Le Jardin de Monsieur Li

LUCKY GARDEN of CIVILIZATION. There's an allegory here, of a wild & bestial nature tamed by luck, and pressed into service of a well-mannered Chinese garden. Signed by perfumer Jean Claude Ellena, this solar jasmine scent opens with a forward kumquat note with its tart, sweet, citrus-lemon-pine & bitter nuances enhanced by aromatic mint. A picture of civilized behaviour, kumquat is symbolic of good luck in China, where it's often kept as a houseplant and given as a gift during the Lunar New Year. Almost as if to bestow luck the minty kumquat continues nearly throughout, acting as a lid to a clipped & declawed jasmine heart, resting on a tree-sap base. Here in the heart, Hermes DNA is present, and the jasmine is a tamed & trimmed version of the animalic and musky variety. Some scents eliminate this animalic facet of jasmine, but Jean-Claude Ellena takes this bestial side of jasmine and makes it conform inside the Chinese garden. Rather than being "molested against the wall" by a salty animal hide, we get lucky pennies thrown into a koi pond, wet rock and contours flous white-floral up to a civilized baby-wipes note. The result is a very unsettling but civilized jasmine scent, with a feeling that chaos may brake loose in the next unfolding, and yet it remains poised on the precipice of an imagined descent into a savagery. Contrast to Jour d'Hermes Parfum Hermes: These are not the same, although LJdML could be considered a sheer Jour d'Hermes, or an 'Eau Fraiche' in the Jour d'Hermes line. The white-floral/jasmine is similarly musky & animalic, although Jd'H dries down a lot sweeter on the skin, and while LJdML does sweeten as it dries down, it doesn't go as far, settling out at the baby wipes note sometimes associated with jasmine. There are similarities in the openings where both open with a musky citrus and both seem like the work of Jean Claude Ellena. Jour d'Hermes outperforms. Overall: This wasn't love at first sniff for me, but I've come to appreciate and enjoy it. Although it was released in 2015, it's still a contemporary and sophisticated approach to a light wearing summer jasmine scent with above average performance - no one will mistake this for a body spray. This is the perfect scent to wear when feeling in need of a a little luck or a civilizing influence. It's a love for me. Jasmine lovers. enjoy! Update 06/25/24: Wowza, this is smelling really good today. It really shines in warm weather, with a sparkling clear quality that isn't bubbly like a carbonated beverage, but yet cool, clear and citrus-aromatic-floral. Love it. 10/10.

Having been a Mediterranee devotee for years, I finally got my hands on a sample of this. It's a personal record for shortest time between sample and FB order. The opening initially, for approximately 2 seconds, had an astringent alcohol tone that didn't bode well but instantly vanished and was never heard from again. The rest of the opening is a delicate interplay of soft kumquat and even softer jasmine, the least indolic jasmine I've ever had the fortune to experience. It never veers into laundry territory despite that gentle hint of almost - but not quite! - soapy jasmine. Aromatic mint, fresh and cool but still gentle and well blended, joins the party next and it begins to develop into that "zenlike" vibe often referenced. Oh, and I dislike jasmine in almost every scent I've ever tried. I love it in this. I can only assume JCE sold his soul in return for magical powers. Once the aquatic note makes its entrance, the fragrance has me vividly recalling an ornamental water feature my neighbours had when I was a kid; that scent of cool water running over pebbles, tinged by the grass growing around it, is a core memory I didn't even know I had. There's nothing in the notes to give away what grounds this fragrance, but there is a depth to it on the dry down that is, perhaps, faintly woody and aromatic. It never loses that dreamy, meditative quality. Projection and sillage pretty much don't exist, and longevity is slightly worse than others of the line, but despite the poor performance, I really, REALLY had to have this. It won't irritate or offend anybody nearby, mostly because they won't be able to smell it. You can wear it at night to maximise that dreamy mood, and/or... all the usual suspects (office-friendly, spring/summer, you know the standard Jardin recommendations). It's a fictional dusk in springtime, dancing close to your skin as the sun disappears. Who wouldn't want to smell like that? Also, because it isn't a hit like Sur Le Nil, you can get it waaaay cheaper than any of the others in the line. That did help my decision to buy it!

