Hope Night

I sampled all three scents from the brand and finally this was my favorite! It smelled like cough syrup to me at first but then I really really grew to ADORE it and just ordered a full bottle. Honestly I didn’t expect something so sweet from this brand but trust me it’s really good! I agree with the other reviewer this is very well blended. Also layers well with the other scents particularly Hope Sport! I’m gonna wear this a lot :)

I recently received this as the lucky winner of a giveaway from Hope and Fragrantica. Thank you so much for the beautiful prize! I wanted to give this a couple tries in order to review it better. It's blended quite well, which was more noticeable on my second wear, as I smelled different notes in the opening. The opening is very floral and lasts around 15-20 minutes. The first try I smelled quite a bit of plum, which had me worried as its not my favorite. The second try was more floral and much nicer. I got the gardenia and Lily of the valley, but somehow I even smelled violets, even though it's not a listed note. It's sweet and smooth and reminds me of cool summer evenings. As it dries down, the vanilla and amber emerge, and it starts to feel more oriental in nature. I'm struggling to smell the patchouli but I'm not surprised. I wear a lot of patchouli oil and I've become a bit nose blind to it when it's blended well in perfumes. That's my biggest takeaway from this perfume, how well it's blended. It really morphs into its different stages seamlessly, with no sharpness. Sillage is good and it lasted 5-6 hours on my skin. It doesn't personally feel like a "night" fragrance. On me this is a perfect daytime scent. It's floral with just a enough oriental edge to make it interesting. There's the hint of powder here, but not baby powder. It's the kind of powdery feel I get from vanilla and amber blends. It feels light enough to wear in the summer, but it's anchored by the amber and Vetiver, allowing it to be worn day or night. You could easily wear this to work, there's nothing heavy or suffocating here. Thank you for the opportunity to try this lovely fragrance. It will be getting more love from me in the warmer months.

I always love vanilla and amber scents, and I have to trick myself into thinking that’s what I’m putting on when I use this perfume. Trick myself because when I initially spray it, something about it is so overpowering to me. The dry down is nice though, that’s when you get the amber scents a little more but still it’s like something is hiding those notes from my nose. Way overpriced if you were to buy the full bottle.

This is my least favorite of the Hope Fragrances line. For one thing, the juice is purple. I have to think about what I'm wearing before spraying it. Secondly, it's powdery and I'm not into that. The plum in here smells artificial, obviously everything in perfumes is synthetic, but it smells like a plum hard candy rather than a plum fruit. It's not anything I would get a full bottle of. Hope and Hope Sport were lovely, quite floral. This one is a miss.
