Social Butterfly

This is lovely! I will pre-empt this by saying I bought it because I had a H&M reward for a discounted perfume, did a quick google of their fragrances and saw that this one supposedly smells like Orchidee Vanille. This does not smell like Orchidee Vanille, but I do get that balmy vanilla DNA in the dry down, which may be why the comparison gets drawn so frequently. Instead, this is a very clean, very bright, almost-soapy citrus-vanilla. It smells like a fancy hotel bathroom in a very good way, kind of like coming back from the beach to have a quick shower. The projection is quite intimate but I do get a waft of it every now and then which is nice. It isn't cloying which I also appreciate - it's easy for toffee notes to leave the 'mmm yummy' territory and become professional headache-inducers, which is not the case here. I definitely get the ylang ylang too - it's overall a very lovely, safe wear and something you could wear to the office throughout spring and summer without worrying about giving your colleagues a headache, or just if you want something easy and summery to wear out!

7.8/10 - I get plastic wafer that's gourmand, addictive and pleasant. Wouldn't wear out of the house unless layered with a "proper" perfume as its pretty linear and I feel gourmands are better suited for relaxing in bed, but it's a brilliant nighttime scent and well worth the money. Time and effort has been put into this and although the plasticity of it may be due to the synthetic nature, its easily overlooked because of how spot on that gorgeous toffee caramel wafer is. I get none of the top notes.

Absolutely gorgeous... A subtle hint of lemon over a sweet and cashmeran cookie dough vanilla and toffee. A really enticing gourmand without being sickly sweet or synthetic! I probably wont wear this outside until the weather gets cooler, but for someone who doesn't find things cloying as easily, I think it could work year round. It's only $10, so... I probably wont be able to help myself from grabbing a backup :P Instant, unexpected LOVE.

This gorgeous little gem is absolutely wonderful! A real treasure. A true gourmand! It smells like orangefilled milktoffe. Creamy and gourmand. So soft and Sexy. The lastingpower is so so sooo good. Sprayed it for a night out and could smell it on me and in my whole bedroom the morning after! And what a complimentgetter this is........................ :)

This was a surprise for me. It smells, at least on my skin and to my nose, like SPF in the best way possible. Just like when you put sunscreen on, go in the ocean, and stay for a few hours in the sun. I can feel that warmth, and I love it. It does not have a crazy projection or lasting power, but so far, I don't think I've smelled anything like it.

Yesss, I love it! It has vanilla blended in with fresh, soft citrus notes and some sweet caramel. Smells like candy! It's honestly a perfect spring scent, very feminine. It doesn't last, but being so affordable, it doesn't hurt to spray some more from time to time.

Wow, this is absolutely stunning! The dry down is lovely, so warm and beautiful. 😻 It’s in the same realm as D&G Devotion and Xerjoff Lira, with that delicious lemony-vanilla vibe. Think sweet, creamy cupcake goodness with a hint of citrus.❤️👌🏼🍋🧁

This is what Lush's American Cream should be - that lactonic, fluffy, slightly sweet thing, but without the screechy herbals. Love love love.

I bought this butterfly yesterday, a small bottle, and, l just don't only like it - l actually LOVE it!

Social Butterfly opens with H&M signature accord: alcohol. Thankfully, once the initial sharpness evaporates, it settles into something more charming. On my skin, this is a sweet mandarin fragrance with a creamy vanilla base and a very noticeable toffee note running through it. The toffee gives it warmth, softness, and a slight sexyness, not loud or seductive in an obvious way, but definitely not entirely innocent either. It feels like the perfume equivalent of a cute innocent-looking girl at the office who gives you a flirty smile and absolutely knows what she is doing. Despite the sweetness, Social Butterfly does not become heavy or sticky. It mellows out in a mellow cashmere after a while. Longevity is around two hours on me, which seems to be the standard life expectancy of an H&M fragrance. I really like this one. It is sweet, soft, girly, and gently sexy. Perfect for a daytime walk through an old town in a European city, stopping for ice cream in a little cafe, and pretending your life is much more effortless than it actually is.

As a sweet gourmand lover this is an absolute LOVE! It is funny how this little cheapie got me back into my perfume addiction haha. This smells like American Cream by Lush. I love this! It is creamy, sweet, feminine, youthful, delicious. The mandarin orange and toffee really shines in this perfume. It could be easily double the price in my opinion, it would still be worth it. On clothes it lasts an entire day. When I first wore it, it was a very hot day and this baby projected like crazy. For this price I think every gourmand lover should give it a go.

This smells straight up Prada Candy for me if I can recall it correctly. I loved this type of scent around 2015-16, but I find it a bit too synthetic and juvenile now. It's a nice fragrance though, but nothing original.

Inoffensive and sweet! Good value if you, like me, needed something to wear to blend yourself into a new social setting.

This smells very subtle. First a burst of alcohol then a powdery smell, reminding me of an expensive, fancy baby doll bought somewhere «abroad». It’s a very simple fragrance. A powdery vanilla, with some very subtle orange notes, and sweet toffee, straight up like eating caramel. I actually love it. It is well balanced and blended, and softer than SLJ. A sweet little edt, not very strong but will still linger on your skin the morning after application. Its growing on me and the bottle is just so cute.

Not my favourite fragrance. Smells like a Christmas candle to me. The vanilla is strong here.

The opening of this one is a traditional citrus note vibe (less cozy, more invigorating); however, it quickly settles into a caramel base that reminds me of Pada's Candy. It's a light, bright scent that seems more suited for daytime and warm weather, and the projection and longevity are weak. It is a little bit screechy and headache inducing, but you can't expect much at this price point.

h&m needs to make a comeback with fragrances! loveeed mirabilia and still have half the juice left! i'll be purchasing social butterfly when it hits the US!

They never carry their fragrances in either H&M by me. Sucks cause I'd like to smell them.
