24 Faubourg

It smells like the most luxurious soap only the rich could afford. It is old money in a bottle. Dated and yet somehow timeless, because it doesn't need to keep up with the trends. It smells like generations of family inherited wealth and sophistication. Coco Mademoiselle, Flowerbomb, La Vie Est Belle- these are all scents that will come and go. And 24 Faubourg will outlive them all in her gold filigree. She is sure of herself and has never needed to seek the approval of others, especially not the mass market. I could never wear this. At least not where I'm at yet in life. But I want a bottle anyways, just to admire it and smell it and be transported into a different lifetime. I smelled this and went "Now that is a Woman." I mean, I'm a woman too, but dang. This is the boss lady of fragrances. This is what you want for an interview, a promotion, to wear for a birth in the family or wedding, or even funeral. This is signature scent material. No question about it. This is the one that Woman would go to for any major occasion in life. A fragrance to last a lifetime. And she'd have an endless supply of every single product available of this scent, with not a single worry about cost. Now it's not worn to make any bold or controversial statements. A confident lady never needs to shout to be heard, and this perfume doesn't either. It dances on the skin and in the air of the wearer. It's the kind of fragrance that lends itself well to being sprayed on a silk scarf or cashmere sweater, letting its scent effortlessly waft in and out of the wearer's atmosphere. I smell a myriad of floral notes, but all of their animalic* (that naturalistic smell in their wild habitat that flowers take on) or offensive compounds have been eliminated. The orange blossom is clean, the hyacinth and gardenia (rather I detected lily) are green and crisp, the amber is as clear cut as the crystal bottle its fragrance rests in. Don't let the amber color of its aged liquid fool you. There's nothing "oriental" or even hinting at "erotic" about this scent. A woman who wore this scent while committing seduction would never need to put on an elaborate show to attract her mate, she is just unapologetically true to herself and in touch with every aspect of her body and mind, and she knows how to use it for what she wants. I've heard so many people describe scents as ones that they can't wear, but "admire", and I never understood that until now. I wondered how one could appreciate something that doesn't work on their skin as a good perfume. What smells good to me had to smell good on me and for me. This has changed my outlook on perfumery: It's my Shalimar! Although it does smells too rich for me- I'd feel like a lowly commoner dressed in royalty's clothes for the day. And the people I live around and currently work with just wouldn't get this scent. They'd probably accuse it of being that "O" word and I couldn't bear myself to allow such disrespect for a timeless glamour. A small bottle or mini size would ensure I can always admire and appreciate this fragrance whenever I please. I'm thrilled that I've discovered this not-so-hidden gem.

So I was 17 when this came out. My mom just left the mall and brought this home to me and says.. Princess Diana wears this!!! It came with a beautiful sheer orange sachet with the hermes logo on the bottom of it. When I first smelled it I really liked it ,it was different then the scents I had on my dresser. Fragrances like poison, anais, anais. Samsara, beautiful, ralph lauren purple square bottle with gold cap. Colors by Benetton , paris ysl etc.. It wasnt just because it was so beautiful in its presentation the etched bottle with the brushed gold cap. It wasn't even that a princess wore it. I just really liked it. I wore it everyday to school till i graduated and bought another bottle a few mos later. I didn't know about perfumes like I do now. But I did know I didnt like loud florals. Faubourg was floral but loved what ever was in it tamming it down from becomming heady. I believe its the orange blossom. I still have my 2nd bottle and it smells just as good as it did in the 90s I get compliments on it all the time and ironically enough by young girls. So much for the old lady comments. I can honestly say ive never had anyone come to me and say you smell like a rich old lady from the 90s. These girls complimenting me weren't even born yet to think they knew what vintage even smelled like.haha I'll tell you the modern scents that smell vintage and old lady now any narcisso Rodriguez and chloe fragrances. Not bashing them I like alot if them, there nostalgic to me and hugs from my grandma's. Chloe love story to much for me that gets in my eyes and mouth very sharp to me. But explain why some florals are sharp and others don't bother me. Hubigant Quelque le fleurs !! love that one too my great grandmother wore that and I still rock it today first niche fragrance I ever had before niche was even a thing that is the strongest perfume ever!! Another floral that does not bother me. It's all in your chemistry. I will always have this fragrance its a special scent and I feel good that I get it. I hope you will get it too.

