Wave 2 For Him

Just a really good fragrance, I'm starting to realize I just love fragrances with this note composition. A musk base cologne. With a generic masculine smell, with a touch of sweetness. It's nonchalantly good. It's one of those colognes wore by a non-collector. That you ask what are you wearing? And they say "Some Hollister stuff." And you're thinking damn what Hollister stuff smell like that? And you wonder is that person lying to you. 😂 Funny enough the bottle is just labeled Hollister California. So once you disregard the box you could easily forget the name of the stuff. The juice and opening are a little weird at first. Smells very sweet and synthetic at first. But then dries down to this alluring sweet masculine musk. Its longevity on skin is actually decent I get about 6-7 hours. But it's a skin scent for its entire life cycle. The silage of Wave 2 is with in about arms reach. But in all honesty it makes the cologne that much cooler. Because it mysteriously and charmingly takes you by surprise. I don't know maybe I'm immature, stuck in the past, or can't escape highschool. But I'm in love with this stuff. You see Wave 2 associated with words like cheapie, weak, synthetic, highschool. I couldn't care less. This stuff is just hypnotic to me. It's definitely a more youthful cologne, but it has enough maturity to match all ages. The joyous sensation that scent creates in my brain is heavenly. It's definitely a sleeper in the community. And isn't mentioned enough. Hollister fragrances in general don't get the credit they deserve. And for $20 a full bottle. It's definitely worth having to have something to wear on your casual days. So you never get caught lacking on a errand run. When you might run into a random baddie at the grocery store. Definitely a best kept secret.

I love frangantica the reviews crack me up. This is not gone in 30 minutes. I think because of the wood and musk in the dry down it would do ok in cooler weather. Anyway people spend less time outside in the cooler months so most freshies with wood in the dry down will work anytime. I have free wave and picked this one up at Ross for $19 and it is a nice freshie, starts with citrus and pepper, then it gets more powdery/flowery and as it settles about 30 minutes it becomes more woody with a little musk, but more wood. It not a powerhouse but, it’s safe for busy areas and even close encounters without being too cloying. It transitions nicely from the opening through the mids and the dry down. Overall I would give it a 7/10.

Cheap, spray as much as you wish, hot day scent that you can bring with you on vacation. This is a perfect swimming scent, and one you can again OVERSPRAY. Too young-like for my taste so gifted my kid with this one, but sure is one to get compliments, especially since the DNA is super fresh and inviting - the kid that a lot of women I know are more geared toward.

It's been a while since I owned this. I actually forgot that I did. But I might purchase another bottle.

I don’t understand how people are calling this sweet or comparing it to sweet scents like Versace Eros?? To me it’s just fresh, aromatic, aquatic, with some woods and musk. I don’t get any sweetness and I find it to be nothing like Eros or Invictus. I can see how people could compare it Nautica Voyage. Same type of scent, but different enough. There is a nice sour bergamot in the opening which is wear some people may get the lemon head vibe, but it’s backed with a lot of aquatic ocean freshness. This is more like a youthful alternative to Aqua Di Gio Profondo to me. Less aromatic, but both are very aquatic. I think women would like smelling it on a man just as much. Anyhow, this is a great cheap option for a summertime freshie. Perfect for work, beach vacations, gym, running errands or just about any occasion you can think of. Smells like you just took a shower and used an ocean themed shower gel. I doubt anyone around will be turned off by that!

This was my first ever blind buy because I found a bottle at Ross for $17 and I've only ever heard good about this scent. I liked it but didn't understand the hype until I smelt how this reacts with a hot day in the sun. Just being hot won't cut it on my skin, because I've sweat in this a lot at my active job, but the way that the sun ignites this fragrance is unreal. It's a clean smell through and through, but it smells almost like melon and dryer sheets once I've had some sun. It also seems to get a lot more powerful, and the sillage travels farther, even after I thought it had completely faded. This is a great fragrance for an active day in the sun, but also smells good in any casual setting during warmer seasons! I've gotten great compliments wearing this, and I think it'd be hard to go wrong with this one.

It’s a sweeter, less “sophisticated” version of Perry Ellis Pure Blue, with a wonderfully grounding white pepper note. Pure Blue feels like stepping into the shade to hide from a hot sun, whereas this feels like stepping back out once you’ve cooled down. It’s very fresh, and again, has that really nice white pepper note. I cannot stress the niceness of that white pepper enough. Imagine after stepping back out into the sun someone chucks a pepper mill at your head – feels much more pleasant than that but I hope you get the idea. Needs a few sprays to get all the notes to come off my skin. Fresh fresh fresh.

