold true for some, but it really misses the point in a big way. This is a Japanese perfume house and while they may have strayed toward more mainstream offering as of late, this release still holds some of the obscurity of Japanese beauty found through simplicity (quite unlike Hollywood's obsession with platinum blondes, botox, and fake breasts - tatsteless and loud). The scent indeed starts with a noticeable lemon and something that is vaguely creamy and powdery. It has taken me years to be able to tease out the influence of the grassy notes and currant mingling with a powdered rose and iris - it is surprisingly beautiful and equally tranquil. The scent lingers in this sweet, lush citric and floral stage for quite some time before picking up notes of a soft wood and dusty cacao with a soothing patchouli and ambery musk. Time wears the amber and florals thin and leaves an oakmoss and patchouli musk that sings green and powdery - the whole scene unfolds over a constant 8 hours and wears a little more beautifully in warm weather. I can honestly say that I love this simple and beautiful creation and I think it should be worn by anyone who finds these notes interesting.

WOW! I finally picked up Hanae Mori 'HM' Eau de Toilette after having it on my wish list for at least a decade. I didn't know what to expect, but I knew it was supposedly a great performing, unique scent. I got all of this and more, plus a pleasant surprise towards the dry down which I'll explain below. The initial blast is fresh citrus, lemon notes, soft woods and heavy tonka bean and vanilla, which I've never smelled anything like before. The unlikely combination of lemon and tonka bean in the opening is both weird and gorgeous at the same time. Nothing else smells like this in my 200+ bottle collection. It's amazing. As it settles down, so many notes come through. Chocolate, rose, jasmine, berries, and subtle amber in the low end come together like nothing you've ever smelled. To be honest, this could be unisex, as it comes across as a citrus, floral fragrance with a sweet vanilla and amber base that smells gorgeous on either a man or a woman. In some parts, which was surprising to me, its smells like Calvin Klein's 'Eternity For Women' perfume, but with a heavy tonka bean and amber base for a masculine edge. And for some reason, it smells wonderful. Many hours later, it becomes a sweet vanilla and floral skin scent that sticks in and becomes you. Like an expensive hotel soap or shampoo, this smells very classy and sophisticated and will have people asking you what it is because it is so unique. If you like Issey Miyake 'Leau d'Issey' or Calvin Klein 'CK One', this can be described as somewhat similar to those on the top end, but with added base notes of amber, tonka bean and jasmine. With eight sprays (neck, shoulders, chest and forearms), I get a very impressive 7-10+ hours of longevity, with excellent projection and heavy sillage for at least five or six hours. This is actually very strong, is easily detected at arms length and can fill a room. It holds onto skin, digs in and becomes your skin scent. It stays on clothes and fabrics for several days and can extend your longevity and projection to 12-15+ hours if applied over clothes. Performance is fantastic on this. If you are a mature gentlemen with style who dresses preppy or fashionable, this is an absolute must. It can work on a man or a woman, smells gorgeous and lasts a very long time. It is NOT a safe blind buy, so you may want to order a sample first unless you are an experienced collector and know what these notes smell like. I absolutely love this scent, and ordered some backup bottles as well as the EDP version. Highly recommended.