“I remembered a smell of ponds, a smell of jasmine, a smell of soppy stones, of plum trees, kumquats and hulk bamboos. It was all there, and in a ponds there were even canopy usually operative towards their hundredth birthday.” — Jean-Claude Ellena. I was able to buy this latest creation this weekend and the good thing is that it matched my expectations : it is a very typical JC Ellena creation and unfortunately his last one at Hermes. It is definitively part of the whole Jardin family and he brought good tribute to what we could imagine as a typical Chinese Garden. Don't expect that typical fizzling almost Fanta kind of citrus opening, it is more a citrus whisper. I definitively recognize the kumquat aroma, after that soft opening, you can smell that typical green body with a non indolic Jasmin, an "aquatic" jasmin interpretation. I don't smell the real mint note, it is more the green, fresh muskiness which Ellena always master to create in his Jardin series, closer to a juicy "fig" note than really mint which would have been too harsh for balancing this very delicate composition. The Kumquat citrus has a bit more sweetness and juiciness than any other citrus note, it gives a little honeyed aspect to this perfume. Some people will be disappointed that this is just a simple & linear perfume but I think JC Ellena wanted to close his chapter of the Jardin by honoring his master pieces in all modesty and not with lot of bravura. It is if he wanted to introduce his successor Christine Nagel already by giving her the opportunity to succeed him in all serenity and softness...Is it a cologne ? No not really : it is a delicate, introvert perfume. A minimalist intimate scent you would like to wear for yourself, allowing you to transcend from the daily routines and bringing some peace in your hectic life.

I went to the shop just to try this perfume I had heard about, just to understand the simplicity of this Chinese garden, but that was already enough. I gave my last money for 30 ml of this. And there comes why this happened... When I sprayed it on my wrist, I went back in 1989 when I was a child. I was at hospital very far from home, I had pain after my leg surgery, I was already sick of that hospital food, it was raining or snowing all the time, I desired to go home, but I couldn't. And then one of nurses gave me that fruit. In 1989, Latvia was in the Soviet Union, there were no exotic fruits. You couldn't just like that walk in a shop and buy them. Even an orange was a miracle then. I held the fruit in my hands, smelled it, admired and couldn't believe how lucky I was. That was a kumquat. Then I started to peel, and I remember this aroma - fresh, a bit bitter, juicy and so uplifting. The scent of life, my ray of light in that awful place. And the opening of this perfume is exactly that aroma! I got tears in my eyes, those memories came back! The sales assistant even asked me if I was OK. Of course, I bought it. Gave all my money, for it's not just a perfume for me. Memories, the kindness of that nurse, those times. The jasmine is present, pure, covered in rain drops. The mint adds some green vibe, makes the perfume more sparkling and fresh. Fresh, slightly bitter, very realistic, uplifting and calming. Simple, but exquisite, very feminine, slightly shy. The aristocracy hidden in a sophisticated simplicity. A real reflection of the secret garden.

I truly admire the fragranticans who are so well versed with scents that they can tell different notes, how well something is blended and how elegant a perfume is - and most of the time how eloquently they can put this into words. I can't. So here's my unrefined commoner's take on this. I love this. This reminds me a lot of D&G's Light Blue and Jo Malone's Wood Sage & Sea Salt. I'm not entirely surprised they're not listed in the "This scent reminds me of..."; that's probably due to the aforementioned unsophisticated nose of mine, i.e. "floral citrus? = smells like Light Blue". But I find this prettier than Light Blue. It lacks the woodsy note and the drydown is a lot more floral in this while the citrus remains at the forefront while I always felt that in Light Blue it (unfortunately) takes a backseat rather quickly. I also find Monsieur Li more refined, more elegant smelling somehow, like a polished version of Light Blue. It's very smooth with its citrus managing a beautiful balancing act between sweet and acidic. It might be the floral note that ensures this quality. I'm not usually a fan of jasmine but in here, it's a very well executed support for the citrus so it can shine at its most gorgeous and pleasing. It's just a beautiful, airy fresh scent perfect for warm weather. Unoffensive and stays close to you. I do find it lasts pretty well for an EdT, especially one from the Jardin line whose longevity is somewhat infamous for being not great.

