Guava Sorbet Elixir

Smelled this today at “The Scented Cottage” in Johns Creek, GA & OMG it knocked my socks off, I am blownnnnn away by the depth of it, & how JUICY it is, plus it’s very bright too, with some creaminess, NOT sickeningly sweet or gourmand ..it’s like a fruity fresh, yet more luxurious, was my 1st quick impression of it. If you do NOT already have the original fragrance, skip it & get the ELIXIR version...you will be more than satisfied💯

I ordered a 10ml alongside a discovery set and this was my favorite (but I’m a sucker for something sensual and tropical). Compared to the original, the description of guava nectar makes sense because it is a thicker version which is why I believe that initial guava note stays with the fragrance through the duration of the wear (on my skin 8+ hours). Alas, I will be upgrading to the 30ml.

If you have smelled the EDP, imagine the same profile, but with the tropical fruitiness turned up to 11, I loved the original but the elixir makes it so much better, unfortunately as a man I don't think I could pull this off and it ended up being a gift to my girlfriend so that I could keep smelling it lmao

I don’t know...it’s kind of smelling like a fruity body spray you could get at Target, rather than a niche fragrance. I had high hopes but for a fruity summer scent I’ll stick with Mango Sticky Rice by d’Annam.

I was super excited to try this one, but I only get guava and then a screechy amber dry down

It smells a little perfumey immediately out of the bottle but that dissipates quickly into a juicy, fruity blend. It’s sweet but not overly so. edible. Lovely. Unfortunately, as many others have noted, that scent fades and leaves behind a synthetic, less pleasant smell. Reminds me of something a grandma would wear. Which is a shame because if the opening lasted the entire time I’d buy a full size. Update: I’ve continued to try this perfume and nope. I hate it. If it was purely the fruity scent I’d love it but the synthetic odor overwhelms everything else and I find myself scrubbing it off. Even after lots of soap and water it won’t come off.

Ugh, this was so promising. I really thought I had found the perfect tropical fruity summer fragrance. The opening is bright, juicy, and exactly the kind of guava-forward scent I wanted. Sadly, once it dries down, it loses that gorgeous tropical fruitiness and turns into that awkward synthetic woody-amber base that so many modern perfumes use to boost longevity. Instead of staying lush, juicy, and summery, it becomes screechy and synthetic. Huge letdown, because the opening had so much potential.

Unfortunately this leans very musty and woody on my skin. I get no guava only passionfruit, musk and woods.

Yeah I have to agree with the below review. This opening with the juicy fruits had a lot of promise but it quickly turns into a screechy woody super synthetic mess that just won’t let go.

Summer Street is the only EDP I like from HoB.. and I hated it for the first few months until it macerated and then the honeysuckle just hit different and now it’s a summertime obsession but anyways this is about the Elixir line.. if guava sorbet is any foreshadowing then everyone needs to just save their coin for the Elixirs because guava sorbet was okay it wasn’t anything special but the elixir!!!!?!?!? It’s EVERYTHING.. it’s tart. It’s juicy. It’s CREAMY! It’s summer decadent and that’s not an influencer selling you because they want more free products like sadly I spend my own money because brands haven’t gotten smart and ever tried to send to their real communities for feedback because that would just seem too wholesome and not be “seen” enough. Anyways that’s a rant for a blog but Guava Sorbet Elixir is actually superior and I’m not someone that overly loves a juicy tart tropical fragrance unless it’s mango or has Oud and a dark side but this is just tart juicy creamy and bright like it’s refreshing and not usually my type of crap but I’m in love and let me tell you how love became obsession.. I decided to layer Lemon Sorbet from Arabiyat’s Sugar line and my god.. MY GOD talk about creamy sorbet decadent summer heaven. It’s like the creamiest summer treat on a hot day and you just came into the AC and are eating the most delicious decadent sorbet it’s magical. To me Lemon Sorbet is lowkey the sugared lemon note that we get in kerosene’s unknown pleasures without the tea note it’s strictly sugary icy lemon but I’m telling you if you smell them side by side it’s like they plucked just the lemon from that dna the exact type of sugary lemon and made a fragrance for it alone for those that don’t like the tea side of the profile and for me.. I have and love both but I had to come on here and spill my guts because this is my third time mixing them and it’s got me smelling like a summer dream and I’m more of a gourmand dark thick resinous vanilla and saffron girly or even some iris/plum.. so for me to like something that’s so opposite spectrum and bright creamy and decadent in a refreshing way.. I swear more people need to layer the two! Tropical descriptions and fresh and refreshing terms usually put me off because I don’t wanna have my perfume smell like soap and shampoo or some tropical cocktail but apparently I will take something that’s makes me smell like a whole tropical snack because the fruits are considered as such but even then don’t think tropical as in sunscreen beachy or even ylang in gold is more summer decadent sorbet it’s toeing the line and doing a damn good job at that. Layer the sorbets and thank me later. Also it helps that both bottles are stunning. Who doesn’t love a heavy cute ice cream cone and the matte pink bottle with that gold detailing.. chefs kiss