EDP review: To give a little background to my subjectivity, I generally do not prefer super sweet/floral fragrances. A*Men is the sweetest thing I own and I enjoy it, but mostly because of the complexity/woodiness that lurks behind all the sugar. That being said, I rolled the dice and decided to BB this based on the positive reviews and affordability. I also am willing to expand my olfactory horizons- if its good, its good, right? My first impression was that this is quite feminine, almost an overtly woman's perfume. I suppose that is because of the heavy floral notes and sweetness, but whoa, I was not prepared for that initial blast. I get a strong surface lemon scent, especially on the clothes, but there is a lot of floral action going on in the mid range, which hits pretty quickly. I get absolutely no chocolate or vanilla in the first hour, just sweet floral notes that keep radiating. Longevity is very good. I applied this at night, and after a few hours I could detect a hint of spiciness and powdery vanilla underneath the flowers. I was generally pleased with it and went to bed. When I woke up in the morning, it was easily noticeable, only the lemon and florals had faded to the background and I FINALLY could smell the chocolate. To me, this is the best stage, the deep drydown- not one or two hours, but maybe four or five after applying. HM changes from a bright lemony sweet floral to a breezy vanilla chocolate gourmand. Bear in mind, this is not cloying, heavy or gourmand in the usual sense. All very polite and lovely, like a Japanese dessert- Castella rather than cheesecake. Overall, this is a very unique men's perfume. I have never smelled anything quite like it. HM is a chimera, flitting between masculine and feminine, but firmly neither. It is much more interesting than other quasi-feminine scents, as it reveals its notes one at a time through it's lifetime. Its an impressionist, Debussy and Monet, giving us glimpses and shades rather than a complete picture. This is one of the more fascinating scents I've tried and will enjoy wearing it on occasion. Update 12/17- cold weather masterpiece! The gourmand in this comes alive and HM becomes quite warm and captivating. Try this on cold days- so amazing.

Hanae Mori, aka "yeah, that seems like a good note, throw it in there." Before I blow an Asian Studies Major panic attack, I would like to say that the way you pronounce Hanae Mori is ha-na-eh moh-ree. I keep hearing people try to pronounce it in different ways, every time I hear someone say ha-nay, a little piece of me dies. Well, it's been 8 hours and it still feels like I just put it on. This stuff is a floral, a fruity, and a gourmand all at the same time. I keep hearing people describe it as one of the 3, but really it's just... all 3, depending on what stage you smell it at. I'm at a point in my day where it stops being so sharp (and it is sharp at first) and I'm like, "oh, so THAT'S why people say it's gourmand-y. Listen, I'm gonna cut to the chase, this is what a hot samurai guy wears. This is like... it's late at night in feudal Japan on a comfortable summer night and all you can see are faint lights through the rice paper doors in your room in a light nightgown and you're waiting for your hot samurai husband and his tired, achy muscles to come out of the bath... And while you're just about dozing off he comes in in one of those light, airy sleeping kimonos and it isn't tied very tight so it's slipping off his shoulder a bit. And he gets under the covers behind you and that slight gust of air from lifting up the blanket just wafts this smell toward you, and he puts his strong hand on your shoulder... Ok, cool. Most embarrassing thing I've ever written on this website. Now all of you know what I think about when I wear this to bed. 10/10, if I inhale this too deeply it might make me cry.

Bitter cold winter gusts. Bundled up in your warmest coat, sweater, hat, scarf. You've worn yourself out running around in this weather, this just-on-the-brink-of-snow weather. You curl up on the ground and let the frosted, crushed, dead grass and flowers cushion you. You remember that mom's given you a grape-flavored lollipop, whose wrapper you fumble with before finally getting a taste of the candy with its stick grasped tightly in your mittened fist. My first test of this was a few years ago, on my wrist (!), from a sample vial in a friend's car (!!!), and it smelled absolutely awful. I said, "Awesome, there's one I don't have to pine over anymore." But something brought me back to it this past summer. Something told me that all of its "hype" had to be worth a damn. So I went for the EDP after reading all the praises of its smoothness. HM EDP didn't feel like a winter fragrance when I acquired it, nor does it feel like a summer fragrance as I'm wearing it this winter. It seems to adapt to the weather, rather than fighting against it. When my girlfriend first smelled it on me, she said it reminded her of "a summer version of Le Male." I reluctantly agree, I suppose with them both smelling "purple" and they both use lavender, vanilla, and woods. Inexperienced nose, etc. I will say, however, that it's a bit cloying for the first few hours in the winter. There's a wild/dirty/dusty vibe that comes forward in a way that doesn't present itself in the summer. But I'm going on hour 6 now, and it's so smooth and cozy. Wrapped up in layers, slurping happily on a grape-flavored lollipop.