Well M. Li is a kind and classy guy and it's a privilege to waft into his garden, led gently by the nearly-always-diplomatic M. Duchaufour. Seems like M. Li is a connoisseur and a minimalist, he's some sort of software millionaire with a magical open-air orangery on a vast, immaculately white-tiled roof terrace, with bright mint growing between all the loveliest rarest citrus specimens, everything clipped and tended to within an inch of its life by flunkeys in bright white uniforms. (They come around carefully spritzing everything with droplets of fresh purified water about every 2 hours, which sadly is about as often as you'll have to keep spraying yourself with this to keep this smell idyll going. ) Just fantastic. Clean, crisp, transparent, intensely refreshing. Completely perfect for summer. The kumquat has character without getting too acrid or fermented-fruity, and stays light and un-musky. Doesn't do much in cooler weather; this is one to fight muggy, dirty, urban humidity or raging shimmering heat, not cold or gloom. For those hotter climes, this Jardin is just as great as all the others in the series. Two notes of caution - works better sprayed than dabbed, and it won't live forever - bottles past the expiry dates do lose quite a lot of the zing at the top end of the scent. So just use it up faster! I give it a bow of sincere respect. Merci Monsieur Li, thanks for letting me visit - I would love to drop in again soon.

I find this one particularly hard to describe. Firstly, it's not a typical citrus. The kumquat top note is not acidic/sweet, it's rather bittersweet and herbal. Refreshing, but devoid of any sharpness. The floral accord is delicate and subtle - a very tender white floral touch to round out the fruit. The aquatic note that all Hermès Jardins more or less share, which can be a bit too much for me depending on the weather, does not bother me here. I don't even get it that much, or at least not in the same way. Again, hard to describe. Surprisingly, given its discreet nature, this is one of my most complimented perfumes. The Jardins all seem to have this radiant and diffusive quality about them which gets them noticed, despite them not being strong perfumes per se. Le Jardin de Monsieur Li is different to most things out there - it's kind of quirky, not necessarily immediately likeable, not conventionally "seductive"/particularly feminine either (definitely unisex, as advertised, but also the softest of the Jardins in my opinion); but it is also elegant, pleasant, clean (and not in a sterile way), calm, joyful. It feels somehow golden and warm. I find it most interesting in late winter/early spring, when it's still cold outside. I love catching whiffs of it in the morning chill.

A funny story. The first time I visited Seattle, my iPad was stolen from my hotel room. Fast forward a few years, I am given a sample bottle of this perfume. I forget who gifted it to me but I absolutely loved the scent. I found it so fresh, like warm rain at dusk in my tropical homeland. A few weeks later, I plan a trip to Seattle with my friends. The weekend before we leave, I receive a text from a mysterious woman informing me that she suspects that the iPad she was sold had been stolen from me (thank you Apple ID). She is in Seattle and would like to return the item to me. I go to meet her in a public place. She is beautiful and so sweet. I thank her and she gives me a hug. She is wearing Jardin de Monsiueur Li. I ask. She confirms. I get shivers and the scent lingers with me all day. This to me smells of synchronicity and deceitful simplicity. An aura of grace and innocent mischief. Beneath it all, sweetness. It also agrees with my skin, blooming into what I can only describe as a clean ray of light. I love to wear this on long walks while listening to lyrics in a language I barely understand, eyes glued to the horizon.

The ultimate soothing, comforting spa scent. Could easily be used as an aromatherapy piece and it’s smooth like silk. Only a master perfumer like Jean-Claude Ellena could have achieved such a natural yet elegant effect. I read somewhere that this feels more like an aura than an actual perfume and I couldn’t agree more. This is everything I hoped Bal d’Afrique to be but found that one underwhelming and low key synthetic, not nearly as smooth as this masterpiece. It wears like an expensive silk scarf, enveloping you, keeping you cocooned. It has such an uplifting, transformative, rejuvenating effect while still remaining grounding and peaceful. The notes here are spot on! A watery jasmine, naturally sweet kumquats, a sprinkle of mint and green notes with no harsh edges. The smell of exotic paradises here on earth, never ending plantations in Bali, a trip around the world to find yourself, to come back to your center and inner happiness. Fantastic performance. I fell in love so easily with this one, it might become my new signature for the warmer seasons.

