H&M Above The Clouds

This was recommended by a fellow Fragrantican as a dupe for Byredo Blanche...and it is an absolutely fantastic dupe! A smooth, dry floral laundry musk. Clean, warm, comforting and long lasting. I love Blanche for casual, daytime wear, and have been eeking out 10 mls of it for a while, contemplating whether I can stretch to over £100 for a 50ml bottle. Now I’ve found Above The Clouds for £12.99 for 50mls....Bargain! It’s pretty much made Blanche redundant for me.

This fragrance is so beautiful and I think the name suits it very well, it is an airy musky clean scent. I wish I could buy a backup bottle as i am almost finished with mine. This alongside flowerscape were the best from the collection in my opinion.

Great dupe for Byredo Blanche! Smells like clean laundry that’s drying in the sun, goes well with a crisp white shirt. Simple and affordable.

100% laundry soap/ conditioner scent. Cannot stop sneezing when I wear it , but I love it with all my heart <3

This smells like clean fresh laundry and I love it.

I blind bought this as well as the bath spray. I like the scent but it does not last. Even doubling the two up does not seem to make a difference on my skin. I don't know what I was expecting, but somehow more than this. I just don't understand the difference between perfumes in the 80s and perfumes created recently. Back then, you would be hard pressed to find a frag in any price range that "didn't last" and now it seems to be the norm. If you want to find one with projection and longevity more than an hour, you seemingly have to either find vintage frags and pay a small fortune, or pay a small fortune for niche based on notes and reviews. I know reformulations happened bc of the people who think the world is going to end, but this is ridiculous. I am so tired to having to respray multiple times a day. I do believe that the one frag that immensely angers me because of the low longevity is Jadore. That is the BEST smell ever, but lasts minutes. Such a drag and a lot of wasted money searching for one that may last...

This is giving me VERY strong Maison Kurkdjian vibes, which for a perfume that cost 8 bucks is nothing to sniff at, excuse the pun. The opening reminds me of Aqua Universalis and quickly moves to the distinct amber accord in APOM Homme. It's like a cross between the two, and quite strong, even in the body spray version which is what I have. Warm, pillowy, a bit sweet, something you can spray on without feeling like you're overdoing it, which is how I sometimes feel spraying 200$ Aqua Universalis to go like... grocery shopping. I really like it so far. If you ever wanted to test a Kurkdjian for cheap, give it a go.

I have an old bottle, and I always thought of it as a fragrance to wear in cold but sunny weather because how crispy and fresh to me it smelled, like early spring. Never got too far, that is why i still do have it on the shelves. I moved to Spain recently and brought it with myself to force myself to finish it up along with a few others from my collection AND guess what, the humid, warm weather just makes this work on me so much better!!! It is so musky and powdery yet fresh. I started to love this again after many years

This is a definition of a laundry smell, in a good way. It's clean, and I spray this on my coats, and inside my wardrobe to have that laundry scent last longer on my clothes. I never smell Byredo Blanche so I can't say if it's a dupe, but I'd say I'm happy to pick this up. My husband loves this perfume on me, even though this perfume doesn't smell sexy, or sweet. I can see myself wearing this more often the next summer. Longevity is really good, especially for the price tag: 5 hours on my skin, 7 hours on fabric!

This one is actually very good and strong. It is refreshing, sharpening the mind and relaxing. At first it reminded me about the bubble Baths from the eighties. Ekstremely soapy smell, but still appealing. Some would maybe say it smells like washing powder. I can smell neroli in this one. It is a pleasant perfume that cant annoy anyone.

Really didn't enjoy this at first spray - very harsh chemical whiff as if opening a new box of laundry powder, but it dries down to something much nicer - lightly peppery musk with a handful of candied rose petals (not too sweet, though). It's still a very synthetic scent but very comforting and 'safe' if that makes sense?

I fell in love with this fragrance! I wish I could find it available again in the store... For me this fragrance smells great, the only thing it didn't stay on my skin, maybe because I was wearing it when I was living in a cold country. H&M please sell this beautiful perfume again!!

Amazing collection from hm, i was craving for a cheaper version for this type what byredo Blanche is, i dont really meet the same freshness often, i was compromising with some cotton fragrances, but this one is perfect

Nothing like Clean Warm Cotton, I will be using this perhaps as a room freshener or linen spray.

this one is probably doomed to be a pillow spray for me. I usually enjoy cotton scents, and while above the clouds is not unpleasant in any way, it’s not something I would wear as a perfume. another reviewer mentioned that it lacks warmth that can be found in other cotton perfumes, and I have to agree. I can’t really detect the supposed powder note that’s in there either, which is a little sad. overall it’s nice enough but it lacks that extra element that would make it wearable in my book. as a side note I think it’s a little humorous that out of all the h&m scents I purchased, this is the one I paid the most for and also the one I ended up liking the least!

When first sprayed, this is a very clean musk. As it begins the process of drying down, the powder note comes out quite a bit. While I enjoy the aldehydes that are distinctly present in this, it lacks the warmth that is necessary, in my opinion to balance things out. I thoroughly enjoy EL's White Linen and Clean's White Amber & Warm Cotton, but those are much better balanced than this. Also, I am truly not a fan of powder, and this just has a bit too much of it for me, personally. This is, unfortunately, going on my swap list.

Ok so I'm not the only one who thinks this smells like laundry soap. It actually immediately reminded me of dryer sheets, lol. I normally love musky powdery and rose fragrances but there's some other floral that dominates for me - maybe that's the cotton flower? As said below, I don't get powdery with this at all and it's not warm. This does not project well and longevity is poor at 3 hours, if that. That being said, it's cheap so you could use this as a bath or linen spray as others have said.
