Pink Grapefruit & Vetiver

I just discovered this last week and I'm reviewing it here because no one else has. I feel a little bad about doing so, because there isn't much of it around and now that Henri Bendel went out of business there won't be any more of it. Henri Bendel was a smaller, very posh women's department store in New York City. It was known mainly for purses, but it had clothing and cosmetics too. I'm kind of vague here because I never went in it much when I was in NYC. When there's Bergdorf Goodman and Bonwitt Teller (well, there was Bonwitt teller until about 1995), and limited time, many women didn't bother with Bendel's. At least I didn't; and I don't remember ever getting further than the first floor. I don't know if they had other stores than the one in midtown Manhattan either; I know they didn't have one in Chicago. According to Fragantica, Henri Bendel only produced their store brand perfumes since 2004. But if Pink Grapefruit & Vetiver is any indication, someone at Bendel's could really gauge what women wanted and couldn't find in the sea of mass marketed perfumes. And apparently had a contract with an excellent perfume maker. Pink Grapefruit & Vetiver spritzes onto my skin as a burst of grapefruit and vetiver in nearly equal measure. The first 30 minutes or so it nuances back and forth between grapefruit and vetiver. The next 30 minutes seem more grapefruity, and then it settles into primarily vetiver. Good vetiver too. Welcome vetiver. It lasts about 4 hours on my skin. It hasn't been very hot here in the 2 days since this bottle arrived, so I can't judge yet if it's the perfect scent in the heat. That was my excuse for buying it, but I think this fragrance might even stand up to occasional depths of winter wear. But only if you can jack up the heat in your house to 75 when no one's looking; this fragrance will not be up to warming you if the thermostat is set at 68 and it's 20 degrees outside.
