Hollister Canyon Escape Woman

My mom had come to visit me two summers ago. It was a sunny day and we were out shopping. At some point we wandered into a cosmetics shop. There was a pile of 'Canyon Escape' perfumes on the table. They had JUST arrived. The bottle looked cute (love the small wave detail in the glass & the wooden cap!), so I decided to test the scent ~ loved it! I knew right there and then I wanted to buy the perfume, but it was so new they hadn't put up the prices yet. Based on how the perfume smelled like, I said to my mom "I bet it's too expensive". (Mind you, I'm not familiar with the 'Hollister' brand at all, so I had no idea about their prices) Well, the perfume turned out to be a bargain! I have since learnt 'Hollister' is targeted pretty much at teenagers & early 20s. I don't mind it, it's not embarrassing for me to buy 'teenage stuff' even though I'm way past my teenage years. ;) I've actually noticed many 'youth-targeted' fragrances are easier to tolerate ~ not sure if they have less alcohol in them or if they use less harsh chemicals (??), but they're usually less likely to induce headaches and sneezing. 'Canyon Escape' is a very special perfume to me - it holds that memory of being out with my mom and finding this perfume together. The scent itself is pretty unique, I don't have anything else that smells like it. It could be the Cactus juice or the Desert rose that makes it different? I'm not familiar with those notes, so could be either one - or both! It's a 'warm' and easy-to-wear fragrance. Has a decent lasting power on my skin. I'd recommend it! Don't let the 'Hollister' scare you off from testing it!

I def smell the cactus and blood orange. Not a sharp or acidic citrus, but a sweet, airy citrus that feels natural and refreshing. What I enjoy most about this fragrance is the feeling it creates. It smells like freedom, but not the loud, party going kind. It smells like a walk outdoors, fresh air on your face, and a quiet moment under the sun. Clean, but not in a generic way. It doesn't smell cheap, artificial, or overly polished. It feels natural, like no makeup, not bidding, not trying to be someone else. I enjoy it both alone and in company. While I wouldn't necessarily wear it to bed, I can absolutely imagine taking a nap under a tree while wearing it. This is one of those fragrances that quietly grows on you. The more I wear it, the more I appreciate its uniqueness, and if I ever ran out, I would happily buy it again.

I absolutely love this! When I tested it in the shop I was certain there's peach in it - was surprised to come home to see the notes! No peach, lol. But desert rose, cactus juice, and solar notes? Wow. I did buy a 30ml bottle and been using it daily now. When it was really hot here there was a baffling dry-down note in it, wasn't sure if I liked it or not, but now that the weather has gotten slightly cooler it's not there anymore. (Thankfully!) I'd describe this fragrance slightly fruity and "warm", but not heavy... It's a quite unique smell! Definitely not disturbing, and it doesn't give any headache or sneezing like some perfumes do. The bottle is lovely, shaped beautifully with the wooden cap! Stylish little bottle. I regret not testing the 'His' version of this fragrance!

What a gorgeous perfume. I love the packaging. The little stout bottle with the wooden lid is really cute and the sunshine colour liquid inside screams summer. It is such a warm scent. I imagine this is what a sun goddess would smell like. It’s sweet but not cloying, it’s almost juicy like a peach and mouth watering. It has that warmth and depth without being sickly sweet. It’s fruity and floral but not flowery. It’s not headache inducing at all considering the sweetness. It’s beautiful. First spray was a bit rough (very polarising) but give it a moment and it really settles down into this beautiful creaminess. Longevity on me is amazing, I could still smell it on my arm the following day. I love it!