Both my no1 and no2 perfume were discontinued in the same year, my beloved Westwood boudoir then this beauty, I was completely gutted, anyway, the relaunched it and and I’m so glad it’s still The same, exactly like I remember, sometimes they change the original version and you can be disappointed I don’t know where I found this perfume. Maybe I found it when I was when I was doing babysitting around 2002, I was given a little bit that was left in a bottle and the person I was doing babysitting for gave me some, I was captured 25 years later and after a relaunch this is still a dream for me and I’m so glad to have one of my originals back This perfume is so yellow. There is a slight peachy undertone, with a mild spice, most of my perfume have a spicy hit, which I love, but this is mild in comparison to my usual fragrance, at the moment I have been using fakkah Rose and Khamrah, and the coco intense, which doesn’t have the usual amount of spice I like Regarding the 24 F, It definitely is a perfume for an older woman, at least a woman in her 40s, it has the smell of establishment and experience so I feel this is not a younger woman’s fragrance I’m 54 and I have been wearing it since I was in my early 30s, maybe this is a younger woman’s scent after all, let all woman of all ages experience this scent on the body This was love at first sniff. Unfortunately this was discontinued for a couple of years or so ago, back in around 2020-ish and I was devastated, but now it’s back again and I’ve just purchased my first bottle since I found it has been re-released and I am definitely still besotted It is everything I remembered. This is for a woman who is strong and independent, I feel she is a single woman, living her best life and beholden to no one, this perfume is me and I am she.

This is how you do an old money floral with personality, in a way that is enjoyable and intriguing without needing to be the main character. This is the character who everyone knows, but nobody realizes is running the show until the series finale. This is Lucille Bluth in her greatest moments. Though this fragrance is not one of my 6 or so signature scents which express who I am in different contexts, it is such a well crafted classic that I will return to it every now and then. I discovered this around 2000, and have delightful memories of the grandmothers of my Dad's small working class town sniffing me out at the post mass, Italian food extended family dinners and complimenting me, all of us embraced in a cloud of Coco, Angel, Spellbound, furniture made from actual wood, and rich red Sunday sauce with pecorino romano. The standout notes are hyacinth, iris, a truly well played touch of gardenia, ylang ylang, amber, and sandalwood. In true Hermes fashion, I always sense at least a whisper of leather. I didn't even recognize the hyacinth because it's so well balanced and does not at all smell like an Easter bouquet. But this scent isn't really about the individual notes so much as how they all come together. It's a warm sophisticated floral with good sillage, but not a hot one, so it *can* be worn in summer but just a light mist. In my mind there is no greater, more comforting symphony of scent than a grandmother perfume. The only reason to ever avoid them in my mind is in situations where people might be sensitive, like work, school, medical, etc. I could not be more thrilled from the time I was as young as I can remember, to be told or even just know that my scent imbues that feeling to those around me. In a world where anyone can be sexy, be a nonna.

Today’s SOTD is Hermes 24 Faubourg EDP. Does it contrast pretty stunningly with my decidedly casual beat up jeans and a tee for working at home? You bet. Did I suffocate a Lyft driver this morning when I didn’t expect to have to use a car service? Possibly. For the record, I believe that my bottle hails from 2002, before the bigger IFRA regulations. Hermes recycles the numbers so it could theoretically be from 2012 (it was purchased as “vintage” in 2017ish), but given that the big reformulations started in 2010/2011, and my bottle is relatively dark in color compared to the lighter reformulations 2002 is my best guess. If someone has a 2012 bottle of edp and can send me a photo for comparison, I would appreciate it! 24 opens on me with creamy white florals - gardenia and orange blossom, mainly. In the first half hour or so, I also get green stems and it is honestly, just so so lovely. About two hours in now and while I get a whiff of the creamy white florals, the oak moss and patchouli come in and gives the fragrance both a bit of heft and lightness and you get a drier chypre-floriental thing going on. I’m on four hours now and it’s mostly the same - but I do catch maybe a little vanilla and/or amber. I’ve seen comparisons to vintage Ysatis and that seems right. Do check the Kafkaesqueblog’s two part blog post for a gorgeous review of both the vintage (edp and edt) and modern 24 Faubourgs - and bottle dating advice to boot. Despite being released in 1995, 24 Faubourg feels like a big shouldered powerhouse 80s white floral. I’m sure most consider it very feminine, but I think it would be absolutely stunning on a man.

Years ago and early on in my fragrance loving days I used to pop into my local department store every lunch break from work to smell all the different perfumes in there, it is one of my favourite things to do in the whole world, but since covid it seem fragrance sampling like this has kind of come to an end 😞 I was always fascinated by this one, it looked so classic and like something only wealthy women would wear, and the smell of it from the bottle was stunning. I always wanted to get some but felt it was too different from all the gourmands and popular perfumes I liked back then. I also learned this was one of Diana, Princess of Wales’ favourites and as a huge fan of her I was even more intrigued. Many years later I tried this through a monthly perfume subscription. It is beautiful and smells heavenly in the air but somehow doesn’t quite suit my skin and I am heartbroken. It is so classy and just smells like a fresh floral bouquet. I suspect it’s the hyacinth that doesn’t suit me. It smells too green and a little sour on me and I don’t get the sweetness or Amber others talk of. I bought a bottle anyway because I was so fascinated by this perfume but ended up selling. I really regret that as I fear this might be discontinued, I cannot find it anywhere 😢 Isn’t it strange, despite this not working for me I cannot give up the idea of it and would still buy a bottle of it tomorrow if I could, it’s a real classic, and if it works on your skin chemistry it smells incredible. If it smelt like it does in the air on my skin it would be my signature, without a doubt.

