Green Irish Tobacco

While ostensibly inspired by the combination of Green Irish Tweed + Tobacco Vanille, it's by no means a 1:1 ringer. Green grassy opening with a light touch of tobacco and powdery iris. It has the airiness of violet leaves but a smooth barbershop-like foamy undertone, rather than the sharp citrus bitters and mint of GIT. Beneath everything is a heaping dose of creamy whipped vanilla. A green vanilla scent, almost a fougere but vanillic instead of soapy. However, the grassy note fades as it dries down while the tobacco gets stronger and more ashy. Moderate projection for 4-5hr, after a strong opening blast, longevity 10-12hr. I find that the vanilla kinda dominates and the tobacco is more of a footnote for most of the duration. It's also similar to Happyland's own Gaelic Mist, not listed on Fragrantica, but sweeter.

Everyday wear rotation for fall, winter and spring months. Easily get 8+ hours with excellent projection for first 5 to 7 hours. I Agree with other reviewers that sweet barbershop best describes this scent. Scent 9/10 Performance 8.5/10 Sillage 8/10 Longevity 9/10

This is incredible. I get fresh green bar soap and leafy tobacco, combined with rich vanilla. Throw a dash of spice in the mid and you have a juxtaposition of soapy fresh green and creamy tobacco and vanilla. Magic.

Happyland Studio Fragrances Green Irish Tobacco is one of the more recent releases and the only in the current catalogue that is not an original creation. Green Irish Tobacco is a blend inspired by the mix of Creed Green Irish Tweed and Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. This is actually only my second time wearing the sample decant after initially trying it out some weeks ago, but my opinion of it remains largely the same—namely, perfumer/owner E.J. Wells nails the concept quite well and in appropriate proportion. Tobacco Vanille is such an overwhelming fragrance the Green Irish Tobacco blend would only work, in my opinion, if the TV influence were limited and the fresher Green Irish Tweed component made up for more of the experience, proportionally, and this exactly what I get in Green Irish Tobacco: a lot of GIT with some of TV spruced in there to provide its signature tobacco and vanilla. It’s the original GIT with some added heft, sweetness, and slight influence of tobacco, not having as much as GIT’s sharp violet accord, though it’s still there, a practical necessity to keep the GIT vibe strong. I quite like it, not a blend concept I would’ve come up with, but it works very well in the proportion used. Green Irish Tobacco performs quite well, at its extrait concentration, so there’s value in that, as it surely performs much better than GIT though not as well as earlier batches of TV. And as usual, the pricing is not to be beaten, at $50 for 50ml or $35 for 30ml. Overall it’s quite a great blend, versatile and conciliatory to those who don’t love either GIT or TV but enjoy a pivot to the middle. While it does not thrill me quite as much as a number of the original creations, it’s an innovative reworking of two concepts that produce a highly wearable and interesting mix. 7 out of 10

Tried this as a sample. It's a good manly, versatile fragrance, but not among my top preferences. The opening is my favorite part, I get many of the listed notes, including some sweetness. The long dry down is less appealing to me. The scent narrows down to more of a "dried green/herbal" with some tobacco and some vanilla. Maybe that's why "green" is in the name? I don't smell this as a "barbershop" scent, but I can see where other folks might get that. I better enjoy some of the other Happyland offerings. But with successive wearings this scent is growing on me. The more I wear this fragrance it has changed from a "like" closer to a "love". Would recommend you sample, and give it some time.

This completely took me by surprise. It is fantastic! Think Green Irish Tweed with Tobacco notes. It opens with very well blended tobacco/lemon verbena/violet leaf. It is extremely pleasant and smooth. Dry down brings forth vanilla/ambergris similar to the sandalwood vibe one gets from GIT. Longevity is above average (easy full work day) and projection is strong for first few hours. This was a stroke of genius to add tobacco to a GIT vibe DNA. My sample will surely lead me to buying a bottle. As always, get a sample for yourself to get your own opinion.

This is a very pleasant, unique fragrance; spicy with a hint of tobacco. Very good longevity and sillage. I'm a fan of the brand. Quality performance, quantity, at a reasonable price. That being said, I'm not gaga over this scent so the sample (which are generous) is enough for me. I recommend getting a sample.

