Monoi de Tahiti

If you are planning a trip on italian coasts during the summer, this is it. Monoi de Tahiti is the joyful scent of the most beautiful aftersun on tanned skin, the picture of a sunny afternoon spent playing and eating ice creams at the beach, all in a bottle. It's a timeless, feminine, sweet floral with a deeper note from amber. The fragrance is loud enough to have a noticeable sillage and a remarkable longevity for an EDT: 3-4 spritz and you're done for the whole afternoon. I have the full size here and the notes listed are wrong. From the box: - HEAD (exotic flowery) - natural essential oil of tiarè flowers, ylang ylang, tahitian gardenia - BODY (fruity gourmand) - tahitian Lime flowers, coconut pulp, jasmine - BASE (sweet oriental) - vanille, styrax, amber notes On the skin, this is a quite consistent white and yellow floral with a great vanilla base. It's deeply sweet, warm, without any sour nor acidic note. The development is so subtle and smooth that it seems to remain the same. Since there's coconut listed, it's fair to say that there is no woody coconut here: the note does not stand out in this beautiful blend, there's just a sweet coconut subtle hint with a "summer cosmetics" or "coconut icecream" vibe in the middle of the fragrance, really well blended with the flowers. I'm a lover when it comes to vanille gourmands with amber and sweet flowers, so it's a safe blind buy to my nose, especially when it's so cheap.

This is a strong, intoxicating, white floral. Coconut is not detectable on my skin. The projection for the first couple of hours is enormous. Lasting power is also pretty good for the price point. It does not evolve too much and it is a pretty linear tiaré floral, with hints of other white flowers (I perceive jasmine) supporting. I would not suggest a blind buy, in particular if you are searching for a tropical-coconut-sunscreen like fragrance, because - at least on my skin- it is isn't. It is all about white flowers, as I said, and not in a crowd pleaser way. In fact I can understand that it can be perceived as quite indolic, in particular in the opening. In fact, not all the comment It gathered have been positive. I don't think it isn't strictly a summer fragrance. I've tried it in the hottest months, and it worked, even if I suggest to wear in the evening, because it is truly powerful. But I fell that is in the colder months that it truly shines.

This is very nice and inexpensive. (about 20 euro) The typical full Tiare flower (oil), like the one of Comptoir Sud Pacifique or the note you find into the heart of Fracas which is obviously more complex than this. I adore it, this is smooth warm pure joy. Make you happy, even sensual, and transport you into a "forever summer" beach. I had an identical fragrance in the 90s called Essences de Tahiti. I repeat it is the edt version of the coco-monoi the polinesian oil tan/after sun lotion which became popular on the beachs of everywhere after the 70s I suppose. Make me think to Love Boat the tv series. Pocket summer. I love it.

Monoi Is one of the few "sweet" scents I love. I've tried some cheapies and this one is my favorite so far. Smells more intoxicating, slightly indolic, and actually floral rather than the super gourmand, vanilla heavy monoi scents that I've tried so far. I love how the creaminess comes more from the flower notes rather than from the gourmand ones, it just feels more like actual monoi oil. It's quite a potent scent for summer tho, it's better for the night time in my opinion.