This is my new obsession.. I mean, I adore this perfume. I’m a big believer in finding beauty in the simple things and this perfume embodies that. It’s so simple and stunning. It’s bright, citrusy, green and zen like. It has an aquatic feel to it that I love. The Kumquat is very prominent, very realistic and to me smells like a mixture of mandarin orange and lemon. I love the fact that this has Jasmine and appreciate it so much since I love citrus forward perfumes but find that most lean masculine, even the ones labeled as unisex. But not this one. It really makes you feel as if you are walking in a beautiful Chinese garden. This is a beautiful, delicate, airy, amazing perfume. I find the longevity to be so good, I don’t know how they managed but it’s lasts on me up to 8 hours and you leave such a gorgeous scent trail... I smelled this the first time at an airport duty free and fell in love and now I have it in my collection and will always want to have it for ever and ever. 🧡

I wrote it in another review, and I'll write it again. I love the Jardin line. They provide a transportive, abstract experience, and wearing them is like a guided meditation; it connects you to a time and a place, in the most ephemeral, fleeting, sheer way (ephemeral because the perfumes in the Jardin collection lack longevity on the skin). This one, in theory, I love the most. The scent is perfection. and I mean it - Perfection. It is so harmonious, well-blended and sophisticated. It is calm, but manages to lift your spirits. The Jasmin is cold and mellow, not metallic at all - it's velvety; the addition of the mint adds so much "air" to it. It's so minimalistic, and full. Just a perfect composition. Unfortunately, this is so short lived. 2.5 hours and it's gone, sometimes gracing you with another 15 minutes of a skin scent. To describe it in three words: Harmonious, Sheer, Refreshing.

The Hermes Jardin Collection is one of the first perfumes I ever bought at Sephora and actually consulted the with associate to find the right fragrance. This is my second full bottle. It's down to less than 4ml. Yikes! I just placed an order for a new bottle. It's not something I reach for every day or even easily. I have had this bottle for two years. Maybe more. I just returned from a short walk in the woods with my dog. It's a mild overcast day in New England. The snow is gone (I hope). The trees are bare. It's kind of gloomy. I'm wearing Le Jardin de Monsieur Li. It's a very soothing and calming sweet lemony fragrance. It doesn't have that incensy/perfumy kick to it. It acts more like a body oil than a perfume . This is a nice fragrance to wear for every day whether you are going out or staying home. It boosts my mood and makes me smile. For me it's a keeper.

I only wish more fragrances were composed like this: "fresh and effortless" rather than the heavy, cloying styles we so often encounter. This collection is truly remarkable, and this particular one ranks among my favourites. Here, I find one of the most beautiful interpretations of jasmine: a polished jasmine accord; transparent, crisp, and free of excess sweetness. There is a gentle fruitiness that seems to come from kumquat, and it feels strikingly natural. The brightness of bergamot also comes through, lending an airy freshness. It is the kind of fragrance I’d want to scent an entire seaside home with clean, floral, and invigorating. It conjures the feeling of freshly washed white sheets brushing against my skin, carried by a cool breeze drifting through open windows. Beautiful. I am currently in the midst of summer in Brazil, and wanted something fresh, light, and airy. I purchased a 50ml of this because they didn’t have full bottles in stock. Lately, I’ve been collecting a few flankers of these series. This is the third “Un Jardín” in my collection. I get no mint, instead, I get dewy jasmine! Not so much the blossoms, but the stem too! It has a sharp citrus opening but it quickly settles into this breezy floral scent. It’s beautiful and elegant. I wouldn’t say it’s terribly unique, but I still felt it was different enough to justify a purchase. I really enjoy this, and recommend this to those who enjoy really fresh and green florals. Perfect for summer. I feel so clean and elegant when I smell this on my skin- It’s truly delightful. Longevity is weak, but I do not mind. It lasts about 2 hours on me.

When I smelled this I was wondering what citrus this is as it felt familiar but not your average lemon and yes, this definitely smells like kumquat - bitter and oily yet refreshing and tasty. This is a very light fragrance and won't be overbearing - a green, fresh, citrusy floral. As usual all notes arr well blended and tough you can pick them out, none of them stick out too much. The most noticeable is the kumquat which balances the jasmine very well and magically softens each other out. The mint is not forward but instead gives a nice fresh background together with the green note which works as a base. Very nice! Also it really does remind of a gin and tonic but not in an in-your-face kind of way but very light and subtle. The projection is rather intimate and lasts 2-3h.

