Ambre

AMBRE is one of the best and my most favorite find in 2018. At the same time, it is probably my most worn fragrance this Fall and Winter. Ambre is a warm and spicy scent, really smooth and cozy with soothing and enveloping qualities. To my nose most prominent notes are Cinnamon, Patchouli, Nutmeg, Vanilla and Sandalwood. It opens up very spicy with a heavy dose of Cinnamon and Patchouli, very quickly it smoothens and sweetens up a bit with Vanilla, Nutmeg and Sandalwood joining in showing its ambery and balsamic nuances, also a gourmand side which is almost mouthwatering. In the dry-down I get a delicious chocolaty vibe and this slight malt nuance, making it interesting and unique. The dry-down is quite linear, dry, smooth and warm which is my favorite quality of this scent. Performance wise AMBRE have a superb, almost beastly performance, interestingly when it smoothens and dries down it feels like it dies out, but it keeps projecting heavily with huge wafts from time to time whole day. Longevity is superb like I mentioned and on clothes it tend to project even the next day. I do not know any similar fragrance to Ambre, but I get a slight resemblances of really smooth version of Obsession by Calvin Klein and Spicebomb Extreme by Viktor Rolf fused together. If you like ambery, warm patchouli, vanilla and spicy cinnamon scents, AMBRE could be the one to look for. If interested, Check out my fragrance related Instagram @thechazas

Very nice. I do get Amber briefly on the opening and then patch with a generous sprinkle on spices. I can't say the cinnamon stands out or the vanilla. Essentially it is quite balsamic and not particularly ambery. The patch eases off quite a bit. I have Xerjoff Naxos and I don't get a similarity. I will hang onto my Naxos thanks. If you are expecting a spice bomb like Noir Epices for example then you will be disappointed. Nothing nose tickling here. It's very nice but nothing new or exciting to be found here. Not too sweet and bang on unisex. Moderate longevity and good sillage.