24 Faubourg is one of the classical, all-time favourites fragrances on my dresser. I have bought and re-bought it so many times... I recall buying it the first time when I was quite young, back in 1996 a few months after it was first issued (first I found a vial in a magazine and off I went to buy the full bottle, so much I was enthralled). Wearing it I wanted to make a statement - in fact I did as I was receiving loads of compliments, also because it was a new fragrance - I wanted to state “hey, here I am, a grown up girl that need to state her femininity”. I found this frag was representing me well, even at that young age. At the time the frag was a tad stronger and havier on the orange /ylang (sweeter and deeper). But the current formulation is splendid as well. I do enjoy it very much. Let me say that I am an "amber, orange blossom, tuberose, jasmine, citrus, iris, gardenia, oriental" lover: this fragrance has all these elements, elegantly structured & played in a sophisticated way. It starts fresh and citrusy - to boost your freshness, and then develops in a more complex and deep way, with white flowers, neroli... The drydown is powdery, lightly oriental, cuddly with vanilla and sexy with patchouli. The drydown is what I love best in this fragrance... it smells clean, classy & sophisticated, elegant and feminine and with a distinct personality. I only use it in winter days, to cheer me up. It definitely is a mood lifter. But to me, it’s really a milestone in the history of classical perfumery.

I had to wait until the winter months to truly test out this fine, sophisticated fragrance. I received a sample in the fall months but I could tell it was not the right season. It had something off-putting or tiny bit too sharp in the florals. But now in the winter energy, it is a perfect floral for the winter months. It is uplifting and strengthening, flowery but still wintery. Somehow it subtly strengthens me and puts me in a good mood. The ingredient that I felt was too sharp for any other time of year, now is experienced rather as a deepening, maybe musky. I don't know. The opening is light and floral and very happy, the middle notes are strongly soapy somehow but quickly moves more deeply into a more musty, warmer, heavier, somewhat spicier scent. I will continue to experiment with the sample and I'm very likely to go ahead and buy a bottle for winter; early, deep winter and late winter. I do know that it won't be my only winter perfume, but one of, so that when I'm in the particular mood for this one ... To me it's not a private life perfume or a romantic perfume, more something I would wear leaving the house or for being socially active. I noticed that when I get some of this perfume on my clothing, it does not smell the same as it does on the skin. When I smell it off my clothes, I don't like it, really not. So I have decided not to purchase after all. It's like wearing one perfume on my skin and whatever has rubbed off on my shirt smells differently, a smell I don't like. Oh well.

Orange blossom in a more imposing, stylized version of herself. This starts with an embryo of greatness when the opening burps out THAT orange blossom with indolic abandonment and salty breath being pricked by an astringent hyacinth, a couturier pinching a rich costumer on purpose so she stays still while in a fitting. Drunk on flowers, amber and class, this is perforated all the way through by the rusty gold coin glimmer of old money, Paris Faubourg Saint Germain during the Second Empire, the little last hamlet of Noblisse Oblige aristocracy, Proust's Duchess of Guermantes social commentary, the honey derived from bees, Bee being the herald of those that can trace their line back to the Merovingian Kings, Klimt's goldsmith phase crafting gold cocoons for lovers so they can take shelter from wars, it is all bottled up in here, a conserve from time long lost. This isn't all ranks and monocules, it is also smiling warm, as warm as Hermes can get, the bridge afternoon of a lady that is playfully twisting her diamond earrings and drinking orange liqueur- with thoughts ostracized from the society saloons, probably about books and dogs and how she can't wait to cuddle her children at night but in the meanwhile carrying a big golden coat of arms with a dramatic white floral motto. You expect an inheritance but you get a bosomy hug instead and in perfume at least, that smells better.