Lemon and violet leaves, tobacco and vanilla. Really nice, fresh and soapy mix. Bit of an aftershave vibe. Refined. Not the easiest wear but easy enough. VG dumb-reach if you could pull it off.

Smelling the atomizer, it is a 50/50 split of GIT and TV. Once sprayed on you almost immediately get that lemon verbena accord found in GIT. Very quickly it moves into the powdery, spice-filled, and vanilla based TV we all love. Longevity is around 10 hours like most of Happyland's offerings. This is really a quality blend of 2 noteworthy fragrances that is perfect for the cooler weather. Overall - 8/10

Happyland makes some great scents! I got a sample of Green Irish Tobacco and liked it enough to purchase a bottle. It is a good scent- I just don't understand how a scent called "Green Irish Tobacco" has next to no tobacco in the scent. A really likeable scent. Green Irish Tobacco with next to no tobacco in the scent??? At least not on me. What's up with that?

It just doesn't work. The GIT/TV parts don't get along at all in this. You can smell two different ideas in here that never synergize into something that smells like a singular fragrance. Not smooth and not blended well. Only Barbershop is a worse fragrance in this house. 5.5/10

I ordered a sample a few days ago and received it today. Upon spraying it, right out of the gate I got the G.I.T notes but almost within seconds the Tobacco starts to show up. This is what makes this fragrance so interesting. The other notes in the mix are very subtle as it dries down, but astute noses will detect them. As it continues the dry down the tobacco and vanilla take over with the vanilla being the dominant note. If you enjoy vanilla and spice with a touch of tobacco, this is your scent. Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille is much more potent and the Tobacco note, more powerful. It is definitely built for the wearer and not the audience unless the audience just loves the smell of pipe tobacco IMHO. I find this one more palatable for the masses and it comes across in a non-offensive and well-blended manner. It’s a great fit as an all-purpose spray-and-go cool weather scent and quite suitable for office wear if that applies. The longevity is eight hours plus. The scent trail is certainly above average but it isn’t a powerhouse....good for about a three to four foot radius. A little does go a long way so I would recommend one spray on the usual spots. I got compliments on it right away though...from men! Up close it’s very nice, warm and sweet. Inexplicably, I found the various notes and in particular the lemon verbena included, hung around longer on my clothes. That I liked. This is a standout fragrance from E.J. Wells and Happyland Studios. Scent 9+ Sillage. 8 Performance 8.5 Longevity 8

Used Creed's GIT for over a decade, then experienced an olfactory burnout with it. Also, Creed changed the formulation and GIT is NOT as good as it used to be. The dry down of the recent formulation of GIT is, in fact, to my nose, foul-smelling. Went to the Happyland Studio website and snagged a sample of this blend (Happyland sends generous samples). It's a wonderful mix of the best (think original formulation) GIT with tobacco/vanilla notes weaved in. Regarding the presentation of this fragrance, the sum is greater than the parts, and the sum is an absolutely spot-on, proportional, wonderful work of art. The longevity is a grand slam home run, the price point is quite affordable, and the feeling (for me) is one of freshness and sophistication. It's rich (extract strength -- stronger than parfum), green, and dries down to a comforting tobacco-vanilla vibe. It's a 10 out of 10 and checks all the boxes of what a men's fragrance should be. I've already purchased a bottle and plan on stocking up (added bonus -- their shipping is lightning fast and their customer service is top-notch). So, here's a four-word summary from a fan and aficionado of quality men's colognes: THIS STUFF IS GREAT!

"Barbershop Vanilla" The name of the fragrance gives enough description as to what you will be getting: green lemon verbena mixed with a whole lot of vanilla and a hint of tobacco. This fragrance is reportedly to conceptualise mixing Green Irish Tweed and Tobacco Vanille, and while many wearers will enjoy that mix, I am not a big fan of that concoction. The fragrance IMO doesn't take the best out of TV and GiT, nor does it fall between the two. The mix gives the vanilla a fougere/barbershop type feel, rendering it quite bitter. Verdict: O.K fragrance - 5/10

Just received this yesterday. To sum this up in one word...AMAZING!!! We are talking great quality, and great performance here. Received a level of customer service from this company that you just don't find anymore these days. Can't wait to try more fragrances from the house! Well done, Mr. Wells!!!