Got Hanae Mori HM (EDT) blind, as i couldn't find samples around, so was not sure what to expect. I generally like sweet fragrances, vanilla, not so fan of heavy on citrus fresh ones. The price point made me buy it, i payed around $25 for 50ml, so that's a great price. Right out of the box, i was very impressed with the bottle and packaging. I just love those simple bottle designs. The sprayer is good, the cap sits tight, it's great. I would say that first olfactory impression was not the best. I got too much of a floral during dry-down, then to get a light lemon and a lot of vanilla when dried. I liked the base notes, but was not impressed by the opening and mid notes. But, after few uses, it started to grow on me. Now, i just love the opening. Can't really say what made me change my first impression. I feel the lemon much nicely. It's not a blast of citruses, it's a light but powerful lemon. The vanilla an lemon dry-out it's just spectacular. Floral notes, started to like those too. It's an complex fragrance. You have all kind of notes, but they are not overpowering. They complement each other. It can be kinda nauseating, so you need to go easy with the trigger, especially near the nose. I prefer to apply one spray on my chest, one on each hand and i'm good to go. I get to wear this casual. I find it appropriate for spring. I think i'm not gonna use it too much in summer, but i'll get back to it in autumn and winter.

Now this is something special. I can't believe HM managed to pull this scent transition off. Going from a candy citrus to a gourmand chocolate?! Seriously impressive. If that wasn't enough to wow you, the longevity will. This fragrance lasts 12+ hours easily. I smelled this an entire 24 hours later on my clothes, still going strong. Just insane performance. Some might be offput by the sweet flowery lemon opening, which lasts a while. I personally love it. It's really yummy, and it's perfect for both warm and cold weather. Might be a little too much if it gets crazy hot though. But what really shines is that sexy drydown, vanilla chocolate tonka bean heaven. This is easily one of the most interesting scents I own just because of that completely unexpected, masterfully smooth transition from a sweet citrus to a gourmand vanilla chocolate. I really can't get over that. This is such a tasty fragrance. Absolutely unique. Women eat this stuff up and it's a compliment magnet. You can't afford not to have this in your arsenal. 12+ hours longevity, extremely unique scent, gourmand goodness. HM is permanently in my respected houses list. A shame she only gave us 2 mens' fragrances so far. Make sure you get the EDP. It's a lot sexier and smoother, and it's got better performance (as if you need better performance with this beast...) EDP review - Fantastice fragrance. Opens with a creamy sweet lemon stong vibe (lemon, black currant, lavender). This came out how long ago?! I call BS! You could have told me this was released yesterday and I wouldn't have thought twice about it. I don't know what it is about this scent, but it just smells like pure joy. Sweet, creamy, fresh citrus with a vanilla finish. This is the definition of an all occasion scent. I personally prefer the EDP version. The EDT is a bit more airy and lavender heavy while the EDP is smoother, thicker, richer, and creamier. They're very similar, however. Phenomenal fresh scent with UNMATCHED DEPTH! Phenomenal longevity and projection as well. (Regardless of which version you choose.) This is a love in every category for me. Edit: Now I'm more preferring the EDT version of this scent for some reason. I have both, and I've worn the EDP the most, but now I'm finding that while the EDP is heavier on the most prominent notes (lemon, iris and vanilla), it can also venture a bit into the "clashing" territory, whereas the EDT's most prominent notes are more balanced with the others, and avoids that "clashing notes" potential. Either way, you can't lose with either one. The EDT is more airy and the EDP is creamier and heavier. Choose according to the season you'll most likely wear this fragrance in, and you'll be fine, even if you get it wrong. Owning both is overkill for most.

