Semiramis is a very complex floral oriental chypre. It opens with a big burst of fruits and citruses. Then it shifts into a beautiful floral heart where I clearly get jasmine and that green edge from galbanum. The iris gives it a soft powdery vibe, but it’s perfectly balanced, not too makeup-like. After a while the benzoin starts to show up, adding a smooth resinous warmth. And the drydown... wow. Creamy sandalwood with sweet vanilla, deep, rich and elegant. It has so much depth and it keeps evolving for hours. I have the Brumes version and the performance is insane: easily 10+ hours on my skin and it projects extremely well. Still, I definitely want the oil in my collection too. Honestly, bravo. This is perfume making on the highest level. One of my absolute favorites from Henry Jacques. Only downside... it’s sadly only available in Doha.

Samsara’s spirit: different name, different bottle, superior ingredients. Sandalwood forms the heart of the fragrance. Very classy!
