Blood Berry

I love this. It’s mostly Black Currant and Geranium, then rose with a little “green citronella” note, then sweet raspberry on the long dry down. I love the tart, bright smell of Black Currant but there aren’t many perfumes for the body that are using it yet. There are some home fragrances with it though. MFK recently released a room diffuser that smells very similar, Rue des Grosseiliers. Also smells similar to Diptyque Baies and Glasshouse Night Before Christmas. If people aren’t familiar with Black Currant, they may detect it as rose. I thought Blood Cedar would be my favorite but this is my favorite Blood scent. Heretic, please keep making unique fragrances and ignore people who haven’t caught up.

I'm a huge fan of this fragrance. Many of the other reviews say how the berry isn't strong, but I find it to be quite noticeable, which creates a very earthy sweetness. Some of the notes also create a bit of spice which balances the scent even more. This is a gourmand for people who need to clock into their forest cemetery shift.

I got the Blood Box today, and Heretic never misses for me. I can see where they are going with the whole collection, although all four scents are different, there is a certain ~haunting~ quality that ties them together, making them recognizably Heretic's. All four scents work very well with my skin chemistry, too, which is amazing. Blood Berry is, albeit not my kind of scent, is executed beautifully. You take a fistful of ripe berries and squeeze the juice out of them over the bouquet of roses. The citrus adds not necessarily the freshness but rather tartness to the berries. Update: After the sample got to sit in the drawer for a month, the rose became more prominent, which is not my favorite thing... It's still nice, but I wanted the berries to be the strongest note, not the rose.

I like this, very photo realistic crushed rose petal, in your face citrus and a whisper of sweet raspberries. It is very bright, deliciously juicy potpourri which gathered a little dust. It will be nice to layer! But it doesn't last on skin. I get 2 hours max

This was so pretty out of the bottle and on paper, but the sillage and longevity are terrible.

i write reviews sniffing the fragrance as it ages on my skin over the course of a couple of hours, and the same will be done with this. my previous, albeit light sampling experience of this fragrance has been a resounding 'i genuinely cannot smell it, nor do i care to', but i am nonetheless giving it the grace of a true sit-down. sniffing the atomiser, it is a faint rose and berry scent. upon initial spritz to the skin, it is a surprising punch of rubbing alcohol; surprising in terms of what i have come to expect from heretic parfum, which is an impressive lack of the straight alcohol smell that i detest so much with any given standard fragrance. i do not recall any of my other eight heretic samplers having that alcoholic sting beyond the first second or two of spraying it too close to my nose. as it has been drying, it has been progressively shifting into a rosy grapefruit or lemon, still moderately blanketed by the aforementioned rubbing alcohol. any semblance of berry was lost as it came out of the bottle. the more that i smell it, the quicker a headache is befalling me, and the more that the sharp citrus note is wrestling for the spotlight with the rose; whether this reads as a dance or as war depends on one's taste in fragrance, i imagine. the citrus is notably different than that in blood orange; that one being comparatively ever-so-slightly warm, as opposed to the nose hair-curling sharpness of blood berry. on the matter of the title, it feels misleading, both in terms of the blood and the berry. on my skin, this is a rose and yellow citrus fragrance, reminiscent of an overpriced hand soap for people with decorative pillows and fake plants. this belongs on a shelf of perfumes at a mall. if i were to catch this scent wafting off of someone walking past me, my thought would simply be 'that person is wearing perfume', or, if they have sprayed liberally, it would be 'is that worth the headache?'. although i am of the firm belief that anyone of any age or gender should feel free to wear any fragrance so long as they enjoy it, i picture someone wearing blood berry as a woman in her late twenties or early thirties wearing high-waisted pants, upper layers of her hair tied into a bun. at the end of its short lifespan, it remains in line with my previous descriptions, only with a last breath of tart. light, floral, sharp scents are likely forever to be a complete nothingburger for me.

I couldn’t make up my mind about this one at first, but after smelling fragrances like Cirque du Soleil there’s honestly no going back for me. Blood Berry just smells artificially sweet in a way I really don’t enjoy. Which is funny because Heretic uses natural materials, but somehow this still gives me the vibe of one of those cheap holiday bath and body gift sets relatives buy when they don’t know what else to get you. You know the ones, vaguely fruity, vaguely “something,” but ultimately kind of hollow and disappointing even as a kid. It’s not super strong or offensive, but the more I smelled it up close the more unpleasant it became. I kept waiting for something darker, richer, or more atmospheric to happen and it just... didn’t. Sadly this one isn’t for me.

I made an account just for this perfume it is genuinely just the scent of really, really nasty soap lol if you picture expired bath and body works that is what I would describe this as, I don't get the berry scent at all, and it's very disappointing as someone who really likes Heretic's perfumes

This is a floral mess. "Berry" does not belong in the title. I gave this three tries and each time it disappointed me. if you LOVE roses, this would be a love. if you wanted a berry melange, not so much.