Clearly this one doesn't work well for me in the winter, but now that it's finally springtime, I'm remembering why I fell in love with Hanae Mori in the first place. Below you'll find my review from winter, when I claimed that this fragrance is a completely different creature between seasons, adaptive to its climate. The blackcurrant, florals, and green notes punch out with a vengeance in the cold weather. I've since learned that my nose doesn't care for multi-florals and the ever-generically-cited "green notes" when it's cold. In winter, HM feels solitary, distant, reserved, but in spring it feels comfortably in love. In spring, it's a spontaneous date with your significant other. You've decided to get ice cream and walk around the park. She got vanilla, scooped generously into a waffle cone, topped with blackberries and drizzled with chocolate syrup. You got some sort of lavender gelato, because that's just who you are as a person. The sun is shining magnificently, and on the breeze you can smell the flowers that have finally bloomed after a bitter, endless winter. Her ice cream has started to melt and you notice she's smudged some chocolate syrup on her nose. The sparkle in her eye when she laughs as you lick it away is all it takes to remember why you took a chance on her years ago.

HM, I wanna sex you up! I love this one, it's just so smooth and sexy. I had a hard time in the beginning, not knowing if it leaned too feminine for my personal taste; however, I eventually got over that due to it's being so nice, and belissima. In fact it eventually poked its head out with a bit more masculinity than I had noticed when it was new to me, possibly due to some of the woody notes I think. It's description of oriental woody is spot on (in my humble opinion) and it inspired me to explore more in that category, but it's hard to find one this awesome and unique that is also so wearable. It is best in cooler weather, just a warm cosy fragrance. Also, it's a strong fragrance even in the EDT (I have the EDT which performs like an EDP).. strong in performance and projection, and not so much work friendly in most cases, so in general I'd wear it seasonally. I'd categorize this as a beast, technically speaking, but a warm friendly tame beast. Only a couple sprays will last a long time, again even with the EDT. Despite its limited times/places to wear, I've purchased this more than once in the last few years, and easily decided that I'll always have this in my collection.

Eau de Parfum Oh my god! How to describe it? It's like the most interesting "sweet" fragrance a man can wear. It has the sweetness that women seem to like but with a "darkness" that's fit for a man. You'll smell like the most delectable piece of candy in existence. This is a fantastic romance scent. Getting close to a lady, wear this. The sweetness mixed with the darkness is sexy yet manly. The consistency of it means you can wear this year round. I wore this to my local watering hole last night and the woman I wound up dancing with simply could not get enough of it. The performance is BEYOND beast-mode, especially if you spray your shirt. I sprayed this on about 10pm last night as as of 9:24AM, it's still kick on my skin. I'd go with 2-3 sprays on the neck and 1 or 2 on the shirt. You're good. It's a complex, sexy and versatile fragrance and I've never quite smelled anything like it. If you tire of the regular "crowd pleaser" scents like Sauvage, Bleu De Chanell, Dylan Blue or whatever, try this. I guarantee you, no other guy in the room is wearing it and you'll smell like a God. One of my absolute faves at a 10 out 10. Hoarding Worthy

One of the best blind bought cheapies. I got EDP and although it might feel little sweet, femine, I would not define this as unisex at all. I love its developing over time to lavender, floral woody chocolate and vanilla. In order to maintain long lasting noticable scent, and enjoy all of its positivities to fullnes, u need to apply 4+ sprays. But here comes the only one little problem I have with this: Its opening is so STRONG and citrusy! At first, wearing this to work, I sprayed it after shower and was like, "what the hell I just bought?!". I put on clothes and got ready to work, and after some time I got caught smelling myself in the elevator thinking WHOA, this is amazing ! In conclusion: If u apply 3+ sprays, make sure you have 30+ minutes to fade opening away, other than that, I absolutely love this. I wore it to the summer festivals, because its unique floral and woody smell reminds me of freedom in some way, and creative, positive open minded life attitude. If you dont mind sweet parfumes as a man, this is 100% worth trying.

Never before have I smelled a fragance that evokes feelings of spring like HM. In my experience, when fragrances are described as a spring or autumn-type fragrance, they're usually either too weak or strong for the respective seasons, so they fall on the transitional scale between summer and winter. However, this does not apply to this fragrance at all. This is the quintessential spring fragrance. It captures the feeling of new beginnings and the optimism of the first months of a new year. It's light and elegant, but sharp and present at the same time. The citrus notes are creamy, sweet and edible and the blackcurrant note provides just enough freshness and acidity to cut through the smooth vanilla and amber. To me, it's the smell of snow smelting in the warm spring sun with not a cloud in sight skywide. The wind blows chilly, but you know the breezes will warm up soon. The days are getting longer and you feel like better days are not far off. I wish I had a thousand bottles so I could feel this way forever.