When it comes to perfumes, I'm mostly focused on softness rather than attractiveness, which is increasing with my age .It doesn't mean that I don't have any mass pleasing perfumes in my wardrobe.I bought a lot of them once a time. In case of perfume selection, I always keep it in my mind that whether the scent profile will go with me or not.But the fragrance which I am taking about today, it holds all the softness, attractiveness and everything in a bottle. This is 24 Faubourg by HERMES. My one is Eau De Toilette version. I took the picture long back ago , when there was the season of "Shiuli" ( Night flowering jasmine), which starts to bloom at the beginning of fall. This is my first fragrance which makes me fall in love with hyacinth. Hyacinth has a very sharp green floral smell. But in this fragrance, hyacinth makes a great bond with bergamot and orange blossom. So the opening is floral green and mild citrusy. Over time, this turns into a green powdery floral scent because in the dry down, I get a good amount of sandalwood. This one is my scent for fall, winter and spring, because in these seasons it plays well with the nature and my skin. Where do I begin. 24 Faubourg was my first venture into the House of Hermes back when it was released in the 90's. It does not disappoint! I have had several people stop me on the street to ask me what I am wearing. It is a lovely white floral. In 2010, I was fortunate enough to travel to Paris, my one and only time so far. One of the places I wanted to visit was the Hermes flagship store located at 24 Faubourg. While there I purchased another Hermes fragrance as my souvenir, since I already had this one at home. I picked up Kelly Caleche EDP, and it is still in my top 3. I told the lovely sales lady that 24 Faubourg had been my favorite for probably 15 years. She GAVE me the pure perfume, EDP samples, a refillable purse atomizer and additional samples of other fragrances as well! I couldn't begin to calculate the total spend if I had purchased each piece myself. My little Hermes orange shopping bag was overflowing. One of the best memories from my trip, to be sure. In my opinion this fragrance is a masterpiece. I will never be without it. I consider it my signature scent and have done so for well over 20 years. It is elegant and complex. I have heard it referred to as smelling like a "Rich French Lady", which I am not. Others describe it as a fragrance for formal evenings. Not for me. I wear it whenever I want. 24 Faubourg is eternal.

EDITED Like so many, I bought this after reading that this was Princess Diana's signature scent, post-divorce. Of course, that's unverified gossip, but it makes sense. This is a gorgeous, lively, intensely romantic and womanly scent. It's radiant, white-golden, and happy. This is a multifaceted fragrance. Yes, it is a "white floral" bouquet in some ways. But there is also a symphony of perfectly ripe peaches, citrus, grapes, and bananas. Unspecified white flowers create a pillowy cloud around these fruits. There is also that strange, lovely sourness at the very opening - almost fermented. It definitely makes me envision those grand, 5 foot tall fresh flower arrangements you see at truly luxurious hotel palaces. But more interesting - you can almost smell the green stems *just beginning* to turn mushy in the water. I think the hyacinth is responsible for a lot of the nuance going on in this fragrance. It does have moments of feeling sweaty or overripe. (real hyacinths smell to me of s*m*n) There is vetiver here too. Finally - the vintage pre-2001 reformulation is almost a different fragrance to the version in stores today. The current bottles are lovely, and even more sour, but also very synthetic by comparison, with a tendency toward cloying. Vintage bottles smell very natural, and I wouldn’t hesitate to wear in summer.

A mature, but not old, decidedly luxurious, but still suitable for day wear, beautiful, beautiful scent. I got a sample of this in my 20's, and wore it when I dressed up occasionally, but now in my 30's I bought a huge bottle of the EDP and spray it all the time, usually just for me. I love to spray heavily (like 5 sprays) right before bed, and snuggle up in a delicious cloud of hyacinth, but when I wear it in public, I do 2 sprays MAX, because the sillage is enormous! This is one I don't dare spray more than a tiny half spray if heading into the office. It's not really a scent I would wear out for a night on the town, but perhaps to a dressed-up date to a fancy restaurant. You have to carry yourself a certain way to wear this one. It's for a classy, grown-up, well-dressed and polished woman. It's said it was one of Princess Diana's favorites and she just looks like the type of woman that fits this smell. Very rich, luxurious, clean, bright, understatedly sexy. Somehow manages to have elements of a light breeze on a bright sunny day on top of the burst of hyacinth, and the dry down is very clean, with a vintage sort of element, like a bright library full of old books or a big, well-used art studio with sun streaming through ancient panes of glass.

It is just like a Crystal chandelier in the Baroque ... This is a "modern" Vintage perfume in 1995, I bought Eau Legere. A bottle is very nice, square and white pattern make people think of Hermes famous scarves. 24 Faubourg, named the address of the Hermes headquarters, representing it inherits all Hermes all honors and history, and it is going to our future. Maurice Roucel called 24 faubourg for the Piece of Light. 24 Faubourg is rich, Eau Legere is more lively, thin and greener than EDP, and does not losing elegant mature feelings. Eau Legere lacks a lot of amber. Sandalwood, pirati and vanilla with a rich white flower bouquet, I see a rich lady. It is said that 24 Faubourg is the favorite of Princess of Wales Diana. Luca Turin said 24 Faubourg is like royal wedding carriers. I agree with his comment on the scent, but now, I guess it's a hint, According to Diana private makeup artist, Diana's most common perfume is 24 faubourg. In 1995, it was also the year 24 Faubourg began selling. Diana is on a BBC television programme and admits that her marriage to Charles is about to break down.

