Sandalsun

I have Woodysandal and now Sandalsun too. I was blown away by the opening. The nuttiness of the hazelnut is incredibly realistic. Someone below mentioned SOL Cheirosa #62, they are like distant cousins. If you Iike the former, good chance you'll like this one too. This opens with that hazelnut and transitions into a creamy vanillic sandalwood that pulls in to an intimate distance. Comparing this to Woodysandal, Woodysandal is very dry, soft spicey and kinda soapy like. They are nothing alike and both fbw if you're wondering. They both perform similarly. Projection pulls in after the first hour but your left with a personal scent bubble for at least 8 hours.

YUMMO! Being anti-gourmand, I’ve never really experienced hazelnut as a prominent note, nor was I overly interested. First spray is very photorealistic and it is delicious! Not tainted by sweetness but baring itself for what it is. While transitioning straight into the sandal heart which is super smooth, the hazelnut continues to hang in the background. Not much projection but still long lasting. Not bad if you want to smell like Nutella while snuggling with a loved one.

Sweet hazelnut with vanilla frost. This is a bitter hazelnut blended in with it's shells and poured in a ban then poured the vanilla frost on top of it. It's partially gourmand and not fully edible. It does have hints of sour coconut with lime that makes it take a detour. I can't detect any myrrh! maybe some balsamic factor but no myrrh. This is an amazing blend that i loved from top till base, specially when i first sprayed it. Excellent and pretty amusing.

This is extremely nutty and smooth. Hermetica is a new discovery and I really appreciate the ecological side of it and the fact that all fragrances are alcohol free. If you appreciate creamy gourmand leaning fragrances do check it out. I was very attracted to it, but soon realized that I have something very similar. It’s all hazelnuts, fall winter kind of a scent...cosy and warm, very welcoming. Longevity is good and I love the refill option.

Hazelnuts, hazelnuts... excuse me, but now, on summertime I hear hazelnuts only for few second from beggining, after comes cianidic sirupy cherry'ish heliotrope, something like Manifesto or Hypnotic Poison edt, after creamy sandal and hedion.. maybe a bit of myrhh.. Very cozy gourmand perfume, not sweetly sweet at all, just charming

REALLY warm, smooth, oudy, but imho still just feels SO summer. This does not feel like a winder fragrance at all to me. It doesn't actually smell too much LIKE '62 Sol de Janeiro but they are in a very similar lane/vibe for me, would reach for them for the same reasons in summer.

Yum!! Sweet, nutty creamy vanilla + sandalwood on a bed of cashmere! It’s giving pretty silk vibes. Gourmand lovers treat! What tribeca shoulda been!

Roasted hazelnuts, yummy vanillic base and overall a cosy gourmand! One of a kind with such a great interpretation of this nut. Like Nutella 😊

my first nut/sandalwood fragrance! tried this since i was mostly interested in the vanilla note. a sweet, nutty and gorgeous gourmand - the opening smells just like nutella !! bought the 50mL on sale for $149 aud from perfume forever after the first (second) sniff lol - from the nozzle this smells more almondy than hazelnutty! i'm very surprised that this ended up being a scent i really enjoyed, since i've never been interested in fragrances that focus on nutty notes (eg. kayali's pistachio gelato). regarding the packaging, i understand that it is a little annoying - the actual box is a hassle to close if you open it from the gold mesh, however this isn't too much of an issue if you open it from the bottom (where the logo is) !! i don't really mind the appearance of the bottle itself since the only thing that really matters is the scent. i love the dry down of this scent the most ; soft and woody with the TINIEST trace of spice (which is probably just the sandalwood) that melds beautifully with the skin. this is a lovely unisex fragrance, but to many people i imagine this may lean a bit more feminine due to its sweetness. regardless, this would smell absolutely amazing on any gender! <3

Hermetica Sandalsun, like the other entries in the house, is fairly agreeable. It’s mainly a mix of bergamot, sandalwood, hazelnut, vanilla, cocoa, and myrrh. Unsurprisingly, then, it’s sweet, though not overly heavy. It’s bright with the bergamot, that same Source1 DNA that has a citrus vibe. It also faintly smells of sunscreen in that respect. It’s sharp and sort of creamy, but with the main ingredients, it becomes an overall quite sweet experience. It’s a very interesting, versatile fragrance, good but not great on my skin, at least. I usually applaud fragrances that are at the intersection of different styles—in this case, a gourmand and freshie—but Sandalsun feels stuck in limbo in between. Still, because it’s peculiar and practically versatile, I could see this being among the more popular offerings of the line. It has the same standard pricing of the line for $195 for 100ml, $135 for 50ml—as I’ve generally said, fairly reasonable in the niche world. Despite me not being wowed by it or finding it as useful on me personally, I’d especially encourage everyone to try this one. It has some quirks and I could see it being a winner for many. 7 out of 10

Sandalsun is a true discovery. A nuanced, woody, and resinous Hazelnut, all smooth and warm. It's reminiscent of Pierre Guillaume's "Praline Santal" with its powdery, almost gourmand nuts, heliotrope, and sandalwood. Except that Sandalsun (as its name suggests) has beautiful solar notes (frangipani and monoi) induced by hedione and juicy bergamot. I really like it, but I know it could be suffocating and uncomfortable for some. It's an almost milky scent of rice and skin, quite intimate. On some, it will even become as clean as a tonka-hazelnut shower gel because the myrrh almost creates a soapy facet. A lovely paradox.

I like the scent. Hate the bottle. Can't lift it by the ugly gold cap, I find the green color very loud, it doesn't match the juice, it's so unappealing up close, and worst of all, it dosen't fit upright in my fragrance drawers. Just annoying packaging to the point that I'm looking for an empty bottle to fully decant this. UPDATE I keep forgetting that I even own this fragrance as I can't store it with the rest of my collection because this bottle it too tall to fit.

My Husband enjoyed this one and so did I. It was his favorite of this sample kit, it was my 2nd favorite after Vaninights. It is a summer scent, very nutty, coconut, tropical fruits. It would be a great scent to take on a tropical vacation. It has great lasting power and I saved this sample to wear in the summer. I doubt I will buy a full bottle, it isn't my usual type of scent but if you like tropical coconut/fruity scents give the one a try.

Nutty gourmand made with quality, natural smelling ingredients. One of my favorites from my Hermetica Discovery Box. Beside hazelnuts, I pick up a milky vanilla and cocoa note. Good overall performance, Sandalsun won’t win any niche originality awards—I’ve smelled similar perfumes—but at current retail prices you get a lot of bang for your buck. I’m impressed.

This is so interesting. When I was just getting into fragrances in beginning 2023 I didn't like it at all. Now that my nose is more experienced I smelled it again. The hazelnut is the prominent note here, it almost has that bitter quality while still being a somewhat gourmand fragrance, and it's very well-blended. I really like it.

The hazelnuts are there! They truly are. In my opinion the nutty smell really overwhelmed me at first sniff, but after a couple of minutes the fragrance settles down beautifully, almost blending in with your skin. It leaves an intimate sillage, but lasts for quite a while. Lovely fragrance, but just a little overpriced.

This fragrance is very uplifting for me. I do think it smells very sunny and smooth. It would be good in sun-care products. I think also good as a haircare product smell. It was a mood booster. This smell reminds me of the feeling of having lain in the sun awhile and falling asleep. Definitely woody gourmand.

top notes: hazelnut, vanilla, pleasant middle notes: vanilla, musky, coriander, sandalwood base notes: sandalwood, vanilla very pleasant masculine fragrance. not bad, but there's some others out there with similar scent profile. Solid 8.5/10 though.