What a remarkable fragrance this is. It opens with a burst of lemon which stays for most of the life of this fragrance. HM then develops into a creamy sandalwood and vanilla oriental woody gourmand. What makes this such an outstanding perfume (EDP BTW) is that it develops the entire time I wear this becoming more gourmand and then more Woody Oriental, the florals make an appearance, and then it finishes with a beautiful chocolate note that goes on and on. The lemon goes on and on too making this feel super fresh, sophisticated, different than any other Woody Oriental I own or have tried. Decent longevity. The lemon stays with me with HM whereas with other frags it blows off my skin pretty darn quickly. One of the few perfumes I've bought and immediately ordered another, larger, bottle. The price here in the States is really affordable. A tasteful, well mannered perfume. I highly recommend.

I was trying to find another gourmand fragrance to wear at night for my wife and found it! It's a good thing those YouTubers made videos on this frag, because I blind bought this after looking into the notes and reading what others said about it. I love this fragrance! Even though it has that lemon cream smell that dominates it, it's not too sweet and my wife likes it. I only bought the 1.7 oz bottle and wish I bought the 3.4 oz one instead. Oh well, at least I know how good this is and know what's a great gourmand. It's a mature scent though, so I don't see High Schoolers rocking this, but college or young professionals to older men wearing this nicely in the evenings. This is very good and fills a niche into which I had previously placed Reflection Man by Amouage but will now put this one. It's a similar effect to Reflections - sweet, creamy, slightly floral, with a bit of edge which makes it masculine. However Reflection I find cloying pretty much at all times, whereas this one has a transparency which makes it work a lot better. The fragrance for me is based around the contrast between a citrus/vanilla top and a sandalwood/oakmoss base. It leaves a lot of space in between. The masculine bass notes are up front right from the beginning (and actually smell quite ash-y), which for me is essential to the fragrance. I bought the EDP version, and I found the performance to be average-good. I'm not actually that keen on very long lasting fragrances so it's fine for me. I would say good for summer evenings. It could also work well for women.

Nothing beats this wonderful fragrance on my shelves, especially as hvnscnt writes below: "the quintessential spring scent." I'm wearing it now in the cool late summer, and it also performs beautifully in autumn, but the beautiful blend of florals combined with the coolness of the fragrance is pure springtime perfection. On my skin, this scent lasts for over 12 hours. Women compliment this HM Hanae Mori. - Niets lijkt op deze heerlijkheid van alles wat er op mijn plankjes staat en helemaal zoals hvnscnt hieronder al schrijft: 'de typische lentegeur'. Ik draag hem nu in de koele nazomer en ook in de herfst doet deze het meer dan goed, maar de mooie mix van bloemen in combinatie met de koelte in het geheel van de geur is pure perfectie in de lente. Op mijn huid houdt deze geur langer dan 12 uur aan. Vrouwen complimenteren deze HM Hanae Mori.

One of my hidden gem of gourmand fragrances. I love the opening with a blast of lemon and after it settles vanilla kick in. I get a lot of compliment wearing this fragrance.I actually own the edp version which is good choice didnt try the edt yet. Also its not overpowering 3 spray is enough and last all day.Tried it on warmer days and it doesnt bother me. But this is definitely good for cool season. I live in florida and summer is very long here and doesnt get cold around mid december. But its safe to wear. I got HM (the EDP version) from the Hanae Mori website back in April 2025, and it reminds me so much of another fragrance I own and love: Lorenzo Pazzaglia Evil Angel. It's crazy how much they resemble each other despite the difference in notes. It wouldn't surprise me that Lorenzo Pazzaglia got inspired by it, because the scent profile, for being such an unusual one, has too many similarities. I wanted to mention I bought this fragrance on FragranceNet back in 2017 before it got discontinued, and I remember it smelling different. It was sharper and more floral, so I ended up giving it away. I know olfactory memory is unreliable, but this recent batch seems to smell smoother, better blended and more complex and balanced than I remember. Doesn't last as long, though. The other one had a stronger fixative.

