Tonka Sublime

Today I'm wearing Tonka Sublime Eau De Parfum Extreme. It doesn’t contain vanilla, but it has a sweetness reminiscent of it. I sprayed it 5–6 times, and while I can still smell it, the sillage only reaches about half an arm’s length, definitely not a projection monster. I’ll see how it performs throughout the day in terms of longevity. Overall, it could be considered unisex, though to me it leans slightly feminine. Still, it’s definitely a lovely scent. Updating: So, it's been around 10 hours since i sprayed it and 4 hours ago the scent was gone, which means longevity is around 6-7 hours. Not bad at all. Sillage intensity is also stated as 3/5 at the Houbigant webpage. First a couple of hours i could smell it around my desk when i enter the office. Scent: 8.5/10, Sillage: 6/10, Longevity:7.5/10, Hype: 0/10 as i have not seen this perfume hyped or mentioned anywhere at all i'd choose Houbigant's Tonka Sublime over both Miami and Martha's Vineyard by City Rhythm which have been overly mega hyped (and caused me to blind buy both).

A beautiful, non complicated tonka perfume. Although not listed i get a bit of cherry. Sillage should perform better.

Bummer, opens a very sweet (boardline sugar syrup) delicious tonka, then dries down to be quite a sweaty, flat Coca Cola-ish smell on me. I still get hints of the yummy tonka but it’s 50/50. Surprised how much this projects on first spray to then hits a hard stop to become moderate. I don’t think this is the fault of the fragrance and similar to Eau Delle & Crystal Emerald is a skin chemistry thing. I will gracefully use it up and forget all about her.

Started off as a creamy tonka cuddle... and then immediately went dusty, musky and a bit “grandpa’s cologne cupboard.” My skin chemistry pulled out a faint sour-dirty edge too, which was my cue to back away slowly. Not awful, just deeply not for me. On me? Soft, a little masculine, and ultimately... why bother? Sample first!