Blind buy from Marshall’s for $40. Couldn’t pass that up. As a guy, I was a little concerned on my first sniff- it is definitely on the feminine side. BUT.. I put some on and wow! It reminds me of one of my favorite nostalgic scents : the long discontinued Zest Energy Rush body wash from the early 2000s. I paid a fortune for a bottle of that Zest through eBay years back and have been using it sparingly just for old times sake. This Monsieur Li smells just like it (at least the dry down does). The smell is so comforting. Despite the fact that it leans a little feminine, I think I can pull this off. It has a shower fresh, spa-like quality that just feels clean rather than “perfumy”.

Monsieur Li is neck and neck with Un Jardin sur le Nil as my favorites in the Jardin series. Here is a captivating garden filled with jasmine and citrus trees painted in Ellena's signature watercolors, but is in no way wan. This is a stunning perfume with a very distinctive floral personality, and while light - I honestly can't get over how it lingers!! It remains perceptible for a surprisingly long time, and wafts sooooo beautifully!!! Monsieur Li won my heart from the very first sniff. For me it's the perfume equivalent of the clear blue sky at noon, the world quiet and calm, a captivating fragrance wraps itself around you, making you feel happy, and safe. Smitten!!!!

why have i never written a review on this? every time i wear this, i feel like i’m having a heart attack. how can someone capture the essence of a flower so masterfully in its blooming phase? have you ever walked by blooming jasmine in real life? well, if you haven’t, this is exactly that. aquatic? no, dewy. imagine it’s been humid. there’s condensation on jasmine sambac petals—so romantic. just a tad green, not in an herbal or vegetal sense, more like cool and menthol-like or even stemmy. ellena proves once again that a white floral doesn’t need to be gourmand, synthetically sweet, or mainstream to be beautiful. this deserves a freaking oscar.

My go-to summer/spring fragrance for 2 years. Light, refreshing, not overbearing, but always makes me feel confident in how I smell regardless of how hot it is or how sweaty I am. HOWEVER I've had McDonald's orders take longer than this fragrance lasts. It is the only fragrance I have ever run out of and re-bought, purely because I find myself reapplying it 2-3 times per day depending on how early I get up in the morning. Though fairly easy to find on discounters for substantially below MSRP, which makes it of fantastic value to me. I imagine this will be a staple fragrance of mine until it is discontinued or I die.

Words can't describe how much I love and respect this work of art. I love mint perfumes and this just might be the best of them all. The mint note here is very photorealistic, it smells like a mint bush in full bloom. Very uplifting, very bright. The kumquat reminds me of the kumquat in Dama bianca, And it pairs so well with the mint. Smelling this makes me feel like I just entered a dewy mediterranean garden early in the morning. It's so peaceful in a way that is hard to describe, but at the same time very sophisticated and alluring. The only negative is the longevity, I wish Hermes could make an edp version.

Wow I really love this fragrance! It smells very fresh and airy and light. Very inoffensive I think and the scent stays close to the body. I wasn't expecting the scent to last long however I've been wearing 1 spray for over 4 hours and I still smell it on my wrist (not so much the citrus and mint, but the floral/powdery smell in the dry down)! There is something in this perfume that reminds me vaguely of something in Hermes eau des merveilles - possibly the ambergris?? But in this scent ambergris is not a note but there is something that smells slightly musky/powdery to me and I really like it!

Incredibly green and juicy... A true journey through the hills of China and its vegetation. I can really smell the Chinese mandarin, which gives it a bright, sweet tone. Very refreshing. However, this fragrance offers much more. I find it to be a meditative scent that truly transports your mind to a remote, quiet Asian garden. Among green fragrances, this is one of my favorites. Along with Jardin sur le Toit, it’s the best of the line. The only 'negative' note: on my skin, it releases a synthetic aroma in the final hours, but since it's at the end, it doesn't bother me.