By far one of the best scents of any perfume I've ever smelled in my life. Maybe that's a bit dramatic to say ..but to me it's just so beautiful??😂 I get playful, mildly sweet, light florals mixed with bit of citrus and it's just so goodd👌🏻 the longevity isn't the best on me but when I put Vaseline or a thin unfragranced lotion on, it definitely lasts longer as it does on clothes. I wear this for more casual outings or a day date with warm weather. Tbh idk which note or notes I smelled first but it was a definite love at first sniff. I recommend it to people to love a beautiful bubbly floral with a hint of citrus. 10/10 for me💛

I have a new found obsession with fragrance and this was a blindbuy. Love it! It ́s giving something warm and sophisticated. I know it suppose to be more of a summerscent but I find it works really well in a blizzard in dark december aswell. It gives a warmth to it that is comforting. Looking forward to try it in warmer weather because I can also imagine it turns really sexy and free on a warm summernight. I really feel the canyon in the name. Red, dry, dusty, american canyon. Bought a bigger bottle and giving my tiny 30ml baby to my twin to enjoy. Sharing is caring.

I bought this recently at Chemist Warehouse and like many other Hollister fragrances it does not disappoint. On my skin the floral and solar notes are the most dominant and I love the sweetness of the florals. It has very good strength without being too overpowering and is great value for money. Canyon Escape is in my opinion the nicest fragrance Hollister has released and I consider it one of my favourites from the brand.

Beautiful especially for how cheap it was at Ross, i see this one there all the time. The opening feels very like a very deep red citrus backed up with a lovely beachy floral woody body. It screams summer and the beach and the pool, having a cocktail with the besties. I bought this one a while ago and I keep coming back to it

What a nice dupe of Miss Dior(2017), almost. Because of this slightly warm, citrusy and floral scent, I really enjoy it and I find it appropriate for a long and hot Aussie Summer. I feel like not looking further and not breaking the bank for this inoffensive and balanced scent. It is great for casual and work wear.

This was a blind purchase and I'm so glad that I bought this :) It has a nostalgic vibe, and reminds me of my teenage years. It's sweet and fresh smelling, I can definitely smell the citrus tones. It's a new favorite.

this perfume reminds me of lana del rey

This is the first Hollister perfume I've ever tried. Over the last few years, Hollister scents have popped up at Ross, etc., but I've never been attracted to them because they remind me of going to malls back in the mid-1990's and, at that time, I was a perfume snob with my Arpege, Madame Rochas, and Knowing. But for the last 12 or so years, I've also begun indulging in more contemporary beauties (Jessica Simpson Fancy was my gateway drug...). Of all the Hollister perfumes I'd looked up, this one had the most positive reviews, so I spent the $10. Canyon Escape is all cactus and citrus orange over woods, similar in style and smell but not identical to the slightly sweeter Coach Dreams. To my nose, it's really pretty. I think it's the cactus note that makes this scent special. These days, my collection is so large that I'm only keeping perfumes that are strong likes and loves (with the exception of some historically important -- either to me or to perfume history in general -- scents). Canyon Escape is staying.

What a lovely cheapie! I picked my bottle up from a local Ross for around $15. If you are looking for a clone of Tutti Twilly Hermés, this will get you around %75 of the way there. Not a direct dupe, but pretty similar. I get a lot of blood orange and solar notes right off the top that last till the mid, all backed up by a very light and bright musk. Fun, flirty, breezy, easygoing, and you're not going to choke anyone out with this. More unisex than you'd think. Definitely a summertime/daytime wear. Nothing mindblowing, but its a great warm weather dumb reach for when I want something uplifting and sunny. Highly recommend :-)

This one is such a steal for the price. It's not weak at all to me, Doesn't smell cheap in the slightest. It comes off something like a very Citrus-y flanker of Alien, Or L'interdit, It has the same strong grape scent, Which in this case is from the Orange Blossom. It's musky, And the Solar notes are there, But like a soft haze hovering gently over everything else, Very well blended scent. I'm a sucker for any perfume with that "Grape Soda" vibe, So if you like that, Don't sleep on this one! Hollister really does have some great fragrances, All created by famous perfumers as well.

Very pretty citrus with a green backdrop, smells like a day so hot the heat shimmer is near enveloping, or at least what the memory of such a day may conjure. More green than I expected on my skin but in a watery ozonic way and it pairs nicely with the florals leaving the fragrance quite fresh and airy. Not quite like anything I've worn before and definitely a good price for a scent that smells if not niche, at least obscure.