As an older guy, I tend to avoid the citrus/vanilla combo, but this one is special. It's a little bit sweet and not especially masculine, but DAMN is it sophisticated. There's a whole little world of clean, fresh smells packed in there, and it makes you think of power suits, glass boardrooms, mirrored floodlights, and elegance. This is the smell that really organized guy on 48 with the smokin' hot secretary exudes. The initial blast gives me a lot of lemon and black currant, and it dries down to a really nice, complex, velvety chocolate smell on me with the amber and vanilla playing around in it, while the cedar keeps it just on the masculine side of neutral. Good one for the office, bound to not offend a single nose. Sticks around but doesn't get heavy or cloying. 7/10

How you ended up on a review of such an obscure fragrance I'll never know, but if you're an individual who wants to smell individual, then you've come to the right scent. I'm not going to over embellish and tell you how MINDBLOWINGLY AMAZING this is, but I will tell you honestly, that it is a beautiful scent that has stood the test of time and will not only be unique but also enjoyed by most who get their noses on it. It's grown up, yet playful, woody, yet slightly gourmand, but not in the sickly sweet way that most modern gourmands are done. This isn't a clone of a chocolate chip cookie, it's more a chocolate covered fruit that you and your lover share amidst a kiss. Its there, but its not the focal point of the experience. One of my favorite scents of all time

This is a wonderful fragrance, can't stop sniffing my wrist. The initial spray is citrusy sweet that doesn't smell synthetic at all. Wait for it to develop and you'll definitely notice similarities with Ultra Male in the middle with that juicy pear that lingers for a few hours until it settles into that chocolatey, caramelly, floral scent, but it is lighter and not too cloying, unlike UM.This can definitely be a unisex fragrance but it could be too strong for women so maybe just one spray will do. This is totally a keeper! The positive reviews here and some helpful reviews in Youtube (yes, Katie Puckrik, you're one of them...) influenced me immensely to blind-buy this. Wonderful fragrance even if a bit too feminine on the opening...or at least for some. I got this a few years back and for a while I was put off by the incredibly sweet floral opening. It just felt like women's perfume. The opening changes to a much more pleasant scent that projects really well without annoying. On the contrary, it's very appealing and much more rounded. I feel this could easily be worn by women. No, it won't tell the world just how tough you are, but then again, if that's what you wanna' do, just go buy Brut or something like that. I find it good for year round wearing, but don't get carried away in the summer months. Considering how inexpensive it has become, it's worth a try. Enjoy.

Just a first impression after multiple drive-by's before I finally pulled a blind buy, but "Whoa, Nelly" this is one well behaved ball of complexity. Apart from the opening which is a citrus assault at light speed, the dry down is shifting nearly constantly between warm and spicy and fresh and floral. It's like Dr. Jekyll to A*Men's Mr. Hyde. Can't wait to see where this finishes, but for now it is a fun ride. I'm dumbfounded as to the quality-to-price factor. This is a tremendous value for what you get. But, it's probably not for everyone because it really has so much going on. The push-and-pull between the different notes could be overwhelming if that's not what you're into.

Excellent on many levels. It lasts a long time but the scent transitions considerably throughout the day. Starts out with the berry scent being the most noticeable, but by the end of the day it's a more subtle chocolate. It lasts a long time but it's not overly strong at any point in time - you can wear it in casual settings without seeming out of place. It's very unique and interesting compared to a lot of generic masculine scents you'll find even in the more expensive brands. Odds are it's unlike anything you already own, so it'll add something new to your collection and fit for occasions others might not. Definitely would buy again.