You know when you have a new lady boss and she presents herself as very elegant and classy, acting cold and aloof. She keeps her distance and is very commanding. But with time she eases a bit and becomes more approachable. This is 24 F. On my skin 24 F unfolds in 3 stages. For the first two hours it is an amazing hyacinth.it rules with a strong presence. A green waxy floral but not as sharp and biting as in Cabotine. And although it’s not my favorite floral note I truly enjoy it here. For the following 4 hours or so it softens a lot. The protagonist is now the orange blossom which I love; bright, fragrant and slightly sweet. The gardenia is there freshly green and slightly creamy without smelling like coconut as in many more recent perfumes. Another mesmerizing stage. For the last two hours 24F reaches the base notes and is now a very close skin scent; mostly woody and ambery. It is a one of very few fragrances that I consider as proper chypre florals in the absence of oak moss. Rumor has it that Lady D wore 24 F at one stage of her life. It is truly a bottle and juice befitting royalty.

What can I say about this elegant and timeless classic that hasn’t already been perfectly summed up by the two reviewers below me (lookin at you Fenissa and TillyWave)..I can say that I agree 10000%!! I can also say, as someone who normally doesn’t like or even love “vintage” perfumes, I am absolutely enamored with this one. There’s something so crisp, so refreshing and refined here; a marriage of many notes that blend so beautifully and create the most unique fragrance I think I’ve ever encountered (thus far). I was absolutely positive I would hate this just based off the listed notes..hyacinth, ylang ylang, PEACH, gardenia?? This HAD to be dusty and heady. An instant scrubber, right?? WRONG. I was sooooo wrong that my mind couldn’t quite comprehend what my nose had instantly fallen in love with. The most perfect floral I’ve ever smelled. Also? I happened to be wearing Libre Intense when I sampled this for the first time and I’m pretty sure I experienced angel’s singing that day.. it was THAT heavenly. Now my favorite combo. Ever. True story.

I keep returning to this decant. I find 24 Faubourg to be quite a special perfume, my favorite from Hermes so far. I've decided I want a full bottle. Like so many from the great house of Hermes this has a zesty orange opening that smells fantastic. The intense green of the hyacinth mingles beautifully with the honeyed orange flower and jasmine. The effect is a bit bitter and sour, but simultaneously rich, heady, and sweet. This is a strange but absolutely perfect balance of woody/green and floral/sweet, what a fantastic idea. It took me a few wears to take note of it, but I realized it has a chypre floral base. The chypre base is woody and somewhat soapy but not clean. There's a warm, raunchy note in here, I think it's ambergris but I am unsure. I will probably have to write a better review in the future, but I had to tell you all that I love this one. EDIT: I do not think this smells like Boucheron at all, they are very different.

I absolutely love all hermes perfumes you wont see me giving a bad reveiw and the reason is that all hermes perfumes have quality. A quality that doesnt shout out here I am im wearing perfume. They all become much more skin scents and personal. I do not get the old lady vibes and if anyone does then they feel like this for all white flowery powdery scents. Its a classic scent of white flowers with a hint of sweetness and a hint of powder. Very elegant and fragile scent. If you like coco mademoiselle then you will like this. I can say that that coco mademoiselle is more fruity whilst this one is far more floral and far more of a skin scent. I personally love it and im not a huge flower fan but this I find absolutely refined and I cant pin point all the notes since they blend and compliment eachother elegantly. I do not find this perfume to give me headaches like most floral perfumes and I definitely do not find it boring.

This is such a gorgeous classic floral. I’m a floral fan and I blind-bought this, it was a successful purchase. I think if you like florals and you’re familiar with classic perfumes such as Quelques Fleurs and L’Heure Bleue, you will like this. It is that classic “big floral” style that is very “of an era” but it does not smell super dated, at least not to me. It has a more classic air compared to more recent perfumes, but not to the extent that I would be uncomfortable wearing it out and about. I will say it has a more mature vibe - no, absolutely not “grandma” but I think this would have felt a little much for me in my twenties. I’m ok wearing this now in my early 30s. It does also have an elegance and stateliness about it that makes me think of special dressy occasions. I definitely don’t see myself wearing this beauty with sweatpants and a t-shirt, it deserves pretty dresses, classy occasions, and nights out.

PERFUME. This is PERFUME, of the most opulent kind (and yes, I have the original from Maurice Roucel). I daringly lavish myself in this sensuous honeyed orange blossom and gardenia, highlighted with green zest and pith, heaving with a luscious and perspiring bouquet. It's not that I must queue up Shania Twain's "Man...I Feel Like a Woman," but this is one of those that let's just say, it's best that I enjoy it for myself. It's just so gorgeous. It grows succulent-peachy with wet jasmine over time, remaining big and stately, until its strong character slightly softens into a plangent reflecting pool of amber. This is one of those that if it were to be chosen as a statement perfume, it would likely take a "strong constitution" (stated in Little Edie Beale's voice) to pull it off, because 24 Faubourg will demand attention—and respect, and if it is not received, the world may very well self-destruct.