Initial impression from test strip: does not smell like BDC. Smells closer to Nautica Voyage but not identical. Familiar sweet fruity Aquatic scent but not overwhelmingly so, like many aquatics that have a nauseating abundance of calone, cascalone, sea salt, seaweed, Driftwood or other salinic oceanic accords/notes (bulgari's whole aqua line, invictus legend and intense, Light Blue Intense, and many others). This cheapie smells pretty good and unique enough to own even if you have the most popular designer aquatic scents. Will test on skin on a warmer day. Too cool right now on east coast.

Watery ozonic peppery bergamot with some sort of unlisted melon note in the open that tries to come through but ultimately ends up giving way to lavender and sage in the heart, with background herbal floral notes. The dry down lingered more than expected; it's a musky vague woods but the ozonic lavender also seems to stick around a bit and was pumping out as I sweat. It's a good rack store gym frag that lasts longer than Nautica Voyage or D&G Light Blue EDT, drawing comparisons to Mont Blanc Legend Spirit and Invictus Aqua.

Bought this at ross recently after TLTG recommended it. Was worth it a little strong after a fresh spray but dies down in 5-10 minutes for a nice overall scent. Im oldschool from 2000s with hollister and reminds me a bit of their scent from then but just a bit. Has a titch of a shower gel/spray note but it fades away after the dry down. Only thing I can complain about with Wave 2. Now to try original Wav and WaveX, Freewave was a bust for me. Would buy for $10-15 if you see this at a shelf rack store.

It's been a while since I last sprayed this, and I've noticed the scent has evolved to a sweeter, Invictus-like DNA. I actually enjoy it now. When I first got it, I thought it smelled alright, nothing special and a bit boring. I still feel the same about this being nothing special, but it's not boring anymore. This fragrance is really enjoyable and definitely suited for hot summer days. I think it pairs well with gym clothing, like sleeveless shirts and joggers. I'd rate it a 7/10.

Pleasantly surprised by the great smell of this scent. I assumed melon would be in the note breakdown, because I get a distinctly melony vibe in the backbone of this scent. I place this in a "great for summer days" parking spot in my collection. I guess it does have that sort of "blue" type scent, but to me much different in that it is kind of a beachy scent. The scent pushes for a few hours but by hour 4-6 becomes a skin scent. Not a bad cheapie.

The lemon heads comment right below mine nails it. Nails it! Very sugary citrusy ozonic fragrance. I don't find it to be all that masculine. It gets there, but only after it's all from faded away. It weirdly reminds me of a fragrance a high school crush (female) wore, but definitely has that hint of musky backdrop that prevents it from working as a feminine fragrance. I don't pick up any woodiness in this scent.

This is my shameless "I want to smell like a boy" smell. That's all there is to it. It's very shower gel-y, very bright. If you want to feel like a teenage boy running around the mall with his buddies in the early 2000s, this is a perfectly fine reach. Half of why I keep it is because it's weirdly nostalgic to me and the bottle is fun. I wouldn't pay any more than $15-$20 for it though.

Does smell a lot like Bleu de Chanel. Very pleasant and fresh. Would be hardpressed not to like it. Surprised at the amount of dislikes. Possibly the BDC fans upset that a fragrance is so close that it could pass as a clone. Overall, not bad for a cheapie.

If you are in the mood for something like náutica voyage but different than get this scent. Smells as fresh as possible without ever smelling like shower gel or deodorant. Great for the gym

This is a good generic summer frag! Fresh citrus on top and cool musky drydown. Definitely good for summer days and it cheap enough to re spray every couple of hours to stay refreshed

I think it's better than bleu de chanel.

Frankly, needed to make a review before I forgot what this is called, lol. Yeah, don't you hate when they don't put the name of the scent anywhere on the bottle(sticker or engraved)? Annoying...the mark of a cheap fragrance lol. I've only owned a Holister shirt before, never had experience with their scents(but because it's an Inter scent, I probably have and don't know it). Meanwhile, this is a faceless, but fresh summer scent. I suppose it is a bit like Nautica Voyage, albeit slightly stronger(though that's not saying much as it is indeed mild). It's not like many of the above scents listed(I owned a number of them, and don't see the MBLS resemblance or Cool Water Wave). Safe blind buy and good for the office perhaps. I paid $19.99 for a 50ml and I'm not upset...but won't get it again as it's not unique enough to refill.
