Dorilene

Dorilene by Henry Jacques is a complete and utter masterpiece and it is a perfect distillation of sumptuous and opulent white flowers. You can tell that this perfume oil is very high quality and expensive, as it should be at almost $2000 AUD a pop! The bottle is stunning and made out of beautiful and sturdy crystal as well, wrapped with a beautiful gold thread and seal. You take the long crystal dabber and apply it sparingly to the pulse points and it absolutely sings! I can smell the sparkling lily of the valley in the top notes and a hint of the slightly spicy freesia as well, giving the beginning of this fragrance a fresh and effervescent opening. I then smell the buttery and slight banana-y ylang ylang, making everything warm and cozy. Lastly, I smell a lush lily and jasmine, both very sweet and heady. I don't really smell any rose, magnolia or iris, though I am sure that all of these notes are adding their very subtle inflections to the smell of the juice on my skin. Dorilene is a bright, feminine and heady floral that makes me think of both the spring and summer, shimmering like a bouquet of glorious white and yellow flowers in the sun. It would be perfect for a wedding day fragrance and it has a very soft and virginal vibe to it. I could imagine someone very glamorous and yet subdued and sophisticated like Grace Kelly wearing this fragrance and shining. Henry Jacques's fragrance had medium sillage on me and a wear time of about 7 and a half hours, before completely vanishing from my skin. I wish that it lasted at least a couple of more hours considering the incredibly high price I paid for it at the Henry Jacques boutique in Abu Dhabi, but I still consider this well worth a full bottle, though it is way overpriced! Altogether, I would give this perfume a 9.4/10. It's just so beautiful and memorable! I highly recommend it to all white and yellow flower lovers that can afford the steep price for this.
