Duke

Out of the five Harlem Candle Co. perfumes, I do think it is this one - Duke - that leans the most overtly masculine. However, I’m a woman and I say, this one’s not just for the boys! It’s smoky and mysterious, with just a touch of “florals”/aromatic notes from the lavender and an underlying sweetness from the bourbon honey. It’s hella classy and elegant. Those are the most “obvious” notes that I get - I can also detect the citrus in the background giving this just a touch of “clean freshness.” However, this is overall a very well-blended fragrance so nothing really dominates to me. This is the kind of fragrance I personally crave when the weather gets cold - I want smoke, spices, woods, a touch of sweetness without smelling like a chocovanillamarshmallow cupcake.

I agree with others that this is the most masculine fragrance of the line. I bought Langston and Duke for my husband a while back as part of his birthday gifts. He did not receive it... Langston that is. Duke was perfect for him, just him. I enjoy a masculine leaning frag especially to layer on top of in the cooler months with a more feminine scent. The lavendar is "dark", along with the tobacco, pepper and sweetish honey gives the amber. Duke smells great on him. This house is one I collect for a reason. The fragrances are complex, but distinct, they all remind the user of the theme/ musician/ singer it's named after.

On test strip this is the most beautiful, elegant, professional, and gentlemanly fragrance ever created. Sophisticated, exquisite, and beautiful from start to finish. On my skin one of the notes turns into an old Spalding basketball rubber note that you always noticed the instant you walked into a sporting goods store, which i love, just not usually in a fragrance. The rubber smell is close to skin, but in the air you smell that beautiful and sophisticated gentleman fragrance. Harlem Perfumes does an incredible job. Their fragrances just get more rich and delectable as the top notes dissipate. This is beautiful.

Received this sample in the mail after purchasing some candles from Harlem Candle Co. for my wife. This is a beautiful scent and I will consider purchasing a full bottle. Very masculine, but a sophisticated woman can also pull this off. The fragrance has a good amount of spice with amber, tobacco, and vanilla driving the show. Reminds me a bit of Tobacco Vanille but the pink peppercorn note really elevates this scent. Longevity is incredible and could smell it on my skin well into the next day. My wife loved it on me and I would say its a bit intoxicating (in a good way)!

My husband flip for Duke and I am putting it on my Christmas list for him. These fragrances would make an elegant gift. The bottles are stunning. That being said Duke is a rich balsamic amber fragrance. Warm spicy, slightly woody and resinous it exudes elegance and classy. This is a very sophisticated fragrance for any man who wants to make a good impression. I see it as a special occasion perfume and special date night fragrance. One a man wears when he wants to seal the deal if you know what I mean. Seductive and inviting.
