Tubereuse 2 Virginale

I was in a hurry this winter morning, and it was too early and too cold, but I had a strong urge to test one of my samples and so I blindly grabbed the first one that fell into my hand. I couldn't even read the small letters on the vial in that dark room, so I gave up and decided to give it a "blind test" moment. I was curious to see if - after being interested in fragrances for quite a while - I can blindly recognize any notes at all. And then I got a blast of patchouli and thought that it was somehow rather classy if quite modern scent and I knew that there were strong flowers, but that's about it. At that point I gave up and checked what it was that I was testing. :-D So - for me personally the patchouli was strong at the beginning, along with the tuberose (as I have later learned) and the fantastic cherry! I love cherries in any form, especially sour, black, Morrelo cherries and I dare to say that I sense a bit of darkness in those cherries here :-). I must say I enjoy this fragrance tremendously, I find it alluring somehow from the first breath and as "pansylady" says: almost mesmerizing. It made me feel somehow strangely happy and confident. We have a difficult relationship with white flowers and I rarely like fragrances that contain them, but of all of those, I personally find tuberose the most attractive/fitting/intriguing white flower for me. I would think that calling a tuberose "virginale" must be rather far fetched, as this tends to be a very powerful flower if anything, but here they were right: later on when wearing this an 8 years old girl told me that it smells "like Freya". And when asked who she is, I was told that Freya is a little baby girl. So here goes. It would seem that this fragrance is full of a sweet, gentle, baby tuberose. :-) Wonderful.

I wore this all last summer so Virginale reminds me of happy, sunny days. A delightful fruity floral that feels uncomplicated and weightless. The tuberose keeps a sophistication in the fragrance without being severe. The florals leans a little greener than Dyptique's Do Son but shares the same airy, feminine vibe with the fruity addition of cherry. The fruitiness of the cherry is amplified by the tangerine note rather than sitting next to it. "Virginale" captures a feeling for me of being carefree, that kind of "innocence". It has such a positive impact on my mood when I wear this and is a beautiful, delicate scent with great lasting power. I discovered this a while back when I was searching for dupes for TF's Lost Cherry (It's nothing like Lost Cherry, which I associate with a dark, cherry liqueur.) I'll have to get a bigger bottle!

Cashmeran! And lots of it! The tuberose-cashmeran combo, which we have all already experienced in Michael Kors Michael in very similar proportions, makes Tubereuse Virginale a bit less unique, but it is still original, and very, very beautiful. It is extremely strong in the opening, I get tuberose plus some other white flowers (it must be tiare, but I smell some jasmine, too), woody accord, and juicy cherries. I do not get vanilla as a separate note, but I guess it is vanilla that makes the composition so sweet (very sweet, but I like it). This is a very beautiful fruity white floral, it smells expensive, sultry in a femme fatale way. This is a kind of scent you crave while being infatuated with it. Exotic cherry woody sweetness. The start is all girly, frangipani jam,the base is very woody, unisex. The right guy will pull this off.

I've bought a different fragrance, Moulin Rouge from Histoires de Parfums a couple of years ago for my birthday, and I was testing a lot of scents that day, but Tubereuse 2 hypnotised me... I couldn't stop thinking about that fragrance and I promised myself that I'll buy it for another birthday :)) And yes - I've done it last year! I still remember it very vividly, I had just finished chemotherapy for Hodgkins lymphoma and after the last infusion me and my dad went to Moncredo perfumerie in Warsaw to buy it. I was so happy that day. I was certain that chemo worked well, I loved my new perfume and I had an amazing outfit. With that fragrance I felt very feminine and beautiful, and nothing could change that, even if I was very thin and had no hair. Magical, charming and very sexy fragrance.

It was this week when I heared birds singing and I knew Spring time is coming and soon. I have been thinking this one to next springtime scent and to early summer time. This scent is good to moods when nature is rebirthing and starting to bloom. I love this time of year and Tubereuse 2 Virginale is just correct one for these spring time feelings and moods. Helps also us people to rebirth from winter to coming summer, opens our senses and raising joy in our chests. Very Joyfull scent this is indeed me thinks.
