Sabi

A mixture of the original Tiffany feminine and Guerlain's Jardins de Bagatelle. Smells like a horse in a florist shop, and to me this is a great smell and a great fragrance. I am reviewing the parfum / extrait. Somehow slightly also related to Annick Goutal's "Eau de Camille" right down to the white flower indoles. The Goutal is "greener" and more "prickly" like running through grass, the Sabi is more floral and polished and smooth. I think the Goutal is also sweeter (honeysuckle?). I find the Sabi more elegant and the Camille more playful and outdoorsy in a different way. Sabi might be champagne on a balcony somewhere warm at midnight under the stars and cosmos, and Camille a bright afternoon in a field of wildflowers and grasses. Maybe one could somehow transition into the other...

I have sampled this a couple of times at Neiman Marcus. It was several years ago and now you can no longer buy it in department stores. I am so disappointed that I didn't buy it when I had the chance. It smelled so perfect. It's very classy and very retro in my opinion. Someday I hope to find a bottle of it. Maybe on eBay? For now...I will pine away for it. It's such a perfect fragrance!!

Just scored a bottle of this at auction. It’s the 50 ml sized bottle with about 25mls remaining, so take everything I say with that in mind. The initial spray reminded me of the way First used to smell on my mother when it originally came out. I think it’s the combination of the vetiver with the florals. The top notes are gorgeous. The angelica seems to temper the narcissus beautifully. I’ll have to try another spray to better articulate it because they went by in a blink, which I have to imagine is down to the age of the bottle. The drydown is very rich lady from a time when rich ladies were not flash. It reminds me a bit of the vanilla vetiver drydown of the original Parfum d’Hermes, but with the ghost of narcissus still wisping about. The bottle is very sexy and well crafted. The curve makes it easy to hold and the cap is delightfully yonic. It communicates secret treasure, which it is.

I've been interested in this perfume. It seems like such a beautiful enigma. The listed notes look like it might vibe with Poeme, Jil #4, or Narcisse?