A gem that has really grown on me. Initially I was divided on the opening, which has a gourmand vibe, a strong lemon tart kind of smell. But it fairly quickly develops more of the vanilla and black currant for a more balanced scent. It smells a bit like a python lolly, but without the over-sweetness of a lolly's taste. I consider it a casual, playful kind of scent. When I have children, this is what I would wear when playing around with them in the backyard. It could be unisex, but I think it works well for men. It's a very unique fragrance for men and I have never smelled anything like this perfume before! It is complex , classy and sweet but not overpowering. I read comments and checked reviews on YouTube. Katie Puckrik explains this perfume very well. It opens up with like fresh sweet Lemon then it changes like sweet floral, dry down is sweet vanilla chocolate. If you like a very unique scent, you will like this one. Hanae Mori HM is suitable for the spring, summer and fall. Longevity is very good. I really enjoy it and I love HM Hanae Mori EDT. Highly recommended. Two Thumbs Up. Rating : 8 / 10

Im shocked by all the bad reviews for this fragrance. This is literally my favorite of the around 40 or so fragrances in my collection. I am on my third bottle of this stuff i love it and sometimes even layer it on-top of other stuff i wear. I get a strong lemon note, vanilla, and musk throughout the wear and i carry the bottle around with me to apply more sprays. Maybe its reminding me of something else, but in any case i love this stuff and can’t imagine it could offend anyone. I get around 5 hours with it but usually add a spray or two every 2-3 hours if it is around.

To me there is Not much better and I will have this forever. I have searched for decades to find the perfect one and this is close. Because of this masterpiece I no longer feel that emptiness I've been sleeplessly searching for.. now I don't need every fragrance in the market.. and it makes me very happy and certain. I still enjoy other "dark" fragrances such as A*men, YSL NUIT, and the slightly lighter spicy dark such as Chanel allure, fahrenheit, but in the midst of many many years and fragrances this is my over the hills and far away. 9/10

it Starts out freshy but only for minute never actually going soapy (Thank God!!!) then it go's to this slight tropical vibe with this well it reminds me of that cereal note in TM Pure malt before they reformulated it (yes the reformulated it and it BLEEEEEPing Sucks!!!) then starts having a kind of light sweet aquatic not Ocean type but like the lake after swimming and beach/dock lounging after 😊 this scent smells of quality well beyond its price bracket!!! it's quite nice! I wish this house would make more mens Fragrances!!!! GodBless<3

Its really difficult to try and make comparisons to other fragrances, when talking about Hanae Mori for Men, there isnt a fragrance like it ! Totally distinctive, and in a wonderful way! A really nice opening of floral type notes, which moves to a light subdued spice/ vanilla combination. Nice longevity, for a whole evening. Would wear this to any sort of dinner/wedding/date. Age ? 30-40 bracket. Wouldn't wear this for the office, perhaps a little too powerful & distracting. Receives great compliments. Always noticed, and in a fond way !

Créme bruleé. That's my description of this pleasantly dreamy juice. So nice and clean and actually ribbonly well balanced. Just enough to keep people guessing what you have on. Just purchased this online at fragrance.net for $22. I'm so excitedly awaiting the arrival. This is the 2nd time I'm getting this. The first purchase was in 2003 from Nordstrom. I used to wear this sparingly since it was an eu de parfum spray and I payed full price back then. It lasted me a couple of years. I loved it! Can't wait til it arrives!!!

Just got a bottle of this and have been wearing past couple of days. It's a very pleasant smelling fragrance. I do get that lemon tart smell in the opening and as it dries down, I start smelling the chocolate and vanilla. On my skin it projects for about the first 2 hours and then sits close to my skin. It lasts about 8-9 hours on me. Around that 8 hour mark it really starts to die down. It's a nice fragrance and really good value for the price. Got compliments today at work so, I give it an overall 8/10 rating.

This fragrance sneaks up on you. Initial spray is a creamy lemon. So you think "Fresh!" but it definitely is not "citrusy" or "soapy". Then the vanilla and chocolate start showing up and you think "gourmand", but the lemon is still there so it keeps it from being too sweet. A nicely blended scent that would be appropriate in a lot of settings. excellent longevity and great sillage. can be unisex, but it is masculine leaning. An interesting fragrance all around.