I'm not usually either a fruity-florals fan or a designer-fragrance fan, but I'll always make an exception for Elena's work for Hermes. Monsieur Li is just delightful--clean, uncomplicated, zesty, fresh kumquat and mint. The jasmine keeps the whole thing from being excessively sharp, flighty, or boring, without weighing it down or trying too hard as jasmine sometimes does. Performance on my skin is par for the course for an Elena Jardin, which is pretty good for this style; two sprays, worn for myself, last me a solid half-day before I want to reapply.

This is a nice fragrance with notes of citrus and jasmine, with hints of mint. It's quite fresh and aromatic. It's perfect for those hot days where you just wanna cool down. It has a more intimate sillage and it lasted for about 4 hours on my skin. It's unisex, although it leans more towards the feminine side. The performance tho makes the value just okay. It could be better for the price, but it could be worse. 7/10. It smells wonderful but the value for the performance is alright at most, unless if you're looking for a more subtle fragrance.

What a delicate and classy fragrance! I was wearing this in class at a master program I was following and it was the perfect fragrance for it. Not invasive, sits on skin and does not radiate too much, but is lasting for a few hours and whoever gets close enough can understand that you have good taste. Clean, smooth, elegant and citrusy, perfect for daytime. Highly recommended if you dont want to wear another perfume that everybody else wears and if you want something subtle and not too strong. This deserves a solid 8 from me as a vote!

I've never been in a Chinese garden, let alone Monsieur Li's garden - good health to him - but this absolutely smells like a clean, cool garden after a sudden downpour. It smells like getting chilled after the rain and going inside to brew some tea with herbs from the garden and lemon, and then opening up a fresh, sweet pomelo. As much as I disagree with what one reviewer wrote below about the traditional wife who greets her husband wearing high-end jewellery, I do share their associations with coziness, grace, and cleanliness.

Another great masterpiece by Jean-Claude Ellena for the maison Hermès. Triumphant citrus notes of Chinese mandarin solemnly celebrate the elegant freshness of Le Jardin de Monsieur Li. Clear, transparent, a fragrance that allows access to an olfactory path of great cleanliness and order. The refreshing notes of dry mint are masterfully in accord with the floral purity of the white jasmine. A sensory journey of great caliber. Fresh, dynamic sillage. Duration appreciable even after many hours. Chapeau

This is lovely. This is the third Jardin I have tried. (The other two were Nil and Mediterranee, and I love them both.) I think Monsieur Li is supposed to evoke the scent of a Chinese garden. I can’t say I get that specifically, but this is a very clean, watery, citrus-y floral. Not sharp at all and doesn’t give the “cleaning product” vibes I sometimes get from citrus. Very pretty and while in the same vibe as Nil and Mediterranee, definitely doesn’t feel redundant. I will be hanging on to all 3.

Clean and refreshing. It's a perfume I wear when I need a boost of energy, but also a sense of calmness. The best way I can explain it is that it's like sitting on a quiet bench on a hot day and a cool breeze blows by - you close your eyes, take it in, while letting go of your thoughts for that brief moment. It's a reset. It does last pretty well on me. I'm not sure if anyone else can smell it, but every now and then I catch a whiff of it on me, and it's like that cool breeze I described above.

This and Jardin sur le Nil are my favorite Hermes perfumes; this one is warmer, but just as fresh and delightful as a spring/summer scent. It's pleasant, and I definitely pick up the jasmine in the top note, but it blends nicely with the citrus. I suppose I get a little of the mint, but it isn't especially minty smelling; it adds a nice edge to the top note. Really does evoke a bamboo garden in the sunshine to me, and smells delightful especially in my hair.

beautiful and ethereal, every time i wear it i feel like i'm floating around after getting a massage or going to a day spa; in fact, i loved literally wearing it out of the day spa. the kumquat/mint is such an interesting combo to me, i personally find it very memorable. so far it's the one i reach for the most in the jardin collection. sillage and longevity is decent, though i have a tendency to wear lighter fragrances so make of that what you will.

I totally agree with Dadadida: this is perfection. It is very calming, clean and most of all, happy. It is not for the night out but to give happiness for every day life. I find the longevity better than some other reviewers. Yesterday I wore this on a ten hour school trip and on our way back I could still smell the calming scent of dear Monsieur Li while my pupils were all over the bus. Scent therapy at it ́s best.

