Kirsch Headspace

I am not extremely educated on scents/smells, notes, etc so I apologize that this review is not necessarily discussing all the notes and whatnot. I just walked into a perfume/cologne store in Paris about a year and a half ego, described what I was looking for (something unisex, unique, soft, a little sweet but leathery) and they presented me with Kirsch. I wear it as a man, and I get compliments ALL the time, and have been asked by probably 15 people what brand it is/where they can get it (men and women). I love that it’s so obviously unisex because I like to present a little feminine, and this is the perfect scent. About 8 months ago I purchased a bottle of headspace’s styrax and LOVE to use it as a layering scent on top of the kirsch (specifically at night). It’s a super cool mix of like the lighter more feminine fresh cherry/sake and soft leather in the kirsch, and the dark casino cigarette/cigar Smokey masculine smell of the styrax it’s super cool. I’m excited to try the Myrrhe scent next!

A beautiful boozy cherry fragrance with a lovely suede note. Opens with a heavy dose of that fresh sake and spiced rum, paired with a juicy cherry that makes it feel like a cherry blossom infused cocktail, warm and slightly sweet. The heart has a combo of that saffron and iris creating a beautifully smooth, slightly spiced, slightly sweet floral aroma and it pairs so nicely with that heavy booze from before. The dry down has a more earthy approach with hints of that oakmoss, a lot of smooth suede and a fresh musky ambroxan that lightens the scent up. This is a heavily boozy scent but it works in warmer weather thanks to that ambroxan, and the suede here isn’t too dark and brooding, it feels like a light and airy suede vs heavy and rich. This is a wonderful blend of notes that evokes a boozy cocktail with floral aromas and earthy, musky airs.

Love this. I'm wondering if I can achieve a similar effect by combining Lost Cherry and Animalique, but I guess I'd still be missing that amazing bright sake and cherry blossom opening, and the staid tonka in Lost Cherry would ruin the cool drydown. Kirsch offers such an appealing sequence of scents, from sake to cooked cherry (a la Tom Ford etc) to sueded mimosa leather/concrete (Animalique style).

I always look for cherry scents that are not sweet, and this one is good! Sake note adds something extra to it, something that other cherry perfumes don't have. This spicy warmth that is also mellow... Beautiful. I have a miniature for now but I will think about getting a larger bottle. Also the miniature bottles are sooo cute!!!! I would've kept it just for the bottle if I didn't like the scent.

What a lovely cherry iris scent! Never imagined this combination but it turns out fun and sexy. And great longevity. Keen to explore more headspace scents.

Sake has been one of my favorite notes to smell recently. First impression is that I loveee this so much, very comforting scent.

To my nose this is leather first and Cherry second. But it’s a very smooth, toned down leather. It’s semi sweet and a bit powdery. The notes says sake and Rum but I don’t get any booze at first. A bit creaminess which maybe is from the sake. Later in the drydown the dark fruit appears. I hint af cherry liqueur now and not in your face boozy or harsh.

Guerlain is clever to pair cherry with suede, it is an interesting combination.

A few years ago, when I heard Tom Ford was coming out with a new cherry fragrance, this is largely what I imagined in my head - something in the spirit of Oud Wood, or Tobacco Vanille. This is a deep, woody, leathery, dark cherry fragrance which is grounded in a base of oakmoss, rum and cedar. Much more mature than most competitors. A going-out fragrance. Floral notes like iris, galbanum and saffron are more present in the dry down.

At first cherry is definitely dominating but within a few minutes it's starting to slowly fade away and the leather note becomes much louder. After my first try I didn't like it that much but it somehow grew on me. The atomizer itself made me really like this brand. It is not my favorite fragrance from Headspace but definitely worth a try.

I gave this perfume a low rating because it’s completely undetectable on my skin. In all fairness, this might be constructed using mostly an aroma chemical that I am anosmic to, and maybe others are able to fully smell it. In the vial, and on paper, I smell the slightest cherry but no booze or leather. It’s really, really disappointing because the notes sound wonderful and as someone who dislikes the gooey, goopy gourmand stuff this seemed like a cherry centered fragrance that I would adore. Too bad.

Leather note is really strong, it is mixed with cherry but I would say 65% leather 35% cherry. They take over so the rest of the notes are not noticeable. Pass for me as I don’t fancy leather fragrances that are this overpowering

I can clearly smell the cherry here, and I don't think this goes unnoticeable by any means. The biggest thing I like here is the sake note- it feels like there's an ethereal floralness in the heart that is an intriguing mix of jammy, fresh, and dewy with a clean aromatic quality to it. Almost rosy but not in a distinctly rose-y way. I love sake itself and my favorites have notes of white florals and fruits like plum or pear, and sometimes nutty facets like almond. Those play perfectly into the cherry liquer accord here. I do also sense leather but it's not super suede-like in texture, and I feel like it's coming more from the saffron and oak moss than the iris. Because of that this leans more syrupy, darker, and murky than a smooth suede typically does, but it still has a dark roughness to it. I like parts of it, but other parts feel like they would lack character from a foot away and be mistaken for other sweet saffron perfumes. It's also a bit too sweet for me. Maybe a little too trendy without enough distinction, although I don't think it's a bad scent. All these themes read very "perfumey" to me, but I could see it growing on me.

Smells like PLASTIC LOVE. Brutalist studio apartment made entirely out of smooth glistening freshly scrubbed concrete with minimal decor consisting of a large Ubald Klug for De Sede 'Terrazza' off white leather couch and an aftermarket Porsche 911 that was fine tuned by Akira Nakai. The Porsche’s leather interior is a Cartier maroon red tone and is laquered in cherry scented gloss; Mariya Takeuchi’s PLASTIC LOVE is playing on the radio “プラスティック・ラヴ. (One of my most favorite songs) Unisexxx, compelling, yet sumptuous. Other cherry fragrances are cute, sexy, sweet... but this cherry is retro yet futuristic in an adult cool very unisex way. I usually steer from synthetic cherry car wash type scents but this I’m adoring. Kudos on the bottle design, even the tiny bottles are cute.

I ordered a decant of this fragrance as an alternative to Cherry Punk, which does not last long on my skin. I love the first hour of this one, it is less polarizing than Cherry Punk, the leather note is toned down compared to that fragrance, cherry being the most prominent note. However, after 2 or 3 hours, this turns into something sickly sour, rotting, fermenting. I think it may be the sake note, which does not work for me at all. Pity :( In the end I found an alternative in a cheap TF Lost Cherry dupe, which I think is better than Tom Ford, but that is another story....

Guys I’ve smelt this as I’ve been wanting a cherry based fragrance for a while. Have tested cherry oud by guerlain and must I say it is potent and beautiful. This smells exactly the same... why is that the case or it’s just me? I know the perfumer is part of the guerlain family but I don’t get why they’d make a cheap cherry oud?

More leathery than fruity, though it sounds softer than Ford’s Tuscan Leather. The fragrance develops in a spiral: “boozy cherry – saffron – leather – cherry again,” and so on. Ambroxan is clearly perceptible, which gives it a distinctly modern, slightly synthetic nuance.

This is super smoky! Particularly in the dry down. and yes - definitely cherry. delicious

This is a LEATHER fragrance with a faraway cherry backdrop. Fine by me!