Another masterpiece by Maurice Roucel. I agree with all the glowing reviews here. This is gorgeous. Bold. Complex. Timeless. Very French. I have only one thing thing to add. While I wouldn’t dream of calling this a “casual” fragrance, I can’t bring myself to relegate this to formal status. The soapy, salt-tinged orange blossom paired with the dreamy hyacinth read as vintage and modern all at once. I think this can be worn anytime, anywhere. In fact, I’ll probably end up wearing this exclusively with t-shirt and jeans (well accessorized, of course) and I think it fits. There is something about this fragrance that transcends and defies attempts at classification. It is not constrained by the usual dichotomies. If forced to define its character, I would call it polished and aloof, but not stuffy or severe. This just screams of refined taste, and if worn with confidence, it will take you anywhere.

It is a Classic perfume from Hermes and I have read that Princess Diana used to love it. I found it on great discount at my local T J Maxx and grabbed it asap as there was only one there.I sprayed some right when I got back in my car and kept sniffing my wrists at all the red signals...lol. Well, the opening is definitely classic and vintage, not much to my liking but...after few minutes on skin the orange blossom is so vibrant and energetic. Even though its a winter perfume, the orange blossom made me think how good will it feel on a sunny March April day.It is a scent which I imagine some beautiful French queen wearing in 1800's.I can say that its a great vintage perfume which you can still wear to this day for your own happiness as people around you may find it heavy and weird. Only you know that the orange blossom that blooms on your skin gives energy to your soul.

*** I am certainly glad that I did not smell this in the 80's or 90's, because it's right here, right now for me still 2012. I got this 3 years ago. Fifty, 50?? I'm 33 and this is a definite top 3 for me. I do not think I am young, nor do I think I'm old...but then again, I don't think 50 is old either so... I do not find this to be an office scent, I've read that quite a bit in the reviews here... rather, I find this as a "get off the sofa from watching your favorite reality tv show, get dressed for the evening and go out into the evening and enjoy yourself," scent. If I were to smell this on someone in the office, she would need to be the owner or the boss or at very least, really really really, thinks she is... and you'd better watch her because she's on her way up the ladder. Maybe she may take your position, and if she does...she won't be sorry about it. 10/10***

Whoa!!.........This perfume does not mess around! It opens with a burst of "I am here to conquer and I take no prisoners!" 24 Faubourg (vintage) opens with a strong and heavy floral and orange rind. It's so strongly floral that it is almost bitter. This is a mature fragrance and you have to commit to it. There is no playing around with 24. The projection is really far in the beginning and you only need about 2 sprays. It lasts all day as well. It is very classy and most suited to special occasion wear. You can wear it however you like but, I picture a mature lady with a grand hat. I am not that lady but I still plan on wearing it (I already paid for it). We will have to come to an agreement. I might be able to pull it off in the winter. This is a classic perfume that delivers much more than it had to.

Elegance. Old money. Grandmothers jewerly. You studied in the best schools. Danced ballet. Used to attend YSL shows in the past, good times. No problems in your mind. Everything is perfect, no neighbours screaming, you can stay up late, cause you do have to work. You only do charity in the afternoon. You have dozens of Chanel suits and Hermés scarves you have been collecting since the 80s. Your sheets are all perfectly white, soap is scentless. The penthouse is gorgeous but the most important is that you are happy on the inside. You dress mainly in silk and whool. All white and beige.People mention you as that "rich lady" and you pretend not to hear and just smile. You want to go to Paris soon, maybe staying at the Ritz again. They treat you well and you give good tips. Ah, la dolce vita...

Hello from DecoDawn it's June 2023 and I wanted to Review Hermes 24 Faubourg again. The eau de toilette. I have a vintage 100ml bottle which was designed to resemble a silk Hermes scarf gently blowing in a breeze. The bottle is heavy glass Quality. Fragrance is old money, classy, wealth, very Feminine but understated, demure but sexy, the opening is very floral, the heart is warm, the base/dry down is just heaven. One spray will last you hours and hours. Yes this fragrance is expensive and very hard to find sold our everywhere. H24F is so beautiful and well crafted I would say its well worth searching for a small 7ml miniature bottle on ebay before taking the plunge for a full bottle as 100ml edt will easily set you back a couple of hundred quid. But I love it. ❤

A gorgeous floral. Most floral fragrances these days are very kitschy, very sweet and difficult to wear. 24 Faubourg is not one of those fragrances. There is a light sweetness in the background but the floral notes stay solidly in the foreground. Smelling this reminds me of standing in a large flower garden during the Spring while all the flowers are in bloom. It gives one a calming and reassuring vibe. You may wonder why this fragrance has such an odd name, Hermés is located at 24 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, France. 24 Faubourg is best worn Autumn, Winter, Spring, as well as Summer evenings. Longevity for me was over 12 hours and projection was about 6ft (2m). I give this offering from Hermés a solid 5/5.