My most worn perfume ever, it is so incredibly special. Fresh, warm, cozy, mysterious. Not offensive at all, quite subtle, and the dry down smell is kinda masculine, minty. But its sooo intriguing, I cant describe it. It does smell like a goddess at a spa, i dont think you can go wrong with it. It got me many compliments, i wish it was a bit more long lasting and maybe slightly sweeter.

This is happiness in a bottle. Kumquat with jasmine are dominant and realistic. Clean, crisp and lightly sweet scent. It is classy and sophisticated. Simple enough to let the main notes shine to the fullest while complimenting each other. From all Jardines perfume line this one is my favourite. On my skin actually it lasts long time. It doesn't come off even after shower.

I love this fresh scent. So not sexy but refreshing and invigorating. After the initial lemony stage, the jasmine begins to peek through and then unfolds into a fresh floral scent. Not heady at all, but like sitting in my grandmother's garden as a child, where I would catch he occasional whiff of her jasmine "trees". Nothing cheap and cloyingly sweet about it.

I don't know how @petcake below could be any more accurate. This is exactly me today, although it's so cold here our first opportunity to open the windows was today, in late April. This is perfectly clean without even a hint of soap. It's fresh without being overtly citrus. And it exudes an understated, carefree class. This is pure Ellena.

Calming and lovely scent. I'm a man and I get a lot of jasmine and citrus at first. The longevity is inexistant for me, even when I overspray it. It becomes instantly a skin scent, I can smell it on me all day but my gf told me she doesn't get whiffs of it even when she's close. I still think it's a perfect unisex summer scent

Early summer in Madrid, during a heatwave. Trying to hide from the Sun during the day, the white stone buildings shine brightly in your face. The heat roasts clementines and lemon trees, filling the air with their scent. There is no respite until sundown, drinking G&Ts on a rooftop and a soft breeze that cools you.

Now this is a citrus fragrance done right. The jasmine makes the perfume more light, so it doesn’t smell completely like lemon peel, like a lot of citrus perfumes tend to do. I usually dislike strong citrus fragrances because they lean more masculine, but this smells very classy and elegant!

I have the 7.5ml and at first it was like a bitter tart citrus at first and then it's just an absolute soothing scent as if you're in a garden of bamboos filled with flowers fruits and everything by a small pond. IMHO it's a scent that I would want on me 24/7.

I hated it at first, but I've learnt to appreciate the smell. I even crave for the smell because it's so refreshing especially here in the Philippines. It's a great perfume choice when you feel stifled or suffocated with other heavy scents.

I adore this. On clothes it lasts all day. And I can catch delicate whiffs in the wind. Can’t believe that ginger is not listed. The opening is a ginger and lemon for me, than developes into jasmine green tea with verbena. Delightful

Beautiful fragrance. Ellena and Hermes' Jardin range are all beautiful, interesting, feel very personal w low sillage and not offensive. The only parfumes (along w Tom Fords fresh range) Ive found worth wearing to the office.

It's a light, fresh, citrusy-floral that reminds me of the hand soap in my bathroom. Luckily, I like the hand soap in my bathroom! Doesn't last terribly long but it's an EDT, and I don't need my fragrances to last all day.

Clean, citrusy, fresh-smelling but very faint. I don't think it's the best citrus fragrance I've tried (Atelier Cologne has that game in the bag) but it's pleasant and I'd wear this on a warm day. I agree that it's unisex.

I really like it; reminds me of an old deoderant I used to have (Axe Air) with a super fresh smell. It is a scent for those looking for something complex, not if you are insecure and need something pungent.

This is such a beautiful representation of kumquat, spot on. It’s such a nice bitter fresh citrus, with softer white flowers at the background. I can imagine wearing this the whole summer. Stunning.

This is my ultimate dream perfume! That bright, juicy and sweet kumquat opening is simply magical. I’m seriously thinking of gifting it to myself for my birthday—it’s just too perfect!

Very light jasmin with some citrus sparks, it brings a sense of holiday and quiet happiness. It has an almost therapeutic effect - for a deeper breath and observing life around you.

Really fresh, definitely citrus in the beginning, like lemon curd! Then softly transforms into lovely floral scent. Perfect scent for a hot day, refreshing and not too heavy.
