Jour d'Hermes Parfum

Yay! I found my bottle in the back of one of my stashes. I'm having difficulty digesting that the top notes are lemon and grapefruit. It seems far sweeter to my nose. If Hermes clarified "sugared lemon", that'd sound credible It's gorgeous, and one cannot help but feel Tres Chic. Could it be the gardenia is clobbering the sharp citrus? The harmony of the notes is perfect and I couldn't imagine any tweaks to improve the all consuming experience that Jour d'Hermes is. I'm not getting the woodsy notes yet, but I sprayed it on 15 minutes ago. My bottle is labeled spray perfume on the bottom label, and parfum on the front label. I think it's ~9 years old. Aesthetically my bottle differs from the pictured bottle in a couple ways. I suspect that the bottle on the top is 100ml/3.3 ounces and it's clearly a dab on extrait. Mine is 1.6 ounces/50 ml and a spray tester. My bottle has the gold choker on the neck, but no gold thread. I don't wear this in hot weather because it just seems to be such an attention grabber... like "here I am". In the fall, as Goldilocks said "it's just right. LOL.

Just received this and had it on for a few hours. No woody notes, or green. No "white flowers", just a soft gardenia and a tuned down grapefruit note. It is pleasant, but I most definitely get better results in both longevity and sillage from the Absolu. I would have to layer them both to get the perfect balance, and at the price tag the pure parfum goes it's a big disappointment. I was expecting way more projection, intensity in the accords, but they are subdued and too timid. Personally, a pure parfum so weak it's not worthy the price. But as it goes, I have them both now and will layer pure over absolu. It's a 5 out of 10 from me: keep your money and buy more absolu if you enjoy the woody grapefruit with faint flowery vibes. I honestly cannot believe how weak this extract is. Btw... interestingly, Jour pure works wonderfully with Bottega Veneta (the orginal). Try to believe! :)

I like Jour d'Hermes in its EDT expression which was effervescent, bright and full of spring flowers - but I found it somewhat leaning feminine because of the florals. When I chance upon a great opportunity to purchase the Parfum (extrait) at a steal, I could not help but blind buy and it truly is divine - the citrus is fuller and more persistent in the Parfum expression and the floral notes are more grounded : the Parfum feels like a walk amidst a flowering garden with the florals and the greens, instead of the EDT which feels more like a walk around an empty room with a bouquet from this garden. It may not have astounding silage but people around you will definitely enjoy it and it holds its own against others such as Tuscan Leather when I wore them at the same time with application to different parts of my body.

Absolutely divine ! I have the original edp but this version is much better. Less sharp, creamy , smooth, elegant . Sheer beauty. Smells like a crisp spring day with perfectly blue sky and pure sunshine, young green vegetation and fresh flower and some citrus fruit . ( think pomelo ). If I was to reduce the romantic imagery, and simplify everything, I'd say it smells like pomelo and orange blossom and sweet pea. A simple,yet glorious fragrance, natural smelling, elegant, youthful, timeless. Good silage and decent lasting power. Worth every penny!

I love the scent of this perfume, and decided to try the parfum after reading the reviews and finding the eau de parfum to be too short lasting. The parfum has a slightly more intense scent, and it's lovely. On me, it has absolutely no staying power. I have to apply it heavily for the scent to last more than an hour or two. It's so pretty while it lasts, but it's impractical. My boyfriend's opinion was very pretty, but just not quite the whole thing.

This is a gorgeous scent, the drydown is lingering and amazing. Pure parfum is a beautiful skin scent, the citrus and grapefruit turn almost like a creamy apricot with a hint of lemon zest, or like after I've been in the pool and sun all day, smells like sun-warmed skin. My husband said it smelled like money, fresh 100 dollar bills, he loves it. Projection isn't amazing, but I wear fragrances for me, and can smell it all day and into the night.

I originally bought the EDP version but found the grapefruit note too strident on my skin, and the whole experience slightly sour. The pure parfum is another story entirely. It’s as though all the harsh elements in the EDP had been stripped, leaving the pure essence to radiate brightly. Fragrancenet have it for a pretty good price at the moment, even with the dismal exchange rate our battered dollar is achieving.

This smells beautiful on me! I get citrusy tanginess at first, and then a soft blossoming of lovely flowers. Toward the end,I get a soft comfortable musky scent with the flowers. I can't stop sniffing my wrist!

I have Jour d'Hermès Extrait de parfum & Cadenas Or sprayer. 7,5 ml This is outrageously expensive and not good value. It is also very pretty and very contemporary. Recognisable Jean-Claude Ellena style. Quality Italian sorbet (apricot orange?) melting in the sun with non indolic gardenia.

I believe that's one of the scents which smell like holidays in the Mediterranean area - but not necessarily on the beach - rather in a garden by the beach. The citrus zest last longer than the first 5 seconds, which is adorable, but the exotic sweetnes comes out soon and they co-exist for a longer while. This is the magical moment - I feel as if I had layered 2 contrasting scents over one another, while it is still one and the same perfume! Finally, some kind of weird, sweet lemon remains and this is where the magic comes to an end and all that I'm left with is the aroma of quince jam. I don't think I would like my JOUR to smell like this;-/

This is a class act perfume. Not too vintage white florals nor too modern, Just beautiful with a soft musky base