This is possibly the most versatile fragrance I've ever owned (the EDP version). It's a rarity in that it's citrus, gourmand, all seasons worthy, work/night time appropriate, monster projection and longevity, garners compliments, is extremely reasonably priced, and not very mainstream. This is one extremely under rated fragrance. The only people who I would advise to stay away are those who absolutely hate sweet fragrances.

This is absolutely one of my favorites!!! I love the jasmine, rose and sandalwood; these are my favorite notes. These are subtlety hidden away behind fresh lemon for you to discover with even more floral subtleties to discover. This has also converted me to oak moss. It's like a floral forest after a rain. As it dries down you smell the wood among the moss. Very refreshing for spring and summer.

The world is so infatuated with Invictus and sauvage. Meanwhile, this fragrance has been around for much longer and gives you far better quality and creativity in terms of design and execution. This is a truly fantastic summer fragrance. Hard to believe how inexpensive it has become.... I paid retail for it several years ago when it was still very pricey and I have no regrets.

Totally unisex fragrance although marketed towards men. I get a sweet lemon meringue with fresh lavender and light woods . Altogether is very creamy , airy and although almost gourmand, it’s still fresh. I have the EDT. Beautiful fragrance, I bought this at a killer bargain although I don’t think I’d pay full retail for this , because longevity for me was only 4 hours

Absolutely love this fragrance but I had a bottle from about 5 years ago just bought a new one and they are a little different And I'm not really one to obsess or nitpick but this newer issue is definitely a little watery or less powerful and the bottle has a slight difference in appearance and the juice has a different type of color...Just my individual observation

Man, I wish I had bought this when it was dirt cheap. I just tried it at a New Year’s party because it was sitting in the bathroom and I fell in love. It’s rich vanilla and Tonka with a lot of interesting facets. I own around 700 bottles, and I’d say this is pretty unique, at least in America. Sorta reminds me of Chanel Homme but with amped up vanilla and Tonka.

This is one of those "best kept secrets". I love both the HM and HiM Hanae Mori cologne, and get my fair share of complements every time I wear them. The HM starts out a wonderful blend of citrus and possibly blackberry(?), touched with a hint of vanilla; after a half hour, it turns into a woody/chocolate blend. Highly recommended!

I loved wearing this from approximately 2001-2005. I got so many compliments and questions on fragrance I was wearing. I had the Eau De Parfume Spray version of this. It smelled quite unique, but yet familiar to me. Kind of like a light soapy, creamy, cremé brulee scent..I might purchase this scent again in the future. Hmmm..

EDP- Smells exactly like a chocolate cake shooter tastes. Frangelico liqueur, lemon, and white sugar. Absolutely marvelous scent, regardless of price. Easy easy blind buy. Mad I didn't pick this up earlier. 20+ years old, but still smells very modern. I can see a scent like this one never going out of style.

went to fragrance sale store today to try testers with the intention of picking up a unique, solid spring/summer scent, spent a good amount of time testing heaps of different colognes on cards and then found this...now I have a 100ml bottle of it. What more do i need to say? fit the bill perfectly. EDT.

Beautiful creamy, powdery, citrusy, vanilla gourmand heaven. Blind bought this from Perfumania and feel in love. The EDT version is quite strong, but in all honesty, the EDP may be the strongest fragrance on the entire market, designer or niche. Top 5 hidden gem in designer perfumery.

Acquired this fragrance in 2014, it was the second fragrance I ever owned. Wore it as a daily and remember it performed well with longevity and was a compliment getter. Great fragrance all year round. Just wish i could find it in stock in New Zealand as it is a core memory fragrance.

The EDP is the way to go , I have both and I can easily notice the difference .I don’t like the EDT so much , but the EDP is just creamy and delicious , I definitely get the chocolatey vibe more with the EDP. One of my favorite fall and winter scents in the cold weather of Canada .