I am obsessed with hyacinths, so, unsurprisingly, I adore this fragrance. It's like an extremely heavy, sweet & slightly more modern version of my favorite Cristalle EDP. Normally, I'd still find 24 Faubourg far too cloying, heavily floral & almost bubble-gummy, but I compromise by layering the two to lighten it up & get longer wear time from the former as a result. I've read that the late Princess Diana was a huge fan & I'm guessing the only reason she didn't also wear Cristalle was her issue with the two Cs in Chanel's logo. Damn Charles & Camilla for causing her to miss out on it, but at least she had 24 Faubourg. If you have similar taste and a deep love for hyacinths, you must try this immediately.

I love this so much. It smells as if you walk into an expensive florist shop around early spring. I say flower shop as you will smell all the different types of early spring flowers plus their stems and freshly cut juices. Stunning! In a weird way the opening reminds me of 4711 due to the strong bergamot top note and the bitter hyacinth. It blends beautifully with the rest. So imagine you smell 4711 in an expensive flower shop around Feb/March. Whenever I wear this the spring season has officially started. You don't just smell like a flower bouquet with this perfume, no, you smell like the entire flower shop in the best possible way. I love this perfume!

His Majesty the Hyacinth, wonderful flower, prelude to spring, the highest note of this great, historic and masterful fragrance. 24 Faubourg by Hermès is an entrancing symphony, a magnificent floral triumph of great impact, with very delicate citrus and fruity notes of rare balance. The orange blossom and gardenia follow each other without rage, the base notes are amber, enveloping, warm, sensual, enclosing everything in a fragrance that becomes reassuring and powdery as the hours pass. Impetuous sillage in the dry, reassuring and powdery in the dry down, characteristic of luxurious fragrances, duration is worthy of its history. Magnificent fragrance.

I've already reviewed this, but I have to add that this seems to become more beautiful every time I wear it, which isn't that often. No one has described this as sexy, perhaps because it is also very ladylike, but I think it is also hypnotic and that is what makes it like a siren's song on my skin. A GREAT perfume. I just want to add - please, PLEASE stop using the "This perfume reminds me of" space for flankers or different concentrations! I think it goes without saying that they will have similarities and it would be more interesting and useful if other fragrances were used. Just a suggestion, though I know it's not going to change anything.

A clear, true floral. The heaviness is there, but it's a floral heaviness, a big bouquet thrust towards you. The sweetness is the sweetness of flowers, but it is very sweet. Smells well made and well balanced. A fragrance chosen with thought by the wearer. The ylang ylang open with a jasmine heavy dry down and a base so well blended you can't pick out the individual notes reminds me of Ysatis. If I had money to burn I'd buy both just to have them, but there's not enough difference between them for me to go full bottle on 24 Faubourg since it is more than twice the price without much separating the two. I do very much like it though.

So beautiful. Bright, optimistic and perfect. It exudes this sense of confidence and security as though everything is settled and perfect. If you want to give the impression or have the feeling that you have your life together and you achieved everything you set out to do, wear this fragrance. Truly elegant, timeless, simple and feminine. I agree with those who said this is a woman and not a girl. It has the resemblance of a maternal smile almost, a beautiful, established and revered lady dressed in a tailored, white pencil skirt suit. It doesn’t scream but it’s presence is undeniable. One of the best florals I’ve tried.

I'm a big white floral lover and I am absolutely in love with this perfume. I never gave this beauty a try when it was selling in stores. I really don't know why because this is something that I would love right away. Big opulent flowers dripping in amber. It smells rich, classy, and put together. Unfortunately, my husband is not a fan. He thinks it is too heavy and dated, but he respects my right to enjoy it whether he likes it or not. Or as he likes to say, “whatever makes you happy.” Well, this makes me very happy, so I'm going to continue to wear it and enjoy it.

The florals in here are very powdery in warmer months. It makes it too musky and comes off old fashioned. But as the seasons change into autumn, this softens into a nutty (green), comfortable floral scent. The fruit notes become more prominent with maceration, showing this scent in all it's loveliness. Before then, you just get a quick hit and then a LOT of white florals. Thanks to the hyacinth, the powdery middle has a green earthiness before flowing into the perfectly balanced base. I can't wait for the peach to become stronger so it wakes up the orange blossom!

This is so comforting and cozy!! I usually hate white floral scents, and I love this! I wear it and I feel like an upper class, power suit wearing '80s/'90s female executive. It's so, so formal and classy, but it has a soft and delicate side to it too, that I find to still age really well even though I was born after this perfume was released! It's like a sweet, juicy citrus tropical cocktail on a bed of more classic and formal white florals. The combination works really well and is definitely worth a sample especially if you usually hate white florals like I do!

Masterpiece. The most timeless, elegant soap imaginable with endless delicate layers of light, harmony, natural essences, flowers, and amber, then a hint of vetiver smoothed by the richest of sandalwoods. The vetiver dances gracefully like warm incense and hides gracefully behind layers of sophisticated feminine beauty. This fragrance is clean because soap is clean. It’s a little dirty because the lush florals get ripe and bring in a sour laundry vibe. It’s a question of just how floral you want to be. It’s classic because it never gets old and it has character.