I really enjoy wearing this scent. I've got a 100ml bottle that I share with my mom because that's also her favorite scent. The longevity is incredible - it stays on the clothes for days. Perfect for everyday wear, but I wouldn't wear it as a signature scent. For the price absolutely amazing.

I give it a solid 7.5/10 I don't give it a higher rating because it doesn't really last at all, and the projection could be better , This perfume is delicious, it's like a refreshing fruit bath, very girly. This is the type of perfume that you could abuse in sprays and never be too much.

Mildly sweet, light floral and I don't know why the word "warm" comes to mind. I don't know how to describe what I mean by warm. I'm not allowed to wear perfume at work and this is the right kind of light and casual fragrance for after work that I was looking for. Good for the price.

Jasmine, cedar, a light touch of floral skank, or a floral smokiness, makes it interesting and more elegant than expected. Some say it's too light, but I find it just right, and I like strong perfume. I don't reach for it a lot, but it's really quite nice I think.

Sweet, fresh, happy scent. Perfect for spring and summer days. Very non-offensive, suits all ages (but if I had to decide I would say it leans more youthful), safe blind buy. Suitable for office wear. Smells really soft and clean.

Super sweet blood orange top note. But I can also smell the watery aloe note from the cactus. This is what I envision a girl attending burning man festival might wear.

This is a very simple fragrance, super sweet and citrusy. I got it for the aloe note and I think it brings uniqueness. Easy everyday wear

Kinda smells like grape juice on the skin honestly 😂 in a good way though! Decently juvenile, but a fun summer scent.

I wanted to love this and was so excited about the solar and cactus notes. Sadly, on my skin this was an ephemeral nothing. I only got an echo of orange and solar notes. I don't have anything bad to say about the scent in particular only that it was very very slight. This would be a great summer scent when you want to wear perfume but don't want anyone noticing.

Tested at Chemist Warehouse (Australia). I don't think I really like citrus fragrances tbh. For me they end up smelling too much like cleaning products. That said, this is not bad at all and gives happy summery vibes. It's just not for me.

Sadly, I get mostly just florals in this and though it isn't listed, jasmine. I really was hoping for something more citrusy and sweet. This reminds me of a lighter version of Burberry London which I really don't care for. Blind buy fail.

Smells like grape juice and syrupy sweet citrus over perfume-y white florals. Not for me but for the price, it’s decent if you like this type of fragrance.

Wooooo....so juicy at the beginning! I don't know about oranges...to me I get big ole' juicy pineapple. This is the third fragrance I've bought in the last three months with 'cactus juice' listed as a note (either in the top or heart list) and I'm starting to recognize it and I LOVE it - it's kinda fruity and green. The pineapple only lasts about 30 seconds and then the cactus juice wafts in with the orange blossom (which is indiscernible from jasmine to me). They dance around each other as the entire composition settles into a warm, dusty (solar?), floral woody musk scent that borders on sweet but manages to remain more "ripe fruit in the hot sun" vs anything candylike. The iris in particular is identifiable for me after about an hour or so. Canyon Escape also lists a "solar" note, like Hollister Wave (which I also own), and while I haven't done any research on what chemical produces this note, my experience of it based on these two fragrances, is like hot outdoor air, with a tinge of salt and some humidity, with scents from a nearby flower garden wafting in. I don't know about "Canyon Escape" as a moniker. I lived near a desert canyon for 8 years and have spent 20 years hiking a canyon in the mediterranean climate of my husband's hometown, and neither smell anything like this. But come to think of it, we honeymooned in Kauai and took a helicopter tour over the pineapple plantation that's there, covering vast amounts of the hills and valleys of that area, and I can picture a walk through that plantation in the summer smelling like this. Sillage is moderate and longevity is good. My kids love it on me and I can't quit smelling my wrists when I wear it. It's juicy enough to appeal to a younger audience and floral (and complex) enough to satisfy more mature palates. I don't find it groundbreaking, but I do love it.

