Musc Pallida Eau de Parfum

You know what I think every time I apply this perfume? I love you. I love you I love you I love you! 🧡 Over the years, I have been going through a lot of perfumes. A LOT. Many of them I have disliked. Many made me feel nothing. Some of them I liked. A few of them I made a strong connection to and really liked. But loved? And then I mean really REALLY loved. Maybe one or two. And now, this one. To me, Musc Pallida Edp feels like an old friend. One of those you have known for years, who will always be there for you, through thick and thin. Someone who will be in your life forever, someone you trust, someone who makes you feel good and make you become a better version of yourself. This is not a one dimensional musc perfume, it has all the different layers that I have experienced in different musc perfumes combined into one. There is a little bit of sweetness to it and I think that is what really does it for me. If I put this on in the morning, I can still feel it when I go to bed att night. Throughout the day I get wonderful whiffs of the scent when I move. It is never loud or in your face but it is there. It is persistent and it keeps you company all through the day. It really is a scent that radiates off your skin and it is actually easier to sense it in the air around you then if you press your nose to your skin. It needs movement and warmth. Life. The bottle is 100 ml but I am already thinking of buying a backup bottle. And selling all my other musc perfumes ;-) I would really love if Hermes made a shower gel as well with this scent 🧡 My guess is that Cardamusc will be released as an Edp as well and, in that case, I cannot wait to try it ☺️ For someone who usually wear different perfumes everyday of the week, depending on mood, Musc Pallida Edp is the closest I will ever come to a signature scent.

I purchased this after visiting the Hermes store. The lady helping me was quite impatient, rushed and incredibly rude. I actually went to the store to smell Osmanthus Yunnan. The lady sprayed five different samples on the sample cards and handed them all to me at once and basically walked away. I was trying to figure out what she had even handed me. The one that stood out immediately was Musc Pallida but it took me awhile to figure that is what it was giving me some time to enjoy the dry down in the store. I literally could not get over how beautiful it smelled! Despite the extremely rude sales person, I chose to purchase Musc Pallida instead of Osmanthus Yunnan because it smells absolutely amazing and so incredibly fresh. I am completely in love with this wonderful fresh, crisp, Iris and musk scent that dries down into a creamy musky floral scent for me. On my skin it lasts a long time. I can easily get 8-10 hours and it lasts longer when sprayed on my clothing. This will be a wonderful anytime of year fragrance but I like it especially for spring and fall. I also think that this will also work well as a base to layer other florals over for spring and summer. It is not offensive at all and works very nicely in an office setting. Definitely getting compliments on this at the office! I can not get enough of it! I highly recommend checking this one out!

Musc Pallida remains very close to the skin but it’s a straightforward soft white musk that’s almost oily with a more powdery violet type of iris. It’s almost like a muted and delicate version of a creamy purple bubble bath bar from Lush. I don’t get any obvious aldehydes and it’s too smooth, linear and grounded in musky oil bases to experience any dynamic aldehyde sparkle. I do get a gentle heliotrope in the base. It’s beautiful, understated and subtle but I’m sure it’s overpriced for what is essentially a straightforward white musk oil with slight purple florals. The more I wear it, the more I’ve fallen in love with it. As it develops it gets nutty from the almondy heliotrope, it’s the softest, musky heliotrope ever (I still get no iris and am convinced it’s heliotrope). If you’re looking for a budget version of Musc Pallida then try Ana Abiyedh Poudree but be warned that it’s not as subtly smooth and as refined as this. Fans of L'Eau d'Hiver will also appreciate Musc Pallida as it’s the even more minimalist and gentle version of this.

To me, this is a lovely addition to the line. One of my co workers loved the oil on me so when the Eau de parfum came out, I had to have it. I am almost anosmic to musk, but I can smell this all day.

This is so good. Makes me think of a very reserved wedding. It says Iris but I think muguet here for some reason. Satin sheets. Baby’s breath. White veils. Flowers in the hair. Spring fragrance.