Hollywood glamour. Old money. Silk headscarf, gloves and oversized dark sunglasses. Classy is as classy does, and you can't get much more classy than this. I agree with TillyWave's comments below mine. Ms Faubourg is very neglected at this moment in time, but that somehow makes her all the more exclusive. For me, she is the epitome of sophistication. Perfect for Winter/Spring. Heavy on the hyacinth and the audacity. Wear this when you want to be a bad rich bitch like Joan Collins. P.S The bottle is gorgeous too, and one of the nicest in my collection.

24 Faubourg by Hermès will always be one of my favourite's. A beautifully timeless scent with a soft but also bold smell. My Grandmother has worn this perfume ever since it came out in 1995 (?) and she has loved it since. It truly has something special to it and it's one of those that really never gets boring. I do think this is more of a perfume for more elegant and sophisticated women and for events such as dinners, family occasions and formal events. Love, love, love Hermès for this. Oh, and it was one of Princess Diana's favourite's!

I remember ever since I was a kid, my mother never changed her perfume (she's a huge collector by the way) but this perfume is her signature smell, I'll never forget the times when I sneak into her room and spray couple of times and leave lol, also I used to lowkey steal the perfume that was the most used.. I truly recommend this perfume, it brings me joy and happiness honestly, and reminds me so much of the good old days!

Vintage edp is a beautiful sweet white floral with a chypre base to give it a sense of classical sophistication. It has a warmth and coziness to it that I love in perfume (Bois des Iles, Parfum Sacre, and Under My Skin). Easy to like and wear for me. Most modern noses will find it challenging. It has a grandness and powerful sillage that are no longer in fashion in mainstream perfumery, so sample before purchasing.

Soft very soft and faint. Maybe i have an older bottle but i'm disappointed with this one. I was expecting an old fashioned flower bomb which would remind me of the chique dressed older French ladies. It's old fashioned and chique but very weak at least on my skin. Once in a while i catch the smell on the back ground like a whisper in the air. Love the smell but for me, a 80 flower bomb lover, a bit too timide.

قبل كل شئ أشكر الصديق الفايسبوكي ( على ذكراك أعيش العمر ) الذي كان له الفضل في اكتشافي لعطر فوبورغ 24 هيرميس . صراحة لقد ابهرني هذا العطر بجمال رائحته وغرابته وفخامته ونقائه ...... ورغم أنه مصنف للنساء الا أنني وبفضل بعض المكونات التي اعشقها مثلا خشب الصندل زهرة الهايسنت والجاردينيا والمسك رغم انه غير معلن وجدت فيها ضالتي وفي رأيي لاباس ان يستعمل الرجل من وقت الى اخر رائحته محايدة يشعرك بالثبات والوقار .

This is a classic. White and yellow and blue florals, layered with soft peach and oranges, resin and amber, jasmin and patch: such a beauty! Sillage just enough to leave elegance and sophistication in your wake, warm longevity assured. Stunning (themed) bottles reminiscent of the carrés complete the distinctive package. If you like timeless and soapy and classy: a scent to have, wear and relish in.

Classy. Sophisticated. Old money. Hyacinth dominant. Easily one of the greatest florals of all time. I feel it is more suited to cold months and elegant situations. I'm being romanced at a pre-Christmas party this evening and this is what I'm wearing. I want to stand out in a sea of La Vie Est Belle while wearing a fitted black dress, heels and a faux fur coat. 24 Faubourg will carry me there.

I really love this perfume. I was a long time lingerer/sprayer and never a purchaser. This year, I took the plunge - I have no regrets! This perfume is so lush, so floral, so sensual, and so so so beautiful. This, for me, is pure femininity. I can see why this was a favourite of Lady Di. When I wear this, I feel luxurious and beautiful. This will be a permanent member of my collection!

A gorgeous white floral scent. To me, the orange blossom is the most prominent ... Very airy, dreamy, creamy infusion of white florals. It’s very classy, mature and elegant. As it settles, it becomes slightly powdery, almost comforting ... It has the old world charm ... something that I always admire. Have not even heard of this perfume until one day came across it on eBay for a very appealing price (way less than everyone else had it for). The seller had good rating, the bottle looked legit. Fragrantica reviews convinced me - I should try it. So happy I did! It’s such a long lasting beauty! I place this perfume in the league of Estée Lauder’s Beautiful and Chanel N5.

Opens green and zesty, settles into a richly honeyed white floral bouquet of gardenia, jasmine, and orange blossom. There's a mossy chypre-like feel when it really starts to dry down, but the florals take the main stage. A perfect springtime fragrance, very strong and lasts all day on skin and double that on clothes. Definitely reminds me of Boucheron EDP.