I blind bought this tonight at Burlington the 100ml for $16.99. I was reading reviews and decided I wanted to go and get it after seeing it a few weeks ago. I didnt know what to expect but something intrigued me. I finally just sprayed it on my skin and I'm really kind of blown away. It is fruity but the more I smell it I just get a really interesting scent. It smells more expensive than the price and it has some longevity, it's prominent but in a soft way. I'll have to see when I'll wear this but I could see it as a daily scent. It is casual enough to wear daily but is not boring. I'm sensing a your skin but better type of vibe, maybe it's the sandalwood in the base. Whatever I'm smelling gives it a sensual feel. I think now I'm smelling orange blossom also. Very happy with this blind buy and can't wait to test it more especially in other seasons. I sprayed this on just now at bedtime to test it again and it was reminding me of Hugo woman edp so I mixed the 2 since hugo kept giving me a more preppy feel. The canyon escape makes hugo a little more feminine. They have a few similar notes in the iris, sandalwood, cedar, and mandarin.

I kept trying to place what I had used before that smells like this. It’s Covet and velvet noir Christina Aguilera and I agree with Karl lagerfield not the super fresh opening on that one but the dry down definitely. Even one of the radiance ones from Britney Spears and Sunshine from Body Fantasies. I think a lot of people would find this boring. My husband just gave me the Bvlgari multi coloured one and they are similar that one is a bit fresher and greener when sprayed. It doesn’t last very long but very easy to wear it is a smooth creamy fruity smell. A bit like a smoothie or hair conditioner. I really like it but that’s because I like the perfumes I have mentioned and the bottle is very sturdy with the wooden cap it feels less cheap. Very nice edition. I love the yellow festival vibes but it has no staying power.

what a pleasant surprise! i imagined it to smell like dry sand and very boring but no...when i smelled it in the store i was like YUMMI it smells very "womanly" floral and quite strong but still has a light vibe to it. i bought a 100 ml bottle very cheap online and i dont regret it. smells very expensive too.. or at least "not cheap" i thougt jasmin was included in the notes..but its not. theres another one from this line thats called canyon RUSH wich has a darker pink/purple bottle but i dont find it on fragrantica, but i would like to try that too, because i have a feeling it will be even better.

Got this for my 15 yr old cousin while she's visiting. I really smell the cactus juice and sweet floral (imo sweet fruitiness but more floral and cactus imo). She says she really picks up the Musk, but I'm usually overly sensitive to Musk & I don't find it to be particularly musky). She enjoys it and we initially bought it because her bf's name is Canyon. She applied early in the day & this lasted ALL DAY. We were at an amusement park (roller coasters etc) all day and I could delightfully smell her the WHOLE time & all the way home in the car.

Fruit, wood, clean, dry ish, a shower fresh note too. I prefer the mens one. Citrus but stays bright, not sharp and tart. Quite nice but not what I'm looking for. A few hours and it's still present. This isnt a fruit salad, the wood feel anchors it. The musk isnt noticeable in a narciso way... no animals in sight. Innofensicve scent I have a couple of scents other people say this remindsthem of. I dont believe the isseynectar is similar, my version of caleche isnt the same, I have the kelly one, and its bitter.

This smells just like cactus juice in the best way possible. It’s a beautiful scent. I definitely also get the blood orange & solar notes. Feels like a desert vacation. Love it.

This was a blind buy and I really liked it. It’s cheap, it smells good, perfect for summer, and it projects really well. Last longer on skin than on clothes. A perfect fruity fragrance that you could use on the beach or a holiday.

Fresh, powdery and a bit sweet. Smells relaxing and inoffensive. Smells really beige, if you know what i mean. This is not your regular summer scent but it’s pleasant for lazy mornings.

This one is very optimistic and joyful. The most prominent notes of This Perfume are Orange Blossom and Cactus Juice. Perfect for Summer, Day- time. Perfect for everyday wear.

Has a grape soda vibe very similar to My Way and SJP Pure bloom. Not a huge projection but very nice for the price.

canyon RUSH which cannot be found on fragrantica is a dupe for light blue by DG i promise. i love these perfumes!

Whoever says this is light blue is clearly noseblind. This is my way but more relaxed
